Some Propaganda for my "Adrien has 2 amoks because he is his own dead twin sister" theory

I've mentioned this theory many times before, and have written a proper post about it (linked here) BUT! Season 6 has started to officially air and while we're only 4 (very out of order) episodes deep, I am practically vibrating with the implications.

In summary, my theory is that Emilie created 2 sentikid embryos, and that's why she succumbed to her illness long before Colt did. There's a tragic phenomenon that can happen with a multiple pregnancy called Vanishing Twin. It's where one of the twin embryos miscarries. The twin is usually reabsorbed by the mother or is passed, but the surviving twin embryo can also absorb their twin. This would cause a second phenomenon called Human Chimerism. Adrien's twin sister was created with a separate amok, so Adrien would have 2 amoks, and 2 sets of DNA.

Now, onto season 6's possible foreshadowing below the cut...

First of all, we need to let the cat out of the bag (ha), and talk about the incredible post @bklily wrote linked here. In Werepapas, Adrien is trapped in a trophy (because he is a prize on a pedestal to be won... but that 's not the point of this post), and because the akuma flew into the Twin Rings, Ladybug had to break them. (The fact that they could possibly be fake rings is irrelevant with this point).

While in the trophy, and the rings broken, Adrien, as Schrodinger's Cat, was simultaneously dead and alive. @bklily put it best. "The cat is always dead and alive." Adrien's dead twin sister would be woven into his DNA, and the boy is always going to be dead and alive, no matter what.

Another thing I think is important to point out is that the Twin Rings were emphasized to be TWIN rings multiple times in the episode, in a way that hasn't been done before. According to family tradition, the rings represent a marriage between England and France, and Gabi Grassette/Gabriel Agreste was French, while Emilie Graham de Vanily was English. Of course their twins would be a "marriage" between England and France. The Graham de Vanily twin rings are two rings that become one...

Even an episode that doesn't have focus on Adrien such as Daddycop has implications.

While he is in the process of being akumatized by Chrysalis, Roger is lovingly cradling an INVISIBLE baby girl. It's his precious Sabrina, whom he loves more than anything. My heart skipped a beat when Roger called the way Sabrina was treated a "'MISCARRIAGE' of justice!" Because in order for Adrien to be his own twin sister, there has to be a miscarriage, and Emilie would have had to hold her darling baby boy, while her daughter was invisible.

Adrien, both alive and dead... with two sets of DNA, both male and female. Twins that become one... Which brings me to my next point: Mylene's Progress Pride pin.

I mentioned it in a previous post (linked here), but this pin includes the almost always forgotten/ignored/left out intersex symbol (a purple RING on a yellow background). It's a tiny detail that has major ramifications for my theory.

You see, Adrien has 2 amoks, and if my theory is correct, 2 sets of DNA, both male and female. This is an intersex condition that is rare, but DOES exit in real life. While Adrien was created by magic, he would have a condition that does occur in the real world. Intersex characters are exceedingly rare in fiction, and it's even rarer that they have an intersex condition that actually happens in real life.

As for the reasons that I think Adrien's twin was created to be female, I feel like it's pretty self explanatory, but I will explain my reasoning.

There is a definitive femininity to Adrien. From the fact that not so insignificant portion of the fandom thinks he could be a trans girl or nonbinary, to the show sticking him in a dress and called him a princess, to the way he's been conditioned by his parents in a way that is very relatable to girls. Too emotional, too innocent and needs to be sheltered, valued for his beauty and not for his considerable smarts, and locked in a "Princess tower" for most of his childhood.

The Portuguese dub even has Marinette's grandma Gina call Adrien "handsome as a princess" in Weredads. While the jury is still out that the English and French dubs will keep that line, I am willing to bet that they will.

