Hello, me again! I just wanted to tell you how much I adore your stuff for Volga and dragons! It's making me want to get back into my own stuff for him and the dragons in my stuff.

Also, I was wondering: what's Volga's relationship with his parents? And if he had kids of his own one day, what would his relationship be like with them?

Loving, until they're old enough to be on their own? Do kids visit their parents or siblings on occasion?

What's Volga's relationship with his parents?

His relationship with his parents, and the rest of his siblings, is actually not too bad. He and Ares do get to see them again and at first he seems wary when encountering Gargoyle, but that's actually more likely because he's afraid he won't be remembered. They were afraid him migrating when he was so small (being the runt of his clutch) would be too dangerous and were rather protective of him. But they taught him well and he talks and thinks about his parents with pride.

Also dragons rarely ever see family members after migrating. They live at the nest and are taught what they need to learn for a year before instinct drives them to leave. Sometimes it doesn't happen and they stay, and other times they may return, it's just not very common. Smolder and Gargoyle though have been around long enough and are strong enough where if dragons do visit it's never a problem like it'd normally be. They're kind of in a weird spot where they've never been challenged and aren't likely to ever be challenged. I wouldn't be surprised if anyone in the family did visit them often, I know the twins Blitz and Blaze do.

If he had kids of his own one day, what would his relationship be like with them?

I think about this too much tbh. I know for a fact he never actually planned to have any ever, primarily because he's perfectly fine being a loner-type and he already has enough to deal with with the gorons and lizardfolk, and then the hylian kingdom practically at his doorstep.

But then the idea of having any does get kinda complicated when you add the hylians into the mix. Because his territory is shared with Hyrule (him and Zelda are both so so stubborn) he's had to make a deal with Zelda that prevents other dragons from making their home in Hryule. He was perfectly fine with this originally (it was a spoken promise which dragons rarely break) because he not very social to begin with, let alone with other dragons. So he just figured he'd probably never have a mate, nor was he really into the idea anyways.

Until post-War of Eras. Scorn shows up suddenly, driven from her own territory across The Great Sea in need of a temporary nest after having been attacked by a hoard of wyverns. He is able to convince Zelda to let Scorn stay long enough to nest only because he knows her well enough to know she's not really interested in fighting anyone, let alone hylians.

When Scorn's eggs do hatch Volga makes sure to help her raise them, teaching them everything his own mentor taught him, along with everything their parents passed onto the siblings. He actually builds a rather healthy relationship with them as their uncle and is admittedly a little surprised when he realizes maybe having a family wouldn't be such a bad idea??? His niece, Harpy, probably ends up being his favorite lollll

But again sadly everything gets too complicated when his agreement with Zelda re-enters his brain. No extra dragons means no kids :( unless Ares convinces Zelda to change her mind.

I do like to think he'd be a lot like his parents though. Protective, but not overbearing. While Volga is aware of what causes dragon parents got abandon their hatchlings, he sees value and potential in them all a lot like his mother did for him. He'd give them all a chance.

I also think Ares made him rethink his perspective on relationships a lot more than he realized, especially after Scorn shows up as well.

Really hope this answered at least something. I tend to just ramble on until eventually something coherent comes out.

But a lot of the Scorn stuff I plan on actually showcasing eventually. Which also eventually leads into meeting Smolder and Gargoyle.

Rise of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers - Count Dregon and his Generals

A prince from a peaceful planet. Twin nobles from a desert world. All three exiled from their homes, all three bent on revenge on those that wronged them. Meet Count Dregon, Nefaria and Scorpina!

Background and story stuff under the cut!

Dregon, formerly Prince Rex of Edenoi, believes in Edenoi's old ways of warfare and conquest. He was banished from the planet years ago for instigating an uprising against his peaceful father, King Lexian, that left his face scarred. Now clad in a golden mask and armor, he has conquered Edenoi after decades away and now sets his sights on Earth to follow his nephew Dex, the newest Masked Rider and sole survivor of the royal family. Dregon's ultimate goal is to claim the Masked Rider powers for himself, his birthright.

Nefaria and Scorpina were formerly members of one of the desert planet Lamari's noble houses. The two were mischievous and cunning, committing petty theft and assault often to test the limits of what they could get away with. That is until Scorpina stole three golden bands from a wealthy crime boss, the enchantment on them cursing her left arm with a disfigurement that would be hard to cover up. Instead of covering for them this time, their family heads cast them out to salvage what little reputation they could.

Years later, the two encountered Dregon in a shady saloon, telling him of their story - with some embellishments to guarantee his pity and net them some credits for the week. Dregon did take pity, but instead of simply giving them a few credits and sending them on their way, he allowed them to stay on his ship. The only condition being they must lend their skills to his growing army of Insectivores.

The twins accepted, with Dregon's army growing in number and power over time, eventually strong enough to invade Lamari. And invade they did, conquering the planet with little resistance. Dregon allowed Nefaria and Scorpina the opportunity to personally execute the families that wronged them, save for the crime boss. The one who had owned Scorpina's cursed bands had already fled far, far away, deep into space prior to the invasion.

The twins declared themselves the Queens of Lamari, appointing Dregon the title of Count. The trio then continued their conquest across the galaxy, crushing all who would defy them.

My thoughts - This is one of those random mashups I found during my grand Marvel/DC comics search of AO3 and it's probably my favorite one of those I've read so far. I would never have thought of it myself but it's so good.

The non-linear chronology serves the story very well, and Kal's perspective on everything is really interesting to read. I have a couple nitpicks in regards to timeline, but it's me. I always have nitpicks regarding timelines. Aside from that, Natasha and Bucky are both very well characterized. Kal is also written well, but I haven't read nearly as much Superman and definitely none of Red Son to compare it. I think he's well done, but I'm not really qualified to make that call.

