fuck i got walnut stains on my foot
#ghosts rambles#i freaked out for a sec cus ermm.. why are there brown stains on my toe. what#turns out there was a walnut tree and i stepped on walnuts which dyed my toe (i was not wearing shoes But i was wearing socks...)#<- my feet tend to hurt from a lot of walking/exercise so i run without shoes sometimes to help the soreness#not serious ^-^ itll fade in a few weeks

mom and i found a bunch of walnut trees near the river so that’s exciting for fall we get to have walnuts my favourite nut. also check this out when u put bleach on the otherwise yellow stain that unripe nuts have it turns red isn’t that wild
#my mom loves taking walks around the neighbourhood and every time i go with her we go to the river and we find new stuff#last time we ate mulberries off the tree :)#i love teaching her about nature and foraging its so fun#im pretty sure these r eastern black walnuts but i dunno for sure#i remember when we lived in the country we had a big tree in our backyard and it would stain everything red/brown when the nuts fell#i love natural dyes sooo much i need to get into that stuff fr. its soo much work tho#flora and fauna#there isnt really any point to this post im just having fun and hanging out. chatting

this is so fucking random but recently i've been thinking about a potential callback to the walnut being too porous thing, since the teleportation rune they had set up will take them to the very same place where that phrase originated all those weeks ago..
