So last Monday, I posted this little thing. Of course I took the week and went and wrote the rest of said thing. It's complete and all posted now!

It’s just after midnight and Buck is going to bed. He’s been saying this for a couple hours but YouTube had too many Am I the A-Hole videos and Instagram had those gorgeously, if deceptively edited food recipe posts and he doesn’t even want to talk about the doomscrolling of TikTok.

His phone goes off with a call five seconds after he lies down. A number he doesn’t know. So he could ignore it. Or wait until they’ve left a message. But who would call at this hour for no reason? Or for scamming, telemarketing reasons? Long story short, he answers.

“Buckley?” The man on the other end says. He sounds vaguely familiar but not enough that Buck came put a name or face with a voice.

“Uh, yeah? Who is this?”

“Mehta. Captain Mehta. Of the 133.”

“Oh, hey,” Buck says, automatically friendly and smiling. That makes sense now. “What’s up? Why the— why are you calling?” Why would he call in the middle of the night?

*My Spanish italki teacher gave me some good advice for studying using podcasts that I can't wait to try out. She said it'll be useful for our next lesson so I can come prepared with something to speak about. Not to sure how I feel about continuing lessons with her but I'll give it a couple more tries and see how it goes. I do like her, but I don't know if it'll be the out helpful with the way she runs our lessons.

I will start posting monthly goals for my languages starting in August! I think it'll help me guide my studies a bit and help me check my progress.

After I entered my apartment, I set down all my belongings and called in some takeout. While I wait, I decide to start my nighttime routine. I pull out my phone to record a "get unready with me" video. After finishing the video and posting it, I take a quick shower. When I check my phone after the shower, I see that my food was left at my door. I also noticed that Choso messaged me back. I quickly respond to his message, put on my robe, and run to get my food. I grab the food and set it on my counter while I change into some more comfy clothes.

While I change I continue messaging Choso, I get settled with my food and laptop. Choso wanted to call since he's not good with texting. I open my laptop to start editing and studying for my test on Monday. My phone starts to ring and I see that it's him.

“Hi there!’ I say while stuffing a dumpling in my mouth. 

He laughs looking at me stuffing my face. “Hey! If I knew you were eating I wouldn't have disturbed you.”

“Oh no, you're fine I’m always eating something plus I wanted to continue talking to you.” We laugh in unison. 

“Would you like to watch this show with me I cannot eat without watching something?” I ask. He nods.

We decided to watch the first episode of Blue Exorcist. “You know I would've never guessed this to be the type of anime you liked.” He says. I gasp. “What? What kind do I look like I like?” I laugh. “I took you as a romance or slice-of-life type of girl.” He smiles. “I mean I do like those too but I love me a good action anime.” I smile. 

Halfway through the second episode, I start getting full so I put my leftovers in the fridge. “I’m back!” I say. “Welcome back!” He exclaims. “Let's finish this episode then do something else,” I say. “Deal.” Once the episode finishes he cuts the screenshare. “I got questions for you.” He says. “Okay go ahead.” I smile.

“So how do you juggle college and doing content?” He asked. “Well it's not easy but it's not too bad, I do all my big content stuff on the weekends like YouTube videos and events but like TikTok videos, I do whenever because you know its a 15-second video,” I say truthfully. He nods. “Plus I only have two classes that are in person all the rest are online!” I exclaim. “I see I just think it's so cool to see you doing both because I know so many influencers that were in college and once they got big they left school to pursue content creation you know.” He says. “Yeah, I know that social media isn't forever so even if I lose my fame I know I will have my degree to fall back on.” I nod. He nods. “Well, now I have a question for you.” “What's up?” He asks.

“How do you handle being the sole provider for your brother while also doing content?” I inquire. He sighs. “Well he’s 16 and has his little job now so it's not much to handle now really but before he got a job it was a lot because I had to leave school to take care of him and any person would be pissed about that but I wasn’t I knew what I had to do as the oldest.” He says honestly. “You're a good person Choso I hope you know that.” She says softly. He smiles. “I try to be a person Yuji can be proud of.” He smiles. “You’re doing a great job so far if I was him I would brag about my big brother being the best.” I smile. He laughs. “I love how down to earth you are with the field we’re in a lot of people we meet are fucking posers.” He laughs. “Oh most definitely.” She laughs along with him.

