🍀 - What thoughts or emotions that didn’t make sense to your past self make sense now that you know you’re queer?

You guys really wanted this one. Ok so the biggest thing that I can think of (though it’s not quite an emotion) is child me’s obsessiveness over cool girls. And not in a “I want to be them” way. I remember one summer this girl came to stay with her grandmother who lived in my neighborhood, and despite knowing nothing about her, I suddenly wanted to be around her all the time. Like, to the point where I was blowing off other friends (bad Sam). I couldn’t really explain why I wanted to do that to myself. Or in elementary and middle school there was this girl who I rarely spoke to, who was in different classes, but every time I saw her my brain was like “I must be with her” and in my child mind I was like “to be her friend obviously” and in my adult mind I’m like “you thought she was hot”

🦚- are there any queer books/tv shows/etc. that you would suggest?

I’ve been so bad about consuming media recently so I’m gonna take that etc. to mean webcomics. (I’ll edit this to have links after I post it)

Heir’s Game is a queer political intrigue about a city state that runs a competition for who will be the body guard of the next duke. Great worldbuilding, and lovely well rounded characters. And it’s complete, so you can binge read it!

Matchmaker is an adorable slice of life comic that follows a bunch of queer young adults. This one delves more into gender and sexuality as a basis but it also talks about stuff like working in the art industry, which I find quite relatable! It’s also complete! (You have to scroll to get to the beginning)

Never Satisfied is a great fantasy story with a non-binary lead about Lucy, a magicians apprentice who is trying to win a game to potentially become the city’s next big magical protector. Plot twist though: Lucy isn’t actually that great at magic. In fact… they don’t have any magic at all. I’ve been reading this one for years and it’s such a fun ride. (It’s currently on hiatus I know I’m so sorry but you should still check it out). Another good hiveworks one that I’ve been into lately is Glass Scientists, which is a queer retelling of Jekyll and Hyde. I personally love how it handles the topic of trans identity in fictional Victorian England.

Transfusions. Do you like vampires. Do you like gay people. Are you over the age of 18. Go read transfusions it’s so fun, it’s about a guy who gets attacked by a vampire but then the vampire spares him and then the guy realizes the vampire is lonely so they become buds and then…. Something more. But I’m serious about the age thing this one is intended for a mature audience.

The lesbian flag. I may not be a pink person but hands down the sunset gradient fucks.

y’all do get that if dan and phil hard launch it will break the internet right? like people who haven’t thought about dnp since 2016 and literally everyone else with an online presence will know. suddenly there will be so many new eyes on our cute little community that we’ve managed to build from the ashes of the early phandom. it’ll be worldwide news that those guys from youtube who “weird girls” always shipped were actually together the whole time. it’ll be absolute chaos. it’s not that i don’t want them to hard launch if that’s genuinely what they want to do, i’m just afraid that it’ll send shockwaves through the entire internet that’ll shatter the nice little thing we’ve got going on here. i for one don’t want to be talking to an acquaintance in class next semester and hear them say “did you hear that dan and phil from youtube are together? that’s crazy! i never watched them ‘cause their fans were always so weird. i didn’t even know they were gay. i guess their fans bullied them out of the closet.” and then have to pretend to be normal.

Hi everyone. I will try to slowly in private my old art since it seems to be something I have to manually do…

I wrote a super long post about how I’ve been trying to process everything: feelings regarding the impersonation, feeling of violation of boundaries, this weird sensation of adjusting to different perceptions of my online self when to me, I’m just a random regular guy.

I’m still processing it but I’ve come to the conclusion that I don’t want something I love so dearly to be tainted to the point of feeling like I should just blow up everything. I miss posting and I miss reading tags, I miss reading comments… I miss seeing the little snippets of thoughts.

There is still good in that and I still like comics. I want to thank everyone who’s been incredibly supportive so far. I like sharing a space with passionate people who love things I love
