Did I just simply make 2012 & rise crossover? Yes, yes I did!

Did I also add some ✨mystic✨ to it for spice? Yes I absolutely did!!

Am I gonna do this one post and never return to this idea ever again(like I did with my rat au)? I really fucking hope not!!!

The idea itself is that one of 12!turtle’s enemy got so fed up with them that they got their hands on some mystic stuff to capture brothers in weapons and banish them to another dimension. Anything to “never see their stupid turtle faces again!”

To everyone’s surprise it actually worked. And unfortunately for turtles …. That’s how one, what seemed like normal, mission turned into catastrophe. One by one brothers got separated and locked up in their own weapon: Leo in ōdachi, Mickey in kusari-fundo, Raph in tonfās and Donnie in some strange bo stuff (I have no idea what the name of the weapon was in first episode, if you know tell me) . After this they were just dumped through the portal in whatever dimension, those bad guys couldn’t care less honestly.

And that’s how 2012 Leo, Raph, Mickey and Donnie got into Rise!dimension. But…!!! They happened to appear in Hidden city long before Draxum’s mutant warriors were even in plans. Weapons were passed from hand to hand, but never stayed long with one holder. Different yokai complained about seeing and hearing strange things the more they used the weapons. But with every next holder it was getting more and more obvious that these weapons were not just haunted, but possessed mystic powers. With this rumours going around Hidden city about ōdachi that can creat portals and tonfās that make you bigger and stronger, that’s how Baron Draxum found out about them and decided that he wanted them in his collection.

And would you believe me when I tell that that’s where Draxum got the idea for his human-destruction warriors to be turtles? When he tried to use kusari-fundo and saw a vision of a ninja-looking turtle yokai that was yelling at him to be freed and was challenging him to a fight! He was mesmerised by this creature’s body structures, the possibility of a shell to be a natural protection, ability to breathe underwater. It was a perfect choice of an animal for a warrior to be mutated from!

That’s where 13 years later, our rise!bois are coming into view! Story goes the same as in the “Mystic mayhem” episode, except…. When rise!turtles tried to use their new mystic weapon and it was malfunctioning, it was mostly cause it was their first time using it, but also cause 12!brothers were being kinda salty about not being used for over a decade and they were trying to get some fun out of all this situation. After all, who could have known that their new holders are gonna finally help them reunite with each other. Not right away, but in time…

And if you’re asking yourself right now “But what about Donnie?” Well…remember how he didn’t take the “glowy weapon”? Yeah, at some point in the story they’ll have to go back to Draxum’s destroyed lab and hope that 12!Donnie and stuff he’s in did survive the explosion.

"you never denied having a crush on her"

The cool hardwood flooring in my apartment sends a cool sensation in my body through my sore feet. My feet reminds me of the intensity the game I had hours before. After placing my birkenstocks by the locked apartment door, I toss my bag aside and head straight for the shower. 

Quickly taking off the blue jogger set along with my undergarments, I turn the shower knob all the way and the steam is (lightly) rising due to the warm temperature I wanted the water at.

Stepping under the warm water, I’ve the tension of the game melt away. The memory of my debut flashes in my mind, the cheers of the crowd blending with the pounding of my heart in my chest. Two goals, a brace, in my first match with Barcelona. It's a dream come true, a moment I've worked tirelessly for throughout the last few weeks, and now it's finally real.

After finishing the last step in my shower routine, I couldn't help but feel a flutter of excitement bubbling up inside me. Tomorrow morning I had recovery training, which is the best kind of training since it requires just stretching and cardio, but the plans afterwards excited me. Esmee and I had planned to hang out, just the two of us. I couldn't wait.

Pulling myself into my comfortable pink covered bed, I thought about Esmee again. Throughout the last two weeks, I was able to bond with her while we were with our other teammates and friends. She was shy but funny– she was incredible on the pitch - strong, was humble, and had a smile that was pasted on my mind.

Clearly, I've been feeling something more than just admiration for her. I tried to push it away, to tell myself that it was just a friendly bond between teammates. Back in Washington, I never felt this way towards another teammate of mine. Being in a different country changed me more than I realized. 

But deep down, I knew my feelings for the Dutch were increasing, but that's something I wasn't quite ready to admit.

The next morning at training, I found myself stealing glances at Esmee as we gathered for training. She looked radiant with her braids, as always, and my heart skipped a beat as our eyes met. I quickly looked away and noticed Bruna. The second closest person to me on the team– Bruna, my ever-observant friend, nudged me with a mischievous grin.

"What's got you so distracted, Y/N?" she teased, her eyes twinkling with amusement. "Could it be someone on the team?"

I flushed, shaking my head more than I should’ve. "No! I am not looking at anyone in particular, I'm just... focusing on the training ahead."

“Yeah right!” Jana came up and wrapped her arms around Bruna and I’s shoulders. I couldn’t help but giggle as I forced myself to not look in Esmee’s direction. I didn’t want to give the Spanish couple another opportunity to tease me. 

Jana or Bruna weren't convinced of my lie, and neither were the rest of our teammates. They exchanged knowing glances and playful nudges, and I couldn't help but feel a pang of embarrassment. Hopefully Esmee didn’t know about it. 

