↳ this is based on a dream i had abt him lol anyway i have like 5 diff fics i’m writing and i have only this one finished lmfaooo anyway anyway i also wanted to say sorry for not posting anything in 10 whole days i’ve been a little unmotivated but i’m not gonna be posting for a bit as i’ll be having some family members visiting and unfortunately they speak english and might catch me writing these… HSR x reader fanfics are not something i’d like them to know i write 😍😍 ANYWAY ANYWAY ANYWAY THEY’RE COMING TODAY SO I DECIDED TO CUT THE FIC SHORT MAYBE I’LL CONTINUE IT SOON THOUGH
“Blade, I promise. I’ll always be there to clean you up and take care of you when you’re hurt.”
It feels like years since you made that promise to him. And you regret it. You didn’t know what you were getting into by involving yourself with this man. Blood soaks into your shirt as you look down at him. He’s definitely dead. While you knew of his immortality and regenerative abilities, you can’t help but be a little worried. What if… he doesn’t wake up this time? Blade would certainly want that, but you’re not sure what you’d do without him. His features are soft in the gentle starlight, and he looks… at peace. The only other times you could see him like this were when he was sleeping. After a few more minutes of just admiring him, you remember what you’re supposed to be doing. Your hands grab him from under his arms, pulling him along the cold ground, huffing as you do so.
“Why did you have to go get yourself killed…” you mutter to yourself. Blade is far too heavy for you to carry, so you’re forced to drag him around instead. Even then, it’s a demanding task. Your home was still around a couple of kilometres (roughly a mile) away. You felt like a murderer, bringing around the bloodied body and leaving trails of blood. How were you meant to go back to your neighbourhood like this? Your clothes and hands soaked in scarlet fluid, a dead man in your arms. Under the cover of night, perhaps no one would notice. You grunt as you hoist Blade up a few steps of stairs. Walking backwards, you don’t realize that you’re about to walk into a wall. Until you bump against it, of course.
You crash down to the floor, a piercing pain attacking your skull. Leaning against the wall, you try to lift Blade onto your lap. The effort of lugging him around and the throbbing pain in your head leave you huffing for air. You wipe your crimson hands on your thighs before hugging Blade against you.
“Do you have to be so reckless, Blade…?” You shut your eyes tight, trying in vain to block out the headache. “How am I meant to take care of you…” You hold him close, your face pressing into his back and his dark raven hair.
“I made a promise to you. So, now… I have to take you back home. Try to make this easy for me, okay?” His familiar scent filling your lungs is almost enough to make you completely forget that he’s a corpse as of now. Blood pools around you, soaking almost every inch of fabric covering you. Is it normal for someone to have this much blood? You can’t even tell where it’s coming from, seeming to just flow out of him.
“I love you…” you whisper, planting a gentle kiss on his head. Closing your eyes again, you try to catch your breath before having to drag him off again. When you finally decide to get up, the light of the stars seems to illuminate a path for you, leading the way home. Maybe that’s why they call it Stargazer Navalia.
After a few more minutes of struggling, your pocket buzzes. You’d forgotten that you were keeping Blade’s phone on you. Quickly reaching for the phone, you realize that it could only be one of the Stellaron Hunters.
You put the phone down and breathe out. Both at Silver Wolf’s ridiculousness and in relief that you won’t have to lug around Blade alone anymore. ‘Dear beloved one and only’ is a huge stretch. Though, it was a little nice for her to recognize your… relationship. The Stellaron Hunters were almost like your in-laws, after all.
“Blade? We’re gonna be home soon. Kafka said she’d come help me out.” You can’t help but let out a little chuckle. “I’m so helpless… I can’t even bring you back by myself. At least you’ll be safe soon, though. You’ll be in bed and awake before you know it, Bladie.”
He hated that nickname — saying it reminded him of someone he’d rather not associate with you — but you couldn’t help but call him it sometimes.
Knowing that Kafka is on her way, you decided to settle down for a little and wait for her. But before you can even sit, Blade’s phone vibrates with another notification.

Villain Introduction: Vermir Nadvalsib, the Mage Eater
“I don’t think you know the opportunity that’s being given to you, girl,” Vermir addressed. “I’m working towards a better world, ruled by gods who know what it’s like to be mortal. There will be no disease, no hunger, no tyrants…. Or no selfish ones, at least. It’s going to take a strong hand to bring this about, and that hand needs fingers to work with. I’m offering you a place at my side.”
Fana looked down at the woman’s outstretched eikodoro hand and spat in it. The girl’s tawny eyes flashed as they caught the pale light of Vermir’s runes.
“You’re one of those crazy book mages, aren’t you?” She barked a laugh. “Go fuck yourself. My father will be here soon and you’d better pray it’s him who gets here first, because if Aunt Tw—”
Fana’s threats broke off with a sucking gasp as Vermir’s dagger found her heart. All at once, reality stilled the girl’s fiery tongue. It was shocking—bad things could happen, even if your family had all the power in the world.
Gently, Vermir laid the spasming girl down, Twelve and Ten stepping to the side. “Don’t worry, sweet Fana, this’ll be over soon,” she whispered. “You’re going to become something great. You’ll be the newest of a new order. You’ll save the world.”
Blood coated the girl’s teeth as she stared up at the silver faceplate that would be the last thing those eyes would ever see. Vermir kept one ocular rune on her arcane signature—a swirl of molten, particolored glass. It faded, growing dimmer and dimmer as the life leaked from her breast.
“I’ll k— kill you,” Fana breathed, eyes wide and glassy. “My family… save me….”
Vermir saw the exact moment little Fana Devaris died. To her magical senses, it seemed as if the girl’s arcane signature exploded, a million glowing particles spitting out like sparks from a forge.
From her pocket, the mage drew a vial of black ichor. The spirit blood was the key—the biocomponent—that allowed her to suck magic from a sorcerer, just as that sorcerer’s blood was the biocomponent that allowed some fragment of their mind to survive in a metallic body.
"This will all be over soon," Vermir whispered, though the girl could hear her no longer. "This will be over and, oh sweet thing, you'll be something better."
Spoilers for Mystery of the Mortal God below
Vermir Nadvalsib was born on the Janazi island of Laben, about five hundred years before the plot of The Mystery of the Mortal God takes place. She lived there peacefully, serving as their village mage. It was a good life, and she loved her community like nothing else, treating their sickness and improving their infrastructure. Unfortunately, there eventually came one problem she couldn't fix.
Aderin flu is all but eradicated in modern-day Janaz. However, five hundred years ago, it killed islanders by the thousands. When the disease came to Laben, Vermir worked tirelessly to find a cure. She was never successful. In time, she felt the claws of the disease curl around her lungs as well, and so she turned to darker sources. She just needed more time to work out a cure. She just needed the right magic.
Vermir knew that Chosen, those blessed by the gods and given the power to work miracles, were capable of healing the sick. She also knew that no god has more than one Chosen, and that all the Illarian gods were taken. So, she sought this power from an alternative source.
In an ancient Araunian tablet passed down to her by her predecessor, Vermir read about a spirit of antiquity, feared by the long-dead desert people. They called it only the 'dark beyond.' Vermir thought she would be able to ask this old god to make her its Chosen, and thus use its power to make herself immortal so she'd have the time to make a cure to save her people.
Unfortunately, the being she called upon was no god.
End, though Vermir never learned its name, tore through Laben out of the portal she opened. It devoured the divine souls of the townsfolk and grafted their echoes onto Vermir before the ritual failed and it was pulled back into outer space. This rendered her semi-immortal and nearly broke her mind. The whispers of the people she inadvertently killed hiss through her skull in a constant murmur.
The Chosen of the Illarian church, deployed because of the End influx, found her all but comatose. The power flowing through her was too raw at the time for the Chosen to kill her, so they tossed her in the Trench. She didn't need air anymore, after all.
For five hundred years, she languished in the ocean floor prison. She came to blame the gods for her failed ritual. Why had they sent the Aderin flu if they cared for mortality at all? Why had the Chosen come to arrest her, but not to cure her people? Why was there cruelty in the world at all if the gods could prevent it?
Her hate calcified into a grand plan. First, Vermir would find herself a perfect, unkillable form, finally finishing her trip towards immortality. Second, she would find a way to steal sorcery and give herself a godly amount of power. To do all this, she would capture a spirit and use its divine knowledge and alchemically powerful ichor to fuel her plans. It took her many centuries to work all of this out.
She escaped the Trench by causing a magic blackout, using the tooth of a 'beast blessed by the dark beyond' she managed to find in there. (Not that Vermir would know, but that tooth would be none other than Izjik Meautammera's, which she lost by hitting her head on a rock) (The magic blackout she caused also allowed Sepo and Izjik to escape). She waited until the gods sent a spirit to investigate the surge of strange magic, then captured that spirit and pulled it into a mobile demiplane she spent her time in the Trench constructing.
After that, she just needed to find some sorcerers whose magic she could steal, and who she could put into robotic bodies as a test run for her own perfect form. It's just a little unfortunate for her that the sixth experimental subject she chose was a little more... willful than the others.
And the rest is history!
As a person, Vermir really believes that usurping the gods to rule in their stead is the right thing to do. She thinks that mortals deserve to be ruled by a mortal, and once her utopian empire is solidified and all disease and war are eradicated, she really does intend to step down to let people rule themselves. The one thing that she doesn't care about is how many people she needs to kill to get to this point. A mass slaughter of sorcerers is just the price that must be paid to give her the power to save the rest of the world. She's giving those sorcerers immortality, after all, in the form of metal bodies. Why should they be upset?
Her main weakness is her temper. Vermir likes to see herself as above such petty things, but when someone pushes her buttons, she loses her cool incredibly fast. This makes her sloppy.
Her main strength is that she's a legitimately good god-queen. At the current point in the story, she's taken over a city and executed its ruler. The people love her because she distributes food fairly, runs a judicial system that cares about more than money, gives free medicine to the sick, and provided heating runes to defend against the frigid climate to an extent that the old regime never did. Apart from her transfer for sorcerers into brainwashed metal bodies and stealing of their magic, all of which she keeps secret from the masses, she's an incredibly benevolent tyrant.
As for what she looks like, as she first appears, Vermir is a shriveled bog mummy of a woman. Her face is leathery and she has no hair. Her brown eyes are adjusted to the Trench's darkness. Later, she finds herself in a towering metal form made of pale silver eikodoro - the siren god-metal. No matter if she wears flesh or metal, Vermir is wreathed by a cowl of shadows, which are the chattering remnants of Laben's populous. She doesn't have the heart to get rid of the last echo of her people, no matter how annoying they might get.
Now for fun facts, I guess?
Vermir, for all the grief she's caused him, doesn't know Mashal's name. She just calls him Six, because he was her sixth subject.
She has some serious beef with Astra because the witch stole her notes, even though she sees a lot of herself in the younger woman.
Her first round of experiments (One through Seven) were done to perfect the transfer process of putting a mind in a metal body. The rest of the sorcerers she kills and stuffs into metal bodies are brainwashed into serving as her soldiers.
At this point in the story, after conquering a city known for its sorcerous university, she has the power of upwards of 15,000 sorcerers at her disposal. This would make her more powerful in sheer destructive capabilities than many minor spirits.
She has canonically used the words "ran through" to describe a library.
I imagine her with a New Jersey accent because it's funny.
She intends to find a way to put her metal soldiers back into fleshy bodies should they want it once her conquestest of the world and usurpation of the gods is over.
Frankly, Vermir is one of my favorite villains because she just has so much personality. Also, if someone showed up, killed the president on live TV, then declared that they were the predisent now and healthcare, food, and rent were now free, I'd probably get behind them too if that's all I knew. Lmk if you have any questions and I hope you enjoy my cunty little Glados ripoff <3

Oh, the last section of chapter 1 of The Ashes At Thy Feet, with Elurin!
Yay! always glad to talk about this one!
Nimloth is, to me, one of the saddest characters to think about. Among Elf-Man or Peredhil marriages, she’s the only one to not share the fate of her spouse[1], and also the only one whose spouse dies permanently by violence (I’m not counting Beren, since Lúthien got him back). Beren and Lúthien both become mortal, Aragorn and Arwen become mortal, Eärendil and Elwing become immortal, Tuor is implied to have joined Idril in immortality and elfhood in the end. But Dior is mortal, the child or two mortals; he is killed and leaves the world, and Nimloth is torn from him, and with the melding of souls that characterizes Elven marriage I think it must feel like your spirit being ripped in two, and never restored after. That, and her own violent death, would be traumatic enough; but then her two young sons are also killed, not even quickly in battle (which would be horrible enough), but dying slow and lingering deaths of exposure, and she is dead and can do nothing to help them. It’s nightmarish, and I tgink it would be very hard for her to ever recover from it. The Valar, I think, wpuld see her pain and feel that her best or only chance of recovery could be if she was restored to life with her children; but, as seen in the fic, I think she would have trouble moving on from that moment, from needing the reassurance that her little boys are safe and with her (and Peredhil children grow up so fast for an Elf!); and so suddenly her children are gone again and these strange adults are claiming to be them. It would be extremely painful for everyone.
Eluréd and Elurín going to live with the Avari has been my headcanon for them ever since I started thinking about their postcanon fate. I don’t want them to die and be mortal - that’s simply too cruel to Nimloth on top of everything else, I don’t think she’d ever recover - but their place among Elves after rebirth would be very strange. They’re immortals who are defined by an atrocity committed against them while they were young children; the people who knew them or were part of the Doriathrim or were even aware of events in Middle-earth are instinctively going to think of that first, and/or of their heritage as descendants of Thingol and Lúthien and Beren, whenever they see them. Elwing’s an adult, she and Eärendil saved the world, she has achievements and identity beyond only what was done to her and who her family was. The twins need to make their own identity from scratch in Valinor rather than being defined by things they barely remember, and that’s why I think they’d feel the need to strike out on their own and live among people with no prior knowledge of them.
(A side headcanon is that, since Elves can influence their childrens’ appearance, Beren and Lúthien decided to acknowledge all the sides of their heritage through their children. Elurín is silver-haired and looks Sindar; Eluréd looks more Mannish than most elves, more heavily built and more squarish around the face, with brown hair. [The first time Finrod met him he exclaimed at how much like Beren he looked. There wasn’t a second conversation; like I saud, the twins don’t like being defined by their heritage and past.] Elwing takes after Lúthien, dark-haired and pale, but inherited Beren’s height; Lúthien was about seven feet tall, Elwing is a little over five feet.)
Moving on to Elrond - I don’t think he’d have known anything about the fate of Eluréd and Elurín from Elwing; he was only six years old during the Third Kinslaying and that’s not the kind of thing you tell to a child that young! And Maglor and Maedhros certainly wouldn’t have shared it unprompted, because it would be horrifying and terrifying.
“I am telling you this not to accuse you, but because you need to understand. You think you are resolving something that happened in the past. And for him, it may be so; for you, it may be so. But it is not the past here; not for us and not for others. It is still going on.”
This my clumsy attempt at paraphrasing a quote that I got from Ta-Nehisi Coates, but that was also quoted by Barack Obama and is originally from William Faulkner (whom I have not read): The past isn’t dead. It isn’t even past. I even considered using it as an epigraph for this chapter.
I spent a long time revising this section and trying to get it to express what I wanted:
He had been able, in Middle-earth, to view Maglor and Maedhros through a kind of double vision: to see, without one cancelling the other, the deeds for which they were justly hated and the people he had known, riven by grief and guilt. It had been a great gift, in later life; it had taught him compassion, and that the lines between good and evil were not drawn between people but through them.
The question of Did I live because you died?, with regard to Eluréd and Elurín, was brought to my mind because of the parallels and contrasts there. Maedhros is the one who looks for Eluréd and Elurín; Maglor doesn’t even try. Which raises the question of whether Maglor’s fosterage of Elrond and Elros came out of guilt at that former cicumstance (or, in part, an attempt to reawaken his brother to the person who had at least tried).
But such exchanges surrounded him. The pain of one, for the happiness of another; the injury of one, or of many, for the healing of another. His father’s exile, for the Noldor’s return. His mother’s suffering, to save her enemy because Elrond loved him. The pain of so many others, so their persecutor could have one more chance after all those he had thrown away.
Does mercy mean only that the innocent should suffer in place of the guilty?
That last line is the one that lies at the heart of the story. I think that, for a redemption fic about one or more Fëanoreans to be meaningful, it has to deal with the consequences of their actions beyond ‘they did bad things and people are angry at them’; it needs to acknowledge and pain and suffering they caused that are not merely past, but still ongoing. This is a big reason for the inclusion of Nimloth’s story in the form that it takes; the ability of Elves to return from the dead does not mean everything is healed and all better. There is anger from some characters at Maglor’s return; but to me the pain and the fear are a more important, and Elwing (including in near future chapters, if I can finally get them written) is a central character in that. Mercy does involve the innocent suffering at the expense of the guilty; mercy is inherently unfair; but passing through that can bring unforeseen blessings and healing for both.
I was absolutely delighted by your review of this chapter; if you have any other questions please ask!
[1] Apart from Mithrellas, but that appears to have not been a good marriage, so I doubt she was greatly cut up about it when her mortal husband died.

Calio: When he was young he was beautiful, and he was utterly selfish. He used his looks and his silver tongue to get what he wanted, and used people and then tossed them aside when they were no longer amusing. He was *not* a good person, and he was on a path to being worse. Then the first time he left home to adventure, he died in a cave in the mountains where no one should have ever found his body. But he was found, by a necromancer who recognized the potential in Calio, and raised him as a Skeletal Champion. This necromancer, Keisuke, showed Calio how to use his latent necromantic powers. After he was sent on an impossible mission to assassinate Baba Yaga, he instead managed to make a deal with her to revive him in exchange for his service as her Grimm Rider. Once Calio had power, he used it for his own amusement and his own gain. Other people were just toys in the game, and those with power—Baba Yaga, Elvanna, himself—they were the only real players. Even Rasputin, powerful as he was, was subject to the Grimm Rider’s manipulation. If Calio had succeeded at freeing Baba Yaga from Elvanna back then and had gotten his wish from her as the Grimm Rider, he would have been on the path to being some other hero’s villain.
Instead, he died. Again.