They talk into the early morning without even noticing. “Oh damn, it's almost 4 am I didn't even realize.” He yawns. “Oh my gosh really?” I say surprised. “Hey when are you free this week so I can see you, we can go get some food or something?” He asked which causes you to smile. “If you want to go get something later today we can,” I say. “That's perfect!” He smiles. “Okay then it's settled we can go around 3 so we can both get enough sleep,” I say. “Perfect, well I'm going to get off the phone now have a good sleep.” He yawns. “You as well!” I yawn. We end the call and I instantly fall asleep on the couch.

Fans wouldn't feel alienated enough that they can't continue watching and are now finding other creators with similar content. The comment section would have alternative suggestions, mentioning patreon and that many fans didn't even know they had a patreon, so they should push for that more, etc.

One poll could have saved everyone a lot of time, energy, and grief.

long post ahead. i wanted to respond to some of the things i've seen people saying about the watcher situation. i honestly just needed to get some of this stuff off my chest lmao.

"sorry, the bridge has been burnt and i can no longer support watcher" - valid.

"i'm happy with this compromise and will continue to watch their content" - valid.

"oh so they apologise, change nothing, and now people are happy to give them money?" - things have changed. they compromised and completely changed their plan for the new website. did you not watch the update video? they're also issuing refunds to anyone who wants one.

"i bet people who over-reacted feel real stupid now!" - some people over-reacted, but a lot of people had valid criticisms and concerns. they shouldn't feel stupid if they expressed it in a non-abusive way.

"yay, we successfully bullied them into changing their minds!" - you're ... you're proud that you bullied someone? this isn't fucking elon musk or jeff bezos. these guys aren't multibillionaires exploiting their employees. these are three youtubers who want to pay themselves and their employees a living wage, while making content they're proud of, and they made a simple fucking mistake. stop throwing around the term 'eat the rich' as though it applies here.

"the apology video is clearly PR!" - yes, watcher is a business. this is how a business responds to situations like this. they had abuse hurled at them for 48 hours straight, they shouldn't feel bad for wanting to make sure everything said in the video was 100% agreed upon and analysed beforehand.

"steven was clearly the one behind this, he should be fired or step down!" - was he? do you know that for a fact? cause from what i saw, all three of them got in front of the camera and made the announcement video together. i agree that he should step down as CEO, but only because they clearly need someone who has actual business experience leading them (if you remember, ryan and shane stepped down a while ago because they didn't want to deal with that side of the company anymore - in the same video, they thanked steven for being the sole reason watcher was still going).

"they shouldn't have been silent the whole weekend" - maybe so, but it's clear they went into lockdown/crisis mode. also, businesses aren't open on weekends. i think it's fair that they waited until monday and took their time with it. maybe they should have tweeted something like "we're sorry and we're working on an explanation", but that just would have given people another place to attack them.

"you're all being parasocial" - i've seen this used against both people who are supporting/giving the team the benefit of the doubt, and people who are against everything. a lot of people (myself included) have used this experience to realise they were developing/had developed a parasocial relationship with these men. this is a good thing - it allows us to recognise these things and make changes within ourselves.

i think generally people are more parasocial towards youtubers than celebrities in films and tv shows. YT feels like there is a barrier removed between the creators and us; it makes us feel like we know these people in a way that we don't know actors who are always playing different roles. YT makes it easier to believe we're seeing the real people, when we really don't know them at all.

"why should i pay someone who owns a tesla?" - you don't have to. also, steven has been working consistently for years. it doesn't surprise me that he has enough savings for an expensive car. people are allowed to own things that you and i can't afford.

"they're embarrassed to be youtubers" - might be true, who knows. but for me it feels more like they want to be taken seriously as filmmakers/television producers, and don't feel like they can do that on YT.

"there's clearly money mismanagement going on" - i think this is likely. i personally don't know what it's like to run a business like this, which is why i've been watching videos from other youtubers who do. since they're saying they don't know where the funds are going, i'm inclined to believe watcher's budget is way off what it should be.