An hour of training passed by, and before I knew it, Esmee and I were paired together for agility ladder practice. Some of the girls (Salma and Vicky for example) giggled to themselves when they heard Jona pair Esmee and I together. 

As we worked through the drills, I realized that we are hanging out after this. I wasn’t sure where we were gonna go. 

“Hey Es, what do you want to do after this?” I asked. Esmee taps her feet through the spaces on the ladder before responding, “That's what I was trying to figure out.” she smiled at herself. 

“By the time we get out, it’ll be eleven am still. Maybe we can go over to Playa Grande tropical. It’s a beach club not too far from here.” I recommended. Esmee nodded her head as she followed me through with crossovers on the ladder. 

“That sounds fun!” Esmee says. 

“I know right! We can have lunch before going to the beach. It’ll be a good opportunity to relax after the last few days.” I commented, reminding each other about the game last night and training the day before. 

“That's good. I didn’t bring anything with me here so i’ll have to go back to my apartment before we go there.” Esmee’s face lit up, realizing that we were going to spend the day together. 

“Same, I’ll change then bring sunscreen, towels and anything else we need.” I say. 

“Do you want me to meet you at the beach club or should we go there together?” Esmee asks. My heart skips at this innocent question. I didn’t want to sound desperate so after a few seconds I responded with, 

“We can go there together! We can go to my apartment first, grab my stuff, then I can ride with you to your apartment and get yours—unless you want to take my car instead?” 

“Your plan sounds good! My trunk has a lot of space to put our stuff in.” Esmee commented. 

For a moment after our conversation, our eyes locked, and I felt a rush of warmth spread through me. The Dutch smirked as our eyes didn’t break hold from each other.

But just as quickly as it had come, I pushed the feeling aside when I heard all of our teammates gather up by one of the goal posts. Hopefully none of the girls notice my cheeky smile as I jog over to them, focusing on the task at hand.

Unfortunately, it seemed that our moment hadn't gone unnoticed by our teammates. All of the girls, besides Esmee and I, gave each other knowing looks, and I felt my cheeks flush with embarrassment once again. But this time, I couldn't deny the thrill that coursed through me. Maybe, just maybe, there was something more between Esmee and me after all. I can’t confront this feeling yet though, it’s too early.

I wiped the sweat from my forehead with the back of my hand after training concluded. The pleasant ache in my muscles from last night's game seemed to settle away after stretching. Taking a sip from my water bottle, I savored the cool liquid. The sun was still climbing in the sky as it was ten minutes until 11:00 am.

As I screwed the cap back on my water bottle, I saw Salma approaching, her familiar bright smile lighting up her face. 

"Hey, Y/N! Do you have any plans today?" she asked, her eyes twinkling with curiosity. 

I hesitated, my mind racing. Salma, Vicky, and I had been trying to find a time to hang out for weeks, but our schedules never seemed to align. Today, however, I had plans with Esmee, and I knew exactly how Salma would react if I told her. Esmee was– special, and Salma never missed an opportunity to tease me about her.

"Um, yeah, actually," I replied, trying to keep my tone casual and not give too much away.

Salma raised an eyebrow, clearly intrigued. Did she hear Esmee and I talk earlier? 

"Oh? What are you up to?"

I took a deep breath, deciding it was best to just come out with it. "I'm about to hang out with Esmee."

As expected, Salma’s grin widened mischievously. "Esmee, huh? Are you sure it's just hanging out?" she teased, nudging me with her elbow which caused me to giggle. 

"You know, you never denied having a crush on her.” 

I felt my cheeks heat up but I stood my ground, rolling my eyes playfully. "Come on, Salma. We're just friends."

Salma laughed, not buying it for a second. "Sure, sure. “Friends”— Can’t wait for you to tell me all of the juicy details later"

I chuckled, shaking my head. "Shut up– Not the juicy details?"

Salma's teasing was relentless, but I knew it came from a good place. "Sureeee–– So, what are you two going to do? Anything exciting?" she asked, clearly enjoying my discomfort.

"We’re just going to grab lunch and head to the beach," I said, trying to sound nonchalant. "It’s nothing major."

"The beach!!?? Sounds like a perfect date to me," Salma said, winking. 

“Many friends go to the beach together?” I protest. 

“Yeah–but I can’t imagine friends giving each other heart eyes at the beach. If it's anything like training, I can imagine Esmee and you staring at each other with desperation the entire time” Salma said, my jaw dropped as I tried not to hold my laugh. Salma was considered one of the funniest and boldest people (by Ona) when I joined the team two weeks ago– I can see why after being her friend. 

“What is that supposed to mean?” I smile as we both head into the dressing room. Hopefully she calms down on the teasing before we are in the room with Esmee present. 

"I’m just saying, if I were Esmee, I'd definitely be into you too. Which she is into you but-"

"Wait what?" I ask. What did she mean?

"Oh--nothing!" Salma's eyes widened before she smirked.