At present, he’s changed a lot. Appearance-wise his eventful year and a half show. He looks a fair bit older than he is, his hair is greying, and his skin looks a little sickly. He still has a handsome face, and he’s more confident and charismatic than ever, so his force of personality can often make it possible to overlook his half-living appearance. He’s been through a lot since his Grimm Rider days. After dying (again) he came back because of a contingency plan he’d put in place but with a year worth of amnesia because the magic went wrong, became an adventurer with a bunch of lovable idiots, fell in love with a shapeshifting wolf, got aged 5 years by a time vortex, got mentally linked to a dragon, got revenge on his ex-lover who caused his second death, and was forced to kill Keisuke—who he considered a friend despite him being an even worse person than Calio initially was. Somewhere in all that Calio grew a bit of a conscience, and grew to deeply care for the found family he’d gotten himself roped into. The easiest way to describe his change in outlook is this: when he started his adventure, if he came across someone in need who helping would neither help nor hinder him, he wouldn’t help, because there would be no gain in him helping. Now if he came across this same person in that same circumstance, he would help, because there’s no gain in him ignoring the person. Same logic, it just flipped somewhere along the way.
If Calio survives dethroning Queen Elvanna, currently his plans are to use his wish from Baba Yaga to bring Keisuke back in a similar amnesiac state to how Calio had been, so that he might have the same chance Calio’s had to make something more of himself and to make real connections with people. Then his plan is to go wherever Greta would most like to see in the world, travel a little and see things without a world ending threat at their heels, and then settle down to make a family somewhere. Maybe in Irrisen maybe not. Definitely not in Ustalav, that’s Calio’s only caveat, he has no desire to go back to Ustalav permanently—although he might visit to introduce Greta to his parents eventually.
It’s not the life he expected. It’s not even a life he would have thought he’d want when he was younger—the idea of settling down, starting a family, not reaching for ‘something greater’, he’d have found it abhorrent when he was younger. But Calio is content with the people he’s surrounded himself with, and the life that’s unfolded for him because of them. He’s a little scared of letting go of his pursuit of power—of accepting the inevitability of death when his time comes if he doesn’t grasp for mythic power and immortality when the chance presents itself. But he feels like he’s found something more important—something worth living for, as opposed to blindly chasing immortality while the life he’s living passes him by.
writing/drawing prompt: What was your OC like when they were younger? Did they look significantly different? What about their future, will they get to be old and happy, or do they have a harsh life ahead? How do their looks/personality change?

Troubled (Abridged! Future! Trunks x Nonbinary! Reader!
(TOLD FROM (Y/N) and Trunks's POV)
'Hello. My name is (Y/N)'
"My name is Trunks.'
'and this...is our story.'
'For the first half, we were babies, so certain things may be a little....inaccurate.'
As people surrounded a body lying flat and lifeless on the ground, frantic footsteps could be heard over the sound of one loud wailing child (T:Hey-) and worrisome mumbling could be heard from every corner of the room.
Son Goku perished in his own house, as you could have guessed.
As a result of a heart condition. Out of all the things that could've done it he died that way. A damn heart attack
'Y/N-'
'Hush, I'm gonna keep going.'
"What happened, Mom?!"
"Your dad is gone! For good!"
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Trunks decided to repeat what he heard because he could hear distant screaming in the distance.
"Dad dead! Dad dead!"
'I was told those were my first words'
"Son of a Bitch!"
Vegeta screamed in disappointment, either because his son's first words reminded him that his father was dead or because Goku was dead. It was most likely the second one.
"Son of a bitch!"
'and those were my second..'
'Seeing what happens afterwards, your first words were a terrible choice.'
"But he just got back fro, his training, after being on namek, after getting back from his training, AFTER being DEAD!"
'Bye son'
A faint voice called out but soon faded away.
'And with the death of goku his freinds and family were left to mourn...For approximately six months'
'Wait why didn't they wish him back before the androids or at least wish piccolo immortal? '
'I..I don't know?'
'Either way, the warriors who were left all got their asses handed to them- I mean were mercilessly killed in a battle despite krillns sorry attempts at flirting. Including one of my dads. Homophobic Dicks.'
'After that things went bad, and it left the fate of the earth with little hope.
______________________________________________________________________________________________________
'Over the next thirteen years the android would spend time destroying small town fter small town eventually working their way up. Maybe thats why we reacted the way we did, but (Y/N) and I spent a lot more time together.'
'And welcome back folks too TJ and the wombat! Wombat! WOMBAT! 'me so horny!' Starting today off wih our hour with sports: The college Battleball Association has had to disband ENTiRELY'
'As most of the and associate colleges have been destroyed by the Cyborgs.'
'Ahahahhahahaha, WIPEOUT!'
'They dealt with things with....dark humor'
'Speaking of which! In Cyborg news..'
'As we currently speak, Paprikaburg is under siege by the mechanical threat!'
'But on the brighter side!- wombats getting married!'
'That's right! Unfortuantly, my beloved fiance resides in Paprikaburg..and is probably most certainly dying as we speak!'
'But -- silver lining- Im single again!'
'holy hay!'
Bulma, a middle aged woman with long blue hair kept in a messy braid, blue eyes and fair skin reached over and shut off the radio, no longer wanting to hear it. Sitting beside her was two children but only one belonged to her.
A young boy, he wore a white shirt with blue long sleeves and the Capsule Corporation title on the chest along with grey sweatpants and blue boots.
He haf blue eyes, and hair colored lavender that is soft and straight that parts from the top of his head to frame both sides of his face reaching his ears with two loose strands over his forehead but the wind blew it our of proportion.
Another child named (Y/N) sat beside him, they were Trunks's age and wore a black tank top underneath an orange sweater with a white belt wrapped around the lower part of their waist along with grey leggings and dark brown combat boots.
They had (E/C) eyes, and (colored) hair that was combed/braided/brushed into a bun. (IF YOU HAVE NO HAIR OR SHORT HAIR) They didn't have to worry about hair/ They brushed through their (Colored) hair into some style.
There was a nice breeze in the air and the ride from the store in general was a nice distraction from recent events.
That was until Trunks said something to ruin it.
"Mom? Do you believe in destiny"
"Im a scientest so no."
"Paprikabrug is only 30 miles from here! If we hurry we could save someone!"
"hm." (Y/N) disagreed
The car came to a sudden stop, making the once calming drive come to a stop due to Trunks's stupid yet wishful thinking.
"Or you could die like your father and get Y/N killed too."
"Why do you say that everytime I wanna go fight them?"
"Because YOU are 13, Im 37, YOU somehow manage to drag them into everything and Im all alone."
'My mother had been thirty seven for ten years'
"No means no end of discus-''
Just as she ended the conversation trunks flew off and you watched.
"Oh! No! Just, just fly away! That's fine!
He flew off and you stood up, hovering above air and conteplating how stupid this was, but the simple fact that Trunks didn't think things through like always was enough for you to want to drag him back by his hear, so you ended up following him.
"Don't worry Miss Brief, I'll drag him back if I have to."
"Not you too!"
You dashed forward and quickly caught up to him not hearing bulma call after you two.
"God...bless them."
(Y/N) quickly caught up to him, and he looked back with wide eyes as if he was shocked to see they followed him, and they glared in response much to his dismey.
"Hey! You actually came, I was a little worried about going by myself so I'm glad you-"
"I'm here to drag you back if shit hits the fan, which I know it will. Wanna know why?!"
"Because we're thirteen?"
"BECAUSE WE'RE THIRTEEN!"
'We weren't sure if we could do anything at all....but we had to atleast try to stop their chaos.'
"The innocent people-"
"Tell me trunks, what the hell are you gonna do against the androids when you can't even hold your own long enough against ME, and everytime you lose you get all teary and whine about getting stronger knowing damn well it's not gonna happen because you don't even know how to properly fight?! we don't even know how to do ki balst like gohan!"
"Wha- bu- YOU do?! Plus that thing was years ago!"
"Oh yeah A year ago is enough time for us to learn how to fight like sayains to defeat androids and for YOU to stop whining like a little bit-"
The two came to a sudden stop, and so did their "arguing" right below them was a city that was in absolute rubble. Buildings collasped, rubble everywhere.
'But we were too late'
"Damnit! We're too late!"
The two lowered their bodies and planted their feet onto the ground and right below one of them sat a single doll, and you both got a closer look at it. Trunks kneeled down and picked up the doll, staring at it and then tightening his grip around the toy which probably belong to some dead kid. (Y/N) looked around the area.
'But...as we walked the ruins of the demolished city..'
Suddenly as trunks was trying not to cry, the two of you looked around and there he stood. A slightly older man known as son gohan, a tall, stern, and muscular man who wore an orange Gi.
'A Sexy Hero appereard!'
'A sexy hero appereard!-- Damnit (Y/N)!-'
'Ahem. A Hero appereard! The hero of our time: Gohan!'
'And face-to-face with him all I could say was..'
"GohantheykeepdestroyingcitiesandIdon'tknowhowtostopthemandeverybody's de-he-head!"
'I believe it was profound'
("Gohan they keep destroying cities and I don't know how to stop them and everybody's de-he-head!")
All Trunks managed to choke out was some slurred words that were covered with tears and a whiney voice, in response to that (Y/N) closed their eyes and took a deep breath before letting out the most dissapointed sigh in history.
"I-..damnit Trunks."
The two children and gohan flew back to capsle corp, and walked through the door once they landed.
Trunks, who was still in tears and stiffling back cries lead them upstairs with the help of (Y/N) where there was a table and some chairs, so everyone could sit down but gohan stood there looking out the window and (y/n) stared at him for a while, and took in the silence and enjoyed the peaceful moment.
Before Trunks ruined it....again.
(Y/N) Liked the boy a lot, but they wished he would shut the HFIL up sometimes, and this time was one of them. Regardless they still handed him a peice of tissue to wipe his tears away with.
"You remember a time before this gohan..what was it like?"
There was another short moment of silence until gohan took a deep breath and recollected his thoughts before answering.
"Welp, when I was a toddler, my Uncle kidnapped me, and then Mr. Piccolo killed him and my Dad. Then *Mr. Piccolo* Kidnapped me, the sayins showed up, killed a bunch of people -- Including Mr. Piccolo...Then we went to Namek, a bunch more people died, we came back, then my Dad died *again* then all my friends died, and now everyone else is dying."
'But somehow he survied all along, and his life sounds really shitty so far..'
"But...It was better right?"
(Y/N) slowly turned Their head over to face him, questioning if what they heard was actually real and they weren't imagining things.
"Trunks what the fu-''
"....No"
Gohan inturrupted and trunks stood up from the table, and (Y/N) sat still at the table and watched them conversate hoping this time Trunks wouldn't drag them into his shit.
"Well (Y/N) and I can help you! We're half sayins! Just like you!"
Nevermind. (Y/N) stood up and walked beside trunks with their arms crossed over their chest.
"I've got two Mr. Piccolo"
Gohan whispered under his breath causing both (Y/N) and Trunks to look at hime as if he was insane, which he probably was, after all he's been through he might have a few screws loose.
"What?"
The two kids said in unison and gohan began to walk over to them and place a hand ontop their heads.
"I said from now on, you two shall be my pupils..and you will call me Mr.Gohan!"
"Oh! OK.--"
(Y/N) stepped on Trunks's foot to catch him off guard, and that it did, because tears started rolling again but since he was already crying it seemed like he was just getting emotinal again. They stepped over and smiled at gohan before asking him a question.
"Would you like to stay for dinner, Mr. Gohan?"
"Mr. Gohan would!"
Soon the door opened and the three of you heard keys jingling and the rustling of what sounded like grocery bags, and then the sound of bulmas shoes trailed through the house.
"Trunks, (Y/N)? Are you guys home? You know Their dad is gonna kill me if they're dead. Should I change my dating profile from 'Single Mother' to just 'Single'? Because one gets more hits--"
Bulma headed up the stairs, so Trunks quickly dried his tears and (Y/N) sat infront of him as they both acted like they were reading the entire time instead of talking about training to fight man-slaughtering andriods.
"Oh. Gohan, long time no see!"
"Bulma."
"so Gohan, You staying the night? we got plenty of room here but, you know..no extra beds, so..."
The three of you looked over to see where she was headed.
"We'll have to share..."
"I'm good''
"well, worth a shot. Who's hungry?"
As bulma walked into the kitchen gohan followed her like a lost puppy simply because she had food.
"I am"
As (Y/N) started to follow Gohan Trunks stopped them dead in their tracks by grabbing their left wrist, and they turned around to face him.
"What was that for?!" Trunks whispered/yelled at (Y/N) while they stood their confused until it hit them, he was tallking about stomping down on his foot earlier when he was about to talk to Gohan.
"Oh you mean kicking you? Because *I* wanted to ask Mr. Gohan to dinner."
"Wha- WHY!? It's not like it's a date or anything!"
"It is if I pretend you aren't there"
"But- Why him?- What about me?!"
"Hey trunks, I like you. you're cute and all, but gohan is just...Wow.."
"What does wow mean- I can be Wow too!"
"...*Can* you?..... Really?"
"Yes! I can!"
"*Look* I'll give you chance if Gohan ever *Dies*."
Trunks stared at them for a minute before he let go of his wrist and watched as they left, and bawled his hands into fist as he looked down at his feet and mummbled to himself.
"But- He's so much older- and *I'm* around them more! That's stupid! Their crush is stupid! I'm gonna show them I can be wow too. whatever that means!"
"TRUNKS COME ON!"
"Coming!"
'We were determinerd for....different reasons'
'...yeah...kinda should've worded some things better tho'
"You wouldn't believe how hard it is to get produce nowadays, but luckily we have our own greenhouse."
Bulma sat the final plate infront of gohan as she finished her sentence, and gohan immediatly picked up the bowl. (Y/N) sat across fromhim and stared with dreamy eyes. Trunks sat at the end looking down at his food and sometimes taking glances at (Y/N).
"can't talk eating
The two half-sayins and (Y/N) sat around a oval-shaped wooden table with food surrounding them, Gohan dug in and ate fast. He was a little messy and fast, getting rice on the table ajndbut it wasn't that disturbing. what was disturbing was how he still looked so attractive.
"Oh you are just like your father!"
suddenly Gohans vaccum like eating came to an end and glanced at bulma almost as if she just said something that triggered something.
"In what reguard?
"Well your strong and brave and look at you n that gi."
"It was the *Only* thing he left me.''
"aww that's sweet"
'Over the next few weeks, Gohan would begin training us, focusing on making us super saiyan like him."
"His meathods were..."
Gohan dashed forward while (Y/N) came from the right and trunks charged directly, Trunks delivered the first blow and gohan vanished into thin air by the time they came to back him up he was already behind trunks.
"Watch out!"
"Huh?!"
"DODGE"
With little to no effor he sent the kids both flying into the water after delivering a hard kick to Trunks's chin and caused him to fall back taking (Y/N) with him. They both fell into the water and struggled in the waves.
"HELP US MR.GOHAN!"
"HELP MR.GOHAN!"
(Y/N) gripped onto Trunks's shirt and tried to steady the two of them so neither would sink.
"FLY UP!"
"The whirlpool'd too strong we can't swim!"
"*I said* FLY. UP."
"Maybe...I can build a raft!"
Gohan let out a fustrated groan from the lack of understanding with what he said. What was so hard about flying up? was he this hard to train when was younger?
"Wait...didn't he say something about flying?"
Either way no matter what they said trunks was too busy thrashing around and crying for gohan to help to really pay (Y/N) any attention so they linkedd their arms underneath trunks's arms and began to fly up to the nearest surface and sat him down as you landed.
Trunks was coughing violently while you patted his back, and a crab came out his mouth? How is he still alive?either way (Y/N) didn't notice gohan Approaching with towels because they were trying to help steady Trunks's breathing. That was until..y'know he tapped their shoulder and trunks stopped coughing. He handed them a towel and then he handed one over to Trunks
"Here. Clean yourself up"
"Oh- Mr.Gohan..Thank you-"
Trunks glanced over at (Y/N) as they stuttered out some words and then Gohan who nodded in their direction before they took a seat beside Trunks who was still looking at Gohan and so was (Y/N).
"Y'know, if you two think im rough you two should've trained with Mr.Piccolo"
"You really looked up to him didn't you?"
(Y/N) and Trunks said in unison and gohan sat between the two since there was a gap.
"Yeah he was like the father I never had.'
"Y'know speaking of dads, mom never talks about mine...You knew him right? What was he like?"
Gohan looked in the distance as if he was remembering something and it left the three in a few seconds of silence, and Trunks watched (Y/N) looking down at their own shoes as if they were lsot in thought, so he snuck his hand over theirs.
"Not now."
"Yep. Got it."
Suddenly Gohan spoke up and all attention was on him too see what his answer was.
".....He had a lot to prove" Which meant in so many words that vegeata was a d!ck. They'd find that out in the future.
"Gohan never talked much about his family. Apperently his mother and Grandfather lived alone in the woods"
"Hey (Y/N)?"
"yeah?"
"What do you do when you're *not* here? I mean theres gotta be a reason why you're stronger than me right?"
There was some silence as (Y/N) had flashback's and the laughter of an evil being named Popo came to their mind as they stared at the ground for a minute leaving Trunks waiting for an answer which he probably wasn't gonna ever get.
"(Y/N)?"
"First rule of Popo's training never talk about Popo's training.."
"Huh"
"Bye."
"Wait- what about-"
Just before he could say anything you flew away and he followed.
"Gohan would continue pushing us harder and harder, day and night, to become a Super Saiyan"
Trunks and (Y/N) pushed and pushed , trying to find the power to become a Super Saiyan but it wasn't really working.
They got close, powering up and their ki's locked and formed a sort of flame around the two while their hair raised (Or not) but then they lost it and the flame went out. Their hair fell back down and so did they, the twokids crashed down to their knees and took deep breaths wondering if they'd ever transform into Super Saiyan.
"The next day the Cyborgs would attack super world"
Three people flew in the sky scanning for the androids wondering if they were really out this time, well one was? Until they all spotted them and hovered over to just witness the mess they made instead of doing something about it in advance.
"Y'know when you can fly these rides don't seem all that fun"
"Well, if you're already bored, why not try taking a ride on my fist?"
"*Wow*... You, uh, want a minute to rephrase that there, cheif?"
"Nope! I'd rather take that minute to kick your ass!"
"Okay now see, that's better"
"Now, (Y/N) and Trunks, I want you two to just sit back and spectate! Unless they team up on me, in which case - jump in."
"I can't help but feel like we're woefully unprepared for this."
"Yeah maybe we should've taken more time"
"That's *exactly what we prepared for!"
The three of them got into a fighting stance despite how unsure they all were, it was highly possible that one was gonna loose and bets were on the guy who brought two kids to the fight, but regardless they all started to take on seperate targets without really paying attention to morals. Nor the fact that this could end up with everyone dead and humanity was *really* fucked.
