Hey, D&D players?
If one of your party members or player characters has a disability of some kind, say they're partially or fully blind, have a mobility aid, are mentally ill, are deaf, anything at all, let's not try and "fix" them? This goes for fictional and fantasy stuff too, if one of your party members is a werewolf or a vampire or undead and they are comfortable and okay with being that way and do not want to change, unless you have explicit consent of that player to heal them for a dramatic moment of the story, don't fucking try.
Leave disabled pc and npcs alone. Making that man not blind anymore isn't heroic it's just ableist.
#kind of tired of people looking at my character and being like#we can fix that!#we can unvampire you!#we can take away your chronic pain!#get the fuck away from me with that#the partys gonna have to find a replacement you if you keep thay shit up#its realistic to have people who lost these things to want them back#its okay for that to be a plot point#but not every disabled person is on an adventure to be “fixed”#get out of your hero complex#and realize not everyone is a victim waiting to be rescued

Claws and Fangs Part 2
CW: Discrimination, essence of racism and hate speech (just with made-up terms because its supernatural creatures)
Part One
[Vampire!]
The little girl standing tiptoe in the doorframe sprang at the vampire's chest, nearly knocking them backwards down the long flight of stairs. Luckily, Fangs managed to catch her under the arms and swing her weight back toward the door just in time.
"Aggie!" they cried, matching her energy. They rubbed noses with the child as they shifted her to the crook of their free arm and reached behind them to find Claws’s arm again.
The child, Aggie, clung to their neck. "Daddy said you weren't coming!"
"Plans changed." They gave the little girl an extra squeeze before smoothly positioning Claws in front of her. "This is [Werewolf]. They're staying the weekend with us."
The little girl lit up for an instant but then froze, sniffing the air and wrinkling her nose. "Why do they smell like that?"
"Aggie!" a new feminine voice scolded, this one older, huskier. "That's no way to treat a guest."
A tall, raven-haired woman in a long red dress appeared in the doorway. Claws only needed a second to recognize her as another vampire. She carried the same red-eyed glint and predatory elegance as Fangs.
Her gaze roved up and down, taking in their utter unvampireness, but she still smiled as she met their eyes.
“Excuse my daughter. She hasn't had much exposure outside a clan.."
Aggie wriggled out of the Fangs’s arms and darted past her mother's legs and into the house.
"I'm [Vampire's] sister, Nerezza. You must be [Werewolf]."
"You know me?"
"Of course, we've been trying to get them to invite you for a dog's age." She gasped, covering her mouth. "I am so sorry."
Fangs covered their face with one hand. "Nerezza."
Claws's face heated. Apparently, their identity was no mystery. "Er, it's fine. I didn't really notice."
"Until you made a big deal out of it," Fangs said.
"Excuse me, [Vampire] for being careful," Nerezza snapped. "I didn't want to offend them before they even got through the door, and I only just remembered that dog is a derogatory term!"
"You can say dog, just don't call them one."
Nerezza glanced at Claws for confirmation, as if she only trusted the explanation from the source's mouth. When they nodded, she noticeably relaxed.
"Well come on in before you catch a cold standing here. Just leave your bags by the door; the staff will take it up to your room. Now. Let's introduce you to everyone else."
Fangs squeezed their hand as they crossed the threshold. "Here we go."
The house was even more beautiful inside than out. Rich red rugs swathed pearly marble floors. The walls and banisters were dark chocolate wood decorated in tapestries and oil portraits of vampires that looked suspiciously similar to Fangs and Nerezza. At the end of the hall, Nerezza turned through an arched entryway into a great, round sitting room. The sofas and recliners were draped in white fur throws and a rose and silver-leaf garland hung over the hearth, the hearty, pine-scented fire within accenting the room with an orange glow.
"Evening everyone!" Fangs said
Several vampires twisted their heads around as they entered, one man on the end of one sofa with his dark silky hair pulled into a bun immediately began sniffing the air.
"What in burning silver is that smell?"
The man beside him, looking nearly identical except for his hair--pale blonde and plaited over his shoulder, promptly punched him in the ribs.
"Told you, told you, told you!" Aggie sang from the floor where she was very meticulously putting together a puzzle of a frog pond.
Fangs's hand slipped out of Claws's grip and settled more protectively around their waist, seeming to forget for a moment that their partner was over a head taller and a few palms bulkier than they were. Though they wouldn't deny that having that supernatural vampire strength wrapped firmly about them was comforting.
"This is [Werewolf]. You know about them. My...er...well, we're engaged. Sort of."
"Sort of?" Man Bun said condescendingly, this time blocking his brother's fist.
"I haven't actually asked yet, but we both already know--"
"You're going to," Claws helped. "It just hasn't officially..."
"No, not quite yet."
"Soon though?" Claws tipped their gaze meaningfully toward Fangs’s face. Standing in front of their family for the first time probably wasn't the time or place for hints, but they couldn't help it now that the topic was out in the open. They had been waiting for a while now.
"Oh, yes, yes, very soon!" Fangs said, and they both strained smiles at the room. Fangs clapped their hands together. "Anyway. Aggie and Nerezza greeted us at the door, this is my brother-in-law, Gabriel."
The vampire he gestured to was in fact the only one who had not bored holes into Claws upon entering. Mostly because he was reclined all the way back in the biggest armchair, snoring. Claws still committed his enormous frame and the pink elastics in his auburn beard and hairline to memory.
"My brother Renwick,” Fangs moved on, introducing the blonde man. “The especially rude one is Lauden." They pinched Man Bun's cheek and turned their tone babyish. "Our baby."
Lauden swatted them away. "Shut up, I'm grown! ...Unless the last blood custard is up for grabs, then I'll gladly be the baby."
"My mother and father, you can call them Jacqueline and Valerian.
Jacqueline strained a smile, but Valerian was as still and austere as one of the oil paintings in the hall. Claws could definitely tell who had the strongest genes. Jacqueline's blonde hair and storm gray eyes had passed to Renwick, but the rest of the siblings shared their father's raven hair, amber eyes, and delicate bone structure. They still needed to get used to vampire parents looking nearly as young as their children.
Fangs gestured to a regal, middle-aged man in the armchair closest to the fire, not a recliner for how stick straight he sat, pale hand planted firmly around the gold knob of his cane. His dark hair was a mane brushed straight back and streaked at the temples with silver.
"Grandfather Ambrose," they mumbled quickly and then immediately brighter, "And that’s everyone!”
Before Claws could reply so much as 'pleased to meet you,' Fangs's strong arms dragged them off balance, plopping them both on the floor beside Aggie, Claws in the center of Fangs's lap.
