Peter is yelling, hands cupped at his mouth.
Howie is on his feet, cheering.
Clint’s on the ring edge, calling out tips.
Steve’s staring down the opponent’s boyfriend.
Bucky watches her dodge right, hands up protecting her face. Her knee comes up, connecting with the girl’s side. She stoops, her first mistake. Y/N grabs the back of her head, her toes barely touching the ring mat, before her knee comes back up faster this time. Y/N slams the girl’s head down, meeting her knee. Shoving the girl back, into the ropes, when she stumbles from the knee to the face, Y/N winds up, throwing an absolute ruthless right hook to the jaw.
Her head snaps back, blood spraying, her body goes limp, hitting the mat with a thump.
The Ditch goes nuts, screaming from all sides. Cheering, celebrating, talking shit.
TC dips under the ropes, grabbing Y/N’s hand, holding it up, cheering just as loud.
When the Stark’s meet eyes. Howie and Peter are on their feet. Y/N bounces on her toes, all three at the same time, flex inward, with a loud “AHHHHH!” at one another.
“That’s our girl!” Becca is on her feet, screaming for her best friend.
He grins when his girl locks eyes with him. She grins, rolling her eyes at him.
They still went to The Ditch, sometimes TC worked the decks there. Mainly when Y/N wanted to beat on bitches for kicks. She was getting Becca into it now. Only Y/N’s now fighting top fighters from other areas, coming to see what she’s made of.
Sure she might be taking over the table, running her own mafia, and be the most feared thing in Saints high school, but she’s still the girl that needs a good fight to feel calm. Compromises were made between him and her when they started settling into life together. Like her training with Frankie and TC, after the battle for her, she never wants to be underprepared for another fight. He couldn’t blame her, encouraged her.
The memory of her in the hospital, damaged and broken, burned into his mind for life.
A tight feeling appeared in his chest, worrying about his baby sister taking over.
“Boss man?” She’s next to him, Clint cutting the tape off her hands. Steve, cleaning up the few cuts on her.
“The right hook, baby girl.” He shakes his head, smirking at her. “I’d say it’s blessed by Satan.” He chuckles, leaning into kiss her.
“But I am Satan.” She laughs against him, kissing him again.
“Don’t we know it.” Clint snorts.
“Unlikely to ever forget it.” Steve shakes his head.
“And if you do, I’ll remind you.” She sasses, like a snotty teenager.
“Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.” The two mutter at the same time, laughing.
“Ah.” Steve pauses.
“What?” He asks.
Steve scratches the back of his head. “Is that new or old?” He cut his eyes to her thigh and back away.
Fingerprints, on the outside of her thigh, a thumb print on the inside of her thighs.
“Old.” She grins in Steve’s face.
“Scarred for life.” Becca whines, walking away.
Clint looks down and back to her. “That’s hot.” He grins.
“Fuck yeah.” She laughs, they high five.
“Alright, enough of that.” He pushes Clint away, making him laugh.
-----
The house party loud and packed. The typical Friday night high school parties for them. He sat on the couch talking with the guys. “What’s the policy for fighting here?” Howie laughs, sipping from his beer bottle.
“Don’t. Why?” Steve smirks.
“Cause if Smalls sees that girl eye fucking Bucky, that policy won’t matter to her.” Peter laughs.
“Does any rule?” Bucky sighs.
They all laugh.
“Boss man.” She saunters up to them. Dark cut off shorts, a cut short red T-shirt, with a black sports bra underneath. Her ball cap turned backwards, dark hair in messy waves.
“Doll?” He smirks up at her when she comes to stop the side of the couch, he’s on.
She leans down, black fingernails tip his chin up towards her. Her eyes cut to the side and instead of kissing him as he thought. She licks him, from his jaw to his eyebrow. Staring down the girl watching him. She looks startled before she bumps into someone trying to get away.
“Much better.” She smiles pretty walking away.
Peter’s brow yanks down. Howie looks confused. Steve and Clint are unbothered.