I couldn’t help but laugh at that, pretending as if I didn't want to know what Salma was referring to. Even though my curiosity is itching for me to find out. "Salma, you really have no chill– but thank you"

"Anytime," she replied, giving me a pat on the back. "Go have fun with your 'friend' Esmee. We’ll find time to hang out soon, I promise."

“How about Tuesday? The men’s team plays Antwerp at Montjuic!” I suggested. Salma’s brown eyes light up before she smiles, “That's a brilliant idea, I'm sure Vicky will want to go too.” 

“That's great, I'll let her know too.” I responded.

As we walked into the dressing room and Salma walked away, I couldn't help but smile. Despite the teasing, I appreciated having a friend and teammate like her who always kept things— interesting. I took another sip of water before sitting down by my spot, feeling a mix of excitement and nervousness. It was just lunch and chilling at the beach, but it's with Esmee.

I finished getting ready but waited for Esmee to finish grabbing her things. Maybe Salma had a point, but for now, I was just looking forward to spending time with someone who made me happy these last few weeks. 

Twenty minutes later, I gripped the steering wheel tightly, glancing nervously in my rearview mirror at the navy blue sedan following me. Esmee had insisted on following me back to my apartment so we could head to her apartment before the beach together, and though I had agreed, I found myself overthinking in the car.

"Did I clean my apartment recently?" I muttered under my breath, anxiety bubbling up inside of my stomach. I knew Esmee wasn’t judgmental, but the thought of my— friend—seeing my space made my stomach twist.

My apartment was five minutes away from the training grounds but the car ride felt as if it lasted two seconds. I parked my car outside my apartment and I took a deep breath, trying to calm my nerves. Esmee parked beside me and flashed a warm smile that made my heart skip a beat. Leading the way through my apartment complex, I unlocked the door and gestured for her to enter first.

The moment we stepped inside, Esmee inhaled deeply which made me giggle. "Your apartment smells good. Is that vanilla?"

I blushed, "Ha yeah– I own a few vanilla candles."

Before I could say more, two small bundles of fur came trotting up to us. Last week, I got two kittens to keep me company when I am at home, and to keep each other company while I am gone. The first gray fluff ran over first as its sibling walked behind patiently, nervous about the new guest.

"Macadamia! Berry!," I cooed, scooping up the extroverted kitten, Macadamia, and handing her to Esmee a minute later.

Esmee's eyes lit up as she took the kitten in her arms. "Oh my gosh, she’s so adorable! Wait--Did you really name one of your cats Berry?” she asked with a playful grin.

“Yeah I did.” I giggled. 

I chuckled, my heart swelling at the sight of Esmee holding one of my kittens. "Maca- Macadamia–." Esmee said before laughing to herself. With her dutch accent, it still sounded great, but I think the girl doubted herself. 

Esmee tried again, stumbling over the name slightly. "Macadamia... Maca... Maca-day-mee-ah."

I laughed, feeling myself fall for h– the moment! just a little more. "That’s perfect!"

“Is Berry the shy one?” Esmee asked as she pointed at the other kitten kidding under the coffee table in my living room. 

“Yep, she is— but here!” I scooped Berry’s small body with my left hand, the kitten meowed once before Esmee held her beside her sister. 

“They’re so cute.” Esmee repeated as she admired the kittens in her arms. Pulling my phone out of my pocket, I swiped over to the camera option and took multiple pictures of Esmee holding the kittens. She didn’t notice at first until she looked back up at me– “Hey!” Esmee jokingly said before we bursted out in laughter, not taking her fake offense seriously.

 

We shared a warm smile, looking into eachothers eyes, before I remembered the reason for our stop. "Wait sorry– I just remembered why we are here– I just need to grab a few things for the beach," I said, heading toward my bedroom.

As I came back from my bedroom-- changed into my beachwear-- with my tote bag, sunscreen, towels, and other necessary products needed. I placed the tote bag on my kitchen island and started organizing everything inside. Eventually, I felt Esmee’s presence close behind me. When I turned around, our faces were inches apart, and my breath caught in my throat. The world seemed to pause, the air thick with tension.

There were no distractions. For example, there are no teammates or coaches here to (jokingly) tease us. My heart nearly pumped out of my chest after realizing what was happening. 

Esmee’s eyes flickered to my lips, and my eyes flickered at her plump ones back. For a moment, I thought she might lean in. I stepped closer but my heart pounded in my chest, a mix of fear and anxiety. If I lean in first, I’m scared that I will be rejected. 

I stepped back, quickly grabbing the sunscreen and placing it into the tote bag. "There! everything is all set–" I said, my voice a bit too cheerful. Pretending like the moment seconds before didn’t occur. "We’ll definitely need this."

Esmee’s smile was soft and understanding, but nervousness settled into her eyes too. "That’s great!"

As we headed back to the door, not before saying goodbye to the kittens, I couldn’t help but wonder what might have happened if I hadn’t pulled away.

My first thoughts consisted of me fighting with myself, "I am such a puss, why couldn't I just do it!?" There were no distractions or factors that could've stopped either of us from leaning in. It was a good moment.

