the thing about labru vs kabumisu is that both of them have the same core appeal to me, specifically from kabru's side of things: kabru being someone who is constantly agonizing about social rules and putting on the right mask, and meeting this Weird Fucking Guy who does not (cannot) care about all those things, and so kabru slowly allows himself to be more genuine. they're both such good relationships (whether you view them romantically or platonically), why must there be so much hostility between enjoyers of these ships?

little queer xie lian and feng xin. so many thoughts

little xie lian being fascinated by feng xin and not quite realising what he's feeling. just that he loves being around feng xin and sometimes he feels a warmth in his chest when feng xin smiles.

or when he makes a joke and feng xin laughs like it's the funniest thing in the world (isn't there a canonical precedent for them sharing the same sense of humour?) and xie lian feels like his chest is exploding and he's breathing a little quicker, almost like he's physically exerted from training

he sees feng xin being nervous around a girl and doesn't like the sour feeling the sight gives him, but he doesn't dwell on it much because then feng xin turns back around to him and he gets distracted by their conversation.

maybe feng xin also feels weird around xie lian but he thinks it's just a combination of respect for his crown prince and affection for his friend.

and maybe mu qing is the only one who is less sheltered and fully aware of his feelings, but thinks he's the only one who feels this way. he thinks xie lian is infuriatingly beautiful.

but he also resents him for capturing feng xin's attention so easily. he resents both xie lian and feng xin because now there's even more ways their lives are easier than his.