“Did our baby sister,” Howie blinks.
“Lick you?” Peter’s eyelids flutter quickly.
“Yup.” Clint and Steve reply, throwing back shorts.
“What in the fuck?” Peter laughs.
“Not new.” Clint shakes his head, downing his beer.
TC is moving towards them, a look of worry on his face.
“What?” He puts his cup down.
“Pretty sure Eddie is across the street.” He jerks his thumb backwards.
They exchange a look between the five of them before jumping up and hurrying out of the house.
Indeed, on the other side of the road, sits Eddie parked, leaning against his car. He smirks at them, as they come to stand on the walkway of the house.
“Gwen get in the house.” Y/N’s voice hits his ears.
“Y/N.” Gwen sounds nervous.
“Wanda stay here.” Y/N orders, he can hear her coming up behind them. She cuts around him, walking down the path, they follow her. She stops on the edge of the curb.
Eddie flicks his eyes from her to Becca, standing next to her.
“Try it.” Y/N warns him.
Eddie smirks, cutting his eyes back to Y/N. They stare back at one another.
She stares him down, Buck looks from Eddie to Y/N, something dark and dangerous in her brown eyes.
It’s Eddie who blinks first, looking away. Suddenly he gets back into his car, leaving.
She turns on them, staring at each of them for a moment.
“Something you boys need to tell me?” Her brow lifts, Becca looks tense next to her.
“We don’t know what that was about.” He assures her.
She nods slowly. Cutting between them heading back towards her girls at the door. The six of them exchange a look, heading for her. She pauses, taking the cup from Gwen, she turns to them standing above them on the front stoop.
“You better swear on whatever god you believe in, Boss man; you didn’t lie to me.” She repeats the saying from the beginning, when they first started out and Ben Rielly and Sina were causing issues for them. The ice cold look in her eyes, makes his steps stop suddenly.
“I’ll make your life hell, James Barnes, you think before was rough, you haven’t seen shit yet.” She warns him. Turning, she steps into the house between her friends, walking away.
Fear creeps into his chest.
He swallows hard.

Where Rachel was born
The historical side of the city (Image description under each image)
Tumblr media
Downtown Rachel from the south.
At the bottom of the picture we see the back of the shopping mall and the commercial area, as well the old engine shed and the historic water tower.
The town hall with its large dome dominates the center of the picture. On the left edge of the picture are the fire department and the police station.
Behind it is the Townsquare with its commercial buildings. The Independence Inn (green building) stands out in the square. Right next to it is the Trinity Church of Male, Female and Diversity as well as the historic Rachel Society (black farm) and the community center. The SPI Hospital (the Hospital of the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence) is located in the large white building at the top left of the picture.

An overview of the historic site of Rachel, the city's founding site.

Tumblr media
Oh, I think the bride is rehearsing for the big day with her bridesmaids. Let's not bother them any further.
Tumblr media
What's happening here in the community center? Even the reporters from DVB and Devon24 are there! Does this perhaps have something to do with current events?
Tumblr media
However, it is quiet in the Riverview park. The perfect place to enjoy hot summers.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A very special house in Rachel is Rachel's Farm. It is not only the oldest but also the first house in Rachel. The "de Rochel" family settled here in 1745 and laid the foundation stone for this city. Today it houses the Rachel historic museum and the city's historical society. A visit is an absolute must if you are ever in the city.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Finally, a look at the SPI Hospital. The Hospital of the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence (google it - you will be surprised) ;-)

Now really the last picture for today. A view from north to south over this beautiful city. Be kind to one another, send love out into the world and know that no matter who or what you are, you are always welcome and safe in Rachel. Greetings from the Dead Rabbit

Selina vs Talia
It was never a fair fight...
DC and Warner are never on the side of the Al-Ghul.
