Aspec men deserve much more respect and recognition in the aspec community than they receive. They often face a different form of aphobia specific to them ("men are naturally sexual they can't be ace" "all men are unromantic that's not unique") this rhetoric is spouted by many, even members of our own community and I hope for a day where that is no longer the case. As an ace and demiro woman (demigirl but that's beside the point) I want to encourage folks to take the time to give the aspec men in their lives support and to the aspec men reading, you are who you say you are no matter what people say and you deserve the world. I'm sorry for the ways in which toxic masculinity has harmed you. You are a valued member of the aspec community and the queer community as a whole. No ace or aro person is broken and neither are you. I'm sorry if anyone has ever told you otherwise.

Bad: I donā€™t think people understand the effect QSMP had on some of the streamers in terms of likeā€¦ The real raw mental impact, so Iā€™m gonna set the stage for you. [...] Imagine that you were given a friend to play Minecraft with ā€” like your best friend ā€” BUT if this person dies, if they die in the game, you never get to talk to them again. Can you imagine what thatā€™s like?
Bad: If you did not live through the QSMP, if you did not live through that, it almost sounds like, crazy. But I donā€™t think people realize how much of a joyous experience the Eggs were. They were SO awesome! They were literally so awesome to just hang out with and spend time with.
Bad: Iā€™m not saying I regret it. To this day, I loved the experience. Iā€™d do it all over again in a heartbeat. Even knowing how everything went, I would still do it all over again. [...] I would still do it all over again, because ā€” even knowing like, all the trauma and sufferingĀ and stuff like that ā€” because it was justā€¦ It was just that fun, it was just that fun.
Tumblr media
Earlier today during his stream, Bad shared his experience and thoughts about the Eggs and the significant emotional (and traumatic) impact they had on him and his fellow QSMP members.
This clip a very edited-down version since his commentary was ~13 minutes long, so I highly recommend checking out Bad's VOD if you have the time. (Timestamp: 47:36 - 1:00:14)
[ Full Transcript ā†“ ]
ā€”ā€”ā€”
Bad: To be fair Chat, I really think the QSMP... I don't think anyone really can relate to it, Chat. It's something that's so... I've told people this before, likeā€“ but it's hard to understand. Right? Like...
Where was I? Sorry Chat, I'm losing my train of thought. Look, let me explain Chatā€“ here's the dealio, ok? Here's the dealio, and this is what I mean when I say like, it's important to keep this in mind, Chat. Ok? It's important to keep this in mind:
I donā€™t think people understand the effect that the QSMP had on like, some of the streamers, in terms of likeā€¦ The real raw mental impact, so Iā€™m gonna set the stage for you. This is the analogy Iā€™ve given to every person who Iā€™ve like, shared this with. Imagine you meet somebodyā€“ [He hears a strange noise] What the fudge was that? Did you hear that?
Anywayā€“ Chip! The story I was just relaying to Chat, Chip, was this: I was sharing this story with them, I saidā€“Ā  I was giving them an analogy.Ā
Imagine Chat, for example, imagine that you wereā€¦ playing Minecraft, with likeā€“ you were given a friend to play Minecraft with, Chat, like your best friend, and [unintelligible] were like, ā€œHey, you get to play Minecraft with this person, right? BUT if this person dies ā€“ theyā€™re currently your best friend, Chip ā€“ but if they die in the game, you never get to talk to them again. Ever again.ā€ Can you imagine what thatā€™s like, Chip?
I donā€™t think a lot of people understand like, what that does, right? Iā€™m not gonna say that like, it creates this situation, Chip, that like, messes with your head, but itā€“ Chip ā€“ but it totally, totally does, Chip. It messes with your head! It literally puts you in a position where youā€™re second-guessing and thinking about everything, Chip! Youā€™re thinking about EVERYTHING Chip! Ok? And thatā€™s the problem, Chipā€“ is you turn into a paranoid monster because of it, Chip! Like, you donā€™t understand Chipā€“ I was- I was so afraid of every dirt block, I used to carry a shovel with me Chip, and I would specifically right-click dirt blocks that looked suspicious because mines, Chipā€“ mines could not be shoveled! Like, I was crazy, Chip! But hereā€™s the problem, Chip: that craziness is still there. Iā€™m genuinely likeā€“
I remember thinking Chip, that I would one dayā€“ I was like, ā€œIā€™m going to move pastā€“ā€ here, letā€™s go up here, Chip. I remember thinking one day Chip, I was like, ā€œIā€™m gonna move past the underground base, one of these days. You know, one of these days, I feel like Iā€™ll be able to grow and achieve the desire to build a base that doesnā€™t have to be underground.ā€ But I donā€™t think itā€™s possible now Chip, because I thinkā€¦ I just donā€™t know. I feel like the paranoiaā€“ thereā€™s still like, residual leftover trauma from that situation, Chip.