I would also like to point out that within the Resistance, Adrien is Comrade Mayo, while Ivan is Comrade Aioli. Both are very similar sauces that are often confused with one another. We know from the Miraculous Secrets card game that Ivan has a baby sister whom he adores. He loves her so much, that his Alliance Ring shows a little baby girl during the finale when he and everyone else were suffering from nightmares. Ivan's particular nightmare seems to be one of abandonment, which is also one of Adrien's big fears other than being trapped.

Kind of a contradiction there, with Adrien being afraid of abandonment but also of being trapped.... ah anyway.

In an interview, Astruc and the other writers said that Ivan has issues, and we'll find out about them in future seasons. I'm willing to put money that his abandonment issues stem from something with his baby sister. How can a baby girl abandon a teenage brother? I'm not sure what the writers would intend for Ivan and his baby sister, but I do know the angle they could potentially put for Adrien's abandonment issues and his possible dead twin sister.

I'm sure there are other reasons that I've missed so feel free to add them! I'm so excited for season 6, and possible future posts expanding on this theory propaganda!

Love Square Screen Time Records

Hey, everyone! As some of you may know, I've recently completed calculating the exact screen time for all the love square ships for all the episodes we have up until now, including the Miraculous World Specials. Now I've decided to list all the noteworthy moments in love square screen time based on the data I've collected.

We're going to start with doing some general overall records, then we're going to see the noteworthy moments of love square screen time for all the love square ships individually. so let's begin, shall we?

General Records

First episode to include all of the love square ships: Cat Blanc

Of course it's "Cat Blanc' of all episodes to not only be the first episode to have screen time for all the love square ships, but also the only episode by far to have screen time for all the love square ships. It's already one of the greatest episodes of all time, so why not add some screen time for all the love square ships with it too?

We have the Adrienette dating montage, the battle between Ladybug and Cat Blanc, Adrien saving Marinette from akumatization as Cat Noir and revealing his identity along with it too, and finally Ladybug starting this mess by coming in to deliver her gift to Adrien, allowing him to catch her and piece together her identity.

2. First episode to include none of the love square ships: Representation

Closely followed by "Conformation" as the second. Who does this episode have to thank for to having this record? Gabriel, of course. Since Gabriel sent his his son to London specifically so that he can't spend time with his girlfriend anymore, this was the result. Adrien and Marinette weren't able to get together again until the end of "Re-Creation".

3. Love square ship with the most screen time in an episode: Adrienette in "Oblivio"

Not that surprising since a lot of the episode was spent in Adrien and Marinette running from the titular villain and re-learning who they are. It was only towards the end that they were able to figure out how to activate their powers again, thanks to Master Fu, giving Adrienette a total of 9 min 3 sec of screen time in this episode.

Adrienette Records

Episode with the most Adrienette screen time: Oblivio

Since this episode already has the title for ship with most screen time in an episode, it will obviously also have the the title for episode with with the most Adrienette screen time. No need to repeat what I said earlier.

2. Season with most Adrienette screen time: season 5

No surprise here. We don't need to know the exact screen time to know that this season was full of Adrienette. First third of the season had a few patches of Adrienette here and there but from "Transmission" onwards we had a continuous stream of Adrienette content up until "Revolution" where Gabriel separated them by sending Adrien to London, after which the only got back together at the end of "Re-Creation".

Even though Adrienette didn't dominate this season like Ladynoir does every season, it still had over a third of the love square screen time and had 45 min 57 sec of screen time this season which a lot more than it usually has.

3. Season with least Adrienette screen time: season 4

Just like the other love square ships this season, Adrienette took a significant hit, having been reduced to having 12 min 38 sec of screen time as opposed to its usual half hour of screen time per season (roughly). It makes sense though considering that this season is more focused on the plot than past seasons have been and this is supposedly the season of Ladynoir.

4. Miraculous World Special with most Adrienette: New York Special

Makes sense for this to be the special with the most Adrienette as this special had the plotline of Marinette trying to be nothing more than a friend to Adrien, giving us a total of 7 min 40 sec of Adrienette in this 1-hour special, even surpassing Ladynoir in screen time.