'This would be our first real battle, and We've never seen anyone fight so fiercely!'
'Or got our asses kicked so badly.'
'Later- Gohan had always told his stories about fights in the past...but those had a lot more screaming and posturing, eh'
"Heh...Ma-"
"Whatever you're gonna say, don't. "
Gohan and 17 did fight fiercely it was nearly an even number of blows being shared amongst the two instead of one being comepletely destroyed. Yet. Eventually gphan gained the upperhand android 18 bitch slapped him into a building so now his chances were very slim when it came to winning.
"Damn, he's pissed today!" "You think its his time of the month?'
"Ha! Ah it's funny cause you're a chick!"
"Gohan!"
"Gohan!"
Soon enough the two Cyborgs teamed up on him, each taking a hit after the other sen him their way. It was bad.
"Stop it!"
So the two kids stepped in and were soon blasted away by 18, luckily they caught themselves and went to higher ground to fight 18. Unfortuantly this now means that the two kids were left to fight the *other* android which (despite there being two vs one) seemed to be a little more...unfair when it comes to strength.
"I can't believe you brought kids to a battle! Super irresponsible."
"She wasn't wrong"
"We're not afraid of you! We can take care of you ourselves!"
"I, However, was."
In a few seconds, the cyborg punched (Y/N) away and punched trunks in the nose, holding him up by his sweater while (Y/N) hit a pole. Trunks was lifted by his shirt to see 18 and she smirked down at him.
"Now what do you think?"
"You hit like a girl!"
"Well...you're not wrong."
"Trunks!"
18 lifted her left hand and formed a ki blast luckily (Y/N) regained enough consiousness and dashed forward to kick the cyborg away and grab Trunks, after securring their arms underneath his they tried to fly away and get some distance in time, but she still managed to graze their back with a ki blast.
It would've been deadly up close but lucky for them, they managed to gain some distance and it only burnt up their back. Despite the amount of distance they had and the little damage they took they still lost consiousness and fell to the ground as they faded in and out all while still keeping a hold on trunks.
"TRUNKS, (Y/N)!"
Gohan caught the two of them and ran to find cover while the cyborgs continued to blow things up.
"Oh shit, oh shit, oh shit, oh shit!"
"No you don't!"
The two androids threw ki blast at the
"Hey mom?"
"what is it Trun..OH, MY GOD!"
"What do you know about reattaching arms? That we couldn't find?"
"Oh, sweetie."
Luckily bulma was able to fix Gohan, well everything but y'know..his arm because it was gone.
They set Gohan's things to the side and then returned to his side with trunks and pateintly watched to make sure he was actually breathing.
He was.
"So...have you learned anything today?"
"The only good Cyborg is a dead Cyborg?" "..You really are your fathers son.."
You questioned what his father was like after that but regardless it didn't matter right now.
Luckily bulma was able to fix Gohan, well everything but y'know..his arm because it was gone.
They set Gohan's things to the side and then returned to his side with trunks and pateintly watched to make sure he was actually breathing.
He was.
"So...have you learned anything today?"
After putting his things to the side and stabilizing his body, Bulma waited to see if trunks would answer her question
He turned to her and did just that.
"The only good Cyborg is a dead Cyborg?"
"..You really are your fathers son.."
You questioned what his father was like after that but regardless it didn't matter right now. _______ 'Now stronger and more motivated than ever, we were back to training as soon as Gohan was able again'
The two children struggled as they stressed their bodies to achieve such a difficult form.
'Though we think he was still a little...sore..'
Their energy formed around them, and merged simultaneously as they continued to struggle with the transformation.
"Come on, you two! Just imagine losing someone or something close to you! Like your arm! Cause trust me, that really friggin sucks!"
Once again they were nearly there, but as soon as they changed the movement of the wind they quickly fell to their knees.
Trunks threw up last night's dinner, and you fell to your knees holding in your own possible puke, and eventually got a headache from it.
"Alright, take five."
'Unfortunately, we didn't transform in time...' ________ Now sitting in the middle of nowhere ontop of some random rock You three found around the deserted area.
It was just all three of you laying or sitting there either talking or watching the clouds in the sky and reminiscing.
"So, Gohan- d you usually hang out in wastelands?"
"What do you mean? This is where I live."
You looked around the place and wondered what he was surviving off of while he were there. It could've been the lizards.
"Oh- uh it's nice!"
Maybe he went back to his mom's house every now and them to get food? The androids managed to be what killed the dinosaurs so he wasn't getting any meat from them.
"I think you guys are really close, you know. You just need something to push you over the edge..."
"Well you always told us to use the pain of loss, but I've never lost anyone."
Looking over to you as you sat him, trunks mightve wondered just why you hadn't turned to super sayain considering you lost a father.
"What about you?"
Unbeknownst to him, you hardly knew him enough to be that upset that he was dead.
Afterall he died when you were four, and you saw him arguing with your father most of the time over sending you out there or not.
"I only know my father from what my dad told me about him. I haven't seen him in years."
You spoke so highly of him, but it was because he wasn't gonna send you out there in the first place until things got rough.
He's the reason why you ended up nearly living with popo had it not been for them sending you to go visit bulma.
Looking away from you as if he was ashamed that he even thought to ask that question and you just shrugged it off.
"Well, for me it was my greatest source of anger. I just think about losing killing or Mr.Piccolo--"
"Or your dad?"
"Uh, yeah, sure. And then it just builds up inside me until finally...it explodes."
Suddenly, a giant explosion from a nearby city was set off, catching all of you of guard and snatching your attention.
"Uh yeah, like that only figuratively"
The three of you immediately jumped up and got ready to go down there and try to stop the cyborgs again.
"The cyborgs! Mister Gohan we have to go!"
Trunks insisted while gohan turned super sayain. It was like he was about to leave the two of you behind in that very moment.
"No, we all know neither of you are ready."
This time you stepped up and defended Trunks's actions instead of going with what Gohan said for once.
"If we don't go you'll be left to fight them all alone! We saw what they did to you at the carnival but now you'll only be fighting with one arm! You have to let us help you!"
You insisted as he looked down at you and then back at Trunks who had one last thing to say before Gohan would retaliate.
"Yeah! You only have one arm! What can you do with one arm?!"
Suddenly, he relaxed ever so slightly, and turned to face Trunks it was like he was about to change his mind and let you guys go.
"You know what, yiu guys are right. What can I do with only one arm?"
"Thank you Mister Gohan! We will not let you down!"
Everything went a little too well, and soon you'd both find out why.
A swift hit to the back of the neck for Trunks first, and he fell to the ground, out cold and leaving you in a slight shock.
That didn't last long, because the next person he went after was you, and yet another swift chop to the back of your neck left you out cold.
"That..I can do that with one arm." _______ (I didn't wanna write out the fight, so just enjoy the video until the sad part comes around!) ______ Suddenly, when the two of you woke up and finally stood despite the struggle that came with being knocked unconscious.
You both saw the smoke coming from the city, and your hearts dropped to your stomachs you shared a single glance with eachother before dashing off to make sure your nightmares hadn't come true.
As the rain poured from the sky and wet the area surrounding it, you squinted through it and kept searching for anything that would give you a sign that he was alive.
"(Y/N)! Come quick!"
Flying over as soon as you heard Trunks's voice you hoped in your heart that what you were thinking was just put of control paranoia, but when you stopped by his side and saw what he saw you realized it was all true.
You two sat there in the air, completely shocked before you made the first move to grab his hand and squeeze, and he squeezed back bringing you back into this horrible reality.
It was Trunks who moved first this time, and you who followed in making your way to the body of your friend and mentor.
You both sat by his side and you reached for his hand only to feel it was completely cold to the touch, not an ounce of warmth left.
The world went silent for the both of you, as Trunks screamed to the top of his lungs, and you felt your entire body burn with both rage and grief.
You hunched over his body as you sobbed, and those sobs turned into screaming. Screamjng until your throat hurt and continuing on long after that.
Your hearts felt like they were burning, and your muscles were so tensed you poured blood from your fist when you left go of gohan and bawled them.
Neither of you knew how long you sat there and just cried, but after such a loss you both found a new hatred for the androids.
New strength was found as well. _________ One year later (Pause here for the sake of not losing track of the video)
"So..(Y/N) remember when you said about..uh..giving me a cha-"
"Trunks!"
"What-"
"Too soon!"
"I'm sorry."
(Unpause) ______ THREE YEARS LATER _____
"All right mom, we've got the rest of the supplies for the time machine. Too bad grandpa's not here to help you."
Setting the boxes down where they needed to be placed, you watched as they talked about Trunks's grandfather.
"Yeah. Unfortunately he's still off searing the cosmos for new namek."
Regardless of how odd that sounded. You wondered how long he's been alive and how he even managed to live so long.
"So until your grandfather returns-- just me."
Just when she finished speaking, there was an emergency broadcast from the radio in her work station.
"Hello, this is an emergency broadcast from Cuminopolis!"
You both walked over to hear just what they were talking about a little clearer then you could from the other side of the room.
"They Cyborgs are attacking! And rhey are sparing no one! No one is safe-"
It then went out, and silence followed. Those people were all dead by now from what you could deduct from that last sentence.
Still, you glanced and saw trunks looking at you as if waiting for confirmation to say something about this situation.
You looked back at the radio, and despite this being a bad decision you would make sure to let him know that it would be his last that you agreed on.
"Thats close to here."
"Trunks I know what you're thinking but let me finish the time machin-"
"We don't have *time* for that!"
"That's what the machine is for!"
"Listen! We're stronger now! We're super sayains!"
You heard screaming in the distance, and it definitely didn't sound like anyone you've ever heard before.
"So was gohan! And look how that went!"
"Oh, so now you're just replacing dad with *Gohan*?"
"Trust me I *tried*!"
That last sentence had you both stuck for a bit, but it wasn't like you didn't take notice the very first time you all saw it.
When she invited him over for one, but it still didn't make the situation any less awkward to acknowledge.
"We're going now."
"Be safe.''
So you just reached for his arm and started to drag him out the place as bumla went back to the Time Machine. ___
'And so, armed with the sword given to me by tapion....which is a whole...other story...'
'Which doesn't make sense since we could've just let him run loose on the androids and helped him after.'
'We raced off to fight the androids.. one last time..' ______
"So we done here?"
"Yep! No more people left to kill here."
Just as they walked away from the city they left in ruins, the two of you showed up to take them on and hopefully put an end to this.
"Why don't you try us?"
But that was wishful thinking.
As one of them turned to face the two of you looking a little suprised by Trunks's statement, her brother pointed out the flaw in it.
"Wait did you just ask us to kill you and your little buddy there?"
"N-no, a-as in 'fight me'"
"Do we even know the two of you?"
"Yes! You murdered our mentor!"
You decided to get right to fighting the one with dark hair while Trunks played catch-up with the blond one in the jacket.
"Oh wait, hold on... I don't care."
It was a somewhat even fight, but even you could tell that he was still a lot stronger than you were and gohan probably gave him more of a fight.
Still you flew circles around him and cut him off up until he started catching on to your movements and you were neck and neck with him.
"So uh hey, your little boyfriend over there is cheatin on you with pavement."
"Hope you can be close with it too!"
You answered his Sparky remark with a swift kick to his neck and knocked him through a rock and flat into the pavement.
Unfortunately, you got distracted when you looked to your side and saw trunks blast a ki blast in the blond ones direction.
"Hey doesn't he kinda remind you of, you know who?"
"Yeah, I see the resemblance, but unlike good ol' righty, he's still got both arms."
You turned to see the one with black hair had disappeared from where yiu threw him and got on defense again.
"Do not let your guard down!"
It was like they ignored you completely, and fought the one who was on a disadvantage by being on the ground and distracted.
"Yeah...but not for long."
Just as she said that, You saw the man with black hair coming right for you after you turned around to save your behind.
Unfortunately Trunks wasn't as lucky, and got knocked right through the building she popped out of and caught your attention.
"Damnit Trunks!"
You yelled as you tried to keep up with the new found pace despite losing your train of focus due to the multiple distractions.
One good kick and he was down again, but just as you tried to blast him away the blonde on came up from behind and used that same move all over again.
Except this way she blasted you straight downwards, and the black haired one was waiting for you just to punch you in the stomach.
You felt sick as you coughed blood and fell to your knees, only to be kicked far from him and right through a building.
"Hey sis! Make sure you blast that building while your at it!"
She did just that, and left the whole building in complete rubble, but she only hit the room right below you to send it all crashing.
They must've thought you died after that, because they didn't come back to finish you off or even check it.
"Hey sunshine, cough if you're still alive."
He had his foot underneath Trunks's chin and just like he asked Trunks let out some painful coughs after his attempt to gasp for air.
"Good boy."
You were out of it. Your back burnt like fire hit it and you felt like you would puke your intestines out on the ground.
"Why? Why are you doing this?"
"The question isn't "why?" , kid. It's "why not?"
"I mean who's gonna stop us?"
"Not those guys seventeen years ago."
"Not ol One-Arm"
"And certainly not you"
They purposefully teased him until he got up and started to punch at them weakly. Hardly having any strength to pronounce words let alone stand and punch things.
"You..you!"
He missed every swing, and even when he manged to hit them it was just those weak little punches that you'd get from an infant.
"You evil bunch of jerks, I'll kick your god damn..."
They laughed and mocked him as he punch them square in the face and spilled those pitiful words out to them
"This is hilarious!"
"You killed my master! My friend!"
"Now it's sad"
"WHY! WHY! WHY!"
"And now it's annoying again."
Suddenly, she moved out of the way and kicked him in the stomach, sending him flying in the air and meeting him half way only to knock him back down.
Just as he crashed, his hair turned Lilac again and he nearly lost complete consiousness due to all the pain his body was put through.
"Wait a sec, this kid look familiar to you sis?"
"Yeah! He was at the amusement park with stumpy!"
Stomping on the top of his head and twisted his shoe on a new possible wound, they mocked the both of you.
"Oh look at you, a little survivor. Too bad your little pals can't say the same, but how about we fix that."
Suddenly, the blonde one got in the way of the blast and called dibs on killing him last minute. She took the hit.
"Sis get outta the wa-!"
The near nuclear explosion should've killed yiu both, but from what you knew they couldn't sense the two of you.
"Did you just friggin' *blast* me?!"
"You stepped in front of it what is wrong with you?!"
"NO-NO- TH-THAT'S IT! We're leaving!"
"Oh come on sis! Get back here!"
They also probably can't see in smoke so as long as you snuck to grab Trunks you both could leave to bulmas before anything else happened.
' I still have no idea how we survived'
'I got blasted three times that fight. I don't know how I managed to drag you to bulma.' _______ "Trunks sweetie? You waking up?"
He was in a hospital room covered in bandages and hooked up to a heart monitor that you assumed his mother made.
You entered the room just as he was opening his eyes and peaked from behind his mom to see if he was really waking up soon.
"Mom? Am I alive? How long was I out?"
Leaning over the railings of the bed, bulma smiled, definitely relieved that both of you ended up alive in this.
"Well, I finished the Time Machine."
"Oh...is that long?"
"Yeah.. so now you've got two options."
"One option really."
"They have a point! So you can take a swing at the androids again."
Grunting in pain from the mere memory of that last interaction with the androids, you knew that answer meant hell no.
"Or you can use the time machine and go save goku! (Y/N) already gave me an answer, we were just waiting for you."
Looking up at the ceiling lights, and after a few seconds of weighing his chances again.Trunks reluctantly answered.
"I wanna save goku."
He mumbled so low that even you couldn't hear it so you tilted your head at his response.
"*Trunks*"
"I wanna save goku!" _______ 'After recovering for a few months, we were finally ready.'
It was spring by now and things felt a little better. After all those months things finally started looking up as you guys prepared to get into the machine.
"Awe my jacket looks so good on you! All the girls in the past are gonna love it!"
Trunks's face flushed a bit after she said that, and you smiled and pat his shoulder, catching him off guard.
You wore your fathers old sword around your waist inside of over your shoulders because the strap couldn't be completely saved.
You also wore his logo on the back of your shirt, and wore his belt around your waist. A way of paying your respects.
"Oh look at you! You look amazing in your fathers stuff! I'm sure he'd he proud if he could see you now!"
"Thanks bulma.."
Looking over at Trunks you saw his face flush and he looked at the time machine as if he was searching for a distraction.
"I can't wait to meet histories greatest hero!"
"Oh yeah...Goku might not be exactly how you think, so do temper your expectations."
You didn't exactly question what she meant by that but you were happy that you got to meet your own father and get to now more about him now.
You'd even get a chance to finally find out just which you came from and how you even had sayain blood in you.
"And dad! I finally get to meet dad!"
"Oh shit you do."
"Huh?"
"I mean, just be yourself sweetie, everything will work out!"
"Good luck with meeting your father too (Y/N) he's gonna love you"
You both nodded and smiled before hoping onto the ship and waving goodbye, hoping that the future would be changeable.
"By now, next time you see us.. this'll be a cyborg-free world!"
"Unless this actually operates on multiverse theory in which case-"
Even if it wasn't, at least when you guys come back you could fix it yourself and just kill the androids by then.
You both waved good bye one more time before you closed the window and punched in the time the two of you would be traveling back to.
"Can't hear ya mom time traveling!"
"By sweetie!" _______ "And multiverse theory it is. Shit." ______

[ immortal baelon ii - reborn argella au ]
𝐁𝐀𝐄𝐋𝐎𝐍 𝐈𝐈 𝐓𝐀𝐑𝐆𝐀𝐑𝐘𝐄𝐍 made sure Carnifex was nearby to keep watch on Argella near the fire where they just made before sundown. The long necked dragon would just gently drag her back with his teeth if she crawled too close to the fire.
Not exactly sure where Taessa, or let alone Aenar, went. So it’d be nice to have a little moment with Gaelithox, she seemed to be tensed, but perhaps a little petting would do her a little good.
“Hey, big girl.” He softly spoke in High Valyrian and gently petted into her scales as Gaelithox croons and leaned closer onto his touch. Just simply laying onto the field away from the campsite. “So, she found you near the ruins of Old Valyria, huh? How and why was she there in the first place? No one else has tried since Aerea Targaryen…” He mumbles as the she-dragon made a groaning sound.
“Why were you there in the first place?” He asked her and a thought popped into his mind. “Is that where you took her?” Perhaps he can hop onto Carnifex with Argella right now and—
“She seems very fond of you.” Taessa spoken from behind, quite startling him a little, as she walked up to them and laid a hand onto Gaelithox’s snout. “She usually isn’t this friendly with others. Especially Aenar.” She gave him a curious look.
