I’m finally biting the bullet and contacting a therapist today after being ambivalent ab it for so long… this hellsite has its many disadvantages but one thing I can say is it has truly helped me be less scared of pursuing therapy. Silver lining etc etc

ive been thinking about labels and while i don't think there is a word for what i am exactly, the fact that terms like bigender and multigender exist is really comforting cos it proves the existence of other people who've felt like i have about their gender and attempted to make it heard. like i take it for granted a lot especially as someone who rejects categorisation but it is actually beautiful that there is a shared and understood language that can at least partially describe what often feels like a really lonely experience. even the word futch, which i used to see as a kind of superficial term limited to appearance, i actually find it comforting and familiar and a relatively accurate descriptor for what I am, to those who understand... anyway all this to say that labels are meant to be connecting forces, not dividing ones and we have to stop treating these terms and words as the be all end all of identity when they are only us trying to use language to scratch the surface of how we really feel for the sake of others and community. it's not meant to be a box you get into, but a like a name tag you can wear and take off freely. also stop telling other people how to explain themselves it's not civil war