5. First episode Adrienette surpasses Ladynoir in screen time: Gamer

Yes, this is an actual category since it's usually the norm for Ladynoir to have the most screen time in an episode. Not only was this the first episode where Adrienette surpasses Ladynoir in screen time, it's the first episode where any ship surpasses Ladynoir in screen time, and also the sole episode in season 1 where an episode surpasses Ladynoir in screen time. Adrien and Marinette being partners in the Mecha Strike tournament really did well to increase the Adrienette screen time.

Ladynoir Records

Episode with most Ladynoir screen time: Mayura (Heroes' Day- part 2)

Kind of an interesting episode to have as the one with the most Ladynoir but OK. This part had the secondary heroes up until now put out of commission by scarlet akumatization in the first few minutes of the episode, leaving Ladynoir to fend for themselves, them against the world just as always.

2. Season with most Ladynoir screen time: season 1

Of course it's season 1 with the most Ladynoir screen time, with this being the show being at its most formulaic at this time, leading the focus to be more on the usual battle with the akumatized villains than with progressing the plot, gives us a total of 1 hr 53 min 26 sec of screen time that season which is nearly 2 hours.

3. Season with the least Ladynoir screen time: season 4

Ironically, the supposed Ladynoir season had the least Ladynoir screen time out of all the seasons. Despite it having the most screen time in terms of percentage, it still had the least screen time in terms of actual value, having a total of 59 min 24 sec of screen time this season, which isn't even an entire hour, although it's pretty close. But since this season focused more on the plot progression than any season we had before, it makes sense.

4. Miraculous World Special with most Ladynoir screen time: New York

Similar to Adrienette, Ladynoir also gets the most screen time it's ever gotten in the New York Special, and just like Adrienette it makes sense given that this special had a lot of focus on their relationship and how Cat Noir broke Ladybug's trust by coming to New York, giving us a total of 6 min 29 sec of screen time.

Maricat Records

Episode with most Maricat screen time: Glaciator 2

Out of all the designated Maricat episodes, this was the one that got the most screen time for Maricat having a total of 8 min 14 sec of screen time. Makes sense, given that the whole episode was them practicing Marinette being able to confess her love to Adrien and going on a "date". "Elation" would be a worthy contender but as it turns out it didn't have nearly as much screen time as we thought though it was still a fair five and a half minutes.

2. Season with most Maricat screen time: Season 4

While season 4 had the least amount of screen time for Adrienette and Ladynoir, it had the most amount of screen time for Maricat, although it was only featured in 3 episodes of season 4 and most of the screen time was concentrated in "Sentibubbler" and "Glaciator 2". This gives it a total of 9 min 44 sec.

3. Season with least Maricat screen time: Season 2

Season 2 had Maricat take a huge hit due to which it became the ship with least screen time in a season for the first time. It only really got to shine a little bit in the designated Maricat episode of the season "Glaciator" and other than that had small moments in "Befana" and "Anansi", leaving it with 4 min 7 sec of screen time in the entire season.

4. First episode Maricat surpasses Ladynoir in screen time: Weredad

After 2 seasons of Ladynoir taking away their designated episode of the season, Maricat was finally able to surpass Ladynoir in screen time with 3 min 57 sec of screen time. Considering that the episode revolves around Marinette getting herself into the mess of Cat Noir thinking she has feelings for him and the awkward date between them set up by Tom and Ladynoir was only present at the beginning and towards the end of the episode, you can see why.

Ladrien Records

Episode with most Ladrien screen time: Desparada

The episode where Ladybug entrusts Adrien with the Snake Miraculous gets the title of the episode with the most Ladrien screen time. It's obvious why since a good portion of the episode is Adrien as Aspik trying to woo Ladybug and failing terribly because he's focused more on that rather than defeating the titular villain.

