This is a new story by myself and the ever-wonderful James Wylder, which is well worth checking out, if only for their marvellous contributions.

It is a part of the science-fiction/slice-of-life series Academy 27, and the synopsis is as follows:

On the first day Zhyrgal Osmonova transferred to Academy 27, Kalingkata learned a terrible truth: their friendly new classmate was an Earther spy. Now, she's going to prove it--but getting evidence to out a spy is no easy task...

(I would like to clarify that the American spellings were an editorial mandate, and I did not add them of my own volition)

I've been staring at this card a while and wondering why it was an instant buy, despite having no real attachment to said character and it occurred to me that the TCG does a really crummy job on the alt arts of Tamers. The appeal of this card is not the effect or the character but how personal it is, Violet feels like an actual character!

It is probably why these Tamer alt sets did so well, no they aren't as personal as the one above but they are at least reflective of the character and their story. The TAMERS tamer alts to this day are still some of my faves!

And while it does feel like they have been putting a bit more effort in more recent sets, it still isn't very personal, even if it is a stark upgrade from this.

Most Tamer alts are fine, they are ok and ultimately that's it, it's all you can say about them.

So, in brief, what do I mean; basically, it isn't like the Tamers have personalities of their own or things associated with them!

I have examples! This post is already pretty long but I could likely think up ideas for all our main Tamers but for now, I'll keep it at one per show.

Tamers - During a training session, you could have Terriermon peeping a watch through a window or in his room studying up about the Deva's with the poster from the show, Terriermon in plush mode in the background.

Doing a magic trick to cheer up others/entertain classmates or perhaps drawing up a blue print to something as a nod to his engineering prowess. (Just because I disliked it, doesn't mean I wasn't paying attention)

Tohma/Thomas

Gaomon bringing him tea while he studies or watching him boxing or a remembrance nod towards his mother.

After months of painstaking work... it is finally done...

MY ART IS ON A FREAKING WALL!!!

Back in late April I was commissioned to design and paint a mural for the Trading Card Game hall at Geeky Teas and Games. It's supposed to be a Renaissance style depiction of a band of adventurers going off to slay a dragon.

The characters featured are from Star Wars Unlimited, Lorcana, Magic the Gathering, and Pokemon

This has possibly been one of the longest, hardest, and largest projects I have ever done and it's so freaking cool that something I made is now immortalized on a wall (well, at least for however long the store stays in it's current location)

So ye, this is where I've been for the past few months and why I haven't posted much art lately ^^"