To start with, why do people prefer Selina over Talia? And a lot of that starts with the animation and movies, which DC and Wbros gave us, about both, fun adaptations, great, adventures, romance with Selina, but with Talia? What do they give us, a crazy jealous woman from a mental hospital who kills? You know, Talia wanted to be a doctor, she wanted to save lives....
But what adaptations do we have about her? A femfatal obsessed with her ex, she was never like that, Talia left Bruce...
I think DC and Warner owe us a really good adaptation of Talia, or like Disney currently does (Maleficent or Cruella) the point of view of the antagonist, Talia is the villain of a badly told story.
To finish, I don't hate (at least I do) Selina.
I see both of them as the two loving pillars of Batman.
But thinking coldly it was never a fair confrontation, taking into account that many do not read comics and others only stay with the adaptations.

notes from the nnc s3e1 taping
so back in july hannah @bornforastorm and i went to the taping of the new night court season 3 premiere!!! to the best of my memory, here's what went down:
[spoilers below the cut]
pre show:
taping was on stage 10 of the warner bros lot
hannah and i got there early (as instructed) and were pretty much the only ones in attendance who had actually seen og night court (majority of ppl knew melissa rauch from big bang theory)
which is also wild to me by the way?? why would you go to a taping of a show you have never watched??
anyway
we chatted with a very nice belgian lady and a nice australian couple who had been traveling across the country for the last few months (they gave us mini kangaroo pins)
we were not allowed to have our phones on us (alas) or i would have taken a million pictures
new night court set looks a lot more grimy in person?? which i was surprised by because on tv the show looks so much cleaner than the original did. guess that's due to lighting and whatever goes down in postproduction
hannah and i were one of the first ones in line to go into the studio (we all but shoved our way to the front) and got to sit in the second row
they had a magician named mark sweet who warmed the crowd up with very delightful magic tricks (iirc he was also the opening act for tbbt tapings which is how he got this gig)
from where hannah and i were sitting we had a great view of the courtroom set. abby's chambers set and the cafeteria set and the hospital set were more difficult to see
they played a Here's What Happened So Far On Night Court recap for us to which hannah and i were like [ron swanson voice] we know more than you
when larroquette came out for the curtain call opening my vision whited out and i screamed like a maniac
larroquette was very tall and waved cutely and did a peace sign and applauded for melissa and no one else
hannah and i were more insane about that old man than anyone in the whole studio audience
abby's dream sequence scene + julianne's arrival scene:
abby's dream sequence was filmed a previous day; we watched that on tv (it already had the laugh track added)
on the first take of this scene when julianne showed up larroquette did a classic Dan Fielding Yelp and Jumped and hid behind flobert and it was magical to see
this would continue for the rest of the night but on every single take larroquette did something different and it was equally hilarious every time. that man knows how to read a crowd
they told us straight up not to applaud when wendie malick came in as not to distract the actors (or something?? can't remember the reason but i knew she was going to be there so i was not surprised)
gurgslivia canon confirmed (gurgs changed clothes in front of her)
flobert in a wig boston legal reference!!!
when talking about the new prosecutor larroquette did a take where he made an explicit reference to the OG night court pilot (alas i did not write down what it was)
larroquette had to bend down so the makeup people could touch his face up and spritz his hair
larroquette does this little shimmy every time before he gets into character as dan and it's great
great is not a strong enough word actually. seeing him transform into dan fielding before my very eyes was a spiritual experience. i heard colors and smelled sounds.
