Very serious prediction for Wind and Truth
*during some sad scene in part 4*
Shallan: oh, all hope is lost
Kelsier, suddenly appearing: it was never on your side to begin with
I did not read the previews, so don't tell me if it already happened

The book starts off establishing that Dalinar is bad at following his clock. Now the only connection they have to the physical realm is that Dalinar and Hoids clocks are synced
Who cares about hubris or being a tyrant, I think it’s clear what character flaw this book will adress
#the easiest option is just handing it over to navani#but that doesn’t make for a fun story#if he does show up 15 min lates I want 5$ for actually predicting that#dalinar kholin#sa5#kowt#wind and truth#stormlight archive#wind and truth spoilers#wat spoilers

WIND AND TRUTH MIDPOINT DEATH FLAG TIER LIST
Alright I just finished Day Five of Wind and Truth, and I'm floating my perspective out here for who may and may not die by the book's end.
S(anderson-confirmed) Tier: All future PoV characters: Sigzil, Lift, Renarin, Ash, Taln, and Jasnah
A(lmost definitely going to survive to Era 2) Tier: Shallan (I think she's pregnant now), Moash (haven't seen enough of him yet, esp. with the upgrade), Rlain (I think Sanderson would find 'bury your gays' hackish), Dalinar (The plot requires him to continue existing in some form, but we could get a rug-pull), Iyatil (also hasn't done enough), El (has barely done anything)
B(est chance is they'll survive, but idk for sure) Tier: Venli (hasn't done much, but has already gotten a whole PoV book), Gavinor (I don't buy that he'll be Odium's champion, but we'll see), Leshwi (also not very prominent, but also mechanically exposed), Other Major Spren: Pattern, Testament, Glys, Tumi, Timbre, Wyndle (if any major spren die other than Syl or Vienta, I'd be shocked)
C(ould go either way) Tier: Szeth (he's got to strike out and become independent, but he also wants to die), Navani (she's exposed herself by delving into the Spiritual Realm, and her loss would tank Urithiru's stability), Associated second-in-commands: Drehy, Colot, Fen (they're not major enough to guarantee survival, but also not major enough to have a lot of death flags), Nale (he's been prominent for a lot of the series, so there's a decent balance between his death being satisfying and shocking)
D(eath Flags abound!) Tier: Adolin (fighting a hopeless battle, just became best friends with a young, uncertain monarch, AND has a family waiting for him!), Yanagawn (is the young, uncertain monarch who's gotten close to Adolin and the fighting), Kaladin and Syl (I'd almost prefer that only one of them dies, because a life-shattering loss for either of them would be the other), Ishar (this Herald is fucked up bruh), Vienta (written to die, Roshar is a fuck, 鬼神 kill em all 1189, I am nomad man, 410,757,864,530 Dead Fused)

I find it really interesting how the one Windrunner ability that Kaladin doesn't have much innate talent for is Adhesion. In RoW we see him improve on using it more in combat situations, but he's also been improving on the spiritual aspect of Adhesion for the whole series.
Adhesion is about binding people together as well as objects. From the WoK flashbacks we can see that as a child Kaladin is terrible at it. Part of it is because his family's postion as the only second nahns in town does isolate them somewhat, but twelve-year-old Kaladin also does not naturally have the social graces it would take to bridge that gap. He's a loner by nature, and he never really forms connections with the people of Hearthstone outside his family. This is partially due to the drama happening with Roshone, but we also see that behind the scenes Lirin and Hesina are able to maintain good relationships with their neighbors despite this. Kaladin is only starting to understand how that works when he leaves Hearthstone to join the army.
Kaladin becomes a squadleader offscreen, so we don't see how he developed into a leadership role aside from what he learned from his sergeant Tukks. We also know he put a lot of work into mastering the spear and that there was a shortage of competent officers in Amaram's army. He and his squad clearly cared for each other, but we don't see how those relationships developed.
By the time he decides to build relationships with Bridge Four, we can see that he's used to interacting with others in a military setting. He tries to use his authority as a bridge leader to make them do strength training, and only after that fails does he realize he can't order people to become a team. And not just any people, these are slaves under a death sentence who have hardly anything to live for.
I think the miracle of Bridge Four wasn't just that those men survived. It was that they formed such strong bonds with one another under such horrible circumstances. Yes, life-threatening situations can bring people together, but they can also make them incredibly risk averse. TWoK shows the mental obstacles they had to overcome too. And I wouldn't be surprised if at least part of the reason they were able to become such a cohesive group was due to the surge of Adhesion. Kaladin came into his own as a leader, but it was also magically enhanced, I think.
I predict that we're going to see Kaladin tap into this power more consciously in Wind and Truth, and it will be key in helping to rehabilitate Ishar. It'll also be really powerful to see this ability that's been among Kaladin's weakest become a massive strength for him. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing it.

