I'm still sitting with this idea of Kendall as a failed Shakespearean hero. Except he's not a failed hero because he descended into a monster. He's a failed hero because he's nothing. The way he constantly baptized himself so sure that he was destined for this great transformation. That all the pain and disappointment he endured had a purpose. Just for it all to amount to nothing.

Like Roman said, it's all bullshit, and now he has to live with that. He's not the great freedom fighter or the new king. He's just ordinary. Ordinary and free. And now he has to find a way to just live with himself.

Not becoming a monster like Logan should be a triumphant moment for him. But he's so devoid of self at the end of it all that even his freedom is a pyrrhic victory. After all, it's not a freedom he chose but one that he was rejected into.

Obsessed with characters who portray themselves as worse than they are. Who are lying to everyone including themselves about it. People generally assume if someone's lying about themselves they're trying to look better but sometimes they're trying to look worse. They attribute agency to where they had none, add intent to accidents, try to convince everyone that this is something they did instead of something that happened to them.