Claws looked at the floor. It still wasn't the full moon, but the phantom sensation of a tucked tail and ears plagued their body. Maybe this hadn't been such a great idea. The air of awkwardness and disapproval was worse than being alone.
"So, [Werewolf]," Nerezza said, breaking the quiet. "How long have you and [Vampire] been together."
"W-we met a year and a half ago. So I guess officially...a year? How long have you known about me?"
"A year sounds right," Renwick said, leaning his elbows forward on his knees and resting his chin in his hands. His eyes seemed intent on dissecting Claws bit by bit. "You're name came up several times, but [Vampire] has always been a closed trap on the topic. Now I know why."
"Not that it matters, of course," Nerezza piped in quickly.
"Of course," Renwick agreed, though his tone was much less concerned. "How old are you?"
"Er, 27."
"Ah."
What was that supposed to mean?
"Ren," Fangs warned.
"What I'm just getting to know them. Isn't that what you want? Isn't that why you brought them?"
"This a probationary meeting. For if you ever get to see them or me again."
Claws melted closer to the floor, tracing the pattern of the rug with their eyes.
Aggie tugged on their sleeve. "Can you help me find the froggy eyes?"
She pointed to one of the background frogs on the box, his eyes only the corner of a mostly pond puzzle piece.
"Of course, let's see..." They sifted through several nearly identical, greenish-gray pieces. "Ah ha! One set of froggy eyes!"
Aggie's amber eyes lit like embers as she fit the piece into place. "And the dragonflies?"
Claws slowly slid off Fangs's lap and sprawled onto their stomach. "Pink or blue?"
"The pink."
"Ah, those ones are tricky, huh? Well, it looks like they're an edge piece, so can you help me find all the pieces with flat sides like this?"
She nodded adamantly, and together they made a small pile. Claws already saw the dragonflies, but instead of handing the piece to her they said, "See any pink ones?"
Aggie bit her lip mildly with one fang, flicking her eyes back and forth like a cat stalking a mouse. All at once, she pounced, finger landing on the center of the piece.
"Right there! Right there!"
"You found it!"
Aggie giggled. Claws was vaguely aware of a slight back and forth of their hips, habitual even with the absence of a tail.
"Look at them wriggle, just like a--"
"Why don't we all change for dinner," Jacqueline said, cutting Lauden off. She stood with a flourish, fluffing the skirts of her creamy vintage evening gown. “Lauden, dear, come with me, and I’ll help you with your tie.”
“What are you talking about?” the young man said, crinkling his pale brow. “I know how to tie—”
“Come.” Her eyes flashed like lightning in the violent storms of her irises, and Lauden quickly got up to follow her.
***
Claws threw themselves on the bed, giving a luxurious stretch as they stared up at the rich velvet canopy. They rolled on their side as Fangs closed the door.
“Alright, infamous outfit change #1. Help me, my love, what am I ever supposed to wear?” They tossed their head and pressed the back of their hand to their forehead.
Instead of playing along, Fangs sat on the edge of the bed and took their hand. “Do you want to go home? Because one word, and we’re out.”
"Hm?"
"We've only just arrived, and they're already being rude. It's going to get worse as they get more comfortable."
Claws crawled the couple of feet between them and flopped their head on their legs. "I’m not so much of a coward that a few mean words can chase me away. I’m from a wolf pack, you know. We deal with rough every day. Besides, I’ve been through worse.”
“Like what?”
“You.”
“Ow. What?”
“You were not pleasant when we first met. In fact, you called me the d-o-g word. Multiple times.”
“Because I was stupid! And I didn't know it was a slur! I didn't exactly talk to werewolves yet."
Claws reached up and smoothed the creases out of their face. "I know. The point is I can handle it. I'll let you know if can't."
Vampire wore a pout but nodded. They pointed at the suitcases. "It's the grey suitcoat with the red cravat. I'll help you tie it."
"You think I can't do it on my own?"
"Oh, I know you can't. Now stay there and sit still. I'll explain a bit about dinner."

ok spoilers for chapter 88 and onwards ahead for the 2 followers i have who avoid bsd manga spoilers!!!!!!!
stop reading here I'm warning you
ok so. I've seen ppl discuss whether or not akutagawa will survive post vampire apocalypse thing. and i wanna offer my 2 cents
while i do agree with the people saying his death scene was kinda perfect and super satisfying, i think that's only true when you look at it in a vacuum rather than in the context of the whole story, and mainly his 6 months deal with atsushi. and this is why i think there's no way he will perma die before this showdown happens, or at least when we get close to it in the timeline (which I'm p sure we aren't, it's been maybe 2 months at most since they made that deal i think, and that's me being generous with my calculations)
giving that exact time frame of 6 months is too specific to not have a proper payoff. akutagawa can't die yet (like. if it was some vague promise to last as long as it takes for atsushi to become stronger or smth, this would've worked. but the number has to be important. otherwise it wouldn't have been so explicitly stated and iirc even repeated later on)
so this is established. now I'm gonna get into fanfic territory bc this is what I'm thinking about instead of sleeping
i think being unvampirized - either by bram or dazai or however this'll go down - won't just make him his normal, alive self. tho, this last chapter confirmed the vampires can self heal, so maybe this is how it'll go, but i want the angst of it not counting bc it's also part of the ability or w/e, so if the ability cancels out then so will all of its effects. bc i said so. and this is the only way my idea can work.
so anyway now we've got this more corpse-like than usual akutagawa on hand. and atsushi is freaking out. i wanna say everyone has grouped back up together, ada and mafia even maybe, so they all see him freaking out, too.
some of them are confused - weren't you two enemies? yes, you worked well together, but was your bond really that deep...? - is what they think. some of them get it, tho.
in his panic, atsushi locates yosano, practically begging her to heal akutagawa, he's not dead yet, but he's very close to that, and she can help
there's this moral dilemma for the ada, remembering how some of them were directly hurt and injured by akutagawa, and how the mafia is still very much their enemy, and yosano is also having these thoughts. fukuzawa is still missing and can't deliver the final decision on the matter
but atsushi seems so distressed, over this man who tried to kill him so many times. he is mumbling about how akutagawa hasn't killed in awhile, how he tried his best not to hurt anyone, how he's atsushi's partner now.
if atsushi wants him to live, how can the ada say no? and so, yosano uses her ability to save him. the first thing he sees once he's fully conscious, is atsushi's face above his, tears in his eyes
and. this is all i have for you. they reunite - properly - and it's very sappy. love wins.
