I think what we're learning is that, according to their video, what Watcher wants and what a majority of Watcher's fans want are not the same, unfortunately. They want to make big, high quality productions, while most of the fans just want amusing, accessible content. The way Watcher broke this news was ...not ideal, but, ultimately, that's their dream. Watcher is their creative baby, and if this is the way they think they can attain that creative dream, then they're allowed to pursue it. Most of their fanbase doesn't agree with that dream or that method, but I can't deny that people are allowed to pursue their dreams. Do I wish they'd revealed this difference in desires less ...abruptly? Absolutely. Do I strongly dislike how my wishes and their dream and approach vary? YES. But how I feel about it doesn't matter, because it seems, right now, they're focused on how to make their dreams of tv-quality shows a reality, rather than cater to anyone else's wishes.

Which again, I can understand and somewhat applaud? but still feel hurt by ...which I guess makes me parasocial.

Anyways, tldr, sometimes you have to let people do what you think is a bad idea. Sometimes you're validated, sometimes you're not