actors who flubbed the most lines: wendie malick
actors having the most fun with different line readings: larroquette and lacretta and also gary anthony williams
abby's chambers scene:
alternate dan lines: ‘Juicy little mouse’ ‘Juicy little spring lamb’
alternate dan lines: ‘crocheting a shank’ with hand gesture
fantastic line reading: ‘macrame net’
alternate dan lines: ‘chicken feet’ ‘cat brains’ ‘wrestling alligators’ (then that again but in a more southern accent so it was like 'wrasslin gators')
the cheeto bag julianne was holding exploded on the first take but larroquette went with it like a pro
larroquette did extremely hilarious line readings of That’s A Lie every single time
again wendie malick flubbed a lot of lines but she was a champ and got through it
melissa rauch had a lot of fun with the physical comedy in this scene
hospital scene:
julia duffy had soooo much fun slapping melissa rauch
hannah and i SCREAMED when julia duffy implied harry was the father (which i predicted IN MARCH AHAHAHA)
literally i was CLUTCHING hannah's hand. we were losing it
the nice australian couple behind us: .......glad you two are......having fun
melissa rauch once again had fun with the physical comedy
final courtroom scene:
took the longest to film
solid line reading of ‘a scarf with metaphorical strings attached’
some lines were not working during this scene so the writers rewrote them on the spot (and they did not notice my attempt to subliminally get them to hire me for the writers room)
lacretta and nyambi had so much fun during the julianne 'reveal'
when gary anthony williams was dumping the flobert pics out of the bag on one take they got stuck and wouldn't come out and his reaction was very funny
misc:
taping was about four hours long and we were given pizza around the midpoint
saw larroquette chatting with wendie during the breaks very cutely
larroquette swore ‘god damn it’ when he flubbed a line (very rare, he was the best of everyone)
larroquette didn't mix much with the cast other than wendie and melissa
larroquette has a book that he carries his scripts in and it looks leather bound and has a ribbon he uses to mark pages (possibly he has this for every script??)
when larroquette reads dan’s lines while he's rehearsing, he reads them with dan’s scrunched up facial expressions and does dan’s mannerisms (dannerisms??)
phill lewis (director of the ep) came up to the audience at one point and asked if there were any fans of suite life and did the ‘no running in my lobby!!!’ line in moseby’s voice and i shrieked about it
melissa rauch also came up to the audience and said hello and she was very charming
ren bell dialogue coach is hot as fuck
dan rubin was apparently there but we couldn’t see him
larroquette left immediately after curtain call (he does his job gets that paycheck and goes home god bless)
larroquette looked sooooo good in that suit
they filmed some scenes the day before our taping (dream sequence + cafeteria scene) and added a laugh track to them?? but then played them for us so our laughs would be dubbed over the laugh track?? no clue how that works
from what we saw the writers seem to be all relatively young, 20s and 30s (we gotta get more older writers in there for john’s sake)
the best non larroquette actors are easily lacretta and gary anthony williams (who is so funny and needs to be a series regular asap)
wendie malick flubbed a lot of her lines but she is apparently new to filming in front of an audience and she seemed very charming and funny; there were vips in the audience who were friends of hers and she came up and said hi to them
speaking of vips the perks they get include getting to keep their phones on them, being more likely to win prizes from the opening act magician (more on that below), and getting to hang with the actors after the show
melissa rauch impressed me, i think she is really settling into this role and i am excited to see what she does with abby this season
after they had to stop a take bc someone flubbed a line larroquette said something bitchy-funny (‘this is what happens when you-‘) but we couldn’t hear the rest of it
larroquette was doing all the physical comedy his 76 year old self was willing to do and he was amazing
overall seems to be a tight crew and cast god bless
in between takes mark sweet the magician would entertain us and also offered us the chance to win night court merch in exchange for us doing silly things. and at one point mark sweet was giving away signed copies of the script to anyone who had a special talent. so i came up and he had someone from the front row be my assistant. so i said to my assistant okay close your eyes. now reach your left hand out and grab the folder with the scripts out of mark sweet's hand.
i was shameless and got what i wanted :)
Tumblr media
anyway overall incredible experience. i came out of there beaming like the joker and with enough energy to pick up a car and throw it five hundred yards. were it not for the laws of this land (aka me living in wisconsin) i would go to tapings every single week.

Trying my hand at this Apollo thing
Putting my predictions for 7x07-7x10 here just so I have a record so I can look back later and see if I was right.