Uhhhhh, so we had a lot important revelations this day, but uhhh, I am very confused.
So, around the false desolation the humans and the singers tried to make peace with the help of Ba-ado-mishram, but then Melishi, two heralds and Honor disided that they shouldn't do it. WHY? Honor was afraid that the Radiants will destroy Roshar, but how did it lead to him deciding that need to imprison Mishram? And THIS caused the recreance and not the voidbringers thing. Why doesn't the power of Honor accept Dalinar? He would do WHAT that Tanavast did?
#heeeeelp#this is a mess#at least I kind of understand why Mishram is angry#but this was more or less predictable#wat#wat spoilers#wind and truth spoilers#wind and truth

ןhiii can i please ask for the cullen with a mate with a powerfull gift like elament control b i love 💓💓💓ur writing english is my first lanugne so sorry
The Cullens with a Reader who can Control the Elements
Hello! Thank you so much for the kind words! And don’t worry about your English, I think I understood what you were asking for
Thank you for requesting and I hope you enjoy!
Edward:
He is astonished
When he knew you when you were human, he never would have been able to guess that you would have such a powerful ability
He thinks you are fully deserving of it though
He loves watching you use your powers
He’s always there if you want someone to practice with
He might ask you occasionally to use your abilities for something mundane
Just for the fun of it
“You should take the water that’s in that glass and dump it on Rosalie’s head”
And he is always there to defend you from the Volturi looking to expand their guard
Alice:
She's used to being the one with the most powerful ability in their family
But she did see this coming so she's not surprised
When you were still human she could see flashes of you moving water, bending fire, and shaping the air
She knew you would be amazing
She loves your ability
She could watch you work for hours
And she does
Her favorite pastime is watching you as you practice using your ability
And she knows how it feels for the Volturi to want you so bad they would be willing to do anything to get you to join their ranks
She's always on edge waiting to see if the guard tries to move against them
The Volturi will get to you over her dead body
Jasper:
He's shocked
He's only ever known mental abilities
A couple of the Volturi have the ability to manipulate the world, but it's still mostly mental
He thinks it's amazing, but he is also a little on guard
Whether he knew you as a human and you were turned, thus being a newborn, or you were another vampire who joined their little family, he's watching you closely
He wants to make sure that everyone he loves is safe, and since you have such a strong ability, he's on edge
But after that he is entranced
He loves watching you work
But he also understands if you just want to be left alone
And he doesn't like the Volturi anyway
So if they even ask if you would like to join them, he is on their asses
Rosalie:
I feel like she's always had a little bit of a complex that she doesn't have an ability but Edward does
So she's a little self conscious when the human that she fell in love with and turned ended up having an even stronger ability than anyone could have predicted
Cue the feelings of jealousy and inferiority
It takes her a little bit to get over it
But when she does, she loves your ability
It's very useful
She knows that she'll need to touch a human's hand but doesn't want them to get suspicious because she's too cold?
Well you're here and you can just sort of make fire so it's a perfect scenario
She needs to leave right now but her curling iron is too hot to just leave there?
Boom ice
And she's not afraid to kick some Volturi ass so don't even worry
Emmett:
Hell yeah
He loves it
He's so used to being the scary dog, now it's your turn
Like yeah stay away from us my SO will kick your ass
He thinks you're so cool
He loves watching you practice or do anything with your ability
And he has plenty of suggestions for what to do
"You should turn that puddle into ice so when that guy walks on it he slips"
"That guy just spent 10 minutes waiting for his pizza to cool down... you should heat it up again"
He likes to play pranks, and now he has you and it's so much easier to do
But don't even get me started on the Volturi
He legitimately hates them
Like he can't stand them
So if their old asses ever show up at their house to try and get to you they won't even be able to step inside
Esme:
She's amazed
She's seen so many amazing things since she joined Carlisle, but this definitely takes the cake
She just can't even fathom how you're so powerful and talented
She loves to watch you
And help you out from time to time
Even if she doesn't know what it's like to have an ability
She will do her best to educate you about the Volturi
She doesn't ever want you to leave or to join them, but if that's something that you want to do, then she won't stop you
She'll be very upset and sad, but she would let you go
She just does her best to tell you everything that she knows about them and that she has experienced in the past
Just wants you to make an informed decision
And hopefully not leave her
Carlisle:
He's met many powerful people over the course of his life
Of course, he's met Benjamin too, who has the same ability as you to control the elements
But that doesn't mean he's any less astonished
He always thought that Benjamin was a one in a million chance
So he is very interested to know how you managed to get the same ability as him
He's very helpful when learning how to control your ability
Even though he doesn't have one himself, he has raised three vampires who do (not including Jasper)
Like Esme, he prefers to tell you everything that he knows about the Volturi in the hopes that you'll make your own informed decision
He doesn't want you to join them
But he won't force you to stay with him
That's not his style
But if you express that you don't want to join them but they still try to get you to, he won't hesitate to fight
Vampire! Bella:
All she can say is wow
She's a little butthurt
I mean, she wasn't very happy that her only ability is "to have an incredibly thick skull"
But she is happy for you
She just wishes she was also cool
She loves to watch you work and practice
And she's very helpful with teaching you how to control your ability
She's the most fresh one anyway, it feels like she just learned how to control herself yesterday
And yeah she hates the Volturi's guts
I mean, they were fully intent on killing her daughter and her whole family so
She will fight again if she needs to