Learning to be nice to myself, I gave myself grace. I followed behind Es in my apartment complex as we headed to her car. With the dutch girl beside me, ready for a fun day at the beach, I couldn’t help but feel that maybe, just maybe, that there will be more chances to make a move.

Happy Audio Drama Sunday! I heard so many good shows this week, let’s goooooo

🥃 I started listening to @breakerwhiskey this week, and I’m on episode 21 (which is nothing, it’s microfic), and it is so compelling. Lauren Shippen said in episode zero that she misses the improvisational feel of early audio dramas and that really comes through in this show—the wandering of the story reflects the wandering of Whiskey herself. I can’t wait to see what happens next.

🎵I am not alone in my reaction to the new season of @hellofromthehallowoods, which I think goes something like, “Wh—who—but—Arnold?????” (Seriously, Arnold???) but I love a mystery, and I love how linear this season is starting out. I’m sure that it’ll all get more complicated soon.

💔 Have you all heard Josie’s Lonely Hearts Club? It’s a call-in advice show from a fictional radio station and it is HILARIOUS. Until this last episode, which got SAD. It's a partially improvised show, so the whole thing feels so incredibly human and it always hits. Please listen, more fictional advice shows all around.

🐺 The Midnight Burger/The Amelia Project crossover was exactly as delightful as I expected. We got two shows that love historical figures and putting people in the deep freeze. What could go wrong! Absolutely nothing. With a crossover episode I always wonder if there will be enough character interaction to slake my insatiable character dynamic thirst and for this one I definitely think there was.

🍺 Inn Between dropped an episode of Dragon’s Rest on their feed this week, and I'm here to say that we did that because it's frikkin hilarious. This last episode was so good, especially with Shax trying to talk to a bartender and the bartender getting mad that Shax was complaining about her friends and not having a professional business conversation. I love you, southern-sounding bartender, and I love you Shax.

🩸Hemophobia continues to scare the heck out of me. This series, Camp Havenside, ended exactly how I expected it to, with the extra twist of that horrible half-possessed state Sam is in. Lordt. Listen to this show. Mind the content warnings. Then like, message me about it, it has taken permanent residence in my brain.

🎭 Oh Malevolent, you never disappoint me. I adore the twists the season finale took, and the real danger Arthur and John were in had me on the edge of my seat. How are we gonna get outta this one boys! Frikkin Kayne.

💎 As it ever is, @kingmakerpod was a blessing visited upon my podcatcher. Oh man though, Lucas Lando, what a scuzbag. Like maybe the worst villain yet in this series for me, and I'm including the psychic child. Lando's just unsavory. The action scenes in this episode were excellent, and I love the use of Pocket Cinnamon. For a minute when they were looking for things in the barn that don't conduct electricity, I was very worried for the cows. Honestly now a little surprised they didn't explode a cow. Hey guys, why didn't you explode a cow?

🌈 I've been listening to this actual play, @ourstoriedinsight, and it's about all the typical actual play stuff--a party of misfit adventurers, thrown together by circumstance, trying to stop the end of the world. What stands out about this one is its wonderful sound design and its tone--it's so introspective and kind. The characters are great too. I would die for Vishakapar. As for personal news, boy oh boy am I working hard on the Dead! Pray for our recording schedule these next couple weeks. As for Inn Between, we'll be putting up an episode this week that is a true banger, I hope you like it.

just gonna ramble about some Ultrakill/Portal crossover thoughts don't mind me

(considering The End of All Known Land canon for these thoughts, i.e. a world where Gabriel and V1 are the only ones to get out of Hell)

Chell hates robots with all her soul and would try to fucking annihilate V1 if she thought they posed even a sliver of a threat but V1 would be so fucking excited at the prospect of another human. like obviously if they were still in a situation where they needed blood, they'd kill her without a second thought, but now? they're just FASCINATED by the question of "how did a human SURVIVE" and they want to know everything

V1 inner monologue: oh boy a new sparring partner!!! wow they have a cool new kind of gun I've never seen before!! that would've been soooo helpful back in hell. I wonder if that's how they escaped? and they're quiet just like me! I wonder if their organic voicebox is broken? or do they just not have one? can humans not have one?

GLaDOS would fucking despise Gabriel because he's sooooo full of himself. She doesn't even need to hear him say anything robot-racist, She's already decided She hates him and wants him dead. an "angel?" yeah, right. sounds just like another human ripe for the picking. let's see how high-and-mighty you are when you're in my TESTING DOMAIN! DO MY PUZZLES, BOY!!!

Gabriel is like wow this robot is stuck up and has some serious issues but also I am uncomfortable with how much of myself I see reflected in her. hmmmm. yeah I'll try your puzzle, tell me more about your deep-seated hatred of organics and particularly this one that keeps ruining the facility you run and is the only one to ever beat you in a fight. mhm. yeah so quick question have you ever thought about trying to fuck—

meanwhile if Chell ever met Gabriel on the surface it'd make for such a good tense encounter. bc she is hiding behind a tree in full fight-or-flight mode wondering "how did another human SURVIVE" and also second question "how did they get such sickass wings and where can I get a pair?"

and then Gabriel noticing her would ALSO send him into fight-or-flight mode but only for a moment because of the pure shock of, again, "HOW DID A HUMAN SURVIVE" before curiosity completely overtakes him and he tries to talk to her. trying to get her to talk and not attack or run is like trying to coax a wild injured animal out of a hiding spot. but he eventually manages to earn the barest, most minimal amount of trust by setting down all his weapons and leaving offerings of food in front of her.

