Characters/Pairings: Naga!Luka Couffaine, Witch!Marinette Dupain-Cheng; Luka Couffaine/Marinette Dupain-Cheng

Rating: Teen and Up

Summary: Luka wasn’t used to seeing humans this far into his forest. He’s not used to seeing witches this far into his forest. He’s not sure he’s going to like it. (Marinette, on the other hand, is just fascinated by the fact that a snake is the ward of her new home. That was definitely something her superiors could have mentioned before sending her here.)

Author’s Notes/Warnings: Ages back, Bloody had this idea about Naga!Lu being fascinated with Marinette’s human feet. It made me think of the meeting scene in Disney’s Tarzan, and then I got all twisted up in first meetings and feet and could not for the life of me make any progress with the fic. I went through so many drafts with this, and then I realized if I focused more on the meeting and not on the feet the fic actually came together quite nicely? So. Here’s the fic formerly known as “Human Feet”? Now with 95% more meet cute and 75% less feet jokes. 😂

“Spring is for the Day They Met”

It was a glorious spring day, but then again, all of them had been glorious so far. After an entire winter of not-so-nice days cooped up in his cave, hiding away from the cold and the snow, the sun shining high above him through the clearing in the leafy canopy of the trees was a welcome sight. Even the breeze, still cool in the early spring, was a much welcome change from the bitter chill of winter. The ice had completely thawed from the river below him, and his rocks were once again prime basking space.

Even better, spring was still early, and most of the Forest’s inhabitants had yet to realize he was once again up and about. If they had had any need for him, those needs had not yet been serious enough to bother seeking him out. He was free to sprawl out on his rocks, soaking up as much sun as he could in an attempt to recover from a too-long winter.

Yes, spring had once again come to the Forest, and life was…

A resounding slap echoed across the water, followed by the raucous bark of heckling laughter. More laughter bubbled up in chittering cackles as water splashed and rough, croaky voices squabbled. He dropped his head back onto the rock, hanging it upside-down to stare across the river to the opposite bank.

It would be perfect, he couldn’t help but think, if those damned kappas would relocate.

Look I know he lost some skin and some limbs and some fat but I am in a bit of doubt that Jimmy was carrying Curly around so easily.

Like he’s clearly too weak to take Swansea in a fight and he’s an old guy who’s been drinking mouthwash for months AND just got roofied. Not to mention he was very much starving by that point in the game. You can argue Curly was too and his condition just added on to the weight loss but he was just carrying him around like he was a handful of grapes.

In my minds eyes Jimmy can like lift like maybe 50 pounds with a little bit of effort. Like he’s got no muscles he’s average. Curly’s still big after he crash like that man ain’t getting picked up by that twig.

#jimmy needs to use the arm cruncher like part of his disdain for curly is this one’s just more capable #so I think he likes carrying him but it’s not easy he likely hit him on walls or almost dropped him a few times #he thinks it’s funny that curly would squirm or groan when it happened cause he still has to #depend on Jimmy’s support no matter how many times he lets him fall and it’s thrilling to him and agonizing to Curly #because he’s realizing all this time Jimmy has just been waiting for this exact moment to be in that position #well not this scenario but he wants that dependence from someone like it’s why he went after Anya #she’s likely the one he saw as the easiest being the only woman and depicted as rather petite and withdrawn not in the literal sense #just she’s not flashy with her self her personality is somewhat contained so unless you know her you wouldn’t see the change which is again #something abusers look for in forming relationships with people and taking advantage #mouthwashing #jimmy mouthwashing #curly mouthwashing

#personal #i had to make the tough decision to drop out of school last week #i didn't exactly want it if i'm being completely honest here #but certain stuff was preventing me from getting further so i knew the teachers are gonna ask me to quit over at our teams meeting #i instantly contacted my nurse about my situation. and she got me a doctor's appointment which was yesterday #where i kind of broke down a little. not because she didn't grant me the sick leave i thought i was going to get #after feeling down and sleeping terribly for weeks #but because she actually *got me*. like. she actually listened to me and figured out some stuff and told me that #what i'm going through and what i've been going through for years would make anyone depressed #so i couldn't help but cry a little because yeah. i'm so tired of never being enough no matter how hard i try #because my brain's wired a certain way and it makes me slow and kinda clumsy and inattentive at times #which. you might guess is not ideal at today's work environment. or studying-wise even #so instead of granting me sick leave (she did say we can change that at anytime though) she told me to wait for that phone call #from the unemployment office. which i should be getting tomorrow. or well. later today #and talk to them about this. to see if they can offer some solutions. or if we can figure something out #'cause i'm getting closer to my 40s and not getting anywhere and it's wearing me out and tiring me out #because i clearly can't help myself or change my ways on my own #i managed to get some work last week though. at the local youth house. one shift though but money still #but i haven't been getting those offers a lot during the past few months so it's not enough to support me obviously #so i definitely need something else. and i hope i can get help. that someone could help me #i should finally get tested for adhd next month too. i don't know if i even have it or if it's gonna change anything but #at least i'd know #anyway i needed to get this off my chest. cause i'm kinda crying a little bit even now just thinking about this whole thing #sorry