She doesn’t like Aenar as well, same thing we have in common.. He mused.
“Me and my little girl were close, she was my pride and joy. It must’ve took effect on our dragons and developed fondness to the other’s rider.” He forcibly smiled at her. She doesn’t deserve his daughter’s dragon. No one does.
“Look, I know you don’t exactly trust me, or Aenar,” Taessa quickly reverted back to commoner’s tongue and gave him a pointed look. “and we really want to help you and that little princess. Well, mostly me, but what can I do gain that trust?” Those dark purple eyes stared into his lighter ones.
Baelon sighed and looked away. “Perhaps starting answering my questions less vaguely and explain more why you decided to help out.”
She contemplated for a moment and pulled her hand back from those purple scales. “What do you want to know? Aenar should be busy long enough for you to ask some questions.” This satisfied him enough.
“Why do you have dark hair? I’m not judging, but I thought the people of Old Valyria only inherited silver hair?” That was his first question.
“Dye.” Her quick reply. “I thought it would help me blend in during my travels and it did. At least most of the time.” Smart, that was actually a smart thing to do as a immortal with Valyrian features.
“Aenar wasn’t mentioned in our Targaryen linage. Gaemon and Daenys only had three children. One son named Aegon and two daughters, no historian had ever mentioned them having a son named Aenar.” That’s what set him off the most about her companion.
“He… wasn’t glorious as his father was. Grew up as a second son with a unpleasant reputation that’d for sure taint their name and his parents thought that… disowning him after he died in a fight would do their family name good. Then they easily decided to remove him from the family line as well.” Oh, how good did it turned out for the future generations indeed.
“How’d you two… became like this?” Cursed for eternity and watching everyone you know and love wither like a dead flower…
“I can’t speak for Aenar on how or why he became immortal. But what I can tell you on how I did that naivety is what got me killed.” She spat out the word as if it was mold. “I was granted a second chance to redeem myself by our gods, but it required a sacrifice of which involved innocence, and giving them what killed me seem good enough for them to take.” He only noticed on she only seem to loathe herself for it too.
“Family?” The topic that everyone hates.
Taessa remained silent but hesitantly answered, “They were incredibly good people who loved their family more than anything, too good than anybody else had thought of them. Loosing family has hurt me the most… and it got me killed for wanting it to stop. I died for something for what I thought what would end for good. But… I guess somethings were bound to be pointless. Even death itself.” She must be thinking about when the doom happened. It must’ve been horrible to die thinking you saved your family and only to find out it wasn’t enough.
“I’m sorry.” Baelon sympathized, but it didn’t make his distrust go away. “I know what it’s like loosing family.” His Argella’s pale and smoke covered face with blood oozing out of her mouth while he clings onto her small body on the battlefield.
“No, I’m sorry.” Her eyes flickered back to his. “We came to you as strangers and you didn’t want to lose something so beautifully precious again. A purpose. Something that gives you unlimited wholeness from the inside.” A small smile twitched on her lips.
“How and why were you at the ruins Old Valyria if you found Gaelithox there? Why was she there in the first place?” That’s what he desperately needed to know.
The smile slipped from her face and got resolved with uncomfortableness. “I… I guess I went to see how it looked like. Aenar knows the way back like the hand of his hand and that’s where I first met him. He taught me everything I know right now. As for Gaelithox… she was already there.” She paused and gave him a sorrowful glance.
“I swear she didn’t had your little girl’s body with her in that moment… and I’m really sorry for how you lost her.” The entirety of the realm had cried for their jewel on that night. So did he and his family.
Baelon couldn’t really blame anyone but his father. His father who’d killed his own granddaughter, who was no older than one-and-ten, in cold blood, and slowly paid the price at his son’s hands.
“I’m just happy to see that this big girl is still alive and kicking.” The said big girl made a offended sound. “Sorry about that, but it’s true.” He said playfully to her in High Valyrian.
Gaelithox huffs.
“I thought you’d might want these as well.” Taessa walked to her luggage on the horse and pulled a bag. “Found these on the saddle before it broke off because of her size. Sorry about that.” She gave Gaelithox, who offendedly huffs once again, a quick apologetic look before giving Baelon the bag.
“What?” He froze and realized these are his daughter’s belongings. Three unhatched dragon eggs that were gifted from his father on her birth celebration, history books about Old Valyria, and her… stuffy of Carnifex the red death. “Did you-“
“Thought you’d want them to remember your little girl. I kept them in good condition for just in case I stumbled upon any family-“ Taessa just waved him off and awkwardly looked away. Not often used to sentimentality anymore he’d bet.
“Thank you.” It’s all he can say and would keep these precious items close by with Argella now.
Baelon still can’t trust them although.
“So… ever thought about gaining allies or an army other than using dragons? You can’t just flaunt that little princess to King Robert and expect him to know that she’s his true born heir without any evidence without his queen having her killed on sight.” She raised an eyebrow. “He also does has a reputation for siring many bastards since the rebellion ended.” Both wincing at the mention.
… Does he actually want to help put Argella on the iron throne and loose her? What if something bad happens to her like what happened to Viserys and-
“I’m gonna go keep a lookout for Aenar. Why don’t you go rest? We’ll actually plan on what to do tomorrow.” Taessa sighs before walking away from his sight. Leaving Baelon alone with Gaelithox in his thoughts.
Carnifex is now resting with Argella snuggled in a blanket against his side by the fire.
[ aenar is being so sus, meanwhile I’m considering on making baelon ii the father of dragons- ]
- 💜 Anon.
omg baelon ii the father of dragons..... sounds so cool also i do not trust them at all..... too suspicious...

LWJ in his grief summons WWX in our modern world, and the rest is up to you :) Maybe get WWX some therapy and loving family and how different modern days people are
This one is a bit angsty and has vague descriptions of sex. Modern AU.
“The Tragedy of Wei Wuxian - The Man Behind the Legend”
Lan Wangji caresses the title of the book with a thumb, eyes tracing a name he has always held close to heart but hasn’t heard for a long time.
“We all know of Wei Ying, courtesy Wuxian as Yiling Laozu. He’s one of the first to cultivate successfully with ‘resentful’ energy. His theories and papers helped us develop a greater understanding of yin energy, Qi deviation, and resentful spirits. He was a visionary, a man ahead of his time, someone who thought outside the box and looked for solutions instead of sticking to the norm. He’s also the first known person to donate his Golden Core.”
Wangji looks away for a moment, remembering Wen Ning’s snarling face and Jiang Wanyin’s rage, denial, and guilt.
“But we don’t talk about what brought that great visionary down. Society, as it did with many great thinkers, turned against him. In his youth, Wei Wuxian was one of the most accomplished cultivators of his generation. No one knows exactly what happened for him to develop the so-called ‘Ghostly Path’. His loss of the Golden Core may have been a factor, but the actual circumstances are shrouded in mystery.
What follows after the War of the Five Great Clans, known as the Sunshot Campaign, is nothing short of a tragedy. Wei Wuxian saw injustice happening and decided to fight against it. Society tore him up for it. At that time, all actions against him were justified and considered righteous. Those actions don’t stand up to scrutiny under the modern lens. Like all great and radical thinkers, Wei Wuxian ideals made him the enemy and that led to this tragic death, along with the murder of innocent war prisoners he sought to protect. There are unconfirmed reports of there being a child among the Wens.”
Wangji’s eyes flicker over to a picture frame sitting on his desk, an image of Sizhui and Jingyi smiling up at him through the glossy image. They’re well, he knows. Last he heard from them, they were in South Korea and having a great time.
Sizhui must not know of this book or he would’ve called immediately, always so concerned about his a’die.
“It was later revealed that hunger for power and political maneuvering led to his death. When we study the historical records, it is obvious that the man was pushed into the corner and was forced to retaliate. Unfortunately, no one cared about his fate-”
“I did,” Wangji whispered to himself, thinking back on silver eyes in an indistinct face. He loved - still loves Wei Ying - but the physical aspects of him have long since faded from his memory. He sometimes remembers Wei Ying’s laugh. Sometimes, he dreams of his smile. He doesn’t recall what Wei Ying sounded like, only remembering his tone when he said ‘Lan Zhan.’
And yet, Lan Wangji hasn’t forgotten love.
He reads the book in silence, going through all 375 pages of it without pausing to eat or sleep. It tells the story of Wei Ying in stark, blunt terms. There are a few facts missing or erroneous. He wasn’t the adopted child of the Jiangs. There was certainly no unrequited love between Wei Wuxian and Jiang Yanli.
There’s very little mention of him. According to this book, Lan Wangji is a mere footnote in Wei Wuxian’s life; a childhood acquaintance, a disapproving comrade, and later a man who unraveled the truth because he pursued justice.
“He was just 23 years old when he died,” Wangji lingers over that statement, “23-year-olds are barely adults. They hold the promise of a bright future. They have so much potential inside of them. At 23, some people graduate from college, some take up their first serious job. At 23, young people fall in love and maybe form a life-long bond. Wei Wuxian became a key player in a big conflict at 17, he donated his core at 17. At 17, we still have children in high school. Our seventeen-year-olds aren’t even allowed to drink or drive. Our seventeen-year-olds are still protected and sheltered by their parents.
That is perhaps the biggest tragedy of Wei Wuxian’s life. He was only allowed to live a carefree life for seven years, from the day he was taken off the streets to the day the YunmengJiang Sect was attacked. After that and until his death, his life was marked by war, strife, betrayal, and persecution.
A visionary, a hero, a brilliant mind, dead by what most would consider suicide.” Wangji’s breath hitches and he takes a moment to collect himself, the sentence ringing in his head.
“He deserved better.”
---
He deserved better, Wangji thinks as he walks sedately towards his library.
There had been a glimmer of hope, all those years ago when Mo Xuanyu attempted to resurrect Wei Ying, but when he failed to do so, Wangji felt something shatter in him.
Whatever Wei Ying had done had completely destroyed his soul. His precious, noble soul. One that was formed for justice and kindness.
He deserved better.
He knows what he must do.
---
An immortal’s Golden Core has immeasurable power. It is the result of several hundred years of Cultivation and diligence. Wangji is more powerful than most, having survived through war, strife, grief, and loss.
An immortal’s Golden Core can also be an ingredient.
‘Draw the talismans shown below in the blood of your heart. Pin them in eight directions, north, northwest, west, southwest, south, southeast, east, and northeast. Sit in the exact center of this circle and sacrifice half of your cultivation to the being you wish to summon.’’
Wangji’s heart and hands are steady as he draws the talismans from blood drawn directly from the artery. He pins them in all eight directions and sits down in the middle, his hands moving elegantly to summon his Qi. He breathes in and breathes out, sinking into meditation with habitual ease.
It will work.
It has to.
The room floods with Resentful Energy.
---
He deserves better.
Wangji feels torn apart in ways he has never experienced before. The ritual summoning carves something out of his chest and drags it away. His mouth floods with blood and his body weakens alarmingly.
But it doesn’t matter.
Wei Ying.
---
Wei Ying is more beautiful than Wangji remembers. He is bloodsoaked, covered in cuts and bruises, saturated with Resentful Energy, but he’s alive.
And he’s beautiful.
Wangji stumbles to his feet, shakily walking into the bathroom to fetch some warm water. He walks back, his arms feeling the weight of the bucket like they have never carried such weight before. With every step that he takes towards Wei Ying, his heartbeat spikes up a little. He doesn’t know if he chose the right time. He doesn’t know if Wei Ying’s spirit had shattered before his death and dying had just been the aftermath.
Maybe Wei Ying’s body is here and not his soul.
Wangji cannot bear thinking about it.
With weak, shaking hands and the taste of blood lingering in his mouth, he slowly reaches forward. Layer by layer, he removes Wei Ying’s clothes, his fingertips tingling because his beloved’s body is warm.
He deserves better.
With aching tenderness, he wipes Wei Ying clean, removes all blood, grime, and mud from his body.
Wei Ying doesn’t stir.
---
There’s a gentle touch against his cheek. It is strange enough to wake him up because few people dare touch Lan Wangji. Slender fingers tap once, twice, almost playfully and Wangji knows who it is even before he opens his eyes.
Like a sun emerging from the horizon, Wei Ying appears before him, his smile bright and questioning.
“Wei Ying,” He breathes and Wei Ying nods, eyes a sparkling silver. There is so much beauty in that face that he can’t help but reach forward. Ignoring Wei Ying’s surprise, he cups his face and leans forward pressing his forehead against his beloved’s.
Wei Ying is still for a long moment, but he moves eventually, setting hands on Wangji’s shoulder. He doesn’t push him away, just huffing in soft amusement.
“Wei Ying,” He whispers, closing his stinging eyes, “Forgive Wangji for his selfishness.” He says, “I summoned you.” I summoned you without asking, knowing you wouldn’t desire it.
Wei Ying huffs again and that’s when it strikes him.
He pulls back and looks at his beloved in concern, scanning his eyes, face, neck, and chest quickly, his heart racing.
Why wasn’t Wei Ying speaking?
---
“You’re right in suspecting that his spirit sustained some sort of injury even before he was… killed.” Lan Jingyi says softly, pulling away from the sleeping Wei Ying, “There’s nothing physically wrong with him, Hanguang-jun, please don’t worry! His spirit just needs a little bit of time to recover.”
Wangji nods gratefully as he watches Sizhui lean over Wei Ying, his expression full of wonder and desperate happiness. As Sizhui’s cultivation grew, he started remembering more things from his childhood. They have never spoken on the matter of Wei Ying, but Wangji knows his son remembers more than he did when he was a child.
“Now, please let me check you.”
He levels a sharp look at the younger man but Lan Jingyi is no longer the adoring and naive student Wangji taught all those years ago. He’s a strong, accomplished cultivator and an avid researcher.
Lan Jingyi ignores him cheerfully and checks his core, stepping into Wangji's personal space without a care.
He narrows his eyes at the steely glint in the boy's eyes.
"I know you love him, Hanguang-jun," Lan Jingyi says, "And love is worth a life." They're immortals, life has little meaning for people who have lived for centuries, "But I wonder if the Wei Wuxian that you so adore will be happy about you risking your life for him."
Wangji's eyes flicker towards Wei Ying, who looks exhausted even in his sleep. "He deserved better."
Lan Jingyi is silent for a moment before he speaks, "Sizhui and I read the book on our flight back. Everything was horrible, I'm not surprised that his spirit sustained so much damage. But it is almost entirely intact now. It shows how much he wants to live, Hanguang-jun."
It's a relief.
---
Wei Ying can't speak but his presence is still loud. He rests for a few weeks to recover from his injuries. During that time, Wangji spends most of his days moving from Wei Ying's bedside to the library and back again.
His beloved has an insatiable hunger for knowledge. He wants to know everything about the modern world.
Every morning, Wangji is confronted with a bright face with sparkling eyes waving a book or a scroll in his direction.
Wangji hasn't experienced such liveliness in centuries. The very air of his home glows with Wei Ying's vitality. Wei Ying's body recovers quickly and soon the man is out of bed and following Wangji around.
His heart feels too big for his chest.
By all appearances, Wei Ying is perfectly content. He walks around Cloud Recesses, visits Caiyi Town, and is happy to watch the sunset with Wangji every evening.
That had been Wangji's wish when he performed that summoning.
He wanted Wei Ying to have another chance to live free and happy.
Looking at him now, Wangji wants to reach out, cup that cheerful face, and pepper kisses all over it. He wants to kiss those fluttering eyelids, smooth cheeks, sharp jawline-
That soft, smiling mouth.
Wangji is an immortal. He has endless patience. He can wait for Wei Ying to come to him.
He must wait.
---
The modern world fascinates Wei Ying. His beloved looks at everything from tall buildings to food stalls with wide, stunned eyes. Cloud Recesses and Caiyi Town are still relatively untouched by the passage of time, but Wei Ying has free access to the internet and has learned how to use it within two months of his arrival.
Wangji doesn't restrain him.
He just watches as Wei Ying, his brilliant and enthusiastic love, learns to thrive in his new world.
His voice has still not returned but that doesn't seem to bother Wei Ying. He is delighted to learn that there's a way to communicate nonetheless.
He starts learning sign language and Lan Wangji, with patient and steady hands, practices with him.
---
Lan Sizhui follows Wei Ying around with quiet affection and aching tenderness. He's much older than Wei Ying now, but he remains their son in spirit. He treats Wei Ying like a senior, with respect and adoration.
His Wei Ying notices, of course. At first, he finds the situation quite strange but Wei Ying isn't stupid.
'Lan Zhan,' He asks, 'Who is Sizhui?'
Wangji brings his fingers up and replies, 'He's your a-Yuan. I went looking for you but found him instead.'
Wei Ying's eyes widen and he spins around, running out of the room to seek Sizhui.
Wangji follows sedately and when he finds his love and his son, they're embracing while crying tears of joy.
---
'Lan Zhan, Lan Zhan, Lan Zhan!'
Wangji huffs under his breath and carefully sets his brush down, tucking the scroll away before turning to meet bright silver eyes.
Wei Ying leans forward with an eager expression, 'Do you know where Suibian is?'
Wangji nods, 'In storage. I was able to retrieve it from the Jin Clan.'
'Can I have it?'
Wangji rises smoothly to his feet and leads Wei Ying to storage where both Suibian and Chenqing.
Wei Ying only glances at Chenqing for a moment before reaching for Suibian with a desperate expression.
Suibian, a blade that has remained sealed since Jiang Wanyin unsheathed it once, easily reveals itself again.
Wei Ying spins around eagerly and looks at him with pleading eyes.
As Wangji is able to deny Wei Ying nothing, he reaches for Bichen and they immediately head for the training grounds.
It has been a long time since Wangji has really used Bichen to its full capacity. With half of his core pulsing within Wei Ying, they're almost evenly matched.
Wangji has not fought in ages but Wei Ying is still a Cultivator. The spar is fast-paced and thrilling. Wangji acquaints himself with Wei Ying as his love becomes reacquainted with his sword.
Wei Wuxian had been one of the best swordsmen of his generation. He has lost none of his elegance and skill. Wangji presses him and Wei Ying laughs soundlessly, twirling around him in white GusuLan robes, bright and joyful.
He breaks Wangji's heart and mends it at the same time.
---
Wangji has missed Wei Ying for hundreds of years.
He can't resist the urge to touch. He keeps it chaste and respectful but his hands have a mind of their own in Wei Ying's vicinity.