But hereā€™s the problem Chip: I donā€™t think I donā€™t thinkā€“ I donā€™t think people understand it. Like, I just really donā€™t. But I also donā€™t blame them Chip, ā€˜cuz I donā€™t think itā€™s possible to fully understand it if you havenā€™t lived through it. Like, if you did not live through the QSMPā€¦ Iā€™m talking about the QSMP, I donā€™t- I donā€™t know if that was obviousā€“ if you did not live through that, it almost sounds like, crazy. But I donā€™t think people realize how much of a joyous experience like, the Eggs were. Right? I donā€™t think people realize it. Like, they were SO awesome! They were literally so awesome to just hang out with and spend time with, Chip. So, itā€™s just one of those things thatā€“
[Heā€™s interrupted by a loud rumble of thunder above them]
Did lightning just strike here? Is it thunderstorming outā€¦? But anyway, Chip. Thatā€™s the food for thought.
But thatā€™s the problemā€“ Like, every time it rains in Minecraft, I have to like, look at the sky, and I get this weird, like, second--hand vibe because of the trauma. The trauma, Chip! The trauma is real! But thatā€™s the pointā€“ Iā€™m not saying I regret it. I, to this day Chip, I loved the experience. Iā€™d do it all over again in a heartbeat. Even knowing how everything went, I would still do it all over again.Ā
[He falls down] Dangit, donā€™t come over here Chip, ā€˜cuz Iā€™m coming back up! Ok.
I would still do it all over again, because ā€” even knowing like, all the trauma and sufferingĀ  and stuff like that ā€” because it was justā€¦ It was just that fun, Chip, it was just that fun. I really wiā€“ I donā€™t think itā€™s ever gonna be possible, Chip, to give people that same energy, like that same experience. You know what I mean, Chip? I donā€™t think itā€™s ever gonna be possible again. Like, EVER.
Becauseā€¦ because like, one: I will say on one level Chip, I will say on one level, likeā€“ itā€™s sort of emotionally likeā€¦ Itā€™s emotionally devastating, and I think to actually go through thatā€“ and this is where like, if I ever do end up going to aā€“ see a therapist, if I ever do end up going to see a therapist at any point, Iā€™ll talk it over with them and be like, ā€œHey, what do you think about this?ā€ Because I genuinely think on one level, likeā€“ itā€™s created this fear of forming attachments because of like, how things can go. You know what I mean? Like, the fear of getting attached to something and then potentially losing it. Like, itā€™s- itā€™s a genuine thing. I think people forget about that.
Like, at the end of the day, everything was RP, right? On the server. You know what I mean? Like, everything was RP, Chip. BUT at the same point, even though it was RP Chip, it was still likeā€“ there the reality of you were still playing like, with another person, and you were still getting that experience, and it felt like you were genuinely attached to someone and you didnā€™t want anything bad to happen to them. It was GENUINELY stressful, Chip.
But at the same point, I donā€™t regret it, and I donā€™t think it was a bad experience. Iā€™mā€“Ā
Sometimes in life Chip, you go through stuff, and maybe you have a certain amount of like, things that like, can happen, that youā€™re like, ā€œYou know what, maybe this wasnā€™t a good thing that this happened,ā€ but at the same point, you still arenā€™t necessarily upset about it, becauseā€¦ itā€™s like growing as a person, right? Hereā€™s the thing Chip; even bad situations, Chip, can lead to an overall good outcome. Likeā€“
Even if youā€™re going through something bad Chip, just because a bad thing happens doesnā€™t mean that only bad things have to come from that. Thatā€™s one of the things I tell people all the time, Chip, is that if you go through a bad situation, you can learn from it, and you can use your experience to help others. And you can be thatā€“ you can be, at the worst-case scenario, you can be someone for other people who are going through that same experience to lean on when they go through that.I think thereā€™s a certain amount of comfort that comes from that; from knowing no matter how bad your situation is, youā€™re not the only person whoā€™s experienced it. You know what I mean?
#Badboyhalo#BBH#Bad#QSMP#January 8 2025#Edited#I know folks are going to add their two cents on this subject in the tags / comments / replies (and as always you're welcome to do that)#But for the sake of my sanity please don't be an asshole to any of the CCs / ex-admins / fellow fans / anyone else. Thanks#Most folks here don't need a ''Don't be a dumbass'' reminder but I had to block someone for that earlier and it was a bit disappointing#This is going to be a Tumblr exclusive clip because I don't trust Twitter to have common sense or common decency about this topic#Tumblr exclusive#Anyways business aside ā€“ that black line on the side is just part of Bad's stream btw. He just Has That#Took too long for this to render otherwise I'd edit it out because it's annoying#I'm just realizing this screenshot doesn't even have Dapper OTL but it's the best one I have so I gotta work with what I got#Honestly; I still miss QSMP dearly... I love the core intent of the project and the multicultural exchange#I love all the language barriers that were broken and I loved all the stories that were told and watching beautiful friendships bloom#But I am still so angry and disappointed about how things ended and all the poor communication and the admin situation as a whole#It's a complicated feeling#I agree with pretty much everything Bad says here#It's ironic that he uses that analogy because I've said almost the exact same thing when explaining why losing any Egg was so devastating#We weren't just mourning for the characters. We were mourning for the admins too#I'll never forget that last stream with Tazercraft and Richas; and Pac ending stream in tears#I wish they'd done away with the Egg life system. I wish they'd done a lot of things differently#If the project ever does come back in some shape or form I hope they are more transparent about things and have better communication#I dunno how I'd feel personally. They would have to do a lot of work regaining people's trust#And frankly I don't think they'll ever regain that trust from a large portion of the community#I remember near the start of QSMP I saw a comment from a fan that simply said ''QSMP; please don't leave me feeling bitter''#I think about that comment a lot

Prompt 266