...this gets harder when she sees Gabriel and V1 together and registers that they're allies. she's unsure if they're plotting against her or if V1 is manipulating Gabriel. eventually she leans towards the latter and thinks her fears are confirmed when she witnesses them drawing Gabriel's blood while he's sleeping.

she tries to communicate this to him by drawing crude pictures on the ground and is VERY FRUSTRATED when he's like "omg can you not talk? that's ok!! V1 also can't talk but we make it work, they're really incredibly kind and patient and—"

I think it would be funny for V1 to try and go urban exploring in Aperture. GLaDOS is initially all excited because a new testing robot literally fell right into Her clutches but then V1 proceeds to be the most stubborn, impudent, tenacious piece of shit and they remind her WAY TOO MUCH OF CHELL so now She's trying to kill them but they have ACTUAL FUCKING GUNS and Aperture is being destroyed in the wake of their battle

meanwhile V1 has decided they don't like this robot but also She makes fun tests. so they do puzzles until they get bored and then they blast holes through the wall and try to kill Her

something something Ultrakill is just Portal for NBs (everyone knows Portal is for women) and I'm so fascinated by the similar dynamics of the toxic yuri/toxic yaoi robot-and-human pairs. and I think they would mostly hate each other and I love that for them.

I honestly don't know, I think I can write smut pretty well? And I'm not bad at cute stuff. The honest truth is I am extremely insecure about my writing abilities and think I'm average at best.

I struggle with dialogue as I often feel like I'm being too OOC. Also descriptions. I spend the most time sitting there thinking of how tf to describe something.

If we are just looking at the individual fic, I wrote a couple of episode codas during the Malec break-up in Shadowhunters that were fairly bleak. But I've never really written angst that isn't resolved by a follow-up fic or by the source material. I'm delicate. Ending author's notes don't count.

16. What are your writing strengths? I am very funny. This is obviously good for comedy writing, which is my wheelhouse, but I think more dramatic writing is still set-up and punchline, even if the punchline isn't played for laughs.

17. What are your writing weaknesses? You know how pointing out your insecurities draws attention to them? I started listing stuff, decided that I don't want you noticing my eyebrows are more cousins than twins, and deleted it. I will say I think I am something of a one trick pony and comedy is also a bit of a crutch for me and nvm, Kam reblogged a post about finding your form as a writer, and I am not a one trick pony, I have just been called to write silly porn. My weaknesses are varied sentence structure and physical description.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic? I haven't done it, but I think it is fine as long as you are not using a translation software to do so.

Two years after his departure from Chicago P.D., Jesse Lee Soffer is staying within the Dick Wolf universe for his big return to series television. As the new team leader of CBS' globe-trotting police procedural, FBI: International, Soffer officially moves on from Detective Jay Halstead, the character he played from 2013 to 2022, and begins a fresh chapter as Agent Wesley "Wes" Mitchell.

Discussions did take place between Soffer and showrunner Matt Olmstead, who oversaw the first five seasons of P.D., about whether Jay could feature prominently on FBI: International. After all, the One Chicago and FBI franchises are invariably linked, thanks to a P.D.-FBI crossover episode in 2020. "We joked about it," Soffer told TV Guide. "It was never out of the cards to come back one day." While viewers won't be seeing him flashing his badge as Jay in the streets of Budapest, there is plenty to discover about Wes, whom Soffer describes as unconventional, unaffected, and playing by his own rules.

Ahead of Soffer's debut on FBI: International, the actor opens up about why he signed on to lead the CBS procedural after Luke Kleintank's exit, the differences between Jay and Wes, and why he's okay with forever being associated with his P.D. character.

TV Guide: Did you ever imagine that you would find yourself leading another Dick Wolf series?

Jesse Lee Soffer: It was never out of the cards, even when I left P.D. It was not out of the cards to come back one day. I love that character and he's always going to be in my bones, and I was really grateful to Dick, Peter Jankowski, Anastasia Puglisi, and everybody at Wolf for the opportunity to direct P.D. And then I was like, I kind of want to go back and start acting again. So it wasn't a huge surprise. The surprise was that it was in Budapest.

What led you to say yes to FBI: International and decide that this was the show you wanted to come back for?

Soffer: It's a really fun show. It's really cinematic. I played a cop for so long on [P.D.], and Wes is another cop but he has less baggage than Halstead. It just seemed like a great fit. [Showrunner] Matt [Olmstead] called me after I got the offer and we talked about it. I get to bring a veteran vibe of a guy who knows what he's doing and does things his own way. And I get to bring that energy to this team and that was a fun opportunity.

It's been established that the One Chicago and FBI franchises exist in the same universe after Tracy Spiridakos' P.D. character appeared in an FBI episode in 2020. You're playing a completely new character here. Was there ever a discussion — even a fleeting one — about whether you would play Halstead again?