2. Season with most Ladrien screen time: Season 2

After only having most of its screen time concentrated towards the end of the season aside from "The Bubbler" and "The Mime" in season 1, Ladrien was finally able to get its moment to shine in season 2 with there being several episodes focuses extensively on Ladrien, some even surpassing Ladynoir in screen time, giving it a total of 8 min 46 sec in the entire season which is the most it will ever get as from here on out it, its screen time decreases with ever season.

3. Season with least Ladrien screen time: season 5

Ladrien already usually gets the short end of the stick in Miraculous due to it's lack of a requirement for any development, so naturally, season 5 ends up being the season with the least Ladrien screen time, with us only getting Ladrien in "Passion" with detransformed Adrien holding a Venomed Ladybug and the small scene in "Deflagration" of Adrien handing Ladybug's Miraculous to her. Hopefully, future seasons will give us more Ladrien, but I doubt it.

4. First episode Ladrien surpasses Ladynoir in screen time: Riposte

Since season 2 was the first time Ladrien ever got to shine, it also contains the episode where Ladrien surpasses Ladynoir in screen time, that being the first Ladrien-focused episode of the season, "Riposte" involving the titular villain going after Adrien, hence Ladybug having to protect him and Adrien being unable to go off somewhere to transform.

This Prompt kind of got away from me, and was A LOT longer than I had intended, but I'm not mad about it, also it's kinda crack, just as a warning lol

If You Want Her Back Gotta Let Her Shine

She yanked the brush through her loose midnight tresses, perhaps a little too harshly, as the previous week’s sting rose to the surface.

Marinette winced at the lingering pain in her scalp and met her mirrored gaze with an indignant determination.

The plan was a go. 

Smoothing out imaginary wrinkles on the flared skirt of her scarlet dress, Marinette took a step back to survey her full appearance in the mirror. 

Satisfied with what she saw, Marinette turned on her heel to the exit of her room. It was time to make that cat pay.

It had been barely a week since that fateful day, since a series of misunderstandings had led her to become humiliated and rejected, and in front of her parents, no less. Yes, Chat Noir needed to pay. For you know, being an idiot.

A voice that sounded something like reason, kept reminding her that she wasn’t in love with Chat Noir, that Adrien had her heart. That same voice kept telling and reminding her that Chat Noir had rejected her for her.

But Marinette tuned the voice out. The bitter twist of hurt at his words, I’m sure you’re a great girl, panged her heart and vexed her thoughts far too much for any rationality.

She did not stop to consider, did not pause to think why this bothered her so much, why Chat Noir rejecting her, for someone else still herself was so upsetting.

She merely, calmly (too calmly, according to Tikki) began the process of changing from her usual image and clothing, into something more… striking.

Cataloging in her mind the locations and times of Chat Noir’s usual patrol route, Marinette weaved her way around her parents and out of the bakery, with barely a goodbye.

She did not stop her brisk pace, until she saw him, sitting atop a lamppost just a few blocks from her home, his gaze trained in the opposite direction from her.

She took a moment to collect herself, and then walked down the street in as graceful a walk as was possible for her.

She turned her face in the opposite direction, her mannerisms measured in faux aloofness and unawareness of him. 

In that moment, she was grateful for the light of golden hour, and the stolen gentle breeze in the air, that ruffled her loose hair and made her appearance all the more dramatic. 

“Marinette?”

She had been spotted. 

She tucked away her furtive smirk, and turned herself slowly towards Chat Noir, giving him plenty of time to take in her pretty red dress and carefully applied makeup, and giving him plenty of time to see what he was missing.

“Oh Chat Noir,” She said smoothly. “didn’t see you there.”

Chat Noir leapt down from his post, landing right next to her. 

“Wow, you look nice, not that you don’t always look nice, it’s just um- wow.” Chat Noir shrugged his shoulders and scratched the back of his neck.