When they're out and about, Wangji guides Wei Ying with a hand on his back. It becomes natural to grasp his love's elbow if he wants Wei Ying's attention.
His touches can easily be dismissed as gestures of friendship by most. But Wei Ying knows him.
'er-gege,' Wei Ying's smile is sweet, 'Wei Ying is cold.'
Wangji's eyes flicker over to the lit fire briefly before landing on his love, 'Are you feeling well?' He asks in concern, reaching forward to place the back of his hand on Wei Ying's forehead.
His beloved laughs and nods, leaning into the touch with a sly smile, 'I'm well, just cold.'
Wangji feels a stir in his chest at the intent look in Wei Ying's eyes. Hesitantly, he cups Wei Ying's cheek in silent question.
Wei Ying nuzzles his palm, his eyelids fluttering close gently.
Desperation and elation flood him and Wangji sucks in a sharp breath. He moves in a blur, lifting Wei Ying off his seat and placing him on his lap.
Wei Ying gasps and giggles, his tall, strong body seeming to almost shrink as he cuddles close. Wangji wraps both arms around his love and squeezes him tight, rocking them gently as he is assaulted with painful love.
"Wei Ying, Wei Ying, Wei Ying," He chants in Wei Ying's hair, holding him so close, it feels like there's no part of him not touching his love.
When Wei Ying turns to him with a smile in his eyes, Wangji doesn't hesitate to lean forward, bringing their lips together in a long-awaited kiss.
He presses Wei Ying back against the crook of his elbow and tastes his silent laugh on his tongue.
Wangji has never felt so blissful and complete.
---
Jingyi convinces Wei Ying to go to therapy.
Eager to learn and curious, Wei Ying agrees.
He returns from every session with a thoughtful expression.
Months pass but his voice is still lost.
---
They make love and Wei Ying mouths the words he wants to speak. He smiles, sobs, laughs, and pouts as Wangji takes him apart bit by bit.
Wangji has never known such pleasure. He loses himself, drowning in Wei Ying's scent and finding heaven in his body.
He enjoys feeling smooth skin. He sinks his fingers into Wei Ying's silken hair. He tastes the sharp edge of his jaw. He bites. He drives in and takes ownership of Wei Ying's pleasure.
He presses his mischievous sprite into their bed and doesn't hold back, centuries of love pouring out of him.
---
A combination of therapy and Wei Ying's natural approach to life makes his recovery quick. Within a year, he's well-adjusted and happy.
He laughs at almost everything. The first time they fly, the first time they visit an amusement park, the first time they go to an aquarium.
He laughs and Wangji starts noticing the color of his voice returning to it.
Wangji is grateful for what he has. He's grateful that Wei Ying is back, safe, and happy. He is grateful that Wei Ying is unharmed.
But he cannot lie to himself. He misses Wei Ying's voice.
---
"Lan Zhan, Lan Zhan, Lan Zhan,"
Wangji almost misses it, as engrossed as he is. He presses in deep and feels a shiver of pleasure race down his spine. Wei Ying's fingers curl around Wangji's nape and his lips caress his ear.
"Lan Zhan,"
He stills.
Wangji takes a deep, bracing breath and pulls back a little, balancing on his arms to peer down at his lover.
Wei Ying is a vision. His cheeks flushed, his eyes wide and dark with passion, his lips bitten red from Wangji's kisses. His long hair is scattered and wild, a tangle of glossy strands across Wangji's pillow.
"Lan Zhan,"
Wei Ying's lips move and a voice accompanies that movement. It is slightly hoarse, somewhat weak, but it is still the voice he barely remembers.
Heat flares in him and he sinks deeper, pulling a sharp gasp from Wei Ying.
He spends the entire night filling their room with that precious voice.
---
Wei Ying doesn't ask questions. He doesn't ask why Wangji did what he did. He doesn't ask how he did it. His beloved has always been perspective and he understood Wangji's desperation from the moment he woke.
He reads the book that triggered it all and laughs, "Aiya, they make me out to be some sort of martyr for justice." He says fondly, for he is very fond of the modern world.
Sizhui is sitting at his feet, eyes closed in bliss as Wei Ying gently combs his hair, styling it into an intricate braid.
"They're not wrong, though." Jingyi can never sit straight and he has forgotten all of his Lan teachings over the years. He has his legs thrown over the arm of his chair and his head is dangling over another arm, his hair sweeping the floor as he nods.
Ridiculous.
"I never asked to be glorified in such a way." Wei Ying protests with a chuckle.
"Baba should be grateful no one knows about his resurrection." Sizhui pipes up, "At least, you don't have to deal with modern stans."
Wangji arches a brow at the word and Wei Ying laughs, already more accustomed to the Internet language than Wangji is. "Oh, heaven forbid!"
"But listen, you and Hanguang-jun have the greatest love story ever, you could write a book about it, Wei-quanbei!"
Wei Ying tilts his head to the side and Wangji urges him to consider it with a subtle nod. Wei Ying is happy but he's never content to be idle. The modern world doesn't need cultivation, but perhaps it can benefit from their stories.
---
‘Once you summon successfully, you belong to this being for all eternity as payment for the one wish they may grant. Half of your core will live within them. If they die, you die. If they live, you live. If they hurt, you hurt. If they become corrupt, you become corrupt.
You will sacrifice immortality, but not the eternal bond. Every time you are reincarnated into this world, you will be tethered to the being.
Beware.
Wangji tucks the scroll away, sealing it so that it is never discovered again.
He has no regrets.

Chapter 22 - This Venerable One's Shizun is Getting Angry
When Chu Wanning heard this, he was so angry that he could barely keep himself from retracting Tianwen and slashing the Chen couple. But he couldn't open his eyes to confront them. Once he opened his eyes, the barrier would be broken. The Return to Truth barrier could only trap a ghost once. If his interrogation was interrupted, he wouldn't be able to listen to any more of Luo Xianxian's story.
All he could do was contain his overwhelming rage and continue listening to Luo Xianxian.
After she died, her soul entered the underworld, unaware and confused.
The only thing that she could make out was a woman wearing red and green robes with facial features that resembled the Master of Ceremonies Ghost enshrined in a temple. The Master of Ceremonies Ghost stood in front of her and asked her in a soft voice: "You and Chen Bohuan couldn't share a bed in life. Would you like to share the same grave in death?"
She hurriedly agreed: "Yes. . . Yes please!"
"Then I can let him come join you right away. What do you think?"
Luo Xianxian wanted to blurt out a yes, rushing to agree, but suddenly remembered something and froze. "Am I dead?"
"Yes. I am the Master of the Underworld Ghost. I can give you the destiny you deserve and fulfill your long-cherished wish."
Luo Xianxian was startled: "Then, if he comes to join me, will he. . . also die?"
"Yes. However, if loves persists in the afterlife, life and death are irrelevant. What difference does it make?"
Chu Wanning heard this, he thought to himself that he had been right; this Master of Ceremonies Ghost would persuade others to make a wish so that she could reap the benefits. This immortal was truly diabolical.
Although Luo Xianxian died unjustly, she hadn't yet become a malevolent ghost, so she repeatedly shook his head: "No. It wasn't his fault. You can't kill him."
The Master of Ceremonies Ghost smiled compassionately: "And what did you get in return for this kindness?" It didn't force Luo Xianxian to do anything. As an immortal being, they could persuade someone to make a bad wish, but they couldn't force them. Its figure gradually faded away, its voice becoming hazier and hazier.
"Return to the world in seven days. During those seven days, go and see how the Chen family is faring. After that, I'll ask you again if you still have no regrets about your decision."
Seven days later, the day arrived.
Luo Xianxian's soul returned to a conscious form and returned to the world of the living.
Following the old road, she eagerly walked towards the Chen house to see her husband for the last time.
Unexpectedly, the Chen house was decorated with lights, and outside the courtyard, there were fireworks. Bridal flowers were decorating the halls. and a big "double happiness" banner was hanging in front of the main hall. Madam Chen was radiant, not appearing sickly in the slightest. She was smiling and instructing the servants to wrap the bouquets with red silk.
Who. . . was having a wedding?
Who. . . were the bride and groom?
Who. . . no one was engaged, what was going on?
Who. . .
She walked through the busy crowd, listening to the sound of people in the world of the living.
"Congratulations, Madam Chen. Your son is getting engaged to the daughter of the county magistrate. When's the wedding?"
"Madam Chen, you're so fortunate."
"Yao Qianjin is truly the lucky star of the Chen family and they aren't even official yet. Madam Chen, you look so much healthier already."
"Your son and Yao Qianjin are a match made in heaven. I'm so jealous, hahahaha."
Her son. . . Her son. . .
Which son?
Which one was marrying the daughter of the Yao family?
She shuttled back and forth across the familiar front yard, growing more and more frantic, looking for that familiar figure in the midst of all the laughter.
Then she found him.
In front of the peony flowers in the back hall, Chen Bohuan stood with his hands behind his back with a haggard face and sunken cheeks. However, he was dressed in red. Even though it wasn't a traditional wedding outfit, it was a Caidie Town custom. When a prospective son-in-law comes to propose marriage, he should wear this type of red gown.
Was he. . . going to propose. . .?
The decorations in the whole house, the strings of gold and silver beads, was it all. . . was it all from Chen Bohuan, her husband, as a dowry for the daughter of the Yao family?
She suddenly recalled the time when they got married.
There was nothing but two people that shared one heart - nothing else.
There was no master of ceremonies, no bridesmaids, and no dowry. The Chen family weren't wealthy at that time and didn't even own a decent set of jewelry. He went into the yard and picked a delicate orange blossom from under the orange tree they had planted together and carefully tucked it behind her ear.
She asked him: "Does it look good?"
He said it looked beautiful. After a moment of silence, he stroked her hair with some sadness and told her: "You deserve so much better than this."
Luo Xianxian smiled and pursed his lips, saying that it didn't matter.
Chen Bohuan told her that when he married her three years later, he would hold a lively wedding banquet. He would invite people from all over the world. He would have her make a grand entrance on a large sedan chair. He would give her gold and silver to wear, and the dowry gifts would fill the entire main hall.
Those vows still echoed in her ears. Now, all those promises have come true, the hall filled with gifts and guests.
He was getting married, just not to her.
A monstrous flame of anger and sorrow surged through her. Luo Xianxian screamed, trying to tear at the hanging red silk in the room.
But she was a ghost; she couldn't touch anything.
Chen Bohuan seemed to vaguely notice something. He turned around, staring at the silk moving despite there being no wind. His eyes were dull and hollow.
His little sister came over, a white jade hairpin clipped on the side of her bun. She didn't know who she was secretly mourning by wearing it.
She said: "Big brother, go to the kitchen to eat something. You haven't had a proper meal in days. You have to hurry up and go to the county magistrate's house later to propose. Your body won't hold up."
Chen Bohuan suddenly asked without thinking: "Sister, did you hear someone crying?"
". . . What? No, brother, I think you're still. . ." She gritted her teeth and didn't finish her thought. Chen Bohuan still stared at the fluttering silk sheets.
"How is my mother? Is she happy? Has her illness been cured?"
". . . Brother."
". . . I'm glad she's feeling better." Chen Bohuan stood there, muttering to himself. "I already lost Luo Xianxian, I couldn't live without my mother."
"Brother, go eat something. . ."
Luo Xianxian wailed. She yelled and bawled with her head in her hands.
Don't go. . . don't go. . . please don't go. . .
Chen Bohuan said: ". . . Alright."
The tired figure disappeared around the corner.
Luo Xianxian stood alone in a daze, large tears rolling down her face. Suddenly, she heard the brothers of the Chen family who killed her approaching. The second eldest brother and the younger brother were whispering to each other.
"Mother is finally happy. Finally, things are going our way."
"Right? She pretended to be sick for half and year. Now that that cursed bitch is gone, how could she not be thrilled?"
The younger brother tsked and said, "How come she died? We wanted to force her out, not kill her. Was she really so stupid that she couldn't even find someone to help her?"
"Who knows. She was weak, just like her rotten father. It's not our fault that she died. Even though mother pretended to be sick to get rid of her, our family has its own struggles. Think about it, when the options county magistrate’s daughter and some pauper girl, only a fool would choose the latter. Besides, even if Yao Qianjin is a brat, she's got enough money to go around."
"Yes, she's so dumb. She didn't want to live so she let herself freeze to death. No one could've saved her."
The words drifted to her ears.
After Luo Xianxian died, she finally understood the so-called "Divine Fate". She was completely broke and couldn't compare to the county magistrate's daughter who was so noble and honourable.
Only a fool would choose the pauper girl.
She finally snapped.
She returned to the Master of Ceremonies' temple full of hatred and resentment.
She died there. Unlike how weak and helpless she was when she died, she returned with overwhelming hostility.
She used to be such a kind person, but now, all the hatred and evil that had been built inside her while she was alive came flooding out. She roared, her eyes turning red, her soul trembling.
She said: "I, Luo Xianxian, would like to give up my soul and follow the path of wickedness. I only ask you to avenge me! I want the Chen family - I don't want you to kill them!!! I want. . . I want to let my beastly mother-in-law kill her sons by her own hand! All her sons!!! I want Chen Bohuan to go to hell with me!!! Let him be buried with me!!! Do it for me!!! I hate them! I hate them!!!!"
The eyes of the clay sculpture on the shrine shifted and the corners of its mouth slowly raised.
A hollow voice echoed through the temple.
"I have heard your prayers. It will be as you wish. As an evil spirit - kill all those that you resent -"
A piercing blood-red light flashed, and Luo Xianxian couldn't remember anything after that.
However, Chu Wanning already what happened next. After that, the Master of Ceremonies Ghost manipulated Luo Xianxian's spirit to possess Madam Chen and force her to kill each member of the Chen family.
The red coffin on the top of the mountain, the reason why Chen Bohuan was dug up, naturally, was because the Master of Ceremonies Ghost was fulfilling Luo Xianxian's greatest wish - "Let Chen Bohuan and I be buried together." Moreover, it deliberately placed the coffin on the property of Chen Bohuan and his new wife as an act of spiteful revenge.
As for the floral scent in Chen Bohuan's coffin, it was the scent of the butterfly fragrance powder that Luo Xianxian had worn before her death. The resentment and fragrance in the coffin were both extremely strong because Luo Xianxian's soul was resting alongside Chen Bohuan inside it.
Luo Xianxian had no family. According to the customs, if a person like that dies, their bones should be cremated instead of buried. Therefore, she had no physical body and could only be contained within the coffin by the Master of Ceremonies Ghost. That's why, when Chu Wanning opened the coffin with his willow vine, Luo Xianxian had escaped the coffin's containment. Her soul flew away, and it was difficult to recapture. It was a situation of "a closed coffin being heavy with resentment but an open coffin being light".
But during the illusion, why did other people have dead bodies as their partners but Chen Bohuan only had a paper-mache ghost bride?
Chu Wanning thought for a moment and figured out this much:
The Master of Ceremonies Ghost didn't break its promise. The paper-mache bride was the "physical body" that it gave Luo Xianxian. It was a vessel so that Luo Xianxian could be buried with Chen Bohuan.
Everything was clear.
Chu Wanning looked at the weak and helpless girl in the barrier. He wanted to say something but didn't know what to say.
Elder Yuheng wasn't particularly good at comforting words. He couldn't think of anything, so he stayed silent, not having anything he could say.
The girl stood in the vast darkness with her soft round eyes open.
Chu Wanning looked at her eyes and couldn't bear it. He wanted to leave. He didn't want to take another look. He was about to open his eyes and leave the Return to Truth barrier.
Then the girl suddenly spoke.
"Lord Yama. I. . . I have something else I want to tell you."
Chu Wanning: ". . . Alright."
The girl suddenly lowered her head, covered her eyes, and cried. She said softly, "Lord Yama, I don't know what I did after that. But, I. . . I really didn't want to kill my husband. I didn't want to be an evil spirit. I really. . ."
"I didn't steal the oranges. I really am Chen Bohuan's wife. And I truly, truly didn't want to hurt anyone either."
"I truly didn't want anyone to get hurt. Please believe me."
Her voice choked and trembled, her words breaking.
"I. . . didn't lie. . ."
I didn't lie.
Why is it that, in this life, almost no one believed me?
She sobbed and screamed. Chu Wanning's voice sounded low in the darkness. He didn't say much, but he said it with conviction.
"Okay."
Luo Xianxian was shocked.
Chu Wanning said: "I believe you."
Luo Xianxian wiped her tears with her hands indiscriminately but couldn't hold them back. Hiding her tearful face, she lowered her head and bowed her head in his direction in the darkness.
Chu Wanning opened his eyes.
After he opened his eyes, he didn't say anything.
Time in the barrier wasn't the same as in reality. He had stayed there for a long time but, for the people waiting outside, it had only been a moment. Mo Ran hadn't returned yet. The few remaining people in the Chen family were still looking at him with bated breath.
Chu Wanning withdrew Tianwen and said to Madam Chen: "I'll avenge you. You can find peace."
Madam Chen froze and opened her blood-red eyes, and suddenly fell to the ground with a thud, knocked out cold.
Chu Wanning raised his head again. His eyes swept across Chen's face then landed on the youngest son. His voice didn't waver, and it was still frighteningly cold.
"I'll ask one last time." He said each word slowly and decisively. "Did you really not recognize whose voice that was?"

My lengthy, angry ACOSF rant review.
Spoilers, TW for mental, emotional, physical, and sexual abuse.
.
.
.
I loved ACOTAR. I still love ACOTAR. I always will love ACOTAR. But every book afterwards made me give up more and more. ACOMAF romanticized an abusive relationship and assassinated characters for the author's convenience. ACOWAR was a bunch of boring and inconsequential death scares. ACOFAS was all-round dreadful. And each book kept shitting on and pushing away Lucien for no reason.
I'd like to preface this by saying I hated Nesta too. I hated the way she treated Feyre in ACOTAR especially, and I wasn't even too excited for this book because I wasn't that keen on Nesta as a character.
Nesta's POV and her backstory changed my perspective. It does not excuse her actions. All Nesta stans can hold these characters accountable for what they do - trauma is a reason, not an excuse. I, and many others, sided with Nesta because of the way she's treated by everyone else in this book. Also, if you're going to hate Nesta for not teaching Feyre how to read and letting her hunt at fourteen, (which I did, and are very valid things to hate), AT LEAST hold Elain accountable too.
This book. This fucking book.
Shall we start with the intervention? Feyre on her little power trip thinks that her boyfriend that hates Nesta and Nesta hates back, Nesta's ex-best friend, and her possible mate who she never talks to should be at this stupid fucking intervention??? Excuse me???
