Early 20s. I have her being 19 when she was exiled, so depending on how long she was gone to start of game... let's say 22ish.

Oh, she's a big pessimist.

5. Are they introverted or extroverted?

Introverted until she gets to know you then you can't get rid of her.

6. How do they display affection?

7. What is their greatest fear?

Losing her way/purpose. Exile really fucked her up, Viago was her guiding light.

8. Do they have siblings? Older or younger?

Nope. Maybe. She was by herself when Vi found her and she barely remembers her life before that

9. Did they grow up nurtured or neglected?

*waves hands around* she's an orphan who was raised by Viago (and Teia)

10. What is the worst thing they did to someone they loved?

Probably fighting Viago when he exiled her.

11. Has anyone ever saved their life?

Viago on multiple occasions. He plucked her from near death (not dead enough NOT to ask him for the dagger that killed his mark who hurt her) and decided that a girl named Hemlock was too good to leave behind.

During training, there was an incident with a boy that slit her throat, she used her magic to cauterize the wound and killed the boy. Viago cleaned the burn and pulled her from general training.

Hem is prone to Sad Bitch Hours (she takes after me, like all my ocs) and felt particularly alone in the lighthouse helping everyone work through their shit. Lucanis steadies her, he gets it, he understands responsibility and expectations.

12. Do they believe in love at first sight?

No. She probably more than likely finds Lucanis interesting and going forward, finds comfort being around him.

13. Are they in a relationship?

She and Lucanis eventually got there.

After the Pantry Incident™️, Hem resolved that "oh, well he's gonna be first talon and I wouldn't wanna be around me either" and puts him at a healthy distance again, doesn't really seek him out, etc. I imagine Teia noticing their little looks and then after The Incident, it's Lucanis looking at her with his distant wet cat eyes and Hem just like "no he just looks like that".

HOWEVER, Hemlock gives in and stays in her room in the Cantori Diamond for the first time since leaving, kinda emo.

Can't decide what event it's after, but she needs a shower, and just sitting there after and oops Lucanis walks in and Hem tells him to stay bc "oh I can't have the Demon of Vyrantium running from my room, what will the Fledglings think" and Keep In Mind: Hem Naked (in a towel but you know) and Lucanis wanders her room looking at her trinkets and settles behind her. Intrusive thoughts (Spite) wins and he touches her hair bc he's likely never seen it down and unbraided.

Anyway, there's body oil and a massage and 😌🤭 and they Discuss Their Feelings.

14. Has your character ever been in love?

No, she's been Interested in people and that backfired when she was in training. Hem wasn't particularly interested in relationships, probably a bit on the demi side. Kinda see her having a lil fling with Chance Candide or something to fulfill her Seduction Training.

She's mouthy, but needs to be feral and attack sometimes.

16. What is their choice of weapon?

She's partial to using her staff and orb. She does prefer the element of surprise.

17. How many weapons can they use?

Staff, orb and dagger, poisons, teeth if necessary.

18. If they could save one person, who would it be?

Before everything, Viago. After the Exile... Probably Lucanis.

19. What is their greatest regret?

Not being Enough, never meeting expectations although she tries her best.

20. How do they respond to a threat?

Someone: I'm gonna kill you!

Sam is Adopted

So! Have you ever noticed how Sam doesn't look like either of her Parents? Her Mom and Dad are Blonde and Ginger, and neither of them have Purple Eyes. How would Sam ever come from either of them?

She tells people that she dyes her Hair and wears Contacts, but the reality is that she was adopted as a baby by them. They had just found out that Pamela was Infertile and they wanted an Heir foe their company, so they decided to Adopt a kid.

But the Adoption Agency didn't have any kids who would realistically look like them, so they just got the first kid they found.

She had been left at the Orphanage by her Mother citing an inability to raise her and an unstable income. She never told the Agency her name, but told them that the baby's name was Sam, named after her Grandfather.

Sam was raised knowing that she was Adopted, but never really put much interest into it. Until one day when she decided that her adoptive Parents support of the Anti Ecto Acts was a step too far for her. She took an Ancestry DNA Test to see if she could find her Bio Mom to get away from them.