Soffer: Am I allowed to talk about this? [Pauses] We joked about it. And Hailey Upton's character did a crossover on FBI, so hypothetically her character exists in this universe. But the other joke is that, if she ever showed up on International, Wes would be like, "Do I know you?"

How vital was it for you to familiarize yourself with FBI: International before stepping onto set?

Soffer: I watched a lot of episodes. I watched almost the whole run of the show, I think.

How do you describe Wes? How do you want to introduce your character to audiences?

Soffer: Wes is an ex-cop who's been an FBI agent and was Vo's training officer, so they have an interesting dynamic. He was hard on her, which comes full circle because now she's grateful for that tutelage and she's the one that brings him in. He does things his own way. He doesn't always follow procedure, which gets him into trouble, but his attitude is there's no trouble you can't work your way around. He's always going to, unconventionally, get the job done. I love how carefree he is and his easygoing attitude of, "We're just gonna keep moving forward and get the job done." I'm used to brooding a lot and carrying a lot of baggage, so it's a breath of fresh air.

You alluded to it, but how does Wes compare to Halstead in terms of mannerisms, personality, and how he approaches work?

Soffer: They might hold a gun the same way. But I think their attitudes are really different. I think Halstead was more aggressive, more brooding, had darker thoughts, and Wes is more unaffected and enjoying himself a little more.

What kind of leader is Wes since he's coming in to eventually lead the Fly Team?

Soffer: He's a lead-by-example guy. He's doing his thing and he's going to get the job done. You might like it, you might not like it. But this is how it's going to go.

How would you describe the team dynamic?

Soffer: There's apprehension, there's uncertainty. Smitty is like, "Oh god, he's gonna get us in so much trouble." There are a lot of different dynamics to play out. And the Vo dynamic because there's a backstory and a history there. That ends up being an interesting partnership.

That leads me to my next question. Because he was Vo's training officer, is that a relationship or a partnership people should keep an eye on as it evolves?

Soffer: Yeah, it's definitely something to keep an eye on. She keeps him in line. But because he operates by his own set of rules, sometimes she's got to talk some sense into him and he lets her. He respects her. He respects the agent that she is now and if she tells him he's out of line, he'll go, "OK, I'm out of line. Got it." It's kind of like a big brother-little sister [dynamic].

Are there any other interesting dynamics that develop in the early part of the season?

Soffer: There's a budding friendship with Raines. There's constant frustration with Smitty trying to hold him back. Wes is a bull in a china shop and she's like, "Put a leash on this guy." But I think she likes him and respects that he gets the job done. There's a fun episode where Tate goes undercover and he promotes her, not literally a promotion, but she gets to do some field work.

How have you adapted to filming in Budapest?

Soffer: We get to film in locations where I'm sitting [somewhere] having lunch, or I'm doing lines with a friend, and we're in this beautiful setting. But the tricky part is I can't find the right protein mix. Like, I can't find my brand and that's the hardest part about the job.

Which locations have stood out to you so far?

Soffer: We were in Portugal. We're going to Paris. There are rumors of various places in the U.K. we might go. It's such a fun adventure. Two episodes from now, you're like, "Wait, where are we going to be?" It's really cool.

Another perk of this job, right?

Soffer: And really good coffee. Really good coffee in Budapest. I live above a coffee shop so it's a nice perk.

For people who watched you on Chicago P.D. and are now tuning into FBI: International, they may still associate you with Halsted. Are you OK with that?

Soffer: This is a different thing. Of course Halstead is always going to be in my blood and my bones, and there will always be an association with that [character], I'm sure, for some people. But I hope that the fans watch this and [realize] it's a new attitude, it's a new energy, it's a new vibe, and that's what this is.

Lastly, what do you want people to know about your introduction?

Soffer: I hope they're excited. The one thing I'll say is, I want people to tune in. More eyeballs, that's what we want. The first few episodes are high intensity, action-packed. It's exciting and this new character, Wes, is carefree, fly-by-the-seat-of-his-pants, and doesn't do things by the book. He's carefree about procedure and unaffected in that way. Tragedy strikes and he's even more carefree [moving forward]. It's going to be a treat for the fans.

i'm almost sure it's this post-game show lance leaving fic, because i got comments and asks for weeks begging me to write a happy ending lol. but this fic from the hana universe, from when keith is little and shiro is fighting for custody and they haven't figured things out yet. that one is sad. this dream pov adashi fic is also sad and has no happy ending bc, you know. shiro is in space and adam thinks he's dead and everything. my loneliest series is also still in progress and as such there is no happy ending. and this is my earliest angsty-ending fic with MCD

oh god pretty much everything i write has a happy ending?? if i’m being serious?? frankly i don’t do a lot of linear plot. i just write Scenes that are vaguely connected. BUT my h2o fic had a plot that ended happily, as did my cowboy fic, but truly i’m more of a slice of life kinda gal. all my active wips are plot-driven, though, and i plan for all of them to end happily.

oh god yeah. i get it on brown eyed lance, autistic lance, adhd keith, allura just in general (are you sensing a pattern), my refusal to use readmores, and lately just some demands for me to write differently/more?? most of it is just funny so i post it to goof on it lol, but some of it i just delete and pout about until i forget about it 💀

15. what’s a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?

god, the butterfly effect. i get people asking me to update all the time and i genuinely feel bad, because i have absolutely no ideas or plans for it. i might try to come up with an ending of some kind?? but i wrote that like two years ago, so i have changed a LOT about my writing since then.