We're gonna get a time skip at some point, a couple of months or even more. Possibly before the next episode (Maddie has a new haircut in the trailer and Chim looks all healed up). I think they want the two in-progress relationships (Eddie and Marisol, and Buck and Tommy) to be further along for...reasons.
The character from Bobby's past is either his brother, or the character played by Malcoln-Jamal Warner (Brad, according to IMDB), or both. Brad is someone who suffered because of the apartment fire that killed Bobby's family but he does not let them know that yet because he is there for REVENGE. Bobby thinks he's just dealing with his brother. Family history is drug up.
SOMETHING goes down with the Diaz family. Best bet? Abuela's health. This causes something of a crisis in Eddie's relationship. Another possibility: Chris has a CP-related medical crisis. This causes the will to be brought up (this is supported by reports that Oliver filmed with all the Diaz family members including Helena and Ramon). This might also cause something of a crisis in Eddie's relationship.
The Helicopter Chaos Squad, all five of them, are awarded medals (we've seen BTS of this ceremony and LFJR wearing a medal and a dress uniform, plus Eddie, Hen and Chim also in dress uniform). Bobby is proud and bestows the medals on them.
We see more hints that Buck is considering moving as the loft is getting too expensive. We've already seen a few.
Brad is plotting Revenge when he figures out who Bobby is. He stalks him and sees how close he is to his fire family. He is bitter that Bobby is still a firefighter.
There's a gathering at Buck's place, maybe post-medal ceremony? Most of the fam is there. Brad torches the building and they are all trapped. Bobby is able to, this time, save his family and get closure from the previous fire. But he gets, like, smoke inhalation hence hospital gown.
Whoops, Buck has no place to live, good thing he currently has a boyfriend and look at that, he's been established to have a significant house situation (with a lift and a muay thai gym), what a coinkidink. (I know people want him to move in with Eddie but like...where. He's gonna sleep on the couch for months?) He moves in with Tommy (I'd been predicting they'd do some end-of-season gesture of Increased Commitment) they possibly say "I love you" and we are all undone by it.
Eddie and Marisol break up because whatever. He and Buck have some heartfelt best friend scenes and we are all undone by them.
The body bag we've seen is Brad, who died in the fire he set, possibly in a confrontation with Bobby, probably by falling from a height in the best Disney villain tradition.
Abuela dies. We are all...well, you know.

Headcanon - The Warners all have some undiagnosed conditions with only Wakko’s hypoglycemia being officially diagnosed by a doctor, but that was only after they had to be taken to a hospital. Yakko had to self-diagnose his lactose intolerance and many suspect Dot of having some sort of issue with her immune system.

I'm rambling about the Warners and Scratchy again
Okay so in issue #7 of the Animaniacs comics the Warners wanted to look at an executive board meeting, got carried away, Scratchy got in trouble over it because he was meant to stop them, and Dr. Scratchansniff ends up going insane:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Look at how they watch the van leave. They're literally making this face: 🥺
Poor things miss Scratchy already!
A new psychiatrist is hired, and based on the unimpressed looks on their faces they clearly want Scratchy back, even before it turns out the new guy is insanely strict (and also insane in general as the end of the story reveals).
So of course after a series of zany shenanigans the Warners do their thing and set things right by getting Scratchy back.
Tumblr media
It's sweet (even if it's kind of in a twisted way considering they lowkey kinda guilt trip him by turning on the waterworks 😅) that even after they got him sent to a psychiatric hospital, he still misses them. This comic released in November 1995, so considering how their relationship in the show had developed by season 3 it makes sense.
I just like what this story says about the Warners' characters. Sure, when they're tormenting "special friends" they know they're being annoying. Even when they aren't and they're just interacting with people, they know that they're annoying a lot of the time, they embrace that. What others may view as annoying, they see as fun. But that's just it, they do what they do to have fun, they're snarky but not genuinely malicious (when unprovoked, at least). Just chaotic, playful and extremely boisterous, sometimes to the point that they get carried away, and that can lead to unintended consequences. This happens in the show sometimes (like in "Schnitzelbank" or "Fair Game"), but it's nice to see that aspect of their characters not 100% played for laughs.
