Don’t forget the organs. I recommend eating organ meat once a week. Here we had liver, heart, and a couple others that I didn’t even know what they were. But they were delicious and nutritious! 😝 When an animal in the wild hunts and kills another animal for food, they go right for the liver - the most nutritious part of the animal. For some reason we only eat the muscle meats these days... a real waste and not optimal nutrition. #organmeats #liver #nutrition #healthylifestyle #realfood #food #foodie #westonprice #wholefood #wholeanimal #morethanmeat https://www.instagram.com/p/BpQnBUrFB9N/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=7o8leq8ei9ln

|| Sprouted lentils with bone broth and veggies || **NEW BLOG POST ** My family follows a paleo template with an emphasis on nutrient density. Traditionally, paleo meant the exclusion of all grains and legumes. If you follow #chriskresser, #westonprice, #ancestralcooking methods you will find support to the contrary when it comes to properly prepared legumes. I include them in our meal plan once or twice a month. Check out this recipe post for an easy way to safely enjoy this #guthealthy food. #paleo #kidshealth #realfoodkids #nurtientdense #sproutedlentils #empoweringmoms #moms4health #realfoodeveryday #crockpot #lunchbox #kidsfood

Nutrition tip #3: Know your FATS! #GoodFats vs. #BadFats 😱 There are many myths about fats, #1 being that they make you fat! #2 has to be that saturated fats are bad. Saturated fat and cholesterol are essential for our brains, regulating hormones, reproductive health, metabolism, good mood, dealing with stress, nervous system, healthy skin and hair. It's sugar, processed food and lack of movement that makes us fat. But not all fats are created equal. As a rule of thumb, avoid processed, refined, hydrogenated fats and go for virgin, unrefined, cold-pressed, organic oils and organic, pastured animal fats. Good Fats: 👍 Extra virgin olive oil 👍 Coconut oil, virgin 👍 Avocado oil, cold-pressed 👍 Sunflower oil, unrefined 👍 Sesame oil, unrefined 👍 Butter, grass fed 👍 Ghee, grass fed 👍 Cocoa butter, organic edible 👍 Lard, pastured 👍 Tallow, grass-fed 👍 Duck fat 👍 Cod liver oil 👍 Krill oil 👍 Avocados 👍 Nuts 👍 Seeds 👍 Egg yolk, pastured 👍 Full fat dairy, grass fed 👍 Fish, wild-caught Bad Fats: 👎 Olive oil, refined/light 👎 Canola oil 👎 Sunflower oil 👎 Safflower oil 👎 Soybean oil 👎 Corn oil 👎 Peanut oil 👎 Cottonseed oil 👎 Vegetable oil 👎 Margarine 👎 Buttery spreads 👎 Hydrogenated oils 👎 Partially hydrogenated oils 👎 Man-made oils 👎 Non-dairy creamers 👎 Processed food 👎 Fried foods -------------- #healthyfats #healthyfatsforthewin #goodfatsandprotein #westonprice #wapf #wapfkitchen #healthyoil #fatsarefriends #fatsaregoodforyou #fatisgood #saturatedfat #saturatedfatmyth #fatsdontmakeyoufat #nutritionadvice #nutrition #nutritionmatters #nutritiontipoftheday #healthandwellnessjourney #healthandwellnessblogger #wholefoodnutrition #evoo #extravirginoliveoil #pin #healthyfoodlove #fattyacids

What we know of as mayonnaise is not real mayonnaise or even real food. It is more of a science experiment to maintain shelf life. It is made from soybean oil, which contains polyunsaturated fats and phytates, and is known to have estrogenic effects and usually comes from GMO sources. The good news is you can make your own right at home. The real food, old fashion, homemade version is made mainly from olive oil and egg yolks. It will only last a few weeks in your fridge but is delicious and more importantly won't kill you! #eatrealfood #realfood #westonprice #health #healthyfood #healthy #healthyeating #primalpalate

FRANKENBRACES: THEY ARE PREVENTABLE
100% of animals have straight teeth and 70% of Americans "could benefit from having their teeth and jaws realigned with orthodontics.” What is going on here?
Above is a picture of my son. His Orthodontist prescribed these Frankenbraces to prevent an overbite. Seriously? This is ridiculous and the need for orthodontic care is preventable. The problem is that most Americans are unaware, overly socially engineered, or so entrenched in modern medicine they cannot accept the truth.
The truth is that bad teeth (crowded, crooked and decaying) are a clear sign of malnutrition. Surprisingly, this is not new information and has been around since the 1930′s, primarily because of research conducted by a Cleveland dentist named Weston Price.
Curious as to why people living in traditional/primitive cultures had perfectly straight teeth and good overall health, Dr. Price traveled the globe to conduct research.
Here is what Dr. Price discovered:
Time and again that when the “displacing foods of modern commerce” were introduced into a healthy population group that there was a corresponding impact on their teeth. At the time, the list of such man-made items coming into the outposts during Dr. Price’s day was relatively short: refined sugar, white flour, vegetable oils (primarily cottonseed oil), canned fruits and vegetables and canned and condensed milk. When people started to consume foods made with these items, he documented an increase in dental carries or cavities in that generation. The next generation developed a more narrow face, with corresponding dental deformities or crooked teeth.
Modern Diet and Teeth
Traditional Diet and Teeth
In short, you can tell a lot about a person by looking at their teeth.
“When the teeth are straight, it‚ a sign that the rest of the body was properly constructed, with good bone structure, good musculature, keen eyesight and hearing, optimal function of all the organs, optimistic attitude and a well functioning mind. “
This is from a presentation on Traditional Diets by Sally Fallon Morell, President of The Weston A. Price Foundation. Click here to read more.
The bottom line is that good health, including good teeth, are one in the same and achievable. By being properly nourished (completely avoiding or severely limiting refined sugar, white flour, vegetable oils (primarily cottonseed oil), canned fruits and vegetables and canned, condensed milk and processed foods outright), you can fire your doctor, dentist and orthodontist for chronic disease, crooked teeth and cavities.
NOTE: People in institutionalized medicine are good to know if you have an emergency (terminal illness, injury, etc.). But their track record on curbing chronic disease is obviously quite poor and you can avoid them to a large extent simply by eating more good fat, protein and whole, organic plant food, while cutting out the previously mentioned industrial food.
Dr. Price’s research is very well documented, but when I asked my son’s Orthodontist about it, he was completely unaware. He is a really good guy with the best of intentions. However, it is easy to conclude that institutionalized medicine and the pharmaceutical industry were carefully designed not to have your best interest in mind; they were designed to make money on a symptom vs cause based approach to health.
Are heart disease, cancer rates and crooked teeth on the rise or decline with advancements in medicine? Hmm? Interesting, isn’t it.
I fed my kids Similac, mac and cheese, candy, cereals and they all need braces. It is pretty clear that the corporate, industrialized food we have been programmed to think is okay, indeed is not okay. I changed my diet and am now mostly Paleo and organic (I also quit alcohol). So I have a chance to educate my kids and take corrective action for future generations.
We need doctors and their expertise, but there is a lot that you can do on your own to be healthy. Take matters into your own hands by eating a traditional diet. What you spend now on grass-fed beef and organic food will likely be less compared to what you might pay for braces and disease... Think about it.