16. what are your writing strengths?

dialogue and humour, i think. and sometimes writing lack of emotional communication (if that makes sense — i like to try and write around an emotion).

17. what are your writing weaknesses?

i over explain a lot. and i overuse dialog ur tags sometimes. i have a Very Specific scene playing out in my head and i want everyone else to see it like i’m seeing it, which is my downfall a lot. i’ve been trying to work on implicit stage directions.

18. thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

i think sometimes it’s necessary? it can be a good tool for humour, like with cussing that can’t be achieved in english. but while i understand and read several languages i have always always struggled to speak or write in them. it’s very frustrating so i often avoid the subject entirely lol.

19. first fandom you wrote for?

i’ve been writing fanfic in my head since before i knew what it was, but i started typing things at around 11 when i used to homestuck roleplay with my friends lol. messy messy times.

20. favorite fic you’ve ever written?

oh i am my own target audience. i have several.

i need a man (who’s patient and kind): keith-centric post canon (divergence) fic where lance takes him to his family and keith is good with kids and just keith being loved is the whole point. always.

what if i lose it all: an alternate universe where lance, as a baby, loses both his parents, and then is raised by his oldest siblings. in luis’ pov.

when does a ripple become a tidal wave (when does the reason become the flame): brogane fight & angst canon divergence post season 6; covering shiro’s guilt complex and keith’s unwavering loyalty

he’s into superstitions (black cats and voodoo dolls): halloween verse with witch lance and vampire keith! i have barely spoken about this au on here but rest assured i’m thinking about it all the fucking time

the applebee’s universe: modern au with young keith and lance learning how to love each other

ceilings (plaster): non-linear dream-like fic that’s just so trippy and strange i’m obsessed with it

if the sky comes falling down (for you) there’s nothing in this world i wouldn’t do: a keith character study about how the biggest bleeding heart in the universe loves

the hana universe: brogane-centric universe as their family starts rocky and grows

Yes, i try to respond to all of them! it means a lot to me when people take the time to comment, so i try to always take the time to give a response

Definitely this one. I used to have a no sad endings policy and this is the first thing i've ever written that's broken that!

What's the fic you've written with the happiest ending?

if i had words has a pretty happy ending! once the sequel is done it will have a VERY happy ending

Not in the sense of crossovers with two characters from two different fandoms. i love a good au though!

I don't think so. Occasionally I get comments that come off as a little rude, but I try to give people the benefit of the doubt and assume they didn't mean it like that

oof ok canonically i think stucky is kind of boring but some of the fics really went off

What are your writing strengths?

Hmm probably setting descriptions? i get a lot of compliments for the capri scenes in if i had words. sometimes i write decent smut but i dont consider it to be reliably something im good at, it can be hit or miss

What are your writing weaknesses?

planning, outlining, anything like that. there are many cases of me writing 90% of a fic and then taking a million years to post the final chapter because i'm not quite sure how everything is tied together at the end. usually i write 20%, stop and make an outline and then write the rest, but the outline for the ending is always so vague that it just doesn't really work out and it takes way more brain power than it needs to. i am aware of this. unfortunately i will probably never change.

What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?

this is such a good question okok so it depends a little? say its charles' pov and theyre speaking french. i usually just put it in english but indicate theyre speaking french because the reader knows as much as the pov does. but if someones speaking dutch i usually just say "x said something in dutch" because he doesnt understand it so neither does the reader. sometimes i put the actual dutch if doing it the other way would break the flow of it, but i dont provide translations unless its something that charles would understand

What's a fandom/ship you haven't written for yet but want to?

actually i dont know if there are any!! maybe piarles? yukierre? honestly though i'm pretty happy where i am <3

I am extremely fond of the Quick Transmigration genre as a whole in general, and it’s funny to me how complimentary it is to the superhero multiverse trope. It pops up and I’m flooded by so many brainworms at all the inconvenient times, haha, like while I’m at work or grocery shopping. So when I get hit by these The Name of the Game stray thoughts, especially about certain details and 🔞 butchlander scenarios of the arcs I have written down in my plot outline, I feel a lil dismayed because I am only one writer and we are only ch1 into the—so far—planned 135 chapters. 😂😭 So rather than waiting till it’s appropriate to write these lil extras and possibly forgetting or losing the creative drive I have now, while the fire still burns bright, I might as well take advantage of it while it’s going strong and feed y’all tiny diegetic bites here and there.

I like to think of these as fun sort-of-“canon”/ sort-of-“non-canon” What-If outtake scenarios that take place after or during the main story (135ch), kinda like the main story’s unofficial extras or unofficial side stories y’all can read as threadfics so it’s probably not an extra just dumped in randomly or willy-nilly in the main story itself on AO3 whilst this writer tries to shoot for the moon and catch up to our ambitious goalpost of 135chs.