#disclaimer this isn't actually how i think it's gonna go#HOWEVER i did try to keep it relatively realistic#i do want atsushi to call akutagawa his partner at some point in this arc tho.#dan rambles#~imagination edition~

I have a few things I’m still working on. This weekend I had planned to write and post more, yet a family emergency completely destroyed that notion. Here’s some (longer than usual) peeks into what I’ve been creating in case anyone is interested. I will be posting the next chapter to And The I Left You within the next couple of days. That series will be wrapping up soon and I’ll be posting for these next ones along with requests and such. The three I’m sharing are the Dark TRR AU All Through the Night, The Thomas Hunt Worth the Wait What If AU to this series, and my first Open Heart series, Mixed Signals

All Through the Night
Cordonia's Royal Palace, 2 a.m.
"Heeeerah!” Olivia threw her daggers as hard as she could while doing a roundhouse kick.
The blades struck into the chest, head, and groin of the makeshift dummy.
She brushed the few strands of red hair that had escaped her hair clip out of her eyes. With a great deal of scrutiny, she studied her dagger placement.
"The one to the head needs to go deeper."
She spun around with a start at that all too familiar voice.
"You're late." She folded her arms and tapped her foot.
Liam rubbed the back of his neck. "Sorry. Had to stop off for a quick bite."
Olivia rolled her eyes. "That's not funny."
"Not that kind of bite." He teased, holding up a styrofoam box.
"Oh." She blinked in surprise. "I forget that you enjoy normal food too."
He chuckled at that. "There are certain foods that I don't think any man could ever give up."
Olivia decided to ignore that as she wiped the sweat from her face and neck. "Now that you're here, let's get the formalities over with."
"Very well." Liam gestured toward her. "You may go first."
She sat down on a bench lining one side of the palace gym. She motioned for him to join her.
"Not you!" She hissed when she saw his all too familiar guard.
Drake Walker bristled at her tone. His brown eyes clashed with her green.
"Give us a moment, please." Liam asked him.
"Don't let your guard down." Drake warned. "Remember, she's a Nevarkis."
Olivia tensed. "Perhaps you should remember what happened the last time you said something like that."
She quirked one eyebrow at the man and felt a sense of glee when he winced in memory.
His hand automatically drifted to his side where one of her daggers had once struck true.
With a quick bow to Liam, Drake stepped back out into the hallway.
Liam shook his head. "Are you two ever going to get along?"
"Stop talking stupid." Olivia snapped. "Now then, as you know...I must have my revenge."
"I know." Liam folded his arms and leaned casually against a column.
She eyed him for any sign of hatred.
It drove her crazy how unvampiric he could be.
He seemed almost human.
He seemed...kind.
A vampire is nature's evil incarnate. You can never trust a Rhys.
Those words had been drummed into her skull by her parents and then her aunt after their deaths by Constantine's hand.
And yet...Liam had done the unthinkable.
He had actually been a friend to Olivia.
*************
The night after her parents' funeral, five year old Olivia had been sitting alone before the fireplace, weeping over them.
Her aunt had left her to deal with her own grief and to plan the next attack upon Constantine.
As she searched for a tissue, Olivia jumped back with a shriek at the little blonde haired boy that held the Kleenex box.
His eyes were filled with unshed tears as he handed her a tissue.
"Who are you?" She asked, remembering that a Nevarkis must always be brave.
"I'm Liam." He explained. "I wanted to...I wanted to tell you I'm sorry about your parents." He sniffed and took a tissue for himself. "My mom died too."
Olivia blinked and took a cautious step forward. "Are you...are you a vampire?!"
He nodded.
She whipped out the dagger her mother had given her and rushed at him.
Liam moved faster than she could comprehend, gently keeping her hand above her head.
"Let go of me, monster!" She ordered. "You're why I'm all alone!"
"I didn't do anything." He told her, anguish taking over his handsome features. "I don't want to hurt you or anyone."
"Liar!" She snapped. "That's what you do. Lie and kill." Her tears ran faster down her cheeks. "And now you'll kill me."
"I won't." He promised. "I swear I won't hurt you." He ignored his own tears trickling down his cheeks. His blue eyes burned with resolve. "My mother made me promise never to hurt a human."
Olivia shook her head. It had to be lies. Isn't that what vampires and monsters do? Lull you into letting your guard down so that they could have an easy kill.
"Your father will pay for what he did." She said, hoping to see his true, evil nature. "He must die!"
"I know." Liam slowly released her and took a step back.
Olivia watched in surprise as he sat down before her fireplace and pulled out a silk blue ribbon from his pocket.
He motioned for her to join him.
She slowly lowered herself down, dagger poised in her little fist in case he made a move.
"May I have your hand, please?" He asked.
He patiently waited on her to decide whether or not to give it to him.
She tentatively placed her hand in his.
His lips turned up into a relieved smile as he wrapped the ribbon over their joined hands.
"What are you doing?" She asked, lowering her dagger.
"Making a bond." He explained. "I, Liam Rhys, Crown Prince of the Dark Kingdom, promise to never seek out revenge and to end all vendettas against the Nevarkis family." His blue eyes held her green. "Just as my mother, Queen Eleanor wanted me to."
Oliva's lips parted. "You mean it?"
"I do." Liam's voice held a great deal of sincerity. "I would rather walk into the sun than not do as she asked."
"Oh." Olivia sniffed. She could understand that kind of devotion.
"Do you," Liam's cheeks colored. "Do you think we can be allies?"
"A Nevarkis will never be friends with a monster." She repeated the rhetoric that she knew by heart.
"But," Liam's shoulders slumped. "We're not all bad."
"All monsters are bad at heart."
"I'm not." He pouted. "I don't want to be."
"You're so weird." She muttered.
"Am not." Liam grumbled. "I hope I'm not."
Olivia looked down at their hands still bound together. "I guess since you promised something, I should too."
He didn't bother to hide his surprise.
She stuck her tongue out at him. "I, Olivia Nevarkis, The Crown Princess of Cordonia, swear that after I kill Constantine Rhys, I will lay down my weapons." Her brow furrowed. "I'll pick them back up though if you or any other monster tries anything."
Liam's smile grew. Before she could react, he tugged her into a quick hug.
"Now we can be friends!" He cheered.
"Friends?" She shook her head. "I'm a Nevarkis and you're a Rhys. We can't be friends."
"We will be." He vowed, jumping to his feet. "I have to go before Father finds out I've sneaked out. I'll try to come back in a few nights."
Olivia didn't have a chance to tell him whether or not she wanted him to. In the blink of an eye, he had jumped from her balcony and was already out the palace gates.
*****************
That had been the beginning of Liam's visits. Through the years, he had remained true to his promise. He did all he could to befriend her and never tried to sway her from seeking vengeance.