Remember in ACOMAF when Feyre wouldn't shut up about how rich Rhysand is? Feyre literally has four or five houses and is always talking about how much jewelry and lingerie she can afford because Rhysand is so rich??? Well, Nesta has a few shots. So you know what Feyre does? Humiliates Nesta at this "intervention", TEARS DOWN HER HOME, and forces her to go to the Illyrian training camp.
That was the god awful premise for this book.
Did you think Elain wasn't there because she was against the "intervention"? Nope! She was packing Nesta's belongings without permission.
Remember in ACOMAF when it's made a big fucking deal that locking up a traumatised woman is extremely damaging? Well, when Nesta decides she doesn't want to be in Illyria, Feyre locks her in the House of Wind. Nesta can't fly, so her only way of leaving is down the TEN THOUSAND STEPS, that Feyre KNOWS Nesta isn't capable of climbing.
Feyre's pregnant. In ACOFAS she randomly decided that she wanted a baby to remember Rhysand by if he dies. Which doesn't make any sense because they made that stupid fucking death pact in ACOWAR. It's just SJM superimposing her pregnancy onto her early 20's protagonist. Ignoring the fact that Feyre isn't ready for a baby and Rhysand CERTAINLY isn't, and with a war just ended and another looming and so much trauma and a DEATH PACT are all such horrible circumstances to bring a child into, Feyre is already pregnant. Remember when SJM made a big deal about Fae babies being so hard to conceive, and Feyre said in ACOFAS they wouldn't have to worry for a long time because it can take years to conceive your first Fae child? Well it's been no more than 3 or 4 months and Feyre's already pregnant. Yep.
Also the birth will kill her. Because of course it will. Rhysand KNEW this, and still agreed to try for a baby.
There's no solution. Abortions don't exist for some stupid reason, and a C section would apparently kill Feyre?
(Wasn't this book supposed to be about Nessian?)
In ACOWAR, Cassian was on the battlefield with his entrails around his knees. Someone had to literally hold his guts in for him, and he's fine, but you're telling me a C section would kill Feyre?
Don't worry, this is just setting up the AWFUL ending to this book.
ACOSF amounts to Nesta being gaslit into believing her abusers are right. Her friends and family slut shame her and shame her for her lifestyle constantly. Cassian says it took him decades to work through some of his trauma, and he tried to drink and fuck it away too, but suddenly when Nesta does so it's heinous? Nesta's barely twenty five and she's expected to cope better than these ancient immortals.
Hell, didn't SJM write ACOMAF? Nobody expected Feyre to pick herself up so quickly. The IC (excluding Rhysand) respected her boundaries for the most part and understood when it was grief, trauma, and turmoil that made her angry, sad, want to be left alone, etc. But that's all forgotten here.
Amren also compares Nesta to the people in, and says she belongs in, The Court of Nightmares. You know, the murderers, abusers and rapists? This innocent woman who had a few shots and a bit of sex is on par with them, apparently!
The sex scenes.
SJM is scared to say vagina so she says sex.
She says seed to mean semen.
Apparently the word cunt turns SJM on. I just found Cassian saying that kinda cringe because I'm Bri'ish so the word cunt really isn't a big deal.
Back to the baby killing Feyre, because this is definitely what we all wanted from this book as indicated by the change in covers and format and title... Rhysand decides not to tell Feyre. He tells her friends and family, and tells them not to tell her.
SJM loves sweeping Rhysand's abuse from the first book under the rug and claiming it's always about Feyre's choice... where is that here, MAAS? WHERE IS IT?
Anyway, when Nesta rightfully decides to tell Feyre (although it is kind of out of spite), Rhysand threatens to kill Nesta.
And I believed him. With the way he treats his """mAtE tHaT hE lOvEs sO mUcH""" and all the people he's mindlessly killed before, do you really think he wouldn't kill the person who gave Feyre an inch of autonomy?
So what does Cassian do? His lover who he cares deeply about and suspects is his mate has received a death threat from tHe mOsT pOwErFuL hIgH lORd iN hIsToRy.
Cassian simply gets Nesta out of the court.
EXCUSE ME?
He doesn't breathe ONE word to Rhysand about this. This Illyrian WARRIOR who fought with his GUTS HANGING OUT didn't dare step up to the hIGh lOrD who he considers his brother and sparrs and fights with all the time?
Cassian literally does nothing.
Was it not Rhysand himself who said Mated males are dangerous? Can kill anyone who looks at their mate? Can be dangerous simply leaving the house? Rhys and Feyre both pull the Mate card to justify their bad actions on the other's behalf... and Cassian just tried to get Nesta out of the court?
Also, this High King bullshit.
I swear to fucking god, if SJM DARES to make this abusive, power-tripping, mOsT pOwErFuL hIgH lOrD eVEr, husband-insert of hers hIgH kInG, I will fight her in the street.
My beloved Lucien is in this book. Only for him to be used and shat on.
I really liked it when he calmed Cassian down with just a look though. Yes please fox man.
Helion is also in this book. Nothing to do with Lucien.
Eris is also in this book. ERIS. Lucien's eldest brother. The same one who abused him for years, but according to SJM he's slightly better, because at least he didn't agree to kill Lucien's lover. He betrayed his daddy that one time, therefore Eris is good. Y'know, the same Eris who abused Mor? Left her laying on the Autumn Court border with a nail in her womb? Well SJM is going back on her own canon to redeem yet ANOTHER abusive male, while continuing to demonize Tamlin for things he only happened to do when SJM decided the villain from the first book was sexy.
Nesta and Cassian are Mates.
Remember when Mates were supposed to be a rare and sacred thing? Now SJM dishes them out like Oprah.
I don't want these characters to be mates. I want to see them slowly fall in love. But SJM is incapable of writing that so she forces them together with the mAtInG bOnD. That's literally the only basis for most of these relationships, Feysand especially.
The only relationship where the bond would make sense is between Helion and The Lady of Autumn. Who still isn't named. But I will die on the hill that they're mates, I can feel it between them.
I wanted someone to die in this book. I predicted that it would either be Helion or Tarquin, but Tarquin isn't even in this one.
And the ending.
SJM can't write a decent climax, so she kills both Feyre and Rhysand for the second time. Yep.
The baby is being born which stupidly kills Feyre, and thankfully takes Rhysand with them.
Nesta decides to save them. Bad choice. But she decides to save them! Because she's so powerful and she ATE THE CONTENTS OF THE CAULDRON and she's CONNECTED TO THE MOTHER.
Do you know what happens.
Nesta loses her powers.
NESTA.
LOSES.
HER.
POWERS.
The powers we've hardly seen, the powers that were briefly mentioned and used ONCE in ACOWAR, then we saw like two flashes of in this book? They're GONE now. GONE SO NESTA CAN SAVE HER ABUSIVE SISTER AND ABUSIVE HUSBAND WHO ABUSES THEM BOTH.
Nesta is just an Amren now. They both fought for their powers, and had to give them up to save people who didn't deserve it. Now they're anticlimactically trapped in powerless bodies.
Also, and I can't BELIEVE I didn't originally include this - do you know what else Nesta TRADED HER POWERS FOR?
Illyrian anatomy so she can carry Cassian's baby one day.
EXCUSE ME?
I am so fucking SICK TO DEATH of the narrative that every woman needs a man and children to be happy. SJM clearly loves this because she's literally only keeping Amren and Nesta alive now to be sex objects to their partners and nothing else seeing as their POWERS WERE RIPPED AWAY FROM THEM, and now NESTA TRADED THOSE POWERS TO HAVE A BABY SHE DOESN'T EVEN KNOW SHE WANTS? Nesta does NOT strike me as a motherly type. She's the wine aunt, she and Cassian are the couple that go on holiday a lot and and babysit their nieces and nephews, but nope. Nesta HAS to have children.
The Feysand baby is called Nyx. That's just so underwhelming, you go from these huge, multiple syllable names like Amarantha and Morrigan and Lucien to Nyx? I get it's supposed to be unique but it's not even meaningful. It's just more shit-flavoured icing on the hAHa nIgHt uWu cake. I prefer Renesmée.
Nesta is wrong somehow. She says she's sorry as she's saving them. FOR WHAT? For being a little rude to Feyre as all sisters are? And rightfully hating your sister's abuser?
Oh yeah, remember in ACOWAR when Nesta took care of a comatose, starving Elain for months? Elain is randomly okay now because she takes care of her mental health the stereotypical way of baking cakes, and not drinking and fucking, which she shames Netsa for.
Remember the slut shaming, demeaning comments that the whole iNnEr cIrClE made about Nesta? They all expect apologies from her. For some reason.
Nesta has done nothing wrong. She coped with her trauma and minded her business in her own ways, and she's expected to apologise to the people who control and emotionally abuse her.
Nothing that any of these characters did to Nesta is right. Nesta wasn't okay at the end, this wasn't Nesta's healing story. This is Nesta being shamed and degraded until she submits.
Oh I can't believe I forgot to write this in my first draft of this review, do you know how Nesta "overcomes" her grief about her Father's death and her conflicting feelings about him and his life and her guilt? When she visits his grave for the first time, she takes Nyx.
NYX.
She holds NYX up to the grave and talks about how it's his grandson.
GO AWAY YOU STUPID DEMON BABY THIS IS NOT YOUR BOOK.
Speaking of, it's revealed that Nesta was abused by her mother and grandmother in this book? Something we were all looking forward to is seeing more of the Archeron's mother seeing as Feyre was so young when she died, but... nope. She gets a few vague mentions, and this newly revealed abuse is entirely glossed over. Nesta was also actively groomed by an older man at 14. But SJM glosses over this because of course she does.
Finally, the bonus chapters.
My edition came with a bonus chapter from Feyre's POV. It was pointless and I hated it.
There's another bonus chapter from Azriel's POV. Once I'd finished this book, he was one of the few characters I still harboured a shred of respect for.
Then I read his bonus chapter.
This exists to purely objectify Elain.
Whether you ship Elain with Azriel, or Lucien, or neither, this chapter is disgusting. He thinks about her coming on his tounge, and other things simply just to please him.
He then dares to suggest that "the Cauldron picked wrong" in choosing Lucien as Elain's mate?
No Azriel, SJM picked RIGHT in not giving each Archeron sister a bAt bOy.
Rhysand does the only right thing he's ever done by telling Azriel to stay away from Elain, but then he has to ruin it by clarifying that it's only so they can manipulate and use Lucien more.
Oh, and Azriel wants to kill Lucien.
Need I remind you that Lucien respects Azriel? Lucien is another victim of the Night Court's needless, baseless torment, and Azriel is no exception.
Lucien stays well out of Elain's way because she makes it clear that she's not interested in a mate, but Azriel wants to kill him simply for being her mate.
Lucien has done nothing. And I mean literally NOTHING to warrant any of this treatment. From the bAt bOyS, from Feyre, from his family, from SJM, from the deluded part of this fandom that think he's done wrong. NOTHING.
All I liked about this book was the Lucien scenes (which is a given), ((although I hated the way everyone talks about him behind his back)), Nesta's relationship with the house, Emerie and Gwyn, the evidence that Gwynriel is endgame and subsequently Elucien, and the book love. Everything else was horrible. Oh, and Nesta hates Rhysand. I love that for her, because everyone else bows at his feet.
Oh yeah, when Nesta DARES suggest that Rhysand is an "arrogant, preening asshole" which I think is a compliment, Cassian can't take Rhys' cock out of his mouth for one second, and has to get mad at her for having an opinion. Don't even get me started on Azriel in that scene.
If each book after ACOTAR made me slowly give up, this book made me give up altogether. I cannot go on to support this victim-blaming, abuse-forgiving, misogynistic series. I've given up on SJM, and the only characters I care about anyone are Lucien, Nesta, Helion, and Tarquin. I'll continue to read this series to see if SJM redeems herself, but I'll be downloading them for free. I'm not giving this piece of shit any more of my money.
I hope we don't get the Lucien book. I don't want her to slaughter my fox in the way she slaughtered LITERALLY EVERYONE ELSE.
Thanks for listening.
Edit: I put the review on Goodreads!

Some romanian myths and legends I grew up with that might be relevant to Servamp somehow
Romania has A LOT of myths and legends, especially about vampires and spirits, and all of them depend on the area you go to. Most myths you might have heard come from Transylvania because of Dracula, but these are all from my grandparents' area and the area I grew up in, which is a little far from Transylvania. Also a little warning: we are weird.
1. VAMPIRES ARE DESCENDANTS OF DEMONS
This is a pretty popular one, and the reason for it is Vlad Tepes. It's said that he made a blood pact with the devil for him to become a vampire, and what do we have in Servamp?
If the text ain't clear enough, it's about how Sensei's reincarnation technique is similar to that of a Servamp's creation and how it includes the vessel drinking the blood of the core. And sure, maybe it's not the blood pact we've read in stories and seen in movies, but... the blood is offered (forcefully or not), so it's like a pact made between the vessel and the core, a pact for immortality.
It's also believed that after death, the demon they made the pact with, takes them with them in the underworld and turns them to demons. And in Servamp we have the Inners who practically turned some humans into vampires by becoming part of them, and I think we could consider the underworld their inner world, since it's also part of the Servamp.
2. STRIGOI (stree-go-ee)
I actually wanted to turn the myths about them into a Servamp theory because there are a lot of similarities between them, but we still have yet to learn a lot about Servamps and their Inners.
Nowadays, they're called evil spirits who come to torment their families and friends who did them wrong during their life (similar to poltergeists). Back in the day, they were called living dead or vampires. It was believed to be the actual dead who got up of their graves and went to torment their families and friends and even to kill them for, you guessed right, blood.
It's also believed that strigoi can change into animals, usually bats or black cats. And what do we have in Servamp?
Plus the other Servamps with their animal forms.
And Hugh is the fucking representation of a traditional vampire c'moooon.
And it's not over.
They only got out of their graves at night because they couldn't maintain their human forms in the sunlight. And what do we have in Servamp?
But here's another super interesting thing. There are many ways to kill one, but one of the methods used in my grandparents' area was to put a wooden or silver stake through them - usually the chest to pierce the heart - so that they wouldn't get out of their graves anymore.
And what do we have in Servamp?
They also used to open up their graves when the sun was the strongest so "they'd burn the strigoi in them", but this is not relevant to Servamp.
But wait, there's more! In some cases, strigoi are born with weird conditions, but in most cases, it was believed that the people most likely to turn into strigoi, were the ones who
Practiced witchcraft (though looking back at the stuff we do/did, we all practice(d) witchcraft dkdksk)
Lived in heavy sin
Died of su!c!de
Died a tragic death
Born the seventh child of the same sex
It's not known yet how Servamps died but I mentioned these because all of us headcanon that they died in tragic ways. Plus there are seven vampires, though I know that this is related to their sins, but the coincidence it's interesting.
3. MOROI (moh-roh-ee)
These are like... a lower class of Strigoi I think I could say. The only difference between them is that these ones aren't as strong and dangerous. And they only come to kill and eat animals.
But what do we have in Servamp?
Subclasses. (I can't add pics anymore so imagine here a pic of Belkia and Hugh and Kuro talking about them.)
4. TO KEEP EVIL SPIRITS OR STRIGOI AWAY FROM YOUR HOME, YOU HAVE TO PUT GARLIC BY ALL YOUR WINDOWS OR CLEAN THE OUTSIDE AREA AROUND YOUR HOUSE WITH A BROOM MADE OF OAK OR PINE BRANCHES AND THEN LEAVE IT BY THE ENTRANCE DOOR (we're weird, ok?)
But here's our traditional whoosh-spirits-away broom and what we have in Servamp.
5. BLACK CATS
Hilariously enough, even if it's believed that Strigoi can take their form, we don't consider them bad luck. Unless they cross your path. And if this happens, you gotta take three steps back and spit three times (WE'RE WEIRD, OK?), one it's to ward off the bad luck, one so the cat won't take a life away and one I forgot.
But the thing related to Servamp here is that we consider it good luck to keep a black cat around your house. Not only it keeps evil spirits away, but it also brings in health because of the myth of their nine lives. And Kuro considers himself a soothing/healing cat.
6. TO LIFT GENERATION CURSES PUT ON YOUR FAMILY YOU GOTTA PUT A VIRGIN ON A HORSE AND HAVE THEM SURROUND YOUR HOUSE FOR EACH CURSED GENERATION. WHEN THE HORSE DIES, THE CURSE IS LIFTED (I'm sorry we're so cruel)
And we have this sexy motherfucker on a skeleton horse AND I'M NOT SAYING HE'S A VIRGIN, BUT WHO KNOWS? 👀
7. IF SOMEONE DIES AT A YOUNG AGE OR BEFORE GETTING MARRIED YOU GOTTA GIVE THEM A SILVER JEWERLY - USUALLY A RING - SO THEY WON'T COME BACK TO LOOK FOR A SPOUSE OR TAKE SOMEONE FROM THE FAMILY THEY WERE CLOSE WITH WITH THEM (example: my aunt lost a 12yo daughter and they forgot to give her the silver necklace. Four months later, her sister died, who she was very close with)
But whatever, here's Lawless with what I think is silver besides the gold.
PLEASE NOTICE HIS PURPLE UNDERWEAR

Cupbearer (Eren/Reader)
Part I
Part II
Part III
Part IV (in progress)
Warnings: MINORS DO NOT INTERACT (im watching you, if you see this, begone!), vampire!eren, hunter!reader, fem!reader, smut, some amount of predator/prey dynamics but only kinda?? there is also a significant age difference but only cos eren is immortal and all that jazz. we're all adults here. there will eventually be smut.... and do i really need to say that there's gonna be blood in a vampire fic?
Description: A story of falling in love in 4 parts.
Eren is a bad man (well, a bad Creature) who has done bad things. When he meets the great-great-great granddaughter of one of his former friends in his favorite blood bar, however, he thinks it might not matter so much what happened in the past, so long as he can make the future something worth living to see.
Ao3 link here
Part I
A lamb in a den of lions, he thought, watching the newcomer as she settled in, ordering whiskey neat. A fool, for sure.
A fool she may be, perhaps, but even fools could be dangerous. Eren had known that the young woman was a Hunter from the moment she entered the bar (everyone else had, too) but something told Eren that she was hardly cut from the same cloth as the average Bane of Creatures. There was something in her movements— a predatory grace in her stride, perhaps, or a stiff, straight posture, with muscles tensed and ready for action— that betrayed her power to him; but for all that, she really was lovely, and the image of a rabbit caught in a patch of bramble came to mind whenever he looked at her.