The dynamics between Kal & Natasha and Kal & Bucky are extremely cool and I like them a lot. They all have character arcs, subtle but really really good character arcs, and Kal's is far and away the best of the three.

1. Agni's Exalted Flame, The Dragon Of The Sun, et cetera, Fire Lord Zuko should not be referred to by his full titles and styles, no matter the context. This appears to annoy him. "Fire Lord Zuko" and "Lord Zuko" are acceptable, as well as "your majesty" and "my Lord".

1.1 "Lord Hotman", however, is unacceptable.

1.2. Even if the Avatar specifically requests you to address Fire Lord Zuko as that.

1.3. In fact, any attempts by the Avatar, the Lady Beifong, the honorable Tribesman Sokka or even Master Katara to get you to address Fire Lord Zuko by anything other than his proper title should be disregarded.

1.4. Referring to Ozai of the Fire Nation (titles rmvd, dishon.) as "The Loser Lord", however, is acceptable.

2. Fire Lord Zuko is aware of the concept of mortality, but does not seem to understand how it relates to His Majesty. #YEAH YEAH YEAH#my head hurts rn and nothin i say is gonna end up super coherent but i’ve said similar things in past posts!! #wars absolutely cares about wild and he’s relaxed a LOT in how he speaks to him recently but hes still a bit harsh #but it’s because hes SCARED and thats makin him come off to wild as angry #and i feel like wild to an extent might be jealous of Wars like maybe hes thinking that was the life HE was supposed to lead #theyre so so similar they really are and they could understand each other and parts of their trauma that none of the others really could #they need to talk so they can make up and set things on fire together 😔

Wars and Wild as knights in Lu

They have issues.

I have a lot of thoughts on Wild and Wars and their relationship (Order of this post is talking about saluting, Wild and Wars' different perspectives, memory issues, and fire) Rant time.

No saluting!!

So Wild took a formal- almost/awkwardly saluting pose when Wars confronted him in 'Entrance pt.2'

It's similar to the first time Wild addressed Wars as 'captain'. His left hand is up from where a salute should be, and his overall posture is awkward, with his shoulders and right hand raised, but it's clear he's trying to do a salute in the presence of a fellow knight.

In the second example his hand is behind his head, but his posture is very straight and his right arm stiff- he's again attempting a formal saluting position. Which is still awkward

It is less clear but his changes in posture clued me in. He goes from like a deer in the headlights to visibly sweating to straight backed and looking up at Wars- looking at the changes in his body language

Side note but I literally love how Jojo draws the champions tunic so much-

We can't see the action of Wild's body language in a comic, just the positions he went to. But he visibly leaned away from Wars before switching to a straight backed saluting-like posture. He's clearly freaked out, hence Twilight's face: >:(

I think that Wild taking somewhat military poses around Wars is important to their relationship issues because it comes from his struggle with memory and identity

I adore Wars. He is baby and I love him. I think it is also important to acknowledge that he would not speak to any of the others this way.

And the scarf man cmon it's so pretty they are so cute-

Why is Wars talking to Wild like this? He's called him out and reprimanded him multiple times in front of the others. Wild has taken it well but tbh if it was Legend I think he would be on fire.

To some extent I think he is in captain mode. I think that he has trouble seeing Wild as not a knight. Wars gives Wild respect as a knight who sacrificed for his kingdom, but now it seems he's taking it away as a knight who's not doing well enough since he 'disregarded the plan'

At least I think that's the outside (or Wild's) view of it. But Wars internally really cares about Wild and he saw him run up to a giant and lose it. Different ways of showing concern perhaps?

Who wouldn't want to keep Wild from getting more scars?

I just. Don't doubt for a second Wars really cares about Wild- even if the way he's acting still isn't cool. He has no right to treat him like a soldier any more than the rest of the chain, and right now I think Wild is acting as the more mature person.

Wild

I adore Wild. He is baby and I love him. I think it is also important to acknowledge that although he is clearly making efforts after Twilight's injury, Wild has ignored Wars for the majority of Lu, by not speaking to him much, and not thanking or acknowledging Wars when he directly helped him. (Small example being walking with Hyrule not Wars when injured and not directly responding to Wars)

Wars cares about and respects Wild, but it seems Wild wants nothing to do with him, and he's been cold towards Wars for the majority of Lu. To Wild, Wars reminds him of his perceived failure. Which is valid feelings, but still not fair. And I think that ask is talking about these two.

The thing I love about this is each of them are right and wrong in some ways, leading to the tension between them. So fully blaming either of them is not logical

The rest of the chain is just vibing. Except twilight who's mad and wants them to just grow up, but. Heros of courage not wisdom @uniquevoidflowers ;)

Wild's identity and memory issues exacerbate all of this

In Entrance, Twilight is being stressed and defensive, that's ok. What concerns me most is that Twilight has talked with Wild through stuff like this in his rough moments

Wild has tried to be formal several times- he is not very good at it

Wild isn't and can't be 'him'- the same 'perfect' (<actually has crippling anxiety) knight he was before, and Twilight knows this. And I agree with him a bit, I think, that Wars is making things worse in Wild's mind by being that perfect soldier, and seemingly holding Wild to a standard he isn't

Wild's attempts at saluting is symbolic of that- Wars makes him feel like a failure trying to be the person he should be. But Wild shouldn't be anyone but himself.

Anyways. Fire.

Wars and Wild have issues, and I want them to work through all their relationship drama so they can reach their PEAK dynamic, which is obviously this

I mean like. We need these two to be friends

Anyways. Wild is in this constant state of identity crisis, and being around Wars has not been beneficial- neither of them is or has been showing the other the respect they deserve. Not as knights, but as people and brothers. They need a get along shirt.