Olivia had once asked him how he could take her threat against his father so easily.
He had merely shrugged, explaining that he knew it was the way of things. His father had killed both her parents, while he had only lost one. He hoped she didn't since he did not wish to see his father or her dead.
Olivia had then told him again how weird he was, bringing another smile to his lips.
And now here he was again, calmly taking her promised vengeance well.
"So what business brings you here tonight?" She asked.
"Father thinks it is time I chose a wife." Liam responded. "I thought you should know that I will be spending more time in your kingdom to find one."
Olivia shot up off the bench. "What? But you promised to never hurt a human!"
"And I will keep true to that." He explained.
"But..." Olivia's brow furrowed. "You'll turn her into a vampire."
"Only if she wishes it." Liam explained. "I won't force her to make such a decision."
"I see." She began to pace while thinking. "You'll have vampire children."
"Only if she's a vampire." He reminded her. "Remember my brother."
Olivia paused. She had forgotten about Leo Rhys, The Great Disappointment of the Dark Kingdom. His mother had begged Constantine not to turn her. It had never been asked before, and in his mercy he had agreed. That was when they all discovered that a monster and a human could only produce a human child. In order for the heir to the Dark Kingdom to be a vampire, both parents had to be the same being.
"And you'll be fine having human children?" She asked. "If you're chosen bride refuses the Vampire's Kiss?"
"Of course." He responded.
"Lord, you're so weird." She muttered.
His smirk flashed. "Let's hope the woman I choose doesn't think so."
"Are there no women in your kingdom you can choose from?" She asked.
"I've looked." He shook his head. "It's hard to explain, but if one doesn't have an arranged marriage, then we must search until we see the one meant for us."
"And you somehow got weirder." She brushed her hands down her pants and held one out to him. "Good luck, I suppose."
"Thank you." He grasped her hand and lifted it to his lips. "I'll keep you updated on my progress."
"There's no need."
"Of course there is." He winked at her on his way out. "We're friends."
Her lips parted to once again remind him that they couldn't be. For some reason, she decided not to say it.
Liam had somehow wormed his way into her life and had become the closest friend she had ever had.

Worth the Wait (RCD/TRR What If AU)
Amanda grimaced once more over her swollen eyes. Thank goodness she had gone with waterproof eye makeup. At least she only looked swollen instead of a puffy eyed racoon.
Her stomach gurgled when Thomas opened the door.
She hid her face in her hands. "I'm sorry. I've not eaten since I threw up a muffin this morning."
He couldn't help but smile at her embarrassment. "You don't have to worry about what I think when that happens.
When she lifted her head, his eyes narrowed in concern.
"You've been crying." He gently took her face in his hands.
"Hormones." She wondered how she was able to say such a falsehood so easily.
His hands lingered, thumbs brushing her cheeks, then dropped to his sides. "I should forewarn you. Rachel and Stephen are here."
Amanda stepped back, nearly falling backwards off his front stoop.
Thomas caught her in his arms, turning them both until she was safely between him and a wall.
"Are you all right?" He could feel her heart thumping against his chest.
She nodded. "Just caught off guard." Biting her lip, she lifted her eyes to his. "Did you tell them about," she gestured toward her belly.
"I did."
"And?"
"And they are thrilled with the knowledge that they will have a niece or nephew before the year is through.”
Amanda finally asked the question that was really bothering her. “Do they, of course they must, but do they hate me too much for my,” she took a deep breath, “for ending things between us?”
If Thomas was to go with how his sister had not only readily jumped into planning a wedding for them as well as becoming angry over his not proposing to Amanda yet, he seriously doubted she held anything against his ex.
“They don’t hate you at all.” He kept an arm around her waist. “Come inside.”
Leaning a bit closer than necessary to him for comfort, she allowed him to lead her to his living room.
Rachel jumped up and hugged her, pushing her brother out of the way. “I’m so excited!”
Amanda laughed when Stephen thanked her for getting pregnant.
“Now Rach will stop pestering me about getting a puppy or kitten. All her time will be spent in preparation of becoming an aunt.”
“We will get one of those if my niece or nephew wants one.” Rachel snapped at him.
She ignored his teasing grin and focused on Amanda. “How are you feeling?”
“Fine.” She lied.
“She suffers with severe morning sickness.” Thomas corrected.
Rachel’s brow furrowed. “Who is taking care of you?”
“Me.” Amanda said with a laugh that wasn’t quite sincere. “Servants, occasionally my friends, and of course Thomas when we are together.”
Rachel glared at her brother. “She needs help all the time.”
He glared back, knowing she was heavily hinting that they should get married.
“I’ll be fine. Hopefully by my next appointment it will have lessened.” Amanda said, wondering at their sudden irritation.
“And if it doesn’t?” Rachel continued to stare Thomas down.
“Then I’ll do what I have been doing.” Amanda shrugged. “I really don’t have much of a choice in the matter.”
She moved away from them to sit down.
“Some people have a choice.” Rachel muttered where only Thomas could hear.
Ignoring her, he asked Amanda what she felt like eating.
I’m not sure. This baby and I have very different views on what I should eat." She tried to joke.
He had to stop himself from brushing her hair back from her face. That lopsided grin of hers had a way of making him feel the need to comfort her.
"I was thinking of taking you to The Palm for dinner."
Her surprise made him smile. It used to be one of their favorite places to eat. Thomas hadn't been there since they broke up. For some reason, he had gone ahead and made a reservation for them.
"The Palm?" Rachel leaned forward. "What kind of food do they have."
"Italian." Amanda smiled at him. "I have had a craving for tomatoes recently."
"Then hopefully you'll be able to enjoy a meal for a change."
"We'll go to the guest house and get cleaned up." Rachel tugged Stephen up out of his chair. "What time should we be ready?"
"You have thirty minutes." Thomas warned.
"Thirty?!" Rachel dashed out.
Stephen chuckled. "How long do we really have?"
"Forty-five minutes." Thomas replied. "But I know my sister and if i say forty-five, she'll take an hour or more."
Stephen snorted in amusement. "Yes, she will."
Once they were alone, Thomas sat down across from Amanda.
"The Palm." Her smile dimmed some over the memories of romantic evenings spent at that particular establishment. "I can't remember the last time we had dinner there."
"November." Thomas fought squirming when she looked up in surprise once more.
"I'm looking forward to it." Amanda said to break the uncomfortable silence that had fallen between him.
"So am I." He got up to get something to drink. He offered to get her something just to have something to do.
He could feel her eyes following him out of his living room. When he was out of eyesight he pinched the bridge of his nose. He still didn't know if he could risk his heart again. He knew she was leaving soon and that things between them were up in the air.