So whilst this one is a weeeeee on the not-so-much-plot-but-smuttier side, because it’s Homelander’s birthday soon, I thought it’d be amusing to write a 🔞 spicy threadfic where TNotG’s Homelander ends up topped by almost all the Butchers I’ve ever written in my AUs thus far. Because why not? YOLO, and it’s convenient that this writer happens to have several long threadfics, Truce, and one AO3 fic that precisely allows for them to all crossover like some kinda butchlander superhero electric boogaloo multiverse on steroids.

So far I’ve only provided snapshot glimpses into the QT arcs that TNotG Billy had to endure, threaded into the threadfic itself, but I want you to know the entire time when I’m slipping in subtle story arc references to scenarios like this:

Because these so far only exist in my plot outline, none of these are considered TNotG main story official unless I publish it on the AO3 platform. I’d just rather write these now than let them gather dust and potentially never see the light of day, haha. It’s only a snapshot but :) what fun surprises I have awaiting y’all. So far in these two threadfic updates we got sneak peeks into the The Boys TV S1-S5 canon-compliant final arc pre-return home, the Showbiz/ Entertainment 3rd arc, and the Medieval Fantasy 1st arc. There’s one more arc I have yet to input, which is the 2nd arc and it just so happens to be my second favorite genre after the QT genre: the Unlimited/ Infinite Flow genre survival game horror. I also may or may not reference the other two arcs remaining (with one of them being A/B/O), but these diegetic bites are supposed to compliment the spotlight that’s gonna be on each Butcher (Butchers 1-5 & TNotG Butcher). 😌 Because what’s better than 1 Butcher? A spicy 6 Butchers “bullying” (affectionate) Homelander sandwich.

I tend to write fics with happy endings, and I'm not very good at like... knowing if my fics are angsty. My fic 'we met at the end of eden' was supposed to be the first one with a kinda angsty/open ending, but I don't think I'm gonna go that route

7. what's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

I think my lesbian destiel fic (which is currently called the great divide) is gonna be super fucking sappy. It's got everything: stanford era destiel, love, despair, hope, cowboys and a good ending for them. It's more of an idea and fantasy, so I have no clue if it's actually gonna be a real thing... just because I have no idea if I'm gonna be able to like... not get to personal about it lol

I mean, it's kinda weird? It always feels a little unnatural to me (as someone whose first language isn't english). So, I would write it into my fic, I think (especially when it's a language I don't speak and I would never write german stuff in my fic lol)

nah. i've been crazy lucky that, aside from the occasional (and likely unintentional) insensitive comment, people have always been super kind with my stuff <3 the deviantart days were a slightly different story, but why relive THAT time period, i ask you?????

nope. i'm not, like, opposed, i just don't think it would be good, and i've yet to write something where i felt it would add anything, so. nah. there are so many other things i can do to earn that m rating ;)

for sure did an organization xiii/sweeney todd crossover once, in the long-long ago asldkjflsakdjf recently, though, i guess i'd have to say reading & other fun rituals was a VERY self-indulgent way for me to smash the remedyverse and supermassive universes together!!!

eh, every time one of those "this site is scraping people's fics!" posts goes around, i end up finding my stuff, but in terms of bumping into an individual nabbing something i've written? not that i'm aware of! (i like to believe anyone reading would recognize the overabundance of adjectives and come tell me, ha!!!)

i've had people ask, but i've never seen a finished product, so probably not! i tend to write pretty long stuff, though, and i wouldn't wish that kind of work on anyone alsdkjflaskdjfksljfd

i have! none that are posted currently, but i've for sure co-written in the past. i'm also slowly but surely co-writing a fun little thing over here with my buds where our (totally cool and DEFINITELY not overpowered) self-inserts have fun being npcs in the federal bureau of control, so...keep your eyes peeled for that, heheheheh

sigh. soft reset 😔 it's a big ol' silent hill 2 timeloop fic that i started back in 2015 i think, and as much as i WANT to finish it...i haven't felt the silent hill muse strike in a hot minute. maybe once the remake comes out.

oh, i like to flatter myself that i'm pretty solid when it comes to character voices/interactions 😉 it's why i do so many character studies, honestly - i just *clenches fist* love studying characters!!! i also think my dialogue's fun

how much time do you HAVE??? hehehe i feel like i flounder when it comes to straight up-and-down fluffy/shippy stuff, like if the focus of a story is, for example, some sort of romantic gesture, i'm fairly lost. i'm also HORRENDOUS when it comes to keeping things concise, and god help me, every time i have to delete a passage and kill my darlings, i am miserable, so i tend to just...not do that

also? just putting it out there because i do consider it a weakness in regards to writing: sometimes my self-esteem with posting stuff is just. MISERABLE. so i have a tendency to get anxious before, during, and after hitting the post button, just really wallowing in those good, good I'M A FRAUD feelings, lmfao. i'm working on it, though!!! i love writing so much, sometimes the irrational part of my brain just worries i'm not Doing It Right, hahahaha