“Moash is just as redeemable as Dalinar”
Yes. He is. Of course he is.
But so far the whole point of his character is that he refuses to hold himself accountable for his actions. Like that’s the WHOLE POINT. Moash and Dalinar are opposites for a reason! Dalinar refused to give his pain to Odium, Moash was eager to.
Can Moash be redeemed? Sure. But I don’t think he will be. In order to do that he’d have to do what Dalinar did and really feel the extent of the suffering he’s caused and the harm he’s done.
And that just doesn’t seem like a very Moash thing to do. He has always blamed everything and everyone else for his problems. In some cases (his family being killed) that was justified but in most it was just him ducking responsibility.
My prediction- I think Kaladin and the others will offer him redemption in WAT and I think Moash will refuse it once and for all. And then I think he and Kaladin will fight to the death tbh.

So I finished Wind and Truth. Major spoilers for the cosmere.
Well, that went both so much better and so much worse than I ever could’ve expected. Not the quality of the writing or the story itself, those were so so so good.
The only prediction I made that came true was Herald Kaladin. I don’t think I ever posted about it but I have been preaching that gospel since Jezrien died. My favorite guy is immortal now!! So hopefully he’ll be around until the Cosmere comes to a close. And good lord Brandon did him so right. It’s a shame he didn’t get to spread therapy to the physical realm on Roshar very much but he’s putting those skills to extremely good use.
I never liked Szeth until this book. I love the direction he’s going in, especially the direction him and Nightblood are going. I AM NOT A THING. No talking sword has ever made me cry so much.
I never vibed with the theories that Gavinor would be Odium’s champion but I thought it was incredibly well done and I’m very excited to see what comes of him in the back half.
Rlainarin is everything I could’ve hoped for, and seeing Brandon’s growth as a writer in his representation of queer and neurodivergent characters has been so rewarding! I also love that Rlain has been given such a relevant role as Bridger of Minds. I was worried he might just become Renarin’s bf and not much more.
Adolin and Maya’s arc was so much more than I could’ve hoped for, I love the Unoathed, and hit fighting the thunderclast was one of my favorite action scenes in the cosmere.
I’m so glad Vasher is sticking around on Roshar AND training Lift??? I love Lift and can’t wait for her book in the back half.
I caught on to the Auxiliary “twist” as soon as he started calling Szeth his squire. I’m glad we got to see the beginning of Sigzil’s transition to Nomad. I’m not sure if I would recommend people reading Sunlit Man between Row and WaT or after, but I was glad I’d read Sunlit Man already. I love Sigzil so so much and really hope we get more of him than just Sunlit Man, fortunately the time dilation thing allows him time to travel the cosmere as Nomad then Zellion and still possibly come back for the back half!
Retribution, the perfect direction for this midpoint in the series. Taravangian wielding two shards that can work well together is such a huge insane threat and I can’t wait to see how the world responds to him.
Although they took a bit of a back seat I was very excited by where the Listeners ended up.
Dalinar. Good LORD Dalinar. If Kaladin didn’t exist he would easily be my favorite character, and as devastating as his death is, I’m so incredibly proud of him and his journey. Given what he was up against, he absolutely made the right decision, forcing the other shards into action. I LOOOOOOOVED him showing Honor that it’s not all about sticking to oaths, showing the power what it could be even in a dire moment like that.
The cosmere fandom is one of the only ones I actively engage with, due in no small part to the morality of its flagship series (I know I know, Mistborn’s cool too)
This is my favorite book series, I will love it until the day I die. I’m sad that there won’t be a new one for a couple years but it’s genuinely something that makes me want to be healthier so I live long enough to see the conclusion. The immortal words are etched into my heart and I will continue to do my best to live by them.
Life before death. Strength before weakness. Journey before destination.

