Kjul's birthday is actually the day his birth mother showed up at his adoptive parents' doorstep, his actual birthday is likely a few days to maybe more than a week before but I think it is too tall of an order to ask a Nord couple to guess the age of a Khajiit infant. Also Lilja (nordmom) probably had to first convince her husband that something in the lines of this thing

was a child and not a cat. And that's a more pressing issue

you guys know you can get USB connectable CD, dvd, and blu-ray players right. and you can buy external hard drives with crazy amounts of space for an amount of money that would make the average person from 2009’s head explode bc of how cheap it is. and if you do this and get ripping software such as handbrake for CDs and DVDs and makeMKV for blurays you can both own a physical copy of whatever media you want and make it accessible to yourself no matter where you are. do you guys know this

This whole thing about scanning your face to prove tour age is making me remember, in 2018 while out in paris we got our wallet stolen during a particularly busy night at a lesbian bar. It was very late and with no money to buy metro tickets we were effectively stranded, but some people helped us and we ended up staying the night at a really sweet older man's place. His face was deeply scarred and he was missing an eye. We chatted on our way and he told me about his life, probably to help calm me down. He explained he had been stuck in a house fire 20 years ago and had had multiple rounds of facial reconstruction and a skin graft, but there's only so much surgery can do so he just learned to live with it. I remember he said he liked the queer bars because they're the only place people don't really stare at him.

At some point I took out my phone, and at the time I was using face unlock. This prompted him to tell me all the ways this technology doesn't work on him. How his phone selfie camera doesn't focus right because it's not a detecting a face. How he had to update his ID the old fashioned way, because the website kept rejecting his photos. And how it was becoming more and more common, and how it was making his life way harder.

This was 7 years ago, and now whenever I see this sort of technology I think of how that guy can't use it. And how house fires are pretty common, and how anything from being born this way to a skin condition to heavy tattooing can probably cause the same issue. Can these people get age verified ? Will they just lose access to all social media, which are increasingly necessary in society, if this becomes the norm ? These are people who are already driven out of public spaces due to how they look, and they're getting pushed out online too all in the interest of companies wanting more money.

Solstheim Interlude: Teldryn Sero

I have 5 NPCs left to cover, and 4 of them are basically generic miners/beggars, so it feels a little silly to group them together with beloved mercenary Teldryn Sero. So here is my redesign!

I adore Teldryn's design, so I really just wanted to add a little flair to freshen him up. I commissioned my friend to design a custom nosering for him based on stag beetle horns :)

I also finally used my gauge earrings for something, as well as a loose strand for that 'dashing rogue' look. He also has some salt and pepper hair, with more stick-outy ears (like all my elf edits.)

armor used in screenshots is Blacklight Chitin for Teldryn Sero. I do plan on patching Teldryn Serious as well :)

sorry to ask: just wondering: what’s your favorite pokémon

I don't really know much about pokemon- I never really got into it as a kid.

However, I did spent the last few years TA'ing for a class in which the final essay was to write about a pokemon from a natural history perspective; describe its habitat, diet, behaviors etc. And I can say that, after grading 100+ of these essays, my least favorite pokemon is Eevee. At least a quarter of all the essays I read were about Eevee or one of its evolutions. I can safely say that I know more about Eevee's ecoogy than I ever wanted to know, and if I never have to read another essay about it it'll be too soon.