Back on my Danny & Ras frienemies/rivals/maybe-lovers-nobody-can-tell-their-signals-are-very-mixed train.Ā
See, Danny has gone through time a lot. Often. It comes with being Clockworkā€™s charge-son-thing and honestly he finds it fun. And several times heā€™s used this time travelling to get some training in. Enter Ras, stage left, also a teen at the time and also learning swordsmanship from the same person.Ā
And theyā€¦ utterly despise each other. They would kill the other for an apple slice, if the other one would die! But also, only they can kill the other, as it is obviously their right!Ā
And well, they keep running into each other. It has been a hundred years, surely the other would die by now? But of course their rival would live through utter spite. Probably to spite them specifically.Ā
The amount of times they have ended up sparring- trying to kill each other or not- the moment they see the other is actually ridiculous. But time is also passing. Andā€¦ Danny understands, not having another to talk about things people are forgetting, or have already forgotten.Ā
How they ended up actually talking without a murder attempt was a long story that included a demon, a dragon, a pair of fae, some bandits, and a lot of alcohol, but it happened. And then it happens again. And again, and now itā€™s just kind of normal to share a drink after their spars, talking about things that no longer exist, and things they miss.Ā
Sure Danny can go back in time again, but he knows better than to do it willy nilly. Heā€™s matured, heā€™s been an adult for a hundred years now, he knows thereā€™s consequences for messing with time, even with Clockworkā€™s blessings.Ā
The first time they got married was technically for an undercover assassination. Well, Ras was there to assassinate someone, Danny was there to grab an artifact that should Not be in the realm of the living. And they got divorced after, it was fine.Ā
They just, also got married again when they met a few years later, for another job. Andā€¦ okay, so maybe they have gotten married over a dozen times now and only divorced like half of those times. Half of those were for the bit or while drunk!Ā
And even if technically theyā€™re married or shared a bed, itā€™s not like they're exclusive! As Rasā€™ daughtersā€™ existences attest to (adopted in one case or not). They donā€™t exactly have a label for their relationship, despite others asking for one or trying to put a name to it themselves.Ā
Now Danny knows Ras isnā€™t exactly a good dude, or at least on the side of ā€˜goodā€™ as heā€™s a literal assassin. But he also knows that good? Bad? Rather relative. He had gotten labeled as a villain when he was just trying to help all that time ago after all, and really who was he to tell someone else how to live their life?Ā
Which brings him to now, where heā€™s run into his old frienemy-rival and his youngest daughter. Who has a braindead teenager and a small toddler. Which is fine, really- but also, Talia dear, why are you using a brain dead teenager to guard your three year old son?Ā
ā€¦
Okay, Talia dear, Ras (Derogatory), why are you using your brain dead son and grandson to guard your younger son and grandson? Do you not have the Pits, which you were soo proud about Ras? Yes, he will spar with you, but for Realmsā€™ sake, heal, whatā€™s his name? Ah yes, go heal Jason and heā€™ll actually stick around for a few years, deal? Good.Ā

I love Raph and havenā€™t said that enough so to be more specific I love that Raph is a soft boy who loves bear plushies, a gross boy who eats an assortment of things that are definitely better left alone, a smart boy who is more than capable of taking down villains through planning and fortitude alike, a strong boy who is dedicated to training his muscles and fighting prowess, a teenage boy who loves his brothers but is more than happy to tease and roughhouse with them, an angry boy who sometimes lets his anger take a hold of him to cover the fear, a gentle boy who is generous with hugs and affirmations to those he loves, a capable boy who takes on more than should ever be expected of a teenager, a good boy who just wants to be a hero and slowly comes to realize the cost of that duty, a good boy who has no reservations about putting himself in the way of harm coming to his family, a good boy whoā€™s a great brother and son and person and deserves only the best the world has to offer.
#rottmnt#rise of the teenage mutant ninja turtles#rottmnt raph#rise raph#heā€™s so wonderful frfr#my poor boy is traumatized but still so proud of what they accomplished because theyā€™re HEROES#what started as something fun - Saturday morning cartoon-like heroes vs villains esque - soon becomes his calling#and he loses himself a little along the way#because the world is TERRIFYING now#if they donā€™t do something about the bad things in the world then worse things will come#and Raph CARES too much to let it happen#even at the expense of his own happiness and youth#and he luckily reigns back that fear - knowing his family is there to keep an eye out with him#and he finally lets himself be a kid again#heā€™s very well rounded and his flaws are so good because (like the others) they are ALSO his strengths#I like how itā€™s softly implied that bears are his fav animal too bc thatā€™s cute af#headcanon that he likes them so much because a stuffed bear was the first toy splinter managed to get Raph#but yeah one of my favorite things about tmnt is that the characters are well rounded and rottmnt exemplifies that immensely#with raph being no exception!!#amazing big brother and character#thereā€™s a REASON in my tmnt main character tierlist heā€™s S tier!!!!#hot take but in terms of who should be leader I think it should be less whoā€™s the better leader-#-and more whoā€™s the better leader FOR THIS SPECIFIC MISSION#bc all four can be great leaders fight me on that#APRIL can as well 100%#doesnā€™t need a designated leader for them to succeed#they just need ~communication~#one of my favorite things tying Raph and Leo together is that they both *hide*#Iā€™ve talked about Leoā€™s many masks a lot but Raph has one too#and itā€™s the mask of a hero - the mask of the protector

so sick and tired of the ā€œjedi are an evil and abusive cult that steals childrenā€ as if half the reason they werenā€™t protecting these children is bc sith were out killing them or TURNING THEM INTO SITH. they werenā€™t even STEALING children to begin with I thought we all knew that was Palpatineā€™s game not Yodaā€™s.