And he was wanting to settle once more into how they once were.
But then that would bring up whether or not they should go ahead and marry.
Should we? If it doesn't work out, how much more will it hurt to walk away from her and our child? To break the life I once dreamed of having with her...should I really jump into it without seeing if it's worth the chance?
He didn't know. He knew his fear was keeping him from so much. Yet...hadn't his fear kept him from horrible decisions in the past?
Or had it kept him from something great?
He prepared her a glass of ginger ale and brought it to her.
He grasped on the topic of what she planned to do once back in Cordonia while he debated on what to do.

Mixed Signals (Open Heart AU) exert
A few minutes later, Bryce motioned for her to follow him to the cafeteria. It was for the most part empty, save for a couple of doctors grabbing a late lunch.
"You want anything?" He asked.
"No thanks." She sat down at a table while he went to get a snack.
He grinned as he sat down across from her. "Here." He pushed a bag of peanuts toward her. "You should eat something."
Her nose wrinkled. "I haven't really got my appetite back yet."
She noticed the concern in his eyes so like her roommates' and knew she would have to force down some of it just to make it stop.
"So?" She tried not to gag on what once was her favorite go to snack. "How have you been?"
"Shouldn't I be asking you that?" He bit into a burger. "I mean," he said between bites, "of the two of us, you've been the patient."
"Yeah." She slumped some in her seat. "I wasn't too sick to talk on the phone though." Her eyes narrowed somewhat on his. "Or have visitors."
Bryce winced. "Sorry about that, Chris. I guess I didn't know what to say or do?"
"Really?" Her eyes narrowed more.
How often had she stressed to him within the past year that he was important to her, that she wanted to be with him. Then when he wouldn't say he wanted that too and reverted back to calling her a friend, she gave in to trying something with Ethan.
Only for both men to keep her on a yoyo string to pull back and forth whenever they needed her.
What do I see in them to keep swallowing my pride and allowing them to basically use me for sex whenever they want?
Chris was fed up. The longer Bryce stammered about his busy schedule and not wanting to disturb her rest, the more she wanted to chunk the peanuts at his stupid, much too handsome face.
She didn't even want the damn things. Might as well use them as a quick release to her frustration.
Her fingers curled around the bag. Her bicep tightened in preparation to throw them, when Sienna walked up.
Her friend's excited hug and squeals of seeing her at work again were what saved Bryce's overly confident face.
"Why didn't you tell me you were coming back?!" Sienna sat down next to her. "I would have made celebration pancakes this morning!"
Chris couldn't stop from smiling. She could always depend on Sienna's sweetness to boost her mood.
"I didn't really decide until you had left for work. Then Farley came by to check on me and he wasn't feeling too good..."
She continued to tell her about his diagnosis of lime disease.
"Hate to break this up, but I have to get ready for surgery." Bryce smiled at them both. "Take it easy, Valentine. I don't want to have to operate on you next."
Chris bit back a bitter retort that he better hope she needed surgery. It would be his only chance to catch her naked again.
"Meet us at Donahue's later!" Sienna shouted. "We will celebrate Chris being back."
"There's no need." Chris began.
"Yes, there is!" Sienna squeezed another hug out of her. "My best friend is back with us and I'm over the moon about it!"
Bryce smirked at her. "She's right. We have to celebrate our friend's return."
Our friend. Chris despised the word, friend. Why did she keep placing her hope on him seeing her as something more than a mere friend?
And to make things worse, Ethan walked past.
"Dr. Ramsey!" Sienna called out before Chris could stop her. "Come have a drink with us tonight in honor of Chris's return!"
Ethan hesitated. That action nearly earned him peanuts in his much too handsome face too.
Gawd, I hate that look. The sad, yearning eyes. The slight frown. Man up and either say you want to date me or leave me alone for good! This back and forth is killing me worse than the poison did.
"Where at?" Ethan finally asked.
"Donahue's." Sienna beamed when he said he would try and stop by on his way home.
Chris mumbled a goodbye as Bryce left and Ethan headed off to find something to eat.
"Who else should we invite? I know Rafe is still too sick to get out." Sienna tapped her fingers on the table while scrolling through her contacts. "We can invite the rest of the diagnostic team and Ines and--"
"I'll send an invite to Tobias." Chris decided.
"Tobias? Who's...oh!" Sienna's eyes widened. "Dr. Carrick, right?"
"Yeah." Chris sent a text to him before she could think too much about it. "He did rush over with Aurora to try and save my life."
"I thought he was the enemy?" Sienna whispered while her eyes cut to Ethan. "Don't they have bad blood between them?"
"Something like that." Chris grumbled. "They can get over it."
Her phone vibrated with Tobias's response.
You want me to come deep into Edenbrook territory for a drink?
She snorted while answering.
Too scared, huh? And here I was longing for your company.
Well hell, Chris. I've never been able to refuse someone longing for my company. I'll be there. Just make sure no one sticks a scalpel in my back.
Don't worry. I'll protect you.
My hero.
Sienna leaned over, her eyes growing larger with each of their responses.
"Oh my gosh! You like Tobias!"
Chris's smile disappeared. "I don't hate him. But like like him? No."
"You're flirting in your texts!" Sienna giggled. "That is so cute. I haven't see you like this since our first year with--" she clapped a hand over her mouth.
"Uh huh." Chris pushed her chair back. "Anyway, I'll see you after work." She patted her friend's shoulder as she walked away. "Don't worry, I'm not upset with you over the name you almost said."
"Yeah, but." Sienna chased after her. "There is also another person who is interested in you."
"If you mean the one I think, then no. He made it perfectly clear this morning that we can't."
"No!" Sienna wrapped a comforting arm around Chris. "Why not?"
"He's still my boss." Chris mumbled. "And he won't abuse that. No matter how often he gives in to temptation."
"I think he's in love with you." Sienna whispered.
"Not enough to be with me." Chris grumbled.

Rewriting Gertruda in Curse Of Strahd
So in RAW cos, Gertruda is a teenager who is missing from the village of Barovia, and is found in Strahd's bed chambers later by the party (or otherwise rescued). I for one, hate the implication of pedophilia here- Strahd is a predator, yes, but just because hes manipulative and conniving does not mean hes a pedophile.
So, lets tweak this a bit. First of all, we know Strahd does not sleep in his bed chambers, so she can stay there as a red herring (do your players assume the worst about him? does anyone defend him? hopefully your party ends up with doubts and confusion about his character and nature. Keep in mind, Strahd can be both the bbeg, but also a party ally against a worse threat). But why did she come to the castle in the first place?