Sitting in a corner, drinking his B-neg, he watched the woman as she sipped her drink, checking over her shoulder now and then. She was wary— as anyone with good sense would be— but she didn't appear frightened, and Eren's curiosity was piqued. It wasn't every day that someone so bold happened across his path, and it became harder and harder for him to resist the urge to approach her.
Eventually, Eren gave in to his curiosity— he never had been very good at or even particularly fond of restraining himself— and when he came silently up behind her, the newcomer didn't even notice his presence until he murmured a greeting close to her ear.
"Hello, little love," he said, and she startled in her seat. "Are you lost?"
She turned around then, her eyes big and bright in the dim lighting of the bar, but by the time she managed to look at the spot where Eren would have been, he was already seated on the barstool beside her. Eventually, though, her eyes found his, and when their gazes met, Eren was amused to find no fear in her visage.
"Far from it," she told him, turning her body towards him. "I am precisely where I mean to be."
Eren blinked, nonplussed.
"Curious," he said, leaning forward so that she could see the sharpness of his teeth as he spoke. "Do you fancy yourself a wolf among sheep, little Hunter? Did you really not think we would know you for what you are the moment you crossed the threshold of this place?"
Any normal, human ear would have missed the way her heart leapt in her chest, but Eren missed nothing. The fear he had hoped to inspire in her was present after all, but her face never moved from its impenetrable mask— an affectation that was somehow both soft and steely at once.
"That's not what I'm here for," she told him, widening the distance between her knees as she readjusted on the stool. "I'm here to discover the truth."
The truth— what an odd notion!— and yet Eren sensed no lie in her.
"You're a strange one," he told her, but forced himself to relax his posture to appear lazy, almost drunk. "Most Hunters— even ones so pretty as yourself— shoot first and worry about the truth later. What's your name?"
Her nose crinkled. "It's polite to give your own first."
Sharp, he thought, watching her closely. Names have power.
"Eren Jaeger."
"Eren Jaeger," she echoed, then extended her hand. "My name is (Y/N)."
That name sounded familiar to Eren— and though most names did after living a few centuries, this one seemed to hit closer to home. He knew that name, and knew it well…
"What's your surname?"
(Y/N)'s eyes flashed with an emotion that Eren didn't catch.
"Kirschtein," she replied, averting her eyes. "I'm Jean Kirschtein's great-great-great granddaughter."
And damn if Eren didn't want to laugh. Perhaps his nosiness into the posterity of his old acquaintances really was as bad of an idea as Armin always seemed to imply.
"I see," he said, and he truly, truly did. "Then you know who I am— what I am— and what I've done."
More than that, if she truly did know who he was, it was unlikely that she had come without a specific purpose in mind.
(Y/N) nodded, confirming his suspicions. "I was digging around in my family history and— well— I read what my grandfather wrote, and I just— I wanted the truth."
So wide-eyed, so innocent— so alive. Eren could see now her resemblance to Jean; if they were not similar in looks, she had his sharpness, his humanness… and, as he always had Jean, Eren envied her for it.
"If that's the case, then I'm sure you know that you don't get something for nothing," he told her, sipping his drink just to watch the expression on her face as he let the warm blood slide down his throat. "And that dealings with me can be dangerous."
"Jean Kirschtein loved you, Eren Jaeger," she told him fiercely and with such conviction that Eren nearly choked on his drink. "To take such a tone with me, to threaten me, the last living remnant of him, is the most disrespectful thing I've ever heard."
Eren was about to say that he didn't owe her, Jean Kirschtein, or anyone else any sort of respect, but she plowed on, unwilling to let him say his piece.
"You broke his heart a million ways by doing what you did, but— but he was your friend through all of it, no matter what side each of you were on," (Y/N) continued, passion aflame in her eyes. "I can't even imagine what inspired such a love, such a loyalty from him that he would forgive you for the horrors you caused. That's what I'm here to find out— what you have that a man such as him would find you redeemable."
The reproof in her words stung, but Eren was too old to argue. She could never understand what it was like back then.
"I understand more than you think," she snapped, and Eren actually flinched. "I understand that you hurt the woman my grandfather loved immeasurably, and that he forgave you for that even though he never even particularly liked you. I understand that you were ready to sacrifice the world for that selfsame woman, for Jean, and for all the others. I understand that you're a monster who loved and was loved back, but I want to know why."
How? Eren thought, shaken.
How had she known his thoughts? It was as though she had seen straight through to his innermost being.
Without speaking, she answered his question. (Y/N) took a hand and rolled up her left sleeve, presenting to him a scarred marking in the shape of a pentagram.
"My grandfather didn't settle down with just anyone," she told him, holding his gaze. "I come from a line of powerful witches, all of whom possessed strong claircognizance. Paired with my nature as an empath, you can assume I know what you're going to say before you say it."
Eren hummed, trying to appear less perturbed than he was.
"And yet you hunt Creatures for a living; strange, since you're practically one of us yourself."
(Y/N) glowered. "I hunt monsters that prey on my people, not Creatures. No innocent has died by my hand."
The unlike you went unsaid, but that didn't mean that Eren didn't hear it anyway.
"Don't get high-and-mighty with me, girl," he told her roughly. "Knowing is one thing, but experiencing what we experienced is another."
"I'm not here to judge you," she replied. "I told you, I'm here for truth, nothing more."
"And I told you that the truth doesn't come for free," he told her darkly. "You must give me something in return."
(Y/N) set her jaw.
"What would you have of me?"
It was a mean, base request. Eren was wicked for even thinking it, and vile for wanting it— but looking at the great-to-however-many-degrees granddaughter of a good man that he had once known, seeing the vitality that brought a flush to her cheeks and thumping to her heart, he knew he couldn't pass up this golden opportunity.
It had been so long since he'd had a Companion.
"Become my cupbearer for six moons," he told her, crossing his arms. "Starting with tonight, the moon becomes new; let me drink from you until six of these have passed, and along the way, you will learn what you want to know."
(Y/N) eyed him warily.
"Can you assure my physical safety?"
Eren grunted, almost amused. It was a bit late to be worrying about that.
"I think you know that I can."
"And will you let me continue in my duties as a Hunter?" she asked, her eyes searching his own as if she would find the answer to her question there inside the same eyes he'd had since he was nineteen. "Completely uninhibited?"
"That depends. Will you kill Creatures in the discharge of your duties?"
(Y/N) made a face. Eren had forgotten how expressive mortals could be, but he found that being reminded was not altogether unpleasant.
"You know I will," she replied, "But you have my word that any killing won't be unprovoked."
Eren supposed it was as close to a compromise as he could expect.
"As you wish it, so shall it be."
He turned away, signaling to the bartender for another drink, but a lightning-fast hand shot out to grab his wrist.
"Swear it," she demanded. "I need us to be Bound by it."
The meanness in Eren finally won over. He reached forward, grabbing (Y/N) by the neck, and the silver rings on her fingers burned him as she pulled at his hand to try and restore her breath. Eyes from all around the room were on the two of them— had been, since the very beginning— but it was only once the Hunter before him began to look appropriately humbled that he withdrew.
"Do not touch me without my permission," he said, "And I will return the favor."
(Y/N) looked at him then, but there was still no fear in her eyes. Anger, yes, but no fear.
She must be mad, or foolish one, he thought, considering her for a moment. I always have been partial to mad fools in general, but…
Something about her seemed different, and Eren didn't know what to do other than accept what she had to offer. Heavens knew he was getting the better end of the deal anyway.
"Swear it," she repeated, this time more quietly. "Give your word, and I will be your cupbearer."
Eren brought his hand up and unbuttoned the top three buttons of his shirt. At his will, the nail tip of his forefinger sharpened, hardening into a point; he used it to draw an 'X' onto the skin just over where his heart rested inside his chest, cold and dead. Blood welled into the cut— precious little, compared to that of a human, but still enough to run down his chest in smudges— and it was by that blood that he swore. He spoke the terms of their agreement, then took the blood from his wound with the pad of his finger and marked the same spot over (Y/N)'s own heart.
"Satisfied?" he asked, their faces almost touching, and (Y/N) shivered.
"Yes."
Her warm, living breath fanned over his face with her reply, and Eren took the moment to close his eyes and appreciate the scent and sensation of it.
"You may think you're satisfied," he told her, pulling away, "But you don't know the meaning of the word."
She eyed him warily, but before she could speak, he added, "In six months' time, I'll ask you the same question, and it is then that you will truly know what it is to feel satisfied— satiated in every way."
"As you say."
It was a throwaway comment, nothing more than a dismissal, really; but Eren felt like it was the start of something truly remarkable.

Finished Supernova! I had no idea how it was really going to end, but it was pretty satisfying! I liked the ending but sweet rot the epilogue? I have MANY feelings about the epilogue. (Spoilers in review under the cut)
1: It took me a bit to realize that it wasn’t from Nova’s perspective (she can be very salty so the sass was usual)
2: The liking Max thing made it VERY clear that it wasn’t Nova’s perspective. (otherwise we would have some serious problems) But really Magpie? You’re gonna fall in love with Max? That was more of a twist than anything in this series, honestly.
3: Narcissa is on Sketch’s team’s float? Did she join their patrol unit? Does it really matter if the Renegades become something else now that everyone has powers?
4: Magpie you little thief. Don’t you understand that you don’t have to steal to survive?
5: Magpie’s backstory? epic. But then I realized that she is freaking EVIE? Evie Artino? like ma’am that was not a burglar in your house, that was an assassin! How did no one realize that Maggie came from Nova’s house?
6: WHAT POWERS DID STERLING AND JADE GET? Is Sterling really the Silver Snake? What powers did Sampson Cartwright get? What powers did Oscar’s mom get?
7: Is Magpie right? Will there just be another huge power struggle or is everything solved (well, to the point anything can be)
Also not epilogue comments but
- Callum got killed? It felt inevitable but seriously you can’t just kill off my favorite character like that
- Blacklight dead? Is there an opening in the Council or what? (they never replaced Lady Indomitable, so I’m guessing not)
- Phobia being Adrian’s creation? Called it as soon as Adrian’s “nightmare monster” was introduced. Does this mean that his drawings can become immortal if he like, idk, makes them solar powered or something? Feeds off of hope? Just spitballin’ here
- Ace killing Nova’s family? My dad actually called that. I wasn’t so sure. But the fact that THAT was when Lady Indomitable died sends a shiver up my spine. “I’m not sure I believe in coincidences anymore” like their stories were linked from the start my man.
- Like I’m glad that prodigies are the new normal and that Max can be around people again but are we just going to ignore that the Renegade Council (as far as I know they must still have some bit of authority) is basically a four-person dictatorship? No democracy! No voting! What the heck?

The fight had been rough but not as rough as you were feeling in the moment. You had gotten serverly hurt and had been in the medbay for about a week now and you had a longer road ahead. There had been an explosion and instead of turning to run away you had ran toward one of your team members that had been to distracted to realize what was going on, you had successfully gotten him shoved out of the way but you had taken the brunt of the blast.
Now you were laying here staring at the celing trying to stay distracted as Bruce and Tony looked at your completely shaddered knee and the burns up your leg. Fingers crossed that they would have good news soon.
"Well as of right now kid your out of commission." Tony said helping you sit back up.
"Meaning?" You pulled one of the pillows down so that you could sit up without being uncomfortable.
"Meaning right now, the way it all looks, your gonna be stuck in the bed until it fully heals and after wards theres really no way to tell if your going to be able to work in the field again." Burce said looking at the xrays again. "And your gonna have to have surgery in order to put all the right pieces back in the right places, but we cant really do that until some of the burns heal or at least start to heal. Its gonna be a long drawn out process unfortunately." He sighed setting the charts back down and walking over to you.
"Fucking hell! You mean I'm gonna be pushing paper work? I might as well go work in a damn office with four white walls and a poster that says 'hang in there, its almost Friday'." You placed your head in your hands.
"Hey! At least our paper work is more exciting than just running numbers." Tony said placing a hand on your back. He had been like a fsther to you, taking you in when you didnt have anywhere else to turn except the streets. Your own family had abandoned you at a young age and you had been leaning toward a dark path until Tony. "Besides with your expertise you dont have to sit behind a desk, your fingers arent blown off, you can still hack into stuff I'm sure."
"Tony we had a deal when I moved in. No hacking but you would train me and I could actually do good. Now look at me."
"I said no hacking the good guys, and if I remember correctly you were the one jumping close to the bomb not away from. I hate to be this way y/n but the only one to blame is yourself on this one."
"He would have been worst off than I am if not killed. I think I did the right thing. Besides you would have done the same thing if you had been closer." You sighed.
"Honey the diffrence with that is I have a supersuit, you wear a skin tight, spandex one peice, that I'm not a fan of." He laughted. Bruce had went to go get you some more pain killers to shoot into your IV.
"Tony if I were you I would shut up. Your starting to sound like you might actually love me, might even say your starting to act like a dad." You laughed pulling him into a hug.
"Shut it kid, cant let the others know I have a soft spot for the hacker orphan kid i took in all those years ago now can I." He said kissing the top of your head. "Do you need anything else before the drugs kick in and you pass out again?"
"Yes, can you please bring me my phone charger, laptop, and that really fluffy blanket that you and Pep got for me for Christmas."
"Dont ask to much of me now."
"I wouldnt be asking if you would just let me stay in my room. I hate it down here. I wanna be were the people are." You were starting to get loopy from whatever Bruce had given you.
"Ok little mermaid, get some rest I'll get your stuff." He laughed walking out the door letting you fall into a restless sleep.
You didnt know how long you hade been asleep but you woke up with a groan trying to sit up so you could atleast stretch your back from laying in one spot for to long. You flopped back down dramatically with a sigh. You could sense someine else in the room with you, you always knew when he was around.
"You dont have to hide in the shadows Loki. Your more than welcome to keep me company, you should know that by now." You smiled as the prince walked over and sat in the chair beside you. You could tell he hadnt been sleeping, his hair was fixed as always but his clothes looked worst for wear. He had on a plain black shirt and a pair of gray sweat pants, both of with had wrinkles in them either from tossing and turning or from not being changed in a few days.
"Whats wrong? And dont pull that 'nothing is wrong dear. I'm absolutly fine.' Bullshit. You look horrible." You reatched out to grab his hand. What you and Loki had was diffrent. You didnt just see his as a friend, he didnt just see you as that either though. You had spent many nights sitting up with the silver tounge man many nights laying on the couch watching movies, reading, talking about each of your pasts. He knew more about you than even Tony did.
"I'm still currently trying to wrap my head around why you pushed me out of the way and took the blow when you had a chance of dying from it. You shouldnt have been so thick headed my dear." He took your hand and raised it to his lips kissing the top of your hand.
"Loki." You sighed rolling your head to look back up at the celing. "You would have been hurt alot wordt than I am now, that blast could have killed you."
"I am a god y/n, that blast wouldnt have caused me nearly as much damage as it did you." His voice raised slightly.
"Thats what you think. You think that because you are "immortal" that you can take anything thats thrown at you. That no one really cares about you, that you wouldnt be missed? So why not try to take a blow from a bomb? My god your so stupid sometimes."
"I know I can. Norns y/n I've jumped into space, been brain washed, tried to take over New York, gotten smashed around by the Hulk. I was raised with Thor, he doesnt really go easy on a person. What I'm saying is I dont understand why you, a mear midguardian, would sacrifice themselves for me. If anything would have happened-"
"Nothing did happen though. I'm fine-"
"You have steel sticking from your leg, theres no telling when or even if you'll be able to walk again, and there are highly server burns that will leave scares. You cannot sit there and tell me that you are fine."
"Your right it does suck that I'm jot gonna be able to pull off shorts or a bikini anymore."
"This isnt a joke y/n. You almost died!" He finally yelled.
"And i would do it a thousand times over if that ment saving your damn ass again!" You shouted back.
"Why though?! Why me y/n? I've done horrible things, killed people! My life is meaningless." Tears had sprang to his eyes as he looked away.
"Because I love you God damn it!" You stopped suddenly your jaw dropping at the admission that you hadnt ment for him to hear. His head jerked back to you.
"What?" Shock was all over his face as he stood to walk closer to you. "What did you just say?"
"Because I love you Loki Odinson. Because if you were to die I dont think I would be able to go on living. Because even if you see all the bad things that you've done I can look pass that amd see all the good that you are doing." You reached up placing a hand on his cheek and wiping away a tear.
"I love you too y/n. I have since the day I met you. The girl that didnt care what anyone said when she spent time with me. The girl that can see through every face i put on. I love you so much darling." He placed his hand on your face and leaning down gently kissing your lips.
It felt like you thought it always should you felt electricity run through your body and the two of you connected. It was like getting a breath after not being able to for so long. He pulled away smiling at you.
"What do we tell the others?" He asked laying on with bed with you being easy with your leg. He placed his arm around your middle and pulled you as close as he could.
"I honestly dont care what we tell them. They can figure it out themseves for all I care." You smiled lacing your fingers with his, you yawned placing your head on his shoulder closing your eyes.
"Sleep now my Dove, I will be here when you wake." He felt your gentle breath slow as you fell asleep, the rhythm you of your breath lulling him into his own sleep.
Tony and Bruce walked in the next morning stopping dead at the sight in front of them. You and Loki were still cuddled on the small bed sleeping peacefully.
"Should we wake them up?" Bruce asked looking at Tony.
"Na, let them sleep. Dont want to let them know that we know." Tony saod grabbing Bruce's arm and turning to walk back out of the door.

I think Verdant Wind being added as Silver Snow copy paste dragged down the development. If VW wasn't added, then SS, CF, and AM could have all been more fleshed out (so Edelgard could have been shown killing Thales personally and Dimitri's arc would be gradual instead of him going from batshit crazy to "good boy" instantly). So I think either VW should have not been made or SS was scrapped and Claude could actually get a story about him.
So here's what I'm thinking for Verdant Wind, because honestly if it were up to me it would be a total overhaul, and if put into the context of the game's development might have had to be a DLC or something if they were as pressed for time as it seems.
You pick Claude and the Golden Deer and the first half of the game follows many of the same story beats. (Though one thing I would like to see in White Clouds is more opportunities to interact with the other Houses outside of free time, like maybe a couple missions where two houses are sent to the same place to back each other up. This would then allow for supports to form between characters who might not necessarily be in the same house).
Shit goes down, Edelgard is revealed to be the Flame Emperor, war is declared, Byleth falls into a ravine for 5 years.