Danny, the Young Justice member snippet nr 1
these snippets aren't connected in anyway but just some little scenes I came up with, everyone is welcome to build up on them if they want to
unrelated snippet nr 2, unrelated snippet nr 3(?)
ā€œThank you, young man,ā€ elderly man, a civilian, said to Phantom, squeezing his shoulder when the boy transported him away from the battle into an established safe zone. Hero froze for a moment, blinking rapidly.
ā€œYouā€™reā€¦ welcome?ā€ he squeaked and flew back to fight the first chance he got, still dazed.
He was lost in thought the whole time he worked after that, rescuing some teen girls too curious, brave and stupid to run away on their own when they still had a chance. If Kid Flash didnā€™t warn him, one of the goons would land a really nasty hit, which should not have happened. Phantom had one of the best combat spatial awareness out of all of them. He couldnā€™t always react in time, but it almost never escaped him that an attack was coming.
Something was wrong. Really wrong.
That was why, as soon as the fight was over,Ā  Kaldur approached his teammate. He saw Robin doing the same.
Phantom, to give him credit where credit is due, didnā€™t fly away from the scene first given chance like always. Instead he sat in the space where they were transporting civilians, hand on his right shoulder, unseeing eyes locked on some cracks in the pavement. His mouth was moving without making a sound. He was covered in dust, like all of them.
ā€œPhantom,ā€ Kaldur asked through Mindlink ā€œare you injured?ā€
Ghost flinched and turned his head, giving the leader a shaky smile. His eyes were still distant.
ā€œYeah, no, Iā€™m alright. Sorry I was so out of it. Thanks for the rescue Wally, "the boy replied but his eyes slowly turned back to where he was staring before. Other than that, he hadn't moved.
ā€œPhantom, whatā€™s wrong?ā€ Robin tried, both out loud and through Mindlink. Now the whole Team was concerned.
ā€œIt's nothing, really,ā€ Phantom answered with a distant tone.ā€œ Justā€¦ something weird happen and I need a moment to wrap my head around itā€
ā€œWhat was it?ā€ Artemis asked bluntly before Conner did the Mindlink equivalent of smack on the back of a head. It was a bit weird to see Conner as the sensitive one. Black Canary was doing a great job with helping him over his anger.
ā€œLet him process it on his own before you demand answers,ā€ he growled.
ā€œAdult civilian thanked me,ā€ the ghost mumbled with awe at the same time. For a moment everyone froze in muted shock.
This explained so much while being so confusing. Yes, civilians tended to do it. It felt great. It didnā€™t warrant such an intense reaction.
ā€œThat's nice,ā€ Mā€™gann sent carefully after a long moment.
ā€œMhmā€¦ Really niceā€
Kaldur slowly put a hand on the arm Phantom wasnā€™t holding, to help ground him a bit. Despite his efforts, the ghost flinched under his touch.
ā€œWe need to go to a bioship and back to the Mountain. You should probably come with usā€
He expected a fight, he had various ideas how to convince younger boy but instead he heard quiet, small ā€œSureā€
Ghost didnā€™t move for a long moment.
ā€œPhantom?ā€ Robin asked and again, the response was a violent flinch.
ā€œSorry, sorry. I know itā€™s dumb Iā€™m just-ā€ he transmitted some sort of lowering melody that Kaldur didnā€™t know ā€œ-right nowā€
ā€œDid you just send Windows XP shutting down noise?!ā€ Wally yelled, exasperated.Ā
ā€œHe did,ā€ Robin snorted. Artemis laughed from one of the surrounding rooftops.
Phantomā€™s lips twitched with a minimal smile but it disappeared before it fully set. His brows furrowed as he stood up, shrugging Kaldurā€™s hand off in the process.
ā€œIs this publicly known that Iā€™m a ghost? Like, outside Amity? Or do people just assume Iā€™m a meta?ā€
ā€œAround 3% of discourse about you is ā€˜alive or notā€™-ā€Robin stated after few seconds of searching n his wrist computer ā€œ-with people saying stuff like ā€˜Iā€™ve seen him breatheā€™ but everyone else responds with some variation of ā€˜Are you really going to tell kid how heā€™s supposed to cope with being dead? Really Jared?ā€™ and the general consensus is that you are in fact a ghost. More people wonder what pronounce you use. Why?ā€
Phantom said nothing. Kaldur exchanged worried glances with Robin and called everyone else to meet by the bioship. It was a successful but tiring mission and they all wanted nothing more than to relax. After debrief because of course Batman would find things that couldā€™ve gone better.
Mā€™gann and Wally were already waiting by the time they got there. Martian was stiff and looked like she was focusing on some really hard task. She almost shut down the Mindlink.