Well, perhaps she is sick with consumption (for those gothic victorian vibes), and is seeking a cure- eternal life. No 16 year old wants to die, much less one with an older mother they feel beholden to look after. Thus she ran away to the castle, and has been set up in the finest chamber as a show of hospitality. (side bar, but tuberculosis going around also explains the lack of villagers in Barovia proper- yes they are victims of vampire attacks as well, but Strahd is a smart guy- if you eat all your village, you're going to end up starving to death. But if you eat plague victims who are dying anyways.... no loss. I imagine he culls the population very deliberately, treating them more like a herd of cattle- it also reminds me a bit of how I care for my reptiles feeder insect colony, with a lot of care to prevent both over predation and over crowding, and culling parts of the breeding population every few years to replace them with fresh blood, as to prevent incest).
So... why hasn't he just killed her or turned her? Set it up as something the players control via butterfly effect- if they visit the castle early on, or otherwise have diplomatic relations with Strahd, give them a chance to either know about a sick Gertruda in the castle, or to 'save' her by returning her to her mother (still alive and unvampired). If the party kills a great number of vampire spawn- Gertruda is turned as part of an effort to replace those ranks. If the party does a great deal of damage to Strahd (physically or emotionally), and Gertruda is not yet turned, she is killed, both to regen hitpoints, but also for him to vent frustration and feel powerful again. Feeling out of control, weak, or helpless, are all things that are going to make him fly off the deep end a bit- and a sick girl in his room is a very easy outlet.
But- this is just my advice as a dm on how that plotline could be tweaked into being a bit better. There are many other ways to tailor it to your ideas, or to play it as written :)

Lucian - Backstory
For hundreds of years, vampires and humans have coexisted on Earth. Vampires have their own specific laws like humans have theirs. Half vampires became common as vampires and humans had children together.
In this world, a new vampire breed exists, one that is mutated to drink vampire blood instead of human. Most vampires are against this new breed and call them UnVampires. Since this new breed has sprung into existence, humans have been pushing the vampires to implement a law that forbids vampires from hunting the UnVampires. No such law has been put in place.
Lucian and his two brothers, Blayze and Xavier were the first set of siblings to all be born as UnVampires. Since then, more and more UnVampires have slowly popped up. The three brothers spent part of their childhood in peace. That was until their mother and father, both full blooded vampires, were murdered. The reason? Spawning UnVampires into the world.
The brothers fled from their home in fear they would be hunted next. Blayze, who was the oldest, took the younger two into an abandoned warehouse where he figured it would be safe for now. Blayze made it his job to go out and find blood for them. They spent the rest of their childhood and teenage years in the warehouse which they slowly claimed their new home.
Blayze stopped his blood hunt pattern when he got attacked one night and came back to the warehouse in a bloody mess. Xavier and Lucian took care of their eldest brother, giving up some of their share of blood to help. Against Blayze's word, Lucian decided to sneak out one night in search for blood.
Lucian spent a good few hours looking around for any vampires wandering around when he stumbled upon a little kid hiding in an alleyway. He could tell the kid was also a vampire.
"What are you doing here?" Lucian whispered as he crouched down next to the kid.
The kid backed away from Lucian in fear. "Please, don't hurt me!"
"Hey, calm down. I won't hurt you."
"You're a vampire! You hate me!"
"Hate you? But you're also a-" Lucian paused. "Wait, you're a UnVampire, too?"
"Too? Oh, please help me! My parents made me leave home and told me to never return or they'd kill me. I don't wanna die!"
Lucian stared at the panicking kid before reaching out and pulling the kid into his chest.
"Shhh, relax. You've gotta stay quiet or you might attract vampires who will hurt you."
The kid quickly stopped talking and clung onto Lucian who carefully picked them up. He walked his way back to the warehouse, the kid now asleep in his arms. Xavier ran to his brother.
"Lucian-" Xavier stopped.
"The kid's just like us. His parents abandoned him and he was all alone. He doesn't have any chance of surviving out there."
"So you brought him here? Blayze is almost recovered, but we can barely keep each other fed. How are we going to take care of a kid, too?"
"I'll find a way."
Lucian made a spot for the kid to sleep, carefully laying them down. Something inside Lucian seemed to spring to life. He spent the next few months gathering children who were abandoned for being an UnVampire and gave them a new home in the warehouse. Older UnVampires he could find, he recruited. They helped gather blood for the whole group. Some vampires who cared for their alternate breed lived there, donating blood and even luring other vampires for feeding.
It was like Lucian made an army. That little kid he found that one evening grew older and helped accomplice Lucian as he became a leader to the group of UnVampires. Xavier and Blayze admired their brother's passion and stayed by his side to help him. Lucian vowed to help his kind be safe. First step, getting the law to protect UnVampires from other vampires put into place.

Once Bitten, Twice Stupid prt.15
“Lance, it’s Keith. Are you in there?”
Hours. Lance had spent hours staring at his ceiling. He’d climbed into his wardrobe, grabbed his box of death soil, and cried himself to sleep. When he’d woken, he’d crawled over to his bed, his box of death soil sitting on his chest with his left hand resting on it as he stared upwards, simply laying there pretending the world outside didn’t exist
“Pidge called the home phone, she saw you’d left your car in town... I don’t know if you want to arrange a pick up, but it’s there”.
Keith being nice didn’t feel right. He didn’t like it all. He appreciated honesty and and Keith honestly hated him. Him being nice meant he was lying through his teeth
“Lance?”
Answering Keith felt like too much effort. So his car was in town, then that meant all he had to do was go pick it up. He could do that. That would mean he wouldn’t have to be home with “Keith the Liar”... That wasn’t being fair. Keith hadn’t... he was making an effort. He was doing the best he could under the circumstances. Keith had human emotions, so trying to get on fell within that range, but if you care for someone that makes killing them all that harder to do. Lance didn’t want to burden Keith with his death, nor did he want to burden Shiro the same way... This was why mixing with humans just wasn’t a done thing.
Climbing to his feet, Lance walked over to window, undoing the latch, a strong breeze filtered over his face as he looked downwards. Fuck it. Going out the front door wasn’t an option, so jumping out the window it was. It’d hurt, but he’d heal. The walk into town would give him space to breathe
“Lance?”
Yep. Fuck it.
Rolling his right ankle, Lance had barely limped around the side of his house and onto his drive before his escape was interrupted. Night was starting to fall, the air growing moister as the cicadas chirped away. Walking at night had never lost its charms when it came to thinking. He didn’t believe that vampires some how gained mystical powers from the moon like werewolves did, but it definitely gave him a pleasant buzz enough kind of buzz
“What the hell?!”
