I think everyone’s subscribing to the “Helena Infiltration Theory” WAYY too quickly. I kinda feel like a lot of the oddities in the way she was acting could be chalked up to something else, and defaulting to “that’s not Helly” feels a lot like… I don’t know, like brushing off character flaws by saying, “No, [X] is possessed! That’s not actually them!”

I’d probably buy into it a bit more if she didn’t have that moment in the halls with Mark where she fervently said, “We’re not the same, actually. Us and the outies, we’re not.”

There are reasons why Helly would want to lie about her identity, and chief among them is the fact that she hates her outie—desperately wants to place distance between them, desperately wants to convince herself that the person she saw wasn’t her.

But there are compelling reasons for both angles, and I can’t say that I won’t be scanning future episodes for hints to either prove or disprove this, so… cheers, 🥂.

I have a feeling for when Stolas presents the Asmodean crystal, one of the argument points Blitz will call Stolas out on is that he could have gotten the crystal at any time, but he didn't so he could kept Blitz close to him/keep Blitz coming back for the grimoire. :/ So while true that Stolas kept Blitz in his hold with their deal, we sadly know that even if Stolas did go that route earlier in their relationship, he'd still be turned down by Ozzie thanks to Fizz's hatred of Blitz, but if Blitz's anger gets the better of him here and he doesn't listen to Stolas explain how it actually went down, it'll likely keep spiraling downward from there. ;_;

*I do enjoy the irony that Blitz's actions are what allowed Stolas to get the Asmodean crystal, so he helped set up this future exchange between him and Stolas. :/

I love the tired, little smile Stolas has because although he's obviously scared about what will happen, he at least has a chance now with the crystal and is basically his big gamble/last hope to get some response from Blitz, whether good or bad. ;_; <3

Watching Wayward Pines for potential ST5 inspo bc the Duffers wrote a couple episodes in s1, and when I got to their second (last) episode and their name crossed the screen, I noticed a visual parallel that might already exist on the show…

Recognize it??

It instantly reminded me of that last shot for the opening of s3, with the landscape peaking out behind the Russian base. But when I went back and actually compared the two, holy shit it’s near identical, and not just the landscape.

I didn’t even remember the helicopter being there on the left, not to mention the pillar-esaue contraption at the center. Like… they’re the same picture.!

With them being credited right at that moment, it’s obvious this was an intentional nod to their previous work.

I just thought it was cool so I wanted to share, but in terms of my watch overall, there is a LOT going on that they could pull from. I’m only halfway through s1, though I’ve heard the show goes downhill in s2 so we’ll see how that goes 😂