In spite of herself, Marinette felt her cheeks getting warm. NO! This was not part of the plan stupid catboy was not meant to be charmingly smitten, he was supposed to feel regret!

Clearing her throat to steel herself, Marinette fluttered her eyelashes and twirled a piece of her hair coyly.

“Thanks, you’re sweet.”

“Did you make this dress?”

Marinette self-consciously bit her lip and nodded her head.

“Wow, you are so talented, this looks incredible!” 

The warmth in her cheeks blazed in an undoubtable scarlet. A strange, fluttery feeling began to unfurl in her chest.

“Thanks.” She said in a tone breathier than she had ever intended.

Distant, cold! Marinette! You sound like a lovesick Victorian heroine! She berated herself harshly. 

“You know..” Chat Noir drawled bashfully, his hand returning to the back of his neck. “We haven’t really hung out recently. I should be done with patrol soon, do you maybe want to do something together? As friends of course.”

His hastily included addendum, reminded her why she was here and shook her effectively out of her thoughts.

“Afraid not Chat Noir. I’m meeting someone soon, so I won’t be available to meet up.” 

She made sure to keep her voice light and her plans vague.

“Well… tomorrow then?”

“Hmmm…” She hummed in mock-thoughtfulness. “I guess I’ll have to see, I’m pretty busy right now, but maybe sometime soon?” She patted his shoulder playfully and saw his eyes track the movement. 

“Oh um, alright then, sounds like a plan.” Chat Noir said sweetly.

This time, Marinette did not let his tone or words curb her plan.

“See you around, Chat Noir.” She said as she walked off.

Ha! That’ll show him that little ol’ Marinette has moved on and is a brand new person who doesn’t need him to love her!

Still, she couldn’t stop the victory-marring regret from flooding in, after all she really would have liked to hang out with him.

I saw a post before(lost track of it), that mentioned some cute stuff about Adrienette now that we're actually here, and it got me thinking... I wrote a scenario in a fanfic that Adrien, as a loving boyfriend/husband, gifted Marinette random plushies over the years—most of them black cats causeofcoursetheyare. So I imagine the pre-reveal, Adrienette cuteness as follows:

Adrien adores her and just wants to gift her with plushies cause she looked in one's general direction once and said it was cute.

They're all black cats because he's also a goofy butthead and he knows Marinette super-liked his own alter-ego enough to kiss him.

And o'course, Marinette being the smart cookie that she is, eventually catches on and becomes suspicious.

Marinette: *staring down her pile of black cats* Adrien, is there something you're trying to tell me?

Adrien: Oh, I probably did not think this one through.

Marinette: Are you—

Adrien: Oh geeze—

Marinette: In love with Chat Noir?

Adrien: ...

Adrien: Yup, you got me.

Marinette: I'm only forgiving you because I understand how wonderful and lovable Chat Noir is.

Adrien: Marry me.

Fic Summary: Adrien meant to break up with Marinette at brunch. He really did. But somehow, he just made it worse. Now all of Paris thinks she and Chat Noir are dating, and they're both stuck in a relationship neither of them wanted.

1. Sweethearts’ Vol-au-Vent for Two

Adrien’s plan was this:

Transform.

Go to the Dupain-Chengs’ house for brunch at 11h.

Greet Marinette (with cheek kisses, which they didn’t normally do, but this was kinda-sorta an almost-date, right? So wasn’t that a kinda-sorta-almost-date thing to do?).

Give her the pink rose from his lunch tray (as a friend).

Do NOT eat anything.

Tell Marinette he didn’t love her (hopefully in a way that wouldn’t get her akumatized).

Leave by 11h10.

His first mistake was step 5. He shouldn’t have eaten anything, because eating meant lingering, and lingering meant getting off schedule, and what right did he have to eat their food anyway when he was about to break their daughter’s heart?

It looked so good, though.

So Adrien popped one tiny pastry into his mouth. One little bite couldn’t hurt, right?

Wrong.
