TFR DESIGN POSTING: THE BIG BOSSES!!!

Optimus Prime and Elita-1 are many things. Co-commanders, conjunx enduras, the very proud caretakers of Bumblebee, and forces to be reckoned with. Having met as co-workers at the docks of Iacon, when they were known as Orion Pax and AR-1/Ariel, the last place they saw themselves ending up was leading the Autobot Resistance, but those are the cards they've been dealt and they'll do their best to play them.

Optimus is the youngest bot to have ever been made Prime, and did so without any complete training, during the Fall of Crystal City led by Megatron and his followers, which is the incident that sparked the Autobot-Decepticon war. Optimus has come into his own as a natural leader. Underneath his stoic exterior is a kind, selfless, somewhat awkward bot who wants nothing more than to protect his fellow Autobots and ensure that they live peaceful lives, even if he loses that possibility for himself.

Elita is a former miner, who was initially tricked by the upper-class Megatron into joining the Decepticons by lying about his intentions of abolishing mining practices all over Cybertron. Out of fear of what he would do to her if she tried to leave, she stayed with the 'Cons as his terrifying second-in-command for the first half of the war, until she finally escaped and reunited with her long lost friend and love, Optimus. She's much more bold and headstrong than her partner, and balances out his social ineptitude by being more of an open jokester. Above all, she strives to make up for her past mistakes and hopes to end the war that she helped to start.

Although the Autobots all crashed on Earth in the year 1899 and were scattered all across North America, Optimus and Elita actually shared an escape pod and did not emerge from stasis until the 1970s, finding themselves near the island of Montréal in Québec, Canada, where they picked up many strange human concepts such as the French language. Unbeknownst to them, this was the hometown of their future human comrade, Sadie Monroe, the girl who would aid in reuniting their scattered team and ultimately proving to be one of their greatest allies.

i think some get angry at transmascs for discussing our oppressiin because they view invisibility as a privilege rather than a way in which we are oppressed

when their view of invisibility as a privilege is challenged, they lash out and say that we want to be oppressed soooo bad and that we need to shut up

and of course, if we do shut up then nothing changes. we remain invisible and nobody sees us. or talks about us. or cares about us

Forever thinking about the period of time before Stan fully regained his memory. Especially from Ford's perspective. Because, like, that's the brother he has just now almost lost and he is so immensely grateful that he hasn't. But here he is, watching their grand niblings and Soos tell Stan all kinds of stories about the time they spent together. And Ford realises that, aside from their childhood, he doesn't have anything to add. Because of course he mattered to Stan SO much. He knows that now, even if he failed to recognise that before. But his role in Stan's life has been mostly defined by his absence and the pain that it caused. So here Ford is, absolutely refusing to leave his brother's side but also being... well, not unable, just not ready to help. Because helping would mean having to tell Stan that they had been apart for most of their lives for reasons that were partly Ford's fault. And of course this won't last long and Ford will eventually tell his brother what happened between them and they will get over it. But for a short but painful while Ford sees a Stan who only remembers Soos and the kids, a Stan who is for once genuinely carefree and happy and wonders, whether maybe it's better this way, maybe that's his punishment for all of his wrongdoings. That maybe he deserves to have one of the very few people who have ever mattered to him remember everyone but him. That maybe Stan deserves to have his family back, but Ford does not.

consider helping a homeless + disabled trans lesbian seek shelter this winter

my friend harmony was kicked out of her abusive + transphobic parents' house last month for being trans . she was able to stay with someone for a week before she was once again , kicked out for being trans . the person who let her stay has a partner who was extremely transphobic towards harmony and forced her to leave . she is once again without a place to sleep .

she has a few job interviews set up but needs help until she has a source of income . per her request , she has asked for money for hotel rooms , food , gas , and at the very least , a good winter jacket and a blanket if she has to sleep in her car . if you can , consider helping her by sending a few dollars her way , i'm extremely worried about her and it's been dropping to below freezing temperatures .

you ever think about how Misa's lack of intelligence and the way she lets her emotions impulsively dictate her actions was kinda constantly made the butt of the joke in DN, yet she genuinely outlived all the dudes and dudettes who were always scoffing at her stupidity. Somehow this is even better to me in that she wasn't even trying to outlive Light and didn't have any particularly high regard for her own life, so it's not due to her secretly being the best strategist of them all intentionally either... Regardless of the author's intent behind it I like that it pokes some holes in their constant smug assertions that you must have the very highest IQ to be the last guy standing in the murder notebook game

Something I’ve been thinking about lately is that small moment in “Air Turtle” where immediately after the Daves lose yet another game, Leo says how sorry he is and how he’s doing his best as the mascot. This moment is so short but it’s honestly jam-packed with a whole heap of characterization.

His need to apologize for things clearly not his fault - especially when it feels like he messes up the job he was given despite doing the best he can (the phrase “it’s not about you” takes a new meaning when this is one of the lessons to be learned from that - that he is not always solely responsible for things going wrong), his need to save face and make a connection with an older adult man in his life (something he consistently does throughout the series - he’s got a few daddy issues, always collecting potential father figures, it’s no wonder he jumps at the bit to keep rapport), and the way he sounds and looks and the words he chooses really pushes how he is just a kid (“Mr. the Dunk, I’m so sorry”).

Like I know it’s a one off moment that doesn’t truly mean much, but when put against the rest of the series it works really well with the rest of Leo’s established character and helps in solidifying later concepts as well.

Caracalla lost everybody close to him (father figure and twin brother) on the same day, both technically by his own doing, but doesn't even remember half of that anyway, and is now desperate to keep at least one person around, still. he might not even remember his own screaming voice demanding her crucifixion due to her betrayal. and if he does, he clearly wants to take it back and keep her alive and around him. in terms of human companions, she's all he has left. except for Macrinus, of course, but he's still new and another father figure, unable to fill that gaping hole Caracalla's real mother has presumably left and Lucilla is going to leave if she dies. but since Macrinus has the emperor wrapped around his little finger already, just a few words from him convinced Caracalla that this was, in fact, necessary and the only way; thus, sealing Lucilla's fate.