Jogging up along side him, Keith sounded annoyed
“Go back to the house, Keith”
“Did you jump out your window to avoid me?”
Talk about being sprung, Lance pushed down the discomfort of his ankle, speeding up his step, which Keith annoyingly kept up with
“Why would you jump out the window?”
“Why does anyone go around jumping out windows?”
“You could have come down the stairs”
Lance huffed, wondering if Keith intended to walk the 10 kilometres to town with him
“Then jumping out the window to avoid you would have been ruined... a bit like this”
Picking his pace up again, Keith jogged forward, standing in front of Lance
“Why are you being like this?”
“Like what?”
“This! What did I do now?”
Lance rolled his eyes
“Why do you think this has to do with you?”
“Because we’re the only two people in the house. If you’re upset, it has to be because of me”
Fuck. What was he supposed to do with that?
“And if I say it’s not you, it’s me, will you listen?”
“You’re acting weird and I don’t understand”
“You haven’t known me long enough to know when I’m acting weird”
“I heard you on the phone this morning, then you were crying, and now you’re jumping out of windows. I don’t understand it”
“Even vampires have shit days. You humans don’t have the monotony on that”
“That was more than a bad day...”
“You’re not being... you’re not acting right”
“Oh, please tell me how I act? Could it be that you have no fucking idea what’s going on in my life and insist that you’re some goddamn vampire that I apparently sired? No eres un vampiro! Non sei un vampiro! I don’t know how many other ways I can fucking say it, but you’re a human. You’re a human I’m sending back to stay in town!”
Keith clenched his fists, Lance not sure if he was going to cry, or if the hunter was going to punch him in the face
“That’s not what you said last night”
Lance waved his hand dismissively
“Blame it on fatigue or whatever excuse you need. You’re here to kill me. Don’t go blurring that line any more than you already have”
“You’re the one blurring lines! I don’t understand any of this!”
“Welcome to the club, sorry, we’re fresh out of jackets and medals, but I might be able to swing a free set of steak knives in used condition”
“Fuck you! You don’t know me, you don’t know the shit I’ve been through! You weren’t there when Adam...”
Keith shook his head
“I don’t owe you anything. I can’t believe I was thinking there was more to vampires than what I’d see, but you’re all a bunch of dicks. Go die in a ditch for all I care”
Shit.
“Keith...”
“Save it Lance. You don’t want to help me. You don’t want to explain anything you don’t want to talk about. You’re not the one going through changes. You’re not the one having nightmares and waking up in a cold sweat with your body aching. You’re not the one getting headaches and you’re not the one stuck feeling the changes I’m going through. No. You’re the one who lies to my face. Your just like every other selfish undead fucker who can’t keep their promises”
“You’ve been sick because you poisoned yourself. You clearly have some kind of trauma thanks to Shiro’s partner Adam”
Keith couldn’t hide the surprise on his face
“What the fuck do you know about Adam?”
“What Shiro told me”
Not much at all. He’d done the math and now he was getting to the answer. Adam was Shiro’s partner that’d been killed, and for reason Keith felt guilty for whatever happened... maybe not guilt... maybe anger with anything less than human that’d do whatever had been done to Adam
“If you know about Adam, you should understand”
Lance had the feeling if he said he didn’t know anything, Keith would clam up and leave him in peace. But being a grade A arsehole to Keith took up too much energy. He didn’t want to know Shiro’s secrets, but he did. He didn’t want to know Shiro’s secrets because Shiro had dropped the “Matt bombshell” on him, but he did
“I’ve heard it from Shiro’s perspective, not yours”
“It’s the same thing”
It definitely wasn’t the same thing unless they were into that kind of a relationship
“Shiro was in love. You weren’t”
“What does that matter?! They fucking turned him! Shiro nearly lost his goddamn arm because Adam didn’t show his true colours! Shiro said he was... he was dead before he even got back... he dealt with it”
Keith’s repeated paranoia made sense now. Adam hadn’t been “noticeably” turned. Shiro had thought he was human, not knowing that Adam was no longer than man he’d once been. Keith was scared that he’d been turned and that he was headed down the same path as Adam. He was scared that he was going to lose his brother, and what would happen if his brother lost him
“You’re not to blame for what they did”
“I didn’t...”
“You can’t be superman, Keith. You can’t be in a million places at once. You didn’t know. You couldn’t have known. If Adam was already turned by the time Shiro returned, death would have been a release. We vampires have egos. That’s why we don’t last. That’s why our kind goes insane. You live to watch everyone you love die. You form bonds, only to have to break them because you don’t want the people around you to think you’ve lied to them the whole time, to think none of it was real. It’s not fun and games being like this. We never forget. We remember turning. We remember every single second of it. Your brother lost his lover and you want someone to pay. You want to kill everything you can, because you want to spare others that pain. Well guess what, you’re in pain too. You carry those deaths. You’ve seen shit you never thought possible and you’ve seen the fucking worst of it. That’s why you’ve got a chip on your shoulder, because they hurt your family. I don’t know if Shiro lied to you. I don’t know if Adam really was alive, but if they starved him after the turn, the fact your brother is still alive is something amazing. This life fucking sucks, and for your sake, I hope you find your way out of it. I live in penance for my sins, the sin of being this thing. I try to help as many kids as possible not feel even one scrap of what I did when I was a kid. Ever since you crashed into my life I’ve been going crazy. I feel like I’ve been turned over again, because you’re the first person I’ve ever drank from, and if you weren’t dying, I wouldn’t have done that. I can see right now you want to deck me, so if it makes you feel better, throw that punch”
“Don’t talk at me like you know my life!”
“I don’t and I don’t want to! When you move on, I’m the one who’s going to be stuck here wondering you’re still alive! In 50 years I’m still going to be wondering because I can’t get you out of my head! You’re going to end up dead, Keith. Long before your time of you keep throwing yourself into things head first!”
Keith took half a step back, looking down to the gravel beneath their feet. Adam was a sore topic for the man, and he didn’t know what kind of parents just let their kid run off and do dumb shit like becoming a hunter, but Keith seemed the kind whose home life seemed rocky at best. Raising his head, the hunter locked his eyes on his
“Then teach me”
What the what now?
“Huh?”
“Teach me! You’re a vampire! Teach me!”
Lance was the most unvampire vampire he knew
“Teach you what?”
“How to be stronger”
The what now? Keith was already physically strong, it was the mental side of things he needed to work out. He needed to clear the fog of anger when he fought and to think about the bigger picture
“I can’t teach you”
“Bullshit!”
