i said this earlier but pretty fuckin funny that they've just been slowly shedding the "final" marketing the past few months while advertising this "next step" event and now after the announcement it isn't anywhere on their twt page

i mean i still wish they hadnt done the 2 movie thing in the first place ESPECIALLY calling them "final" and creating a persistent cloud of doom over me since then. but quietly getting rid of it while also promo-ing MORE than just another movie is the best we could have gotten at this point imo. makes me immensely more hopeful that the rest of the manga will at least be adapted

The amount of people who genuinely believe that Hinata and Hoshiumi hate each other is so baffling to me because Hoshiumi literally says that he and Hinata will take on the whole world together.

Of course, this is not the only line that debunks the claim that their relationship is built on some degree of genuine animosity, but... this panel in particular sums up exactly what type of dynamic these two have. No, they don't hate each other or see each other as threats to their way to the top. The Kamomedai and Karasuno match entails Hoshiumi in particular realising that just because he and Hinata are both short players in a sport where being short is considered disadvantageous, does not mean that they're the same or that they have similar playing styles. Additionally, when Hinata finally embraces his role as "The Greatest Decoy" (thereby embracing his own distinct playing style), Hoshiumi acknowledges that the existence of one style does not negate the presence of another.

There's enough room on the court for both he and Hinata!!! There's enough room on the court for both of their playing styles to flourish!!! Hoshiumi doesn't really consider Hinata a rival because he isn't a hurdle he must overcome on his way to the top!!! They'll make it to the top together!!! They'll take on the whole world together!!! They'll continue to defy those odds alongside each other because there's enough space at the top for both "The Little Giant" and "The Greatest Decoy"!!!

I caved and decided yk what... dragon Ares au. -> Dragon AU lore-dump

Slightly different story? but its like mostly the same except Ares (and Apollo) were seemingly abandoned eggs found by a squad in the hyrulean army and raised by Artemis(Zelda) and Athena(Impa). Everything dragon-lore-related that I've been (not so subtly) sprinkling is also all the same, including Volga, but the effects of being raised by hylians makes itself clear in Ares and his sister.

The rest of Hyrule Warriors still plays out somewhat similarly except that yk... Ares is a dragon. I mean who wouldn't want to steal a dragon for your own army?

Also since he was raised by hylians who have 0 idea how dragons actually work, especially fire dragons (because of how sparse they are), he probably has no idea he could have a hylian form like Volga.

Oh. Also he knows how to use a sword.

Magical person-eating eels who have their own entire society underneath a particular city that never becomes relevant because they think everyone else is frustrating and terrible, who have exactly one (1) ambassador to interface with the outside world but who decided that everyone else was (still) frustrating and terrible and now works as an assassin for hire instead of doing that and just sends the occasional trade good back home with their stipend;

Pseudo-electricity that works by summoning spirits from outside of the world to come hang out in your batteries

god i really hope kamomedai match gets the attention it deserves from the creative team. i've been telling everyone for years that haikyuu changed the way i think about and live my life and i need them to watch this movie and finally understand why i've been so insane about the cartoon volleyball

I know everyone loves to choose to duel the Arishok because thematically it's great, lots of drama, but I absolutely love what happens if you don't too.

Like getting in a giant brawl with all the qunari vs your friends to protect Isabela (and Kirkwall) is just such a Hawke vibe. It's messy. It's not heroic and perfect. And of course Varric would look at that and decide he needs to make it more dramatic.