ā€œPhantom, your thoughts are really loudā€ she whispered out loud ā€œLouder than normal ghost thoughts. Iā€™m trying not to listen or to transmit it on Mindlink but itā€™s pretty hard. Whatā€™s wrong?ā€
Kaldur remembered the conversation they all had almost right after Phantom joined the Team. As it turned out, ghosts as ā€˜the beings of emotionsā€™ had thoughts that Martians could read but on different frequencies than living, whatever that meant, and they were really loud. Like they were screaming on the top of their lungs.
Asphalt creaked ominously when Conner jumped down to join them.
ā€œSorryā€
Mā€™gann relaxed minutely before she got visibly angry.
ā€œI donā€™t mean ā€˜shield everythingā€™ Phantom, itā€™s extremely unhealthy, explain whatā€™s wrong?!ā€
ā€œSeriously guys, youā€™re all overreacting. Itā€™s not that deep.Ā  I'm just weirded out a bitā€
ā€œYour brain was screaming ā€˜It doesnā€™t make sense!ā€™ on repeatā€ Mā€™gann pointed out dryly, ending the Mindlink and motioned them inside the bioship right after Artemis scrambled down a fire escape and joined them.
Phantom skillfully ignored the concerned gazes of every member of the Team other than Mā€™gann who at least pretended to focus on flying. He looked like he was trying to figure out some really complicated puzzle.
ā€œWhat did this civilian say, exactly?ā€ Robin asked, breaking the silence with a surprising amount of caution in his voice.
ā€œHe said ā€˜Thank you, young manā€™ and squeezed my shoulder,ā€œ the ghost explained with a wistful and a bit hazy smile. It still didn't justify such an intense reaction ā€œI can still feel it. Tā€™was nice. Not strong enough to hurt butā€¦ sure? I didnā€™t do anything, really, and he most likely knows I'm a ghost, but he thanked me anyway. No senseā€
Halfway through Robin seemed to get an idea and once again started typing away on his computer. Phantom sunk into his seat more comfortably, but he quickly returned to distressed overthinking.
ā€œPeople rarely make sense,ā€ Conner pointed out.
ā€œNah, you just can't people yetā€ Wally grinned between bites of his granola bar.
ā€œNah, you're just an extrovert with superpowers. People make no sense,ā€ Artemis decided in a way that ended all arguments ā€œBut gratitude after rescue is pretty typicalā€¦ā€
ā€œNot for Phantomā€œ
ā€œWhat do you mean, Robin?ā€
ā€œHe means, I'm a ghost, Kaldur,ā€ Phantom started ā€œOf course they're not thanking me. I'm an ā€˜odd,Ā  manipulative and evil manifestation of post-living consciousness on ectoplasmā€˜ and ā€˜always hostile towards living but lack the sentience to comprehend moral aspects of my behaviorā€˜ and ā€˜should be eradicated for betterment of the living realmā€™.ā€ he recited almost cheerfully and it made something in Kaldurā€™s stomach twist. Judging by their faces, his teammates felt the same way.
ā€œYou donā€™t actually believe that, do you?ā€ Mā€™gann asked carefully.
ā€œIt doesnā€™t matter if I believe this or not. They do. Why would anyone thank me? Especially an adult. Teens apparently decided I'm hot so they support me, which is also weird, and kids think I'm cool because of the ectoblasts and can fly. They usually gush about being saved like ā€˜omg itā€™s Phantomā€™ which is still weird but not as surreal as anyone actually thanking. But that dude was probably on retirement. He wasnā€™t someone I would expect to have any positive interaction with. Most people his age would try to exorcize me or somethingā€
ā€œThat certainly isnā€™t an asterā€
ā€œEh, Iā€™m fine. Most are just yelling. Problems start when anti-ghost weapons, especially guns, get on the table but I canā€™t blame them for that one tooā€
ā€œDude, I cannot express how far from fine this isā€
ā€œYou deserve gratitude Phantomā€ Kaldur added ā€œYouā€™re doing a lot of great workā€
ā€œIf you say soā€
ā€œAlso, can we go back to the guns? How often do the people youā€™re saving try to shoot you?ā€ Artemis asked, raising her head from inspecting her arrows.
ā€œAmity Park is to ghost hunters what Gotham is to crime rates in the USA. Should not be counted if you want something actually similar to reality. Of course they have guns to shoot ghosts. And, let me remind you, I am a ghost-ā€
ā€œI think we can talk about it another time. How do you feel, Phantom?ā€ Mā€™gann interrupted from her seat, intensly not looking back at them. She once again was tense.
ā€œStill weird as hell to be honestā€
ā€œGood weird or bad weirdā€ she pressed on. Kaldur kinda wanted to know what made her do that.
ā€œGoodā€¦ I think? I know a lot of emotions because I hang out with Jazz Fenton and she pshychoanalizes everyone but I have no idea what to call this. Iā€™m happy that he said this, ecstatic even. But Iā€™m still confused and cautious. Some part of me keeps waiting for the other shoe to drop, for this man to come back, after realizing Iā€™m evil ghost and call hunters and call me manipulative ecto-scum while looking me in the eyes and smile when Iā€™m shot atā€
ā€œDid this happen? Itā€™s a bit too specific to believe it didnā€™tā€ Wally announced.