“I can’t teach you”
“I have to be stronger. I have to get stronger! I’m all Shiro has and you have to help me”
“Then for Shiro’s sake, I’m going to recommend therapy. Your body isn’t the weak, it’s your mind”
“Then fucking teach me!”
“I can’t teach you!”
Lance didn’t get his rocks off working out. Training and teaching seemed like so much damn effort. He was old. He wanted to potter around in his garden and enjoy naps in the sun with his cat. He was starting to get another headache all over again, and for some unknown reason his heart felt like it was racing with the desire to do something
“Then fight me! Right here!”
“I don’t want to”
“Why?! Why are you being like this?!”
“Because I’m not to blame for your trauma. You have shit to work out in that thick head of yours. You’re so filled with anger that you’re going to get yourself dead. I doubt that’s the kind of life Adam would have wanted for you. I doubt Shiro wants to bury his brother because you let your anger get you killed”
“I have to become better! I have to protect him!”
“You can’t protect anyone if you can’t protect yourself first”
“That’s why you have to teach me!”
Lance shook his head
“I don’t have to do anything, other than to get my car that your brother decided he couldn’t be bothered returning”
“Shiro would have left it there so he wouldn’t be followed back to you!”
“Then maybe you both should have left when I told you to. Now get out of my way”
“No”
“Excuse me?”
“You heard me. Either you fight me now, or you agree to train me”
“I’m not doing either. I’m going to get my car, then I’m going to drop your idiot arse off back in town”
“Fine! I don’t need you, I don’t need anyone!”
Lance sighed at Keith. What he needed was for someone to reach out and take his hand... but that someone couldn’t be him
“Keith, everybody needs somebody. That’s how life works. You need someone who will lift you up and support you, like Shiro. You need someone who isn’t me. I’m nothing more than a vampire”
“That’s why... that’s why I need you to help me. I need to be better”
“Idiot. You’re already good enough. Try making some friends and you’ll see. Bonds and attachments hurt, but good things come too. Having friends is fun. It’s okay to rely on other people”
“Like you rely on Hunk and Pidge. You haven’t even told them the truth”
“Because the truth would put them in danger. My time with them isn’t a lie. I never thought I’d find two friends like them, no matter how long I lived. But our time as friends has a limit and until then I want to enjoy myself with them as long as possible. Go back to the house and cool your head”
“But... I...”
Lance wanted to reach out and ruffle Keith’s silky black hair. He wanted to do something to take away the heaviness of his words. But Keith forming some kind of attachment would only hurt both of them. It was better to sever the tie before it even began
“I’ll see you later”
*
Pidge and Hunk were waiting in his car for him. They’d set themselves up in the back, playing uno and getting crumbs from their snacks everywhere. Noticing him first, Pidge threw her hand down, clambering out the back to throw her arms around him
“You fucking afk jerk! Where were you?!”
“Busy. You know it is, just another fun filled day being a lawyer”
“I tried calling you!”
“I broke my phone. I’m okay now”
“Good! You scared me. You didn’t even like call me back”
Lance wrapped his arms around Pidge, resting his chin on the top of her head. He wasn’t sure how much trouble he could have gotten himself in the last 20 hours, but he’d obviously scared her
“I’m sorry Pidgeon. I see you and Hunk let yourselves into my car”
“What kind of idiot leaves his keys on the front tyre? That’s like asking for it be stolen”
“I know. I’m the biggest idiot around”
“You are. Now, where’s Keith?”
Pidge stepped out of Lance’s hold to peer around him
“Keith’s back at the house”
“Why?”
“Because I had a few things to do in town? He’s stuck waiting until his brother can come pick him up”
“Soooo, he’s like free tonight?”
Lance groaned
“Pidge, noooo”
She was definitely scheming something he wasn’t up for
“I think you mean, “Pidge, yes!””
“Nope. I definitely said no. Whatever it is, no”
Pidge crossed her arms with a huff
“You haven’t even heard what I’m about to say”
“That’s because I know you’re always scheming in that evil genius brain of yours”
“I am not! But anyway, you know how they let us use the visitors centre... well, apparently someone saw an actual ghost there today! They called me and asked if we can come back”
Lance looked past Pidge to where Hunk was now shuffling the uno cards
“Did she tell you?”
“Yep”
“And did you say no?”
“Yep”
“And she didn’t take no for an answer, did she?”
“Nope”
“Piiiiiidge. You’re going to give him nightmares again”
“It’ll be worth if it we can capture it on film! Anyway, so, like, we’ll go back to your house, pick Keith up, then come back and get my stuff, then we’re all going to go film a ghost!”
Because seeing Keith so soon wasn’t going to be awkward as fuck...
“I don’t think Keith will be interested”
“Of course he will be! He might as well have “I want to believe” tattooed across his forehead”
Keith did believe... it kind of went with the territory
“Pidge...”
“Ah, ah, ah, nope. This is your punishment for making Hunk and I worry about you. And I’m totally driving”
“Not in this life time. God... you really want to do this, don’t you?”
“Yep”
“And Keith has to come?”
“Yep”
“And you’re not going to take no for an answer, are you?”
Pidge beamed, knowing Lance was such a pushover that she could basically ask him for anything her mischievous little brain thought of
“Nope”
“Fine. Fine. Tonight, only. If we don’t catch a ghost, you’re in trouble, missy”
Pidge threw her arms around Lance again
“You’re the best! Let’s go get Keith!”
Ugh... Nope... Lance hoped that whoever was keeping track of his cosmic record was noting down that this was under pressure and he thought it’d be best to leave Keith alone. He’d told Keith to go find some friends, but now it seemed his friends we’re pretty set on making friends with Keith, taking away the whole “finding” part. Personally Lance couldn’t provide Hunk and Pidge with any higher recommendations that didn’t sound really fucking creepy, bordering on obsessive, and stalkery, he knew the best points of both of them, and their not so best ones, but he didn’t want to go recommending them to Keith because they were supposed to be his friends, and he was supposed to be getting rid of Keith... Fucking humans made things so damn complicated.

If you could say one thing to Louis with no repercussions, what would it be?
“Just one thing...How am I supposed to pick just one thing after living with him for so long?” There was a dramatically loud sigh and he purposely paused to think it over, making the moment far longer than he really needed. “...There are many subjects I can talk about, but let's choose sweet guilt shall we?” The vampire shook his head at the very word. “I would tell him, without repercussions including him not lashing out or burying himself in even more depressive feelings, that he needs to let the guilt of killing go. To ‘get over it’ as the Yankees would say. There are far too many people in the world for him to bear the guilt of a few deaths, here and there, on his shoulders.