"why didn't they initially say they were having money troubles and might close doors?" - i can see both sides of this. i believe they should have recognised that their audience would have been more receptive to this kind of honesty. however, if you're asking people to give you money, while also saying the venture might not work out, it doesn't engender a great deal of trust. why should i pay for a 12 month sub if it's possible watcher will fold in 6? who will be around to issue me a refund then?

"we were happy with blue and yellow text on a screen!" - valid, but it's clear that they weren't. they clearly want to push themselves further creatively. on the other hand, it definitely feels like they got impatient and wanted that future creation to start now, when they don't have the funds for it. they shouldn't have tried to force their loyal audience to pay for content the audience didn't ask for.

"i don't want to fund steven, andrew, and adam flying around the world eating expensive food." - very valid. i wonder how different things would have been if this 'Worth It' revival had come around 6 months earlier. it still would have been tone deaf in a global living crisis, but i don't think people would have been this upset. what i don't understand is them doing this show if they genuinely couldn't afford it, which is the implication i got from them announcing it just before announcing the paywall.

"why don't they move their office out of LA?" - that would be incredibly expensive, especially for a company that is struggling financially. they would have to uproot their entire lives, and would probably lose a great number of their staff who don't want to/can't move. they would have to completely start over, which is something i imagine they're desperately trying to avoid.

i think the cancel culture that has grown in popularity over the internet over the last few years has led people to believe that:

they can say whatever they want online with no consequences.

people aren't allowed to make a single mistake, and should understand that when they do, it's okay to for others to spew hate and awfulness towards them.

I started summer classes and joined accountanting immediately dropped it lol I just wanted something fun and easy for the summer semester because I need extra credits but when I saw the homework and all the work I was like yeahhhh no lol. The professor seemed a bit mean too. I dropped it quickly and chose marketing but the issue now is because I joined the class last minute the professor put in a withdrawal form because I had not attended previous classes so now I need to email the professor and get it withdrawn if I can take eight credits during the winter semester I would love to instead of taking any classes this summer semester.

I’ve been in a much better mindset I am so happyyy this summer has been so fun so far and I’ve just been going with the flow and doing things that make me uncomfortable that are for my betterment. My friend and I have been swiping things off of our bucket list and I'm excited forrr the rest of this summer<33333.

I posted my blog post on “improving your relationship with food and movement.” I’ve been working on my relationship with food and movement and on this journey, it is hard at times and that's okay. I have days when I want to go back into bad habits but this week I’ve been able to push myself from doing so. I was able to go out this past week and order foods I like and not force myself to eat a salad(I love salads but you get what I mean). I enjoyed my meals and practiced moderation while outside. I've created meal plans for me to follow they have helped me get my protein higher. My body is transforming I recently took a video and was shocked by the changes in my body since march I love it and can't wait to see it by the end of the year<333.

I filmed my YouTube video this week and It was so much funnnn<3333 but I have to refilm the video Monday because I missed a few important points in the video. Hello! I think the official youtube channel will be releasing one episode every friday, and my friends and i will be working on the english subs to try and release those soon after!

If you are not caught up at all on season 2, I would recommend waiting to watch them as they release on the official youtube and/or with the subtitles on this website to support the series through official means! The subtitle site puts subs over the embedded YT videos, so they retain all views and ad revenue.

Any other official options are through korean-only subscription services, or with an iQiyi subscription if you're ok with the chinese version (Chinese subtitles only, up to episode 13 currently.)

Lastly, new episodes are live broadcasts every monday at 5:45pm EST on EBS , and some reruns are spread throughout the week (you can check the TV guide at the top right.)

A knock on your door, has you up and headed for the door. There's only three people that can come up without the front desk alerting you. One of which is here and the other was out of town. Your face set into a scowl and your nose wrinkled as you opened the door to see Maya.

She needed to tighten up and give you the same energy you gave her when it came to her career, the spotlight and the many people lusting after her.

"You have a beautiful accent." Nessa compliments and you thank her. "You recently signed on to Udaku Records and have been teasing a song. Idg1f. Can you tell us what inspired the song?"