ā€œAs if only once!ā€ Phantom laughed in an almost hysterical way.
ā€œDonā€™t think about it right now,ā€ Mā€™gann demanded ā€œDo you want to tell us more about the thanks you got?ā€
Next words Phantom whispered as if he was sharing some important, sacred secret.
ā€œWhen he squeezed my arm, it was such a gentle gesture. Such a gentle touchā€ he sounded on the verge of tears.Ā
ā€œWas it?ā€
ā€œYeah... Sorry Iā€™m such a mess over itā€ ghost muttered after a moment, trying to dry his face with his sleeve. It couldnā€™t be too helpful nor pleasant, considering his uniform was made mostly out of rubber.
ā€œThatā€™s alrightā€
ā€œHe was so kind and likeā€¦ cautious too, yā€™know? Like he cared to not hurt me. When my dad pats me on the back, Iā€™m left out of breath and have to do a few steps to not fall face first on the ground and he thinks Iā€™m normal,ā€ it was always a bit disturbing to hear Phantom talk about his family in present tense. They never mentioned it because they knew when it was bad idea to say something but it didnā€™t make these instances any less unnervingā€œAnd this random civilian seen me as Phantom, almost invulnerable and powerful ghost and chose to be gentleā€
Nobody mentioned tears dropping from Phantomā€™s eyes and down his chin.
ā€œThat sounds niceā€Ā
ā€œIt was. And I, like an idiot, stuttered ā€˜you're welcomeā€™ and escaped as soon as I couldā€ ghost grumbled, bringing himself back from the memory. Robin actually laughed, honest and open instead of the creepy giggle he used on all sorts of villains. Everyone else soon joined and between breaths someone choked out:
ā€œI did this so many times. So many. I could probably buy a lollipop if I got a cent every time I did it. Maybe even twoā€
As soon as they werenā€™t at immediate risk of laughing to death Robin decided to risk it again by starting a captivating tale of clueless Batman holding a baby, getting pie as a present, getting pie in his face and few others.
When he finished, the comfortable type of silence stretched through the Bioship. Everyone was just contently resting, maybe even taking a nap before the ordeal of listening to Batman's ā€˜Every mistake you made today with sub and sub-sub categoriesā€™ lecture while keeping themselves from laughing after all the stories Robin just shared. Kaldur himself was almost asleep when Phantom whispered:
ā€œIs it this nice the second time too?ā€
ā€œYeah. Itā€™s even better when you start believing itā€

for anyone who has ever seen someone claim pansexual was coined on social media by teenagers in the early 2000s, the 2010s, and even in the past few years, and believed it or wondered if itā€™s true, or known itā€™s not true and been annoyed by the misinformation, this article is for you!
after listing out all of the claims iā€™ve seen, i succinctly debunk them by laying out a brief overview of pansexualā€™s history dating back to the 1960s, both as a term generally indicating universal appeal/inclusion and a term indicating sexual freedom/attraction to all genders. i include a look at pansexualā€™s use specifically within queer spaces, with a focus on bisexual spaces, as well.
i also touch briefly on omnisexual and polysexual existing in similar contexts to pansexual dating back to the 1960s. and finally, i discuss a little bit about how when, where, and by whom a label is created doesnā€™t determine the validity or usefulness of it, because these claims come with the implication that new labels, labels created by kids, and labels originating on social media arenā€™t legit forms of queer expression and identification.
happy pan week! šŸ„°šŸ’—šŸ’›šŸ’™
#pansexual#pansexuality#pan pride#pan positivity#pan week#medium#text#mine#and as always please remember that queer people have always played with language#and tweaked it until it worked for us and utilized what we felt seen by#and filled in the gaps with our own creations where we didnā€™t feel understood and left the rest#queer people expressing themselves in a way that feels authentic to them is always a good thing#truly donā€™t understand why the when where and by whom a label was created would matter more than someone feeling seen by a label#because while weā€™re talking about new labels made by kids online with regard to pansexual#so much of queer language has been reclaimed or repurposed from completely different (and often bigoted) origins#and people barely even acknowledge it. but suddenly the origin is crucial when itā€™s a label folks have a vendetta against#and listen. learning history is fun and important but we arenā€™t beholden to it.#we can have new meanings and uses and completely new words!!! itā€™s fine!!!! itā€™s not that serious!!!#maybe one day pansexual will fall completely out of use and people will find a different word to express it or something similar#and thatā€™d be fine. and maybe one day after that someone will come across an old post about pansexuality and decide it speaks to them#and it will all happen again. and that will be fine. language is like that. self-identification is like that.#yā€™all take all of the fun and joy and excitement out of finding or creating language that perfectly captures how we feel#and then finding a community of people who feel the same way we do#y'all focus so much on the parts that don't matter. find your language find your people that's what matters#not finding something to use against someone else who feels seen by a word you don't feel seen by#anyways. pansexual isn't new. stop spreading lies because you care too much about things that don't matter

One thing I wanna do more is include Battinson's complete lack of filter.
That scene at the funeral where Falcone tried to push that 'your father saved me for a reason' fantasy, which Bruce ended very quickly with his '' He took the Hippocratic oath" line
It can sure read as snarky, and in some parts, it was, -- Falcone's antourage surely saw it as that, -- but Bruce was completely serious.
