i was offline this weekend again so i missed your posts ugh so pls excuse the v late asks. re: characters i associate you with i didn't know if you meant like who do i mentally picture you shipped with or whose stories i most associate with you but my answer for both are kinda the same so: hoshina and iwaizumi.

i'm pretty sure i found you/followed after "patience" absolutely wrecked my world. every time i feel my love for hoshina is cooling down a little you turn that burner right back up to max and i think it's safe to say you're my favorite hoshina writer. in my head you live in a v nice but not-showy apartment in yokohama and for the first time in his life hoshina has a reason not to make work his entire life. he looks forward to the quiet nights he can come back to you, and on slow mornings and off days you sit in the sunny corner of the apartment or on the balcony (the whole reason you chose this place was for this lovely corner and the view even though you could've gone bigger/more luxury) sharing some nice coffee in little china cups you got together on vacation. you're both reading and after a couple of hours you both get up to refill the coffee and chat about what you're reading like a lil book club. to complete the picture, the new savant's cloud gazer candle OR otherland cardamom milk is burning in the corner.

for iwa, tumblr has awakened me to the underrated gem that is iwaizumi hajime and i love the way you write him. talk about a strong, steady, constant, unwavering rock of a man. mostly my hc of you guys is friends to lovers. i think iwa was built for friends to lovers. you live in a comfortable little house and have a dog together that iwa takes on runs like 3x a day. you usually accompany him on the evening walk and your dog keeps pulling at the leash bc he's used to full on running with iwa but he keeps a firm hand and keeps walking at a leisurely pace so he can enjoy the golden hour sunshine on your face and so you can see that same light illuminating the love he has for you in his eyes. the dog is Over This Sappy Shit. he has to live with it after all. my candle hc for you guys is duvet day or library in a forest by the new savant, signed + sealed or pins + needles by dyad

I am starting to think that being a tourist visiting Greek islands is completely unethical.

In a similar way as buying fast fashion is unethical.

This problem is very prevalent in the islands which is why I am specifically talking about them and not tourism throughout the country (though in specific areas that are tourism heavy the problem still stands).

Very coincidentally, along with Greece's economic protections of the working class collapsing, the new lucrative industry of tourism arose, after the economic crisis. With labour laws becoming more lax to "help the economy" we've seen the rise of seasonal work. What's that you might ask. Young adults with no working experience working in tourist heavy areas in service at restaurants and cafés and what not. Sometimes for 12 hours a day if not more, no benefits, sometimes they don't even provide you with housing, barely any days off. I've had cousins and friends who worked the summer season, it is hell and dehumanising. Especially with how many tourists there just are. Just earlier this month there was a story about how a sea side cafe bar owner had his waiters serve their patrons *in the sea*. THE WAITERS HAD TO WALK INTO THE SEA WITH THE DRINKS TO SERVE THE CUSTOMERS WHO WERE SWIMMING. "But tourists give good tips" AND THAT FIXES THINGS???? YOU THINK THIS MAKES THINGS BETTER??

But it's not just worker exploitation. It's how tourism becomes hostile to the locals themselves. How tourism is actively destroying the local environment. A friend of mine who comes from an island talks about how because of AirBnB locals are outpriced out of their rented homes. How students are kicked out of their apartments as soon as May enters because that's when thr tourism season starts. We gotta rent those apartments to our lovely tourists! How in islands even as big as Crete, every summer the locals have no access to water because it is all used up by hotels and tourists. All greek islands have limited access to drinking water and this is made worse through tourism. But you see you can't have the tourists not use water in abundance! How over the years I have seen my local beach become commercialised. How the public umbrellas crumbled and were replaced by privately owned by a sea side cafe bar umbrellas and sunbeds, making it so you have to pay to have access to that beach. How tourists have no beach etiquette, which ends up littering the area. How businesses' desire to get more tourist customers leaves to natural landmarks just altered beyond recognition, local fauna driven out.

Our government has over relied on tourism to rebuild its economy. When covid happened this showed how vulnerable an economy is if it relies on tourism alone. It feels like even our government treats us more like a tourist attraction than an actual nation. Obviously the issue is capitalism. Some might say it's unregulated capitalism. Whatever. The whole tourism industry was set up so that its vulnerable workers cannot even organise nor fight back. They are only contracted to work 3-4 months a year after all.

If you ever decide to visit Greece for vacation, I don't know, maybe think about all this.

Feeling very soft again thinking about how he just got back to work after being sick and the first thing he does is to come to my office and ask me to tell him all about what happened to me in the week that he couldn't be here. So I say something like "my supervisor had the audacity to criticise my paper despite saying that he hasn't even really read it yet" and I had been actually quite mad about that, but then he goes "Oh, but that's what you want, isn't it? Someone criticising your work, someone fighting back a bit?" And I stopped and felt my anger disappear instantly and I thought ... actually yeah, you're right, why are you right? Why was I even mad? Oh yeah also to be exact for stream purposes, average playtime from all 60 reviews is 10-12 hours, but total range is 8-15, double for a 100% playthrough. You do have to progress in the side content to progress in the main story (complete x missions/get x points/get to x rank type of deal), and you'll probably want to progress in the side content to level up since it's money-based and that's the fastest way to make money. I'm pretty sure the variance comes from getting sucked into the side content (probably not likely for your playstyle) or having trouble with the bosses at a lower level (they're apparently pretty hard this time).

It also looks like the Infinite Wealth demo is split into two (an adventure mode with the extra cutscenes and another one that's basically the demo we've seen around). Adventure mode Allegedly doesn't have proper saves at the time of writing (this was an annoyance for one reviewer so I assume it's long enough to warrant that), so it's worth taking that into account too. Anyway that's about it lol don't quote me on any of this because my brain just shut off after a certain point <3