"Well I had the lyrics in my head and a little melody. I've had so many people come at me crazy because I was in a very public relationship almost 2 years ago. I've said before and I'll stand on it, I love money and anyone who wants to give me money can definitely do it. "We all saw Drake and Chris in your comments. How do you feel about that?" Nessa questions.

"No disrespect to Drake but he's too corny for me personally. I can't get with his antics and as far as Chris, well he knows what's up. That's it." You lick your lips.

"Rihanna was also in your comments, giving you a stamp of approval." Nessa continues. "What do you think of that?"

"As I said before, I have the utmost respect for Rihanna. She's an icon, I look up to her. She's paved the way for Caribbean girls and I can only hope that I make her proud." You felt conflicted because while you grew up liking Rihanna, you knew she could be very shady. She'd never spoke on you before besides saying you were a non factor when asked in an interview when you and Chris were dating.

The rest of the interview goes pretty smooth. Towards the end as Nessa's closing out her producer comes over and shows her something on his phone. Nessa looks from the phone to you before nodding at whatever the producer says. He walks off camera and Nessa looks at you again.

"So what do you have to say about Maya posting you on her social media?" Nessa inquires and you stare at her in shock .

"We're cool, so--"

On the screen in between Nessa and I on the wall is Maya's latest post and you blink as you see it.

You had finished the rest of your interviews in autopilot. Your energy was faked, you felt betrayed by Maya. This wasn't the actions of someone who cared about you, this was a calculated move that you were sure was brought on by her label and manager.

All the time spent hiding and keeping you a dirty secret just for her to out your relationship the moment you were finally getting attention on you for the right reasons was sickening. You'd never pressured her or argued when she chose to follow her label and manager's decision to keep your relationship quiet.

You were supportive and you put her career and goals first. Any other time this would have been what you wanted but right now you felt used and like a prop. You blocked her number and blocked her on all your social media's, not caring to hear what she had to say.

Over and over she'd shown time and time again you were not on the list of her priorities. You could argue away most of her bad habits and bad ways but this. There was no excusing this. You couldn't defend it because there was nothing that she could say that would make you feel even remotely ok about any of this.

Today was your photoshoot and you were numbing yourself to the hurt you felt. All the excitement dying down at things that should have been making you happy. You'd never dreamed of being in the position you were in and your joy was being stolen.

"What do you think about this, Jay?" Shuri asks as you, Riri and N'Jadaka are looking over the edits. The picture they all seemed to settle on was sexy yet cutesy. You had a huge bouquet in your arms, while posing in the gold sparkly dress Azura had helped you pick. Your tattoos were showcased in a very peekaboo way whilst the rest of your body was covered.

"It looks good." You agree, your tone giving off a 'whatever' kind of vibe.

"Alright, we'll use it as the cover to idg1f." N'Jadaka says. "It really matches the vibe of the song. Gotta give it to you Shuri, your vision is immaculate."

"It's all dependent on the artist." Shuri shrugged, looking at you with a small smile. You returned it though your smile didn't meet your eyes.

"You've been working your ass off ma." Riri agrees, looking from Shuri to you. "You've been locked in ever since the first day in the studio."

"You hungry, Ma?" Riri inquires, she knew you weren't feeling like yourself. She and Shuri talked amongst themselves about taking you out to cheer you up.

"Alright, why don't you get changed and we'll take you out. You deserve to be celebrated. You've signed to our label, your about to release a single that millions are anticipating and you've been kept busy this whole week with promo shit." Shuri asserts, licking her lip. "Pick whatever outfit you want."

Shuri and Riri took you shopping to celebrate your newest achievements, before finally taking you to dinner. You'd had the wig taken off your head, and was wearing your hair out in a wavy silk press. Makeup free and natural, save for lipgloss and your lash extensions.

You posted the video Riri recorded of you walking, and twirling and posing to the lyrics of your song that you knew would hit Maya deep in the gut. You put the lyrics in the caption before using the hashtag single to make a statement as you had no interest in her, her label or her manager using you.

You put your phone on DND, as you ate your sushi and pasta. Throughout the dinner, the conversation was light. You all exchanged information about yourselves, favorite colors, music, artists, hobbies, goals, etc.