It wasn't a diplomatic move on his part, but that's why it works. 'No filter' doesn't generally entail being rude and bold, it's your thoughts being faster than your mouth without considering how it'd sound out loud
Not to mention, Bruce wouldn't process sarcasm the same as everyone else. He's good at dishing it, for sure, but we've seen he's completely oblivious to obvious social ques,
If somebody were to be like, " haha maybe YOU'RE batman" him, the go to reaction would be " haha good one"
Bruce? Would start shaking on the spot. It's raining nerves out here. " No I'm not." With a blank face, " I'm not. I'm scared of bats. I hate bats. I wish bats never existed. I wish YOU never existed. Im sorry. Goodbye." Before taking off in a hurry.

I donā€™t think you guys UNDERTSNAD how important Edwin and Charlesā€™ relationship is to me as an aroace person. THAT is what I want from a relationship. Something such an obvious mix of romantic and platonic and I-donā€™t-even-know that all the lines blur bc the only important thing is that you love them like youā€™ve loved nothing else and are so devoted that you would do nothing else but love and protect and cherish them for all your worth. isnā€™t it the love that matters more than what type of love it is? why do their labels need to be so cut and dry? why does it need to be anything more? why canā€™t they just be? why canā€™t they love each other how they want to love each other? why do they need to be anything else?

Cellbit: But in my heart, he is my son.
Roier: Oh, that's fine, in your heart, yes. In your heart, yes. But actually-
Cellbit: He could have been my son, he could have been.

Sokka's sexism
Sokkaā€™s sexism from the earliest episodes is an interesting case, because the Southern Water Tribe, at least from what was presented to us on screen, doesnā€™t seem to operate that much on gender roles? Especially when compared to the Northern Water Tribe?
I mean, yeah, warriors (men) went to war, while women, children and the elders stayed at home. But as Hamaā€™s story shows, when Fire Nation attacked Southern Water Tribe, both female and male benders were fighting against invaders arm to arm and it seems like they were the actual first line of defense there, not the non-bender warriors.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In contrast, during siege of North Pole, in the final of Book 1: Water, we donā€™t see any female bender helping defend their home except Katara, who was involved in protecting Aang when he was in Spirit World.
Since all the waterbenders were captured from the Southern Tribe, it makes sense that non-bender warriors stepped in and got involved with war, while the kids and elders were left under womenā€™s care.
Another example comes from ā€œa ceremonial test of wisdom, bravery and trustā€, known as ice dodging. As Bato explained, it is a rite of passage for young Water Tribe members and in their village ā€œdone by weaving a boat through a field of icebergs.ā€ When a child turns 14, their father was supposed to take them to ice dodging, so they could earn their mark. Though the episode itself was focused on Sokkaā€™s ceremony, Bato never specified it as something that boys alone should do and not only Katara (girl) but also Aang (outsider) is allowed to take part in the ritual. Once Sokka proved himself, everyone of their group got a mark, as a sign they passed the test. Interesting thing to note, since Bato did not specify it is a rite of passage for boys alone, it suggests girls were expected to know how to sail in boats of the Southern Water Tribe. Of course, again, war didnā€™t allow to continue this tradition as men (Hakoda, in case of Sokka & Katara) left to fight against Fire Nation.
Later, when Sokka and Katara reunited with their father, Hakoda did not try to send away Katara nor relegate her to just a medic job during the invasion. In Northern Water Tribe episodes, we learned that teaching for waterbenders there was defined by gender - women were allowed to learn only how to heal, while men how to use their bending in fight. Hakoda, nor Bato nor other of their warriors even for a moment questioned Kataraā€™s presence on the battlefield nor the presence of women in the ranks of their allies like a blind, 12 years old Toph or the female water benders from Swamps or female(?) soldier from Earth Kingdom
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And during battle, Katara did not fight in rank with other soldiers, she first alone secured Appa during submarine attack, then alongside her brother and father took down guardhouses - Hakoda himself told her and Sokka to attack one when he took down the other one
Tumblr media Tumblr media
showing how much he trusted his 15 years old son and 14 years old daughter while ordering them attack on Fire Nation adult soldiers hidden in well guarder place.
Later, when Hakoda got seriously injured and Sokka temporary took the command of their forces, we could see that Hakoda relied on Katara to follow his troops and not ever once tried to send her back ā€œto safetyā€ or argued she should leave him behind, as often it happens with heroic (male) figures. Quite the opposite. When Katara offered him to ā€œwait here if you wantā€, Hakoda firmly said ā€œI want to press forward with the othersā€, which meant his daughter needed to come with him directly into an already ongoing fight (even if they stayed more at the rear of their army, they were still on battlefield).
She and her brother, alongside with the youngest members of Invasion, were forced to flee on Appa once the battle was lost, but no other adult woman was included. During Zukoā€™s coronation, when all war prisoners were released, in the background we could again see the female character(s) from Swamps.
Tumblr media
And let's not forget how impressive Hakoda was by Suki when she single-handedly captured the warden at Boiling Rock prison and did not try to stop her from fighting against Ty Lee alongside Zuko and Sokka against Azula.
