Wyll being a terrible monster hunter is something that is so special actually. told to hunt heartless devil? immediately convinced of her goodness and humanity and without hesitation agrees to defy the devil who has his soul in custody and spare karlach at tremendous personal physical cost. vampire in camp? well hes handsome and funny and pretty polite about where he puts his teeth so it’s fine all things considered. finding out the person who ritualistically disemboweled a tiefling in front of him is a bhaalspawn like an unholy progeny of the god of murder that is culturally immediately reviled? no that’s his friend and he completely trusts in their ability to fight their nature with their own inner light. it doesn’t matter that they created the absolute they’re not that person anymore. Why do we have such fewer "Halloween Core" movies? When I say Halloween movies I don't mean every other scary movie out there. No! I'm talking about a movie that shows Halloween being celebrated. Streets and houses with spooky decorations. Kids running for trick-or-treats. Some friend gang trying to bust into a haunted house on the night of Halloween. Show me this!

Show me a movie where the frames have a bunch of jack-o-lanterns every 5 seconds.

Show me people dressed up as anything and everything - Batman, Pac-Man, werewolf, anything.

Anything but some cheap slasher thriller that has 90% of the movie shot in the dark.

I'm not saying we don't have Halloween core movies at all, but not as many as they should be.

There needs to be more!

I mean look at Christmas movies.

Any random movie cannot be termed as a Christmas movie. Christmas movies are where Christmas is celebrated. There's drama, there's a feel-good vibe, there's romance, there's snow and pretty lights and Santa's and Christmas trees and families and kids- that's the whole vibe of a Christmas movie. And we have so many of them(too many to be honest).

A simple romcom cannot be termed as a Christmas movie. The same way a simple horror movie cannot be a Halloween movie. No. Give me Halloween core. More of it. Please!!

So. I share a name with many historical monarchs, and the results were fairly predictable. I'll skip that.

So weird little 'I wish fan percetion had never accidentally slipped my way before reaching it in story' things but I swear if I didn't have the fandom concept of Orpheus = good I would have never come to that conclusion even after the one time I saved him

So with Lae'zel's scenes around leaving Vlakith being as strong as they are, when at the top of act 3 Lae'zel changes her alliegence with the same dogmatic devotion, it felt like a character regretion she should move past. Not just hav picked the correct godlike monach this time.

And then just..the way he acts when released, compared to the way he's talked up the entire game, sure he'll help fight the elder brain, but that was one of the few times it really did feel like a bait and switch and like the game did actually manage to trick me with. except that wasn't the point, the build up was sincere I just have fundemental disagreements with the writers in some core personal level it feels at times.

I don't know if I'd be better or worse about this when vaguing someone or orther on this again and again if I went in with or without knowing what the fandom and uiltimately larian outside the game want you to feel.

If Osiris WASNT rezzed as a warlock, do you think he'd be a

Hunter, because of his disregard for rules (or the speakers rules at least lmfao)

Or a Titan because of his innate desire to protect?

I actually can't imagine Osiris as anything other than a Warlock, tbh! The main reason for this isn't because of his personality, or how he interacts with the world around him, but moreso because of how he tapped into (or used to tap into) his Light. I can't remember if we ever get much lore on how binding classes are, but for me I personally interpret them as how an individual weilds their Light over most everything else, with other traits correlated with it falling into common patterns. Hunters are those who are wild to the core and use their Light as an instinctual reaction to the world around them, Titans weild theirs like a tool or a weapon, to be drawn and used as necessary, and Warlocks have an innate urge to understand it, refine it through study, and then use it as a lens to which they can understand everything else. These different ways of tapping into the Light tend to be used by different types of people, leading to the specific stereotypes about each class, but that's a secondary effect

Which is basically a long way of saying that Osiris is way too civilized to be a Hunter and far too detail-oriented to be a Titan XD He's the quintessential warlock in that he used his Light (and now the Darkness, via Strand) as a means to which he could understand the secrets of the universe, which he in turn used to fight his foes just as much as he used the Light itself. Even with Strand, he had to study it extensively first before tapping into it, and then he went right into trying to learn everything he could about it- compare that to the Hunter from that one loretab where they use Strand to leap off buildings and swing through the air and revel in the feeling of being alive and free, not thinking so much about what it was as much as how it felt to use it. It's not about Osiris being free-willed or protective as much as it is about how he interacts with paracausal powers