You come back and things are in a similar place as they start off in VW. You meet Claude at the monastery, he fills you in on what's been going on, and you decide that action needs to taken. However, that action is not "let's go to war too" but instead more of a diplomatic move. You decide to meet with Edelgard in a parlay at Grondor and she initially accepts, but when you both arrive you discover Dimitri has come with an army of his own. Not believing this isn't some sort of ambush on Claude's part, Edelgard calls the parlay off and initiates the battle of Grondor. However, this time you and Claude decide to stop Dimitri and successfully manage to intervene in the Kingdom's attack. Edelgard and her forces still retreat back to Enbarr but Dimitri is able to be captured and (eventually) reasoned with. (In this version Dimitri hasn't fully lost it like he does in AM. He still has some old friends and supports so he doesn't end up completely feral. He's still deeply distrusting of Edelgard but he at least agrees to help Claude find out a motive before killing her).
The attack on Fort Merceus is basically the same. You succeed in seizing it only for the whole thing to be blown up by the Javelins. Everyone manages to escape, though, including notable people from Edelgard's army. They are just as confused and horrified about the strike as you and your team.
Edelgard isn't up for talking this time around so you are forced to lay siege to Enbarr. This also plays out very similarly to VW, but the end cutscene is different. First, Claude is there. Then, rather than killing Edelgard, you extend a hand out to her, instead. She's hesitant, but Claude manages to convince her that there are no schemes this time. They just want to talk. He mentions the Javelins and how even her own army didn't seem to know what they were. When she blanches at the mention, he realizes that these "allies" of hers aren't exactly the most trustworthy of people.
Edelgard then reluctantly tells you, Claude, and Dimitri about Thales and TWSITD. She's hesitant because this is all sensitive information but she doesn't have much to lose at this point, what with Claude's army basically occupying Enbarr. She reveals what happened to her and her family, why she has two Crests, and why she's been forced to work with Thales. It's Dimitri who approaches first once she's finished, moving quickly and reaching out a hand before anyone can react. Edelgard flinches but instead of going for her neck, his hand comes to rest gently on her shoulder. "Where is that monster?" Dimitri hisses, "So I can tear his head from his body."
Once the three leaders form a tentative alliance, Edelgard reveals where Rhea has been hidden. She tells them all that she tried to keep her from too much harm, but she didn't have much control over the situation. Rhea is released and initially weak from imprisonment. She is also briefed on what happened to Edelgard, and why she started the war in the first place.
With a new target in mind, the alliance of nations storm Shambhala. Rhea has been healed up enough to aid in this battle. You defeat Thales, and he responds by launching all the Javelins he can. Rhea goes on to intercept them as she does in the game, but this time things go differently. Hubert points out that as long as Thales has a hand on the rune activating the Javelins, they'll keep coming. So Edelgard charges him along with Dimitri. The two cut through any mage who tries to stop them, and ultimately Edelgard sees vengeance for herself and her family by killing Thales herself. This halts the Javelins before they become too overwhelming for Rhea, and she returns, a little hurt but ok.
Everyone returns to Garreg Mach for celebrations, and also political discussions because there are a lot of things that now need to be covered. Rhea reveals everything about the Nabateans, Crests, and the Relics. Once she learns the true history of Fodlan, Edelgard makes her case for her own goals. She still believes that society should move away from putting so much importance on Crests, especially now that she knows where they truly came from. But she admits that uniting the land under one banner and disbanding the Church entirely would be taking things too far. Dimitri agrees with Edelgard, despite some protests from Faerghus officials. But he decides that the Hero's Relics have served their purpose and it is time they let the souls of the dead rest. Claude is insistent on Fodlan opening up to other nations, to which the other leaders agree, too. Rhea also decides that it is time she steps away from being Archbishop, but she does not appoint Byleth to the role.
A messenger then interrupts with news that a strange and powerful army is currently sweeping across Fodlan. They connect the dots and realize that it is Nemesis. They all decide to confront him as a group, showing off the might of a Fodlan united under peace. Rhea, fearful of mass casualties, tells Byleth what she did when they were a baby, explaining why they have the Crest of Flames and can wield the Sword of the Creator. There isn't a lot of time to unpack all of that because Nemesis is basically at their door, but Byleth still thanks Rhea for telling them.
They confront Nemesis all as one united front and defeat him. There are many parallels in cutscenes that call back the first cutscene of the game. The difference this time is that Rhea isn't facing Nemesis alone. In the last cutscene after defeating him in gameplay, Claude's arrow fake-out kicks things off, but it also includes Edelgard, Dimitri, and Rhea charging him alongside Byleth. In the end, Nemesis is run-through by the Sword of the Creator, the Sword of Seiros, Aymr, Areadbhar, and a bolt from Failnaught. He goes down, his army dissolves into dust, and victory is finally secured.
After that it's revealed what happens in Fodlan: each nation stays as their own land. Dimitri takes his place as the King of Faerghus and works on moving the kingdom away from knighthood and militaristic practices. He devotes more time and money to revitalizing the land and towns, building better roads between cities, and expanding education and other important services. Edelgard also works on fixing and providing social services like education and healthcare to the Adrestian people. She forms a strong alliance with the other nations, utilizing the fact that Adrestia has so much viable farmland to ensure no one goes hungry. She also grants Brigid its freedom, and works closely with Seteth and Rhea in Church reformations. Claude leaves Fodlan to take his place as King of Almyra, though he promises to visit often. Lorenz takes over the Alliance, and like the other two leaders works diligently to provide a better life for his people. Rhea eventually steps away from her role as Archbishop. She does offer it to Byleth, but you get a choice as to whether or not you want to take it. If you don't Rhea says she understands and that Seteth will take on a temporary position until a human can be found to carry on the legacy. She agrees that an immortal being shouldn't hold that kind of power forever.
There's one final cinematic cutscene in which every character with a Hero's Relic solemnly returns it to the Holy Tomb, with Byleth laying the Sword of the Creator last. They glance up at the Throne with all the characters visible behind them, and they smile.
Now Sothis can finally rest.
---
A couple other fun things that could be included in this route:
Because of the mentioned supports between houses, it is possible to s-support any of the House Leaders, not just Claude in this route
To make things extra fun, every unit could potentially be playable in the final battle
Edelgard and Thales can have special dialogue where she basically tells him to go fuck himself before killing him with the axe he gave her
None of the Black Eagles who stay with Edelgard would actually die in the siege on Enbarr, but would have unique "oh no I've been captured" quotes
The cutscene with Edelgard's surrender could start exactly like it does in SS/VW so if people saw that first, they would at first think she was going to die. This would then make Byleth extending a hand out in peace that much more impactful
Every now and then Dimitri and Edelgard could make a comment about how odd it is to be working with each other, and how they are still surprised neither one of them died after all those years of war, a BIG wink to the camera regarding the other routes where one or both of them don't make it
Claude can bring in Nader and other Almyran reinforcements for the final battle, and as a result could result in unique battle quotes from Rhea and Nader with the two of them commending each other and realizing that tensions need not be so high between their nations
Because different supports can happen between houses, there isn't as much pressure to recruit everyone by the end of White Clouds
There could be different paralogues for characters, along with ones already in the game that might be route specific. Dimitri's paralogue where he takes on Cornelia can be a side event that helps strengthen the Kingdom's army in future battles. Bernadetta/Petra's paralogue would allow for allies from Brigid to join in future battles. Edelgard could get a new paralogue where they have to sweep out the last remnants of various TWS labs and lairs, and it's made clear just how bad it had been for her.
Like, I know this is a lot, and executing it as a playable section of the game would be a lot of work. This is all just hypothetical, of course. This would be what I would recommend for the game, but as I say this just know that I don't expect any of this to actually be made. These are just some ideas for how VW could theoretically be changed.
The game would still need a route for Claude, as he is one of the three main choices at the very start of the game. I don't necessarily think SS should be removed, either, because that choice of "kill or don't kill edelgard" is still an incredibly poignant moment that would be lost if SS was gone. But I do wish VW or SS played out differently or at the very least used different cutscenes. The fact that Edelgard dies the same way twice kind of sucks. (This, on top of Dimitri dying off-screen multiple times and Rhea basically being kneecapped and not useful in 3/4 routes)
But I like Claude's route being a Golden Route. It is the Golden Deer after all.
#look i might have an edelgard bias#but i honestly think there should be a route where none of them have to die#it would be super cathartic especially after playing the other routes#verdant wind fix#fe three houses#headcanons#au ideas#claude#dimitri#rhea#byleth#edelgard#long post

Kakashi is an immortal God, the God of Storm and Thunder, with hair of the purest of silvers and eyes grey just like the heavy stormcloud he can call on a whim
Many think of him as a capricious God, because many are afraid of the storms that he causes, but instead he's not. To be honest, he's curious and attracted to the human's lives, so fragile and short and yet always lived to their fullest
Despite being curious, Kakashi always makes sure to not get attached to any human, because he knows that they'll all eventually die. That's not to say that he's alone, he does have friends in other Deities, like Rin, the Goddess of the Sea and its ever-changing tides, or Obito, the God of the Moon that always gets grumpy whenever one of Kakashi's storms blocks him from view
However, he does care for the human race. He always makes sure that the rivers will not overflow because of him, and that his lightnings will never strike too close to them
One day, he decides to answers the call of someone praying for him. Not many decide to turn to him for things, because the majority of people are afraid of his power
A boy, barely adult, is the one asking for Kakashi's help, for a place where rain rarely strikes, his village on the brink of drought, and that's how Kakashi meets Gai
For him, an immortal Deity, it's not the first time. One way or the other, he somehow always meets a reincarnation of that boy that never seems afraid of the cracking of thunders and the deafening rain, and even if Kakashi always promises himself to not fall into that easy friendship ever again after the boy dies, he always breaks his promise when he meets him again in another life and place
A prince once, a traveler after. A knight. A rogue. A teacher. A fighter. He has met many versions of that same boy, and every time is a new experience, even if the boy never remembers him
For a while now, Kakashi has been thinking to look for a way to make a mortal become immortal...
Ahhh ok there is so much to talk about here <3 <3 <3
Kakashi is the god of thunder and storms. It's his gift that brings rain down on the world. Waters crops, fill lakes, etc. But people don't always see that. Sometimes all they see if the loud bright flashes of light that pierce the sky, because Kakashi thought they were pretty. Sometimes all they care about is the waters that rose too high because of Kakashi's rain, washing out craps, and destroying homes.
Kakashi has come to accept that people don't like him. That he'll never be as loved as Rin who people pray to before a long journey over the sea, or Obito who people weave tales about because of the beauty of the moon. He's ok with that because he knows his gift is useful and beautiful.
Every once in a while, when the rains are light, he gets to see people dancing outside. The odd person who enjoys the water falling from the sky. Who watches out the window as lightning cracks through the sky.
It's those people who make his work worth it, even if they are far and few between. The curiosity in their eyes. the joy on their faces when they see his work. They're the ones he keeps creating new interesting storms for.
the first time he meets his favorite mortal, he's still considered a young god. Getting the hang of his powers under his father's teachings. Crafting his first lighting bolt in his hands.
The mortal is from a small village that has been suffering without rain for months. Their crops are dying and they are starving. Kakashi can't do much for them, but he can make a little rain at this point so he gives it to them. Take's special care of this little village (while not neglecting his other duties) and watches as it slowly starts to flourish. He becomes the deity of the village. The first place to worship him above all else.
he keeps an eye on that village. Always making sure that they have the rain that they need, and specifically checking in on his favorite mortal. Never making himself seen, but keeping an eye out on him to make sure he's ok. That he's thriving.
The first time his favorite mortal dies, he's crushed. He doesn't want to believe it's possible, even though he saw him living a full life with a family that loved him. He hates the feeling in his chest, and his father ends up having to hold him as he cries. The world sees one of its biggest storms that day, and Kakashi's sadness goes down in human history as a destructive force of nature.
When he sees the mortal again, he's more cautious. refuses to let himself get attached and feel that pain again. besides, this time he's a prince. A being a wealth. He'll be fine without Kakashi.
But then one day because of Kakashi's avoidance of that mortal, he finds himself being prayed to again. the waters have dried up in the area, and the threat of starvation is great. They need rain, and no matter how much Kakashi wants to avoid that mortal he can't ignore his pleading. he sends down rain to help them, and when he hears those pray of thanks his heartbreaks. He knows he can't ignore that mortal. They're his favorite. so curious and playful.
This time he visits them, but he's disguised. A god doesn't make themselves known among mortals. He shows up as a simple villager, enjoying their day and playing with some dogs. The Prince is out in the village checking in on things when he sees him.
Kakashi doesn't mean to, but when the Prince walks up to him and starts talking to him he can't help but become friends. Kakashi's still very young (for a god) and he loves the excitement in the other boy's eyes.
He ends up visiting more. Spending his days by his friend's side, and whenever he notices that his friend is particularly sad he makes it rain. A gift, because he loves the way his face lights up when he sees rain falling from the sky.
When the prince is older, Kakashi comes for a visit one day to find him sulking in the corner of his room. When he asks what's wrong, the Prince tells him that he's set to get married.
Kakashi didn't think his heart could break again, but here he is. Another hurt that he doesn't understand.
He leaves that day and never returns. Watches from afar as the prince marries and has a family. Rules his kingdom with kindness. And every day he listens to his prays and turns away every time he hears that hope to see his friend again. Prays that the storm god can return that silver-haired boy he loved so much to his side.
When the King dies, Kakashi's storm is unrelenting. It wipes out a city, and it's only when Obito and Rin come to his side that he's able to calm himself enough to stop.
That's when the fear of the storm god starts to truly set in Mortals' hearts. When Kakashi becomes known as a destructive god, to be feared alongside Shisui, the god of war.
Kakashi removes himself from the mortal world after that. Only doing his job as the god of storms and enjoying his time alone in his home. He pays no attention to the worries of mortals, no matter how curious he is. No matter how much he wants to check in on them and watch them. See that excitement in a mortal's eyes when they see his lightning once again.
But then that voice is back. Soft pleas to a god that few call to anymore.
The pleas of a dying knight.
Kakashi doesn't know this version of his friend for long. He only sees him during his dying moments, but seeing the man lying in a field of bodies wishing for a little rain to say goodbye to the world in, Kakashi can't help but grant him that wish. Rain falls on the knight's face that day, and as he closes his eyes he swears he sees a silver-haired man showing up by his side. Ensuring he's not alone.
That's the day Kakashi decides to learn about mortals again, but this time he doesn't just want to watch them. He wants to find out if there's a way to turn a mortal immortal. To keep them by his side for all eternity, so that he never has to say goodbye again.
Susanoo is the name everyone knows Kakashi by. The god of storms and thunder. They fear his name and the destruction that his storms can bring down on them.
Kakashi doesn't mind though. The mortals leave him alone for the most part because of their fear. This allows him the time he needs to study. To find a way to make a mortal into an immortal.
Obito and Rin are always trying to get him to give up and focus on what he has. There are many gods and goddess who would love to be with Kakashi, so they don't think he should be so focused on a mortal who may never come back anyways.
He refuses to quit though and continues to study regardless. Sharing his time with someone new every once in a while but never getting attached.
And then one day while he's in his library doing some research he hears a familiar voice. This time the voice of a child, scared and alone. Looking in on his old friend, he finds him huddled under his bed praying for some rain to wash away the soldiers in his home. The ones who killed his father.
Kakashi doesn't know the story. He doesn't need to. He sees red and for the first time ever there are mortals who get to experience his wrath first hand. He appears in the boy's home raging with lighting in his hand and slaughters the soldiers. Washes them away with his rains.
He doesn't help the boy. Instead, he sends Rin to him. She was always softer and more capable of soothing people.
She takes him into her home and helps him grow. He's so expressive emotional, and there's nothing more he loves than the rain. Sometimes Rin will ask Kakashi to make it rain just so she can see that bright excited smile.
She finally understands why Kakashi likes this mortal so much, and years later when it's his time to go and Kakashi still doesn't have an answer to save him, he parishes with Rin by his side telling him stories of the storm god determined to turn his favorite mortal into an immortal. To raise him into the rank of God among others, if only just so he can see him every day.
The wait to see him again isn't so long this time, and the next time that Kakashi hears that voice he longs for, he's an adult. A teacher at a new school in his village. He's not asking for rain for crops or drinking water or survival. He wants to prove a point to his students.
He wants them to see the good of storms. The stunning beauty of lightning and the rain falls on their faces but doesn't harm them.
He wants Susanno to bring down a nice storm to prove that his powers are not only destructive.
Kakashi sends in a storm, and while the teacher is outside watching the rain pour down while his students cheer and dance, he swears he sees a silver-haired man at his side. A familiar face that brings him comfort, but for some reason he can't place just how he knows that person.
the next day, while he's out getting some supplies for dinner, he sees that silver-haired man again out in the village. Playing with some of the children and dogs around.
He decides to talk to the man and quickly makes friends with him. He's kind and his smile is hidden but soft. Full of fondness when he speaks to him.
It's the first time in years Kakashi hears that name again. A name he hasn't listened to from his favorite mortal since he saw the Prince he fell so hopelessly in love with. Gai.
It's a name Kakashi will never forget, and one he loves to say.
Kakashi doesn't keep track of the time he spends with Gai. All he knows is that he makes sure there's Rain where it needs to be, but his days are spent by Gai's side. Watching over him, caring for him, loving him.
One day while they're sitting by the village river together, Kakashi can't help but ask Gai when he's going to find someone. Settle down and start a family, just as he always does.
He's surprised when Gai smiles shyly and says he already found someone, and when he pushes for information Gai refuses to tell him anything. The only thing he gets is 'they're too far away for me to reach'
He's alright with that though. He doesn't have to share Gai, and he loves that. He doesn't have to see him marry someone else again, and that makes him happy.
He spends the rest of Gai's life with him, even trying to change his appearance to make it seem like he's older. Then that faithful day comes. The day he knows he has to say goodbye because Gai's dying and he still hasn't found a solution to his pressing problem of making him immortal.
Showing up by Gai's side, he takes his hand and sits with him. An old man with his old friend. But then Gai smiles that beautiful smile and says something Kakashi didn't expect. "Stop hiding your youth from me. I want to see Susanno in his glory before I go."
Kakashi doesn't bother to ask how Gai knows, he simply reverts back to his usual look and allows Gai to see him. To look upon the god he prayed to all those years ago.
the last thing that Gai says to him is 'Don't allow your tears to become the river that washes more lives away. I want the world to know the Susanno that I know. That kindness, and love that comes with your storms."
If Kakashi wasn't determined to find a way to keep Gai by his side before, he definitely is now.