The results came back, and she found out that her Mom was a woman from Metropolis named Lois Lane.

In your Spitfire AU, since Zuko is looking after Lu Ten II, what happened to Ursa?

Zuko is slightly older in the Spitfire AU. He was banished at fifteen, his head a little clearer and denial a little weaker than in canon. After his first look through the Air Temples, Zuko decides that if he can't find a myth, he might as well search for the next best thing.

Finding Ursa isn't easy, but in time he makes it to a secluded house in a near-forgotten part of the world. His mom is there, older and stronger and alive.

But she isn't alone.

And Zuko, as it turns out, didn't keep the best company during his search.

When Ursa is discovered and her secrets are laid bare for assassins (for Ozai) to find, she begs Zuko to take his little brother and run. She'll do anything it takes to protect her children, even if that means leaving them behind to keep a target off their back. Ursa diverts attention from them and allows Lu Ten's ancestry to be kept a secret. She orders Zuko not to follow her again, and disappears.

Zuko is left with a little three-year-old brother to raise and a mother he cannot hold onto.

Yknow what yeah maybe Bianca didn’t actually have to raise Nico after their mom died because they were put in the Casino where they were both looked after and were only there a week then immediately got put in a military school where they would’ve been separated and looked after anyway. But maybe they were also born into 1940s Italy where men are coddled and women are mummified from birth and she would have felt the pressure to look after him anyway. Maybe she worried about him like a mother, and felt that worry grow after their mother died, and maybe she was scared of it because she knew she would let it become her if she stayed near him. And she wasn’t ready for that, so she did the only thing she could think of. She ran.

trespasser wedding with sera and my viv/bastien kid (who has been named luciana and nicknamed lucia/lucy/luce!! inspired by @kitkaedatidler who suggested lucienne 🫶!) hits so different with the added tension of lucia being bastien's bastard. in what i have for her so far in terms of lore, bastien's son and lucia's half-brother, laurent, raises lucia's status as a recognized bastard/potential heir as it was bastien's wish before he died, and it causes. so many interpersonal issues for lucia. namely with the fact that since lucia is both inquisitor and has the blood of such a prestigious family, there is a constant pressure from other noble families of orlais to try and form alliances through marriage. lucia has no interest in becoming any more involved in orlesian politics than she already is, has no interest in marrying or having children with any of them, and it is a massive strain on her when she's already struggling with everything going on with the inquisition, solas, and the anchor actively trying to kill her.

sera's solution is to, of course, marry her. no bigger way to flip the finger to the entire court of orlais than to have the inquisitor marry an elven fereldan woman who fucks over nobles on a daily basis.

Melanie King deserved better in a lot of ways, but I've decided one of them is that she should've been born a decade or two earlier and gotten the chance to meet Gerard Keay.

Imagine if, instead of being snapped up by Elias for having "a life shockingly lacking in any meaningful connections", she could have made contact with the only person around who's both just as isolated and angry, and equipped with the setting's one and only productive plan to do something about it. Gerry's bookburning is one of if not the only bits of real, tangible good succeeded at in the course of this story - something not even Gertrude's many sacrifices managed to fully achieve. He took terror out of the world. He prevented who knows how many people from experiencing Leitner's horrors, and he did it with a flaming abandon that would have validated all of the anger Melanie sought a home for in that bullet when it had no other.

Those two couldn't have saved the world, but they could've ripped a damn good hole in the things that tried to claim it before it went out, and I think they would've both been much happier for it, especially Melanie. Just imagine what could have been, if they'd gotten one long road trip crusade together instead of facing the world alone save for whoever thought them handy as a tool. Imagine Melanie during season 4, on the road and able to funnel all her restless rage into something that actually deserved it. Going wherever she wanted at top speed instead of being stuck with containment and waiting, being able to say "it's not bloody fair" and get a "damn right it's not" in agreement instead of distraction and pushback from people more preoccupied with stopping the things they'd already had their own time to process. Gerry burning books in a Tesco parking lot with Melanie as lookout. Melanie kicking the pile hard first before he lights it up. The two of them helping each other touch up their roots in a rest stop bathroom. Just Imagine.