Understandably, we have no idea how the Southern Water Tribe and its culture looked like before the war, even arguably, the characters themselves may not have a clear idea due to growing up in dire times. But my point is, Hakoda and Bato, the two main adult Southern Water Tribeā€™s warriors that Avatar: The Last Airbender allowed us to know more about, have never shown any direct sexism toward Katara or other female characters. And though Sokka was the oldest boy at their village, there is no reason to think women did not hunt in absence of men, because one person would not be able to provide for a whole community 24/7. Also, as Hama proved, the Southern Water Tribeā€™s waterbenders were capable of fighting and their gender did not play any vital role the way it happened in their sister tribe at North Pole.Ā
Of course, Fire Nationā€™s repeated attacks affected residents of South Pole and their living conditions but from the little bits the show gave us, I think it is correct to assume if Sokka grew up with Hakoda around to guide him as he should, his behavior would be different from the sexism and dismissive attitude toward Katara or Kyoshi Warriors. For one, logically thinking Southern Water Tribeā€™s warriors need to do all the cooking, sewing and keeping their camp clean all on their own during war so it is not a ā€œgirly jobā€ but a vital part of a warriors skills to survive and ensure their equipment is in the best condition. But Sokka doesnā€™t know it, because there is no one to teach him the importance of those skills. All Sokka had was fatherā€™s farewell words to cling to - and Iā€™m not sure if Hakoda truly expected his son to be able to protect Katara and the village in his absence, or he just tried to make Sokka feel a bit less depressed about being left behind. You know, by giving him purpose and a Big Important Job to focus on and to feel needed and trusted.Ā
Which leads me to think that Sokkaā€™s sexism is not rooted in Southern Water Tribeā€™s culture itself, but in his own insecurity and pressure of being the oldest boy in the village. If girls could be warriors - and be better than him - it would put into question all his self-worth, purpose and the trust given by father. Once Sokka met Kyoshi Warriors and later all the skilled girls, it challenged him on a very personal level, but he accepted the truth and moved on and alongside, finally became a true warrior and a man.Ā
And I find it indeed an interesting case, as Sokkaā€™s sexism and dismissal of girls is not necessarily stemming from the culture he is part of, but rather is the effect of not knowing said culture & pre-war history of his Tribe. And of course, from his own insecurity.Ā

We all know that the reason why Bruce Wayne isn't religiously Jewish is because dc are cowards, but also because many of the community itself is cowards. I personally believe it comes from a lack of knowledge about what it even means to be religious because most of the community is Christian or culturally Christian. So as someone that would probably be considered not religious by Christians, but Religious by most other Jewish people, I think that Bruce Wayne fits in this section of being Jewish.
Bruce can't go to the Synagogue often because of the whole being Batman stuff, but he still goes on the high holidays when he can. He celebrates with the Kane family as well! And Kate would obviously understand if he couldn't come because she's Batwoman! Give me a Bruce Wayne says Yiddish curses. Give me a Batman that has a bunch of Chanukkiot that are just so pretty because they are rich and definitely have a ton. Give me Batfamily shabbat dinners when they are able to. Rest days on Saturday for the Jewish members when they are more members in the Batfam to make it work (and it being a mitzvah when he does have to be Batman on Shabbat because its a mitzvah to save a life). Give me Mezuzot on every entryway. Give me a Bruce Wayne who inherited his mother's seder plates and actually uses them. Give me a Bruce Wayne that says stuff like kein ayin hara before giving good news! Give me a confused Dick Grayson when Bruce insults him (its actually a compliment, but to ward against the evil eye you will say the opposite of what you mean) and then Bruce having to explain after he realizes that Dick has no idea why he just insulted him. Give me a Batman that follows Jewish values (more than he canonically does)
Just because someone ins't actively involved within a wider community of that Religion doesn't mean they aren't Religious! Or at least don't give me a culturally Jewish Bruce Wayne that doesn't do any of this. Thats just you stripping away all the Jewish parts of him.
Bruce Wayne is Jewish and you can't just ignore that
#The kane family is there from when he is a kid to when hes an adult#meaning they definitely had a hand in raising him#I think its very odd that alfred the bodyguard turned butler of the waynes to have been the one to canonically raise him#while his entire maternal side of the family is still alive and kicking#like guys please come on#and also I think it would be very weird that alfred didn't bring Bruce to his maternal family#that would just be out of character imo#but yeah I think its very small minded to think of being religious as a belief in god and going to church#because that is a very very small portion about what it means to be religious to me#also! I based off the Kane's name origin it would be very likely for the Kanes to be Irish Jews#oh and one more thing#Just because I consider him to be just Jewish doesn't mean that its impossible for him to be dual faith#We have no idea what religion Thomas was#we could say christian#but I like to say thats from Alfred and any christian stuff that the Batfam celebrate is not because of Bruce#but is actually from Alfred and any of the kids that are Christian/culturally Christian#nevermind have another thought on top of this mess#why would Richard Grayson ever be considered christian#press x to doubt#while I know nothing about Romani religious practices and I know that is on purpose from their community which I respect#the community does know that Dick is Romani#meaning he would follow their religious practices#which I think he would follow extra hard after the death of his parents#and there is also the argument that he could be jewish if he was raised in a household that is Jewish and holds Jewish values#but yeah the Wayne manor has only one confirmed christian in it and its Alfred#batman#batfam#bruce wayne#kane family#kate kane