Their actions had serious consequences that negatively impacted themselves and someone they care about. There's no punchline at the end of the story where they drive Scratchy insane all over again or anything like that, they're genuinely nice to him for the rest of the issue because (possibly purposeful pouring puppy peepers aside) they were genuinely remorseful about what they did. They're smart kids, but still kids at the end of the day, who sometimes find it hard to control themselves. This story reflects that aspect of their characters well, all the while scratch-ing (ha) that "Scratchy is the Warners' dad" itch in my brain.

For anyone who’s tuned into The Pitt on Max, it doesn’t take long to realize that Noah Wyle‘s Dr. Michael Robinavitch is having a very bad day.
In a press conference with reporters Thursday, Wyle joined fellow executive producers John Wells and R. Scott Gemmill, as well as most of the cast, to talk about the series that remains in the Top 5 of Max’s most watched originals, both globally and domestically. Since he’s playing another harried emergency room doctor like he did for many years on NBC’s ER, Wyle was asked if he finds himself consciously trying to avoid any similarities to Dr. John Carter.
“This is a totally different acting exercise,” said Wyle. “This is building a pressure cooker hour by hour, degree by degree, ingredient by ingredient, playing with levels of fatigue and the inability to compartmentalize things that need to be compartmentalized. This has been a wonderful sort of psychological examination of one guy having one of the worst days of his life. The presence required in just that exercise, I haven’t even thought about similarities or differences [to ER].”
Thursday’s press conference on the Warner Bros. soundstage where The Pitt shoots came hours after a Los Angeles Superior Court judge issued a “soft tentative” against Warner Bros, which tried to block a lawsuit by Michael Crichton’s widow claiming The Pitt is an updated version of ER. Wyle and Wells didn’t comment about the court outcome; rather, they spent time touting the unique features about their series and how it can be wish fulfillment for people who’ve had negative experiences in an emergency room.
“We’re all concerned about what happens to us. We all have to intersect with the medical world and we’ve all done it with our own families,” Wells told reporters. “There’s a feeling of wanting to know what actually is going to happen. It allows us, in advance, to kind of live out our concerns. You want to see people like these wonderful characters that Scott has created and Noah is playing. You want these people to be the people you get in the emergency room, who are actually going to take care of you and your family. I think people really want to have that experience.”
For those who haven’t tuned in, each episode of The Pitt is set up as one hour in the day of life of a Pittsburgh hospital, so by the time the 10-episode first season has been completed, viewers will have experienced an entire shift in the ER. The cameras rarely leave the unit, except to maybe capture what’s happening outside where the ambulances arrive.
“The thing that makes the emergency department unique is that time is of the essence,” said Gemmill. “Time is such an important role in the ER. So trying to capture what it’s like to be in the emergency department, that’s the best way that we could come up with in terms of really being in there … The average ER doctor gets pulled away every two or three minutes to something else. So it was really the best way for us to capture that real visceral feeling of being there.”
One of the notable aspects of The Pitt is how the writers don’t rely on a soundtrack to jack up the intensity of a scene.
“I knew it could be done because I did at least one or two episodes of ER when I didn’t use any music, no score whatsoever,” said Gemmill, who was an EP on the NBC drama from 1999 to 2007. “You just have to write it in a certain way, and trust that your scenes and your actors are going to be emotional. You’re going to get that from what you’re seeing, with not having to be told how to feel. Or you know, whether it’s a funny moment. I mean, trust me, I’ve had shows where I begged the composer to save a scene, to please make this better. But I think, if you’re honest, and because of what it is in the ER, there’s no music when you get bad news. Nobody’s in there with violins. That makes it more real. As soon as you put a score underneath it, it pushes you back in the chair. Now you’re watching something that not as real. I think having the lack of score has a huge impact on the reality of what you are trying to get.”