You found out that Shuri could play several instruments, and write her own music. The latter wasn't a shock as she had tons of writing credits. She wrote songs on the daily just by living and watching, she was beyond talented.

Riri could play the electric guitar, and was amazing at putting together beats. She could hear music in her head as she went about her day, and was always recording a melody that she had stuck in her head. You could see similarities in yourself and the both of them.

"What made you want to co-head the label?" You ask Shuri. Her family's music business venture was years old but you saw a significant change once she and N'Jadaka stepped up to be the new faces of the label.

Riri and Shuri shared a look, before Shuri looked at you. Her jaw was clenched and her body was tense. You could tell there was something there.

"Riri and I are together but at one point we had a third." Shuri explains which is no surprise to you. You figured they were together, everyone speculated but they had never confirmed. "Destiny's an artist on the label, I was only into producing when we got together but when I seen just how shitty a lot of artist's deals were, including hers... I chose to do something about it, it was shortly after my father and brother died that I pushed for N'Jadaka to head the label while I worked beside him. We worked to give our artists better deals than they'd previously had, whilst working to ensure the company was still making money."

"I worked tirelessly to give Destiny everything she wanted, because I saw how stressed she was not having creative control and being forced into the bullshit the label pushed on her. My father and T'Challa agreed that our relationship should be kept quiet as Destiny was a sex symbol and was more profitable and marketable as a single straight woman." Shuri rolls her eyes.

"After the accident, I finally had the chance to change the direction of the company to what I'd had in mind. However, I soon realized Destiny was only using Riri and I. The moment she had a better contract, she left us to be the industry mattress." Shuri laughs to herself.

"Why aren't you and Riri public now?" You ask, curious. They no longer had a reason to keep their relationship silent.

"No, we are not." You shrug, rolling your eyes at the mention of the girl. Azura was right, and you saw that clear as day.

"So, you're a free agent." Shuri watches you through hooded eyes, as she sips on her bourbon.

"Why do you want to know?" You look at her with a wide smile on your face daring her to be bold.

"Just want confirmation that you're free before we have you coming all night. Not that you being in a relationship would have stopped the pursuit." Shuri's lips turn up as she watches your body flush at her words.

"Definitely not." Riri denies, as she waves over the waiter to clear the table and bring the check.

I let myself down to lift you up. If I'm being honest I overlooked the shitty things you'd do or say because I was that in love with you. But love should never feel like that, at least not the love I want. You're a good person, I genuinely believe that but you just aren't good enough for me. I deserve more, I deserve better. You've said sorry just about almost every day we've been together and yet you continue doing the same stuff you know hurt me. I'm putting myself first for once, and if that makes me a whore or selfish, or anything you want to call me that's fine because I've come to terms with the fact we aren't right for each other."

"Don't do this, Jay... I'll be better, I promise." Maya's face was pale as she cried. You felt embarrassed for her as everyone in the outside area was staring, cameras were flashing and you knew people were recording.

"I'll text you later." You sighed, before grabbing your purse and walking towards Maya. You wipe her tears and grab her hand, leading her away from the attention and cameras.

Apparently Riley was said to be at her most comfortable during the last stop for the book tour last night. Possibly due to having Taylor Jenkins Reid as the moderator, who she seems to trust the opinon of. There were a lot of jokes, a fun Q&A, and Riley even read a few passages from the book. I hope someone posts a video of the entire event soon.

🕒 10:00 a.m. - so i planned on waking up at 4 BUT my alarm clock literally stopped working so when i actually woke up and saw the time i was fully ready to break down into a sobbing mess (but i didn't, somehow). i'd been feeling sorta shitty since yesterday and that was sort of the last straw. i don't actually have any pressing deadlines and such but i told myself i would stick to my plans so i will stick to them. i want to complete everything i planned to this weekend so that i don't have to interfere with the meticulous plans i made that start from monday.

applied hairoil (haven't done it in few months but i want to get into the habit of applying it at least once a week)

took headbath (my parents had gone grocery shopping and they had to wait like 20 mins outside the door because they hadn't taken the keys as i would be home lmao)

We had to say goodbye to my cat, Ebi, Wednesday morning.