#looks at a druid a fighter and a bard fighter. okay cleric time.#i LOVE playing cleric turns out.#though abjuration wizard is still super super fun its a different flavor of support #it's not buffs it's 'i am going to transfer literally all that damage to myself and war caster style succeed my witchbolt concentration'#doing insane amounts of damage while taking damage (+ with temp hp and then just a lot of hp. im taking the tough feat as soon as possible)#aabria iyengar was right these abjuration wizards are craaaazy. but war domain clerics also fuck hard #my abj wiz is very much an experiment in 'what if someone who is not at all suited to this life tries to adapt as well as she can'#the point is that she isn't a cleric. do u understand. she's not a cleric and that's the point it's the. hbbbgbfhb. she's out here #functioning as a combat medic on some aasimar features + healing kits/potions + arcane ward. Look At Me #i also really enjoy playing nonreligious characters in these worlds where deities 100% exist not in a 'fuck the gods' way but in #a way somewhere between 'i'm all i need' and 'i called and no one answered' and 'may or may not go on an insane power hungry spiral and #try to get a touch of godhood' which is in part very due to my own agnostic and people-loving heart and 'haha what if i icarused this girl'#a resentful caution towards gods an immense respect towards religious companions and 'when your god isn't here to help. i will be'#anyway REACTION arcane ward you don't take damage im fine. next turn reaction shield ward's back up. the thing is.#she will drive her hp down. the ward isn't much like it goes past that temp hp. it's 14hp that shit goes down and carries to her hp #but it never drops. any leveled spell puts hp back into the ward. a 1st lvl shield puts it at 2hp and she can use it again #she is not suited for these conditions but my god it is fun to watch. i care her.#i explained that subclass feature to a player that's not in that campaign and said. like. yeah she can take damage. when her ward drops to #0 it carries to her. any leveled abj spell puts it back up. and she can use it and drive her hp down again.#do u understand what i am explaining to u! do you get it! she is and has always been a punching bag!#she was a very valuable asset to the army and the group she was drafted! into. because when she's there. people just don't fucking go down #aside from her. aside from her. #like arrfgggdiakaktmcksmsama this was literally all for me like they knew what they were doing #i love character design i love pokemon i love miku. and then you put ALL THREE TOGETHER....#i will explain some of my choices here #poison miku is just too good but also i am a big sucker for freaky scientists with constant “worry” eyebrows #her design is just so out there and crazy (this is about the shoes. some understand the greatness of the shoes and some dont. and thats ok.)#every other miku in peak i think establishes their theme exeptionally well especially ghost bug and fighting #for ghost i already love spooky and gloomy looking characters and that miku delivers tenfold (of course shes designed by the GOAT take)#esp with the mix of ghostly and electronic/digital regarding the glitchy parts n the 01 hologram #she looks like shell invade my computer and give it a virus if i dont send the chainmail about her tragic file corruption to 10 friends #(in the best way possible)#for bug miku the big dress is a huge plus but also i just think shes adorable nuff said #for fighting - i love a delinquent character and she fits that really well. the half coat thing is a big highlight for me #also the leek theme is absolutely iconic #for the ones i didnt like as much - i honestly just think the koraidon one is a leeeeetle bit boring #dont get me wrong. it has really cool aspects like the hair and the koraidon like cape but idk #it feels like theres a lot going on but not that much at the same time? its still a really nice design tho esp the hair color #for the ones in yellow tier - i just dont like the color palletes very much . theyre still really nice designs esp fire miku #but all in all these are genuinely all amazing designs and i dont want to be too critical or mean to any of them esp seeing im not a pro #but this was really fun to see unfold!!! cant wait until the songs start dropping #in the topic of miku as well - hey muse dash where's my miku on the switch version....#please dont make us wait too long 🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿

i do not like when people say kaede would be a static protagonist if she survived the game like as if she wouldnt have 5 whole additional chapters for shit to be thrown her way and see how she'd change and adapt... plenty of writers have pulled off this idea with flying colors so idk why ppl say "ok but IN CANON kaede would just vote hope/despair in the end!" like LITERALLY WE DONT KNOW THATTT THOUGHHHH . shuichi was very different in ch1 compared to ch6 why is kaede exempt from this logic...............

#like mainly later seasons him #early seasons him is fine #but like i guess plot wise you could argue he becomes more iffy because you know the competition will be soon #and justin does want to become the family wizard #as for some reason this show still never fully tackled the fucked up shit of the idea that wizard siblings have to grow up studying magic #only for one or two or whatever number siblings to lose it to one sibling in a competition #like stevie was the closest we got to that #but like it still dont make it less bad with how justin was #like the worst example i can name is him literally refusing to save alex whose his sister btw and shes always dropped shit to save him #because he wants to project onto her that she purposely fucked up his chances to get back into the competition via #pushing the students to take the test only for them to be failed because bad guy being bad guy in reality #and basically blames her for the failure and such as a result and acts like its all an act when she is mad on the students behalf and shit #and his students have to drag him kicking and screaming just to save her from the bad guy's shit #and there's also the competition itself where harper and zeke get grabbed by a creature during it #but alex has to convince her brothers to save the two and thats just cold already on justins end with zeke #but cause they took too long they all lose the competition and magic #and both brothers especially justin proceed to treat alex like shit even during work hours meaning #fucking over family business just to get at alex #and when the dad ultimately almost sells the place justin STILL blames alex #like she was the only one working fully max was being max and justin was being a little bitch to her #aka the infamous refusing to make her orders only max's and when he does he throws the sandwich at her #and cause she was holding drinks at the time and didnt see it coming the drinks went on a customer #and also throwing table trash into her already full bin shes carrying around while cleaning tables #and therefore messing it up for her like #and alex's logo...well from sounds of shit thats just justin again being a hateful bitch to his sister with zero consquiences #even one commenter pointing how he sadistically smiled while telling her all her friends hate her #like dear god if the show was doing this to make everyone root for alex its working i hate later season justin #gonna be interesting if hes matured or not as an adult