i agree with your last post wayyyy too much. i can’t do jon snow haters or people who say that dany had every right to burn down kings landing because they k!lled her best friend. okay??? what about the thousands of innocents. she had a whole army, she could have just gone for cersei or been an actual leader and not taken revenge on her own ‘people’. like??? also if you support jamie lannister being a king slayer and k!lling aerys to save thousands of lives (which ill assume most of the fandom does) then jon did the exact same thing. yes they both ‘betrayed’ people they served but it saved thousands of lives.
my only argument in dany’s defense is she should have never gone ‘mad’. the writers should have never made her get on dragon back and burn down an entire city, but since she did, then she has got to GO.
The thing is, is that the burning of Kings Landing has been a LONG existing prediction by book readers of what Dany will do once she reaches Westeros. It has been theorized for YEARS before Benioff and Weiss were likely ever told about the books planned ending beats.
But, it won't be because she's mad. It will be a calculated move on purpose, no madness, just self righteous justification that because they didn't want her as Queen, they should die.
In the show, Dany has posed this multiple times. Dany in the show over the years does NOT hesitate to say she wants to burn cities to the ground, make her enemies die screaming, and has routinely posed situations where her options are literally bend the knee or die.
For example, this is a snippet of dialouge from season 8 after she burned Kings Landing and one million people with it.
Jon: "What about everyone else? All the other people who think they know what's good." Dany: "They don't get to choose."
This sounds extremely like something Dany says to Jorah in season 4 when he informs her that the masters have disregarded her laws almost as soon as she left Yunkai.
Dany: "He will tell the masters what has happened in Meereen. He will explain the choice they have before them. They can live in my new world or they can die in their old one."
This is the exact same scenario. You either live in Dany's world exactly as she dictates it, or you die.
There is no actual choice she is giving the masters, it is her way or death. Exactly like she plans to do to the rest of Westeros. Season 8 was not out of character.
Jorah says in this very scene that it is tempting to always see your opposition as evil, but that by always treating those who oppose you as such, it is the good and innocent who will get caught in the crossfire, and she says that she has no interest in entertaining what other people think is good and evil, she does as she sees fit.
One Barristan dies, she leads whats left of the leaders of noble houses to where her dragons are locked away, and lets one burn a man alive with abosutely no proof these men had anything to do with it as a threat that she will do the same to them. Again, with no proof that the masters or noble houses of Mereen have ANY relation to the Sons of the Harpy.
Upon a rewatch, one will find Dany says a LOT of very concerning things that foreshadow whats to come. This is going to happen, this was always going to happen. Dany was not going to burn the Red Keep, because thats the castle her family built with the throne her family created. Its the symbol of everything she wants and thinks she's entitled too.
But the people? These people who in the show and likely books, will not see kindly to this foreign occupier who uses her dragons to scare people into submission and will not yeild their Queen or King to her? Well, they are in her way. They refuse to join her new world, so they die in their old one. She doesn't need the people of one city to take the throne as long as theres still a throne to sit upon.
Dany routinely sees evil in her enemies with no grey area. Jon, otherwise is a man who looked his enemy in the eye (lord commander of the nights watch who betrayed them as a spy up against the wildlings he spied on and defeated in battle), and said (paraphrasing) "We don't have to be friends, but you, your children, and your children's children all deserve to survive. Let me protect you."
When everyone hated him for it. But he did it because it was the right thing to do. Jon has always given men at their worst chances at redemption. Thats what the Nights Watch is, so many of them were criminals, murderers, rapists, but Jon lets them prove they are better then their worst parts and only punishes with due justice when they commit the re offending behavior. Jon doesn't kill Karl Tanner in a brutal way beacuse he likes it, he only killed him like that when his back was turned, because Karl was about to kill the innocent girl who helped Jon by stabbing Karl in the back when he had Jon pinned.
Dany has no right to burn down Kings Landing, there is no excuse for it. But she will not beacuse she is forced too, or by accident, or through madness. No, it will be a calculated, purposeful decision that she will choose to do this, because thats how she has chosen to commit every atrocity she's ever done, which when you tally it up, is shocking and disturbingly high.
It was a massacre of extreme proportions that she was proud of. Wheras Jon felt extreme guilt for not saving every free folk when the army of the dead massacred Hardhome, when that was completely out of his control or power, and when he still in fact, saved over 5000 lives of what was supposed to be his greatest enemy.
The completely unbelievable joke of a romance aside, the Jon we know would not have hesitated to kill her. That is one million lives she murdered in the most brutal fashion because she didn't get what she wanted.
But we know why Jon would want to kill her for it, beacuse she answered the very question he posed in season five in the most terrifying way possible.
Jon: "Isn't their survival more important than your pride?"
Dany said no, and massacred the very same people Jon has been trying to save for years. I was being factious when I said Jon should've killed her harder, but it's still true. Dany in the show became exactly what the books are leading up to. But people were tricked through the framing that beacuse Dany thinks shes the world's main character, that she's always in the right, when she very often isn't.
It was always coming, and it was never out of character, beacuse Dany was always this way. At the burning of Kings Landing, she finally just allowed herself to be honest about it.
Jon was right to kill her for committing the exact mass slaughter that Jaime killed Aerys II for being about to commit.
The Targaryeans are fire and blood, and they paid the price for it.