Over the past few months she started losing her muscle mass. Last week she started struggling with simple jumps, then she started falling while trying to make them. A few weeks before that, she started getting really clingy and talkative. More so than usual.

I took her to the vet last week and they gave her meds. Imminently after the vet trip, her back legs started giving her trouble. Tuesday morning she fell while getting out of the litter box. It has a side opening that is low to the ground because her sister has arthritis. Thankfully when this happened I was in the room next to her and heard her quiet meow for help up.

The past two weeks I was picking her up to let her on an off the bed because she couldn't jump onto the step stool (she fell off it twice before she gave up). I was leaving her favorite blanket on the floor so she could nest while I was at work. When I wasn't home, she was cuddling with my mom.

Tuesday, I messaged mom while I was at work, asking her how Ebi was doing. She said she was curled up on the blanket and hadn't bothered her much since dinner (she used to beg for human food. my mom has footage of her rolling peas into her mouth with her paw. yes you read that right). When I got home, she was loafing(crouching while laying down - often cats look like a loaf of bread while doing this hence the descriptor) on the blanket. I got ready for bed as quickly as possible. She got up and took a few steps off the blanket, giving a little meow with each one as if it was hurting her.

I picked her up quickly, got her onto the bed, grabbed the blanket and laid down. She took a step and gave another little meow before she gave up and flopped down. She curled up beside me and ended up face planting my pillow. The night before (Monday) she had slept in a similar position and pawed at my keyboard twice, grumbling that the YouTube video I had playing was to loud.

I think this might be the triggering part? maybe? I'm not sure. but you've been warned.

I woke up a little after six thirty Wednesday which is early for me on a work night cos I work late closing shifts. She was twitching slightly, which she has done before when she's deeply asleep and dreaming. I thought that was what was happening. Then she kept twitching. I texted my mom that something might be wrong. Then I realized she wasn't breathing right. Her heart rate felt funny. She wasn't responding. I went and woke mom up and we got Ebi to the emergency vet as quickly as possible.

Now I don't know if I've ever mentioned on here how much I hate my mom's car? But being in the passenger seat, speeding down the highway, without a seatbelt on, while holding your cat wrapped up in a blanket, fucking horrifying while crying and fighting off a panic attack. I don't really want to talk about the rest but I will say the fish in the lobby were fucking weird as shit.

They weren't able to draw enough blood to do any tests and her body temperature was dangerously low, but from what the vet said she most likely had a seizure. If she had woken up she most likely would have had neurological damage.

In the end, it was best to let her go. She was 15 in human years. That's 76 in cat years. I had already accepted when she started getting skinny that if it was time, then it was time. Her brother did the same thing towards the end... but waking up to her like that beside me? Coming home to her waiting for me in a crouch so she could get up easier?

I think the only reason I slept that night was because I was so emotionally exhausted. I turned a night light on for the first time in years. I haven't been able to sleep at all tonight (Thursday. Now Friday I guess. Gods do I have a headache). I don't think I would have made this post if I hadn't been doom scrolling...

So, short update. We are in final episodes of the summer rewatch before kidlings go back to school on Monday. Watching with the niece, nephew, and mom-mom and we are at the Chunin exams (still!).

Observations:

Mom-mom thought Neji was a girl - “why are those two little girls fighting?!”

Mom-mom still keeps asking about why Kakashi wears a mask. Showed her the video game pics of what he looks like without one. “Oh he’s a cutie! He looks like he’s 16 or 17! He looks like a child, himself! No wonder he wears that mask. His voice doesn’t match his face without the mask; with it on he sounds like a grown man but without the mask he looks like a teenage boy.” Kids agreed.

EVERYBODY loves Rock Lee. Who doesn’t? Kids and mom-mom were sad he got hurt. Did tell them he gets better, but they have to wait.

Niece and nephew are feeling some kind of way because of the lack of Sasuke in their final episodes before school, but they will be all right lol

Kids are convinced Kishimoto can’t write females.

Niece loves the music. Nephew has gotten his Naruto knowledge from YouTube shorts (the child needs help).

Trying to make it work for them to be able to watch on weekends. Will keep you posted!
