No person should be called illegal.
Everyone, except for the native Americans, are immigrants who came to America, searching for a better life.
In 1885, Donald Trump's grandfather came to the US and was an "illegal" to use Trump's horrific term until 1892. Should we have denied him food and health care?
What people did to the native Americans IS horrific.

Some good news:
Two days ago, Massachusetts signed off on their fiscal budget, which makes community college completely free for all citizens.
"Last year, we created MassReconnect - free community college for students 25 and older - and gave thousands of people another shot at degrees they put on pause... This year, I signed a budget that builds on that success and makes community college free - for everyone." - Gov. Maura Healey

"don't make it political!" .... what proportion of death and suffering must occur before politics are involved. if this isn't political, what is even the point of any politics, ever. of democracy. the words are "by the people for the people." if i am going to be left alone by my elected representatives to "figure it out" - to undergo damage, hardship, fear. what the fuck did i elect them for. what was their job. the entire point is that they handle this shit. this is why we were supposed to be electing leaders.
poverty is political. misogyny is political. gun control is political. climate change is political. how much aid a community gets is political. what the fuck are you talking about. it's been political this whole fucking time.

They called it… they fucking called it
To those who were eligible to vote but refused cuz of Harris- well congratulations! That orange fucker won. Hope you’re happy. Also don’t start bitching when all of our rights starts to get taken away (reproductive rights, LGBTQ rights, etc.) we fucking warned you. We warned you that if you didn’t vote then trump was more likely to win. Also you pulling this stunt- isn’t gonna help Palestine. Y’all claim that you are pro Palestine but after this election- you just proved that you really don’t give a damn about them. So congrats!

the fact that irving canonically survives through the end of asunder to be at wynne's funeral is so fucking funny to me. nothing but love and respect for MY unstoppable cockroach morally grey machiavellian mage dad!!! he's survived in his position through multiple attempted rites of annulment and blood mage plots popping up left right and center around him. the chantry keeps trying to stamp him out but his dodge game is simply out of this world, divine. civil wars, political machinations and minefields, chantry atrocities, this wily old motherfucker is dodging and weaving his way through it all, not-quite-no-hits-taken-running-it-but-honestly-close-enough-under-the-circumstances style. if solas does succeed in tearing down the veil I would fully believe that one of the like three people still alive at the end of it all would be a very weary 90 year old first enchanter irving going 'oh this shit again huh'. the maker has cursed him for his hubris and his paperwork is never finished (affectionate, it's fine he canonically loves paperwork)
#we should have had the option to leave him in the fade instead of hawke or a warden#he would've just annoyedly shuffled his way back out of there a week later#dragon age#dragon age origins#first enchanter irving#he must be SO annoying to the chantry because it's heavily implied he's made his playground#out of tirelessly finding technicalities and loopholes to exploit that they can't *quite* call him on without domino effects going off#I think first enchanter in the circle system at origins times is a position that invariably and inevitably leaves you morally compromised#but I feel he really does his best within the rules he's given to play with and personally i love him a bit for that. and also#for being an unkillable lil shit. insufferable. inconquerable in his 'I'm about to be such an annoyance to you' impish spirit.#the I'm going to suffer but guess what. so are you of it all. traumatize the chantry back#I just imagine sophia sending letters home right before the vote for independence like '...dad I am hearing some INSANE rumours out here#what the actual fuck is going on back home???'#and he's like 'nothing that you need to worry about sweetie just keep living your best life and have fun killing darkspawn <3'#(there's something that makes me feel So much about how consistently his stance is like... 'you'll always be welcome here#but the circle doesn't *need* you; go be a warden and live your life'. he managed to fineagle freedom for you somehow and won't let you#turn and glance back. not even once. I feel somehow both so abandoned and so incredibly loved it's wild)#oc: sophia amell

For everyone boycotting esc this year and being upset that Israel made it to the final: let this be a lesson for any upcomming elections. Boycotting is a great medium of public protest. But if you boycott an election you have to live with what other people vote for.
Well it's all half as bad in this case - you wouldn't believe how little eurovision matters to the average person on the street - but remember this.
If you want yo have a say in the results you have to participate first.

Can someone tell Democrats that leftists and progressives with moral objections are not a big enough contingent to swing an election and if they were, the way to get groups to vote for you is to offer them things they want rather than lib-scold them about voting on social media

I am permanently stepping back from all delusional people (mostly extended family) in my life. I don’t want to debate with them, my energy is better spent elsewhere.
From this point forward I will counter anyone who makes a statement about this traitor’s great character, especially when it’s based on staged events any fool could see are for photo ops only. No way to polish this turd, nope not having it. 💩💩💩💩
OMG, I’m really disappointed with some of the folks, I never wanted to believe they were this stupid. I refuse to pretend it’s ok. Not a matter of politics at this point, it’s a chasm between polar opposite personal values and worldviews.
Time to unleash and amplify the energy from the dawning of the age of Aquarius. It’s real, y’all.

I hope leftists who think they’re above voting for president or are voting for Jill Stein or whoever because it’s their stupid way of protesting the system feel good about themselves, especially if Trump wins partly because of your negligence 😍 I know you’re not doing shit to plan the proletarian revolution, especially before January, so you guys better not complain about something harming you that you didn’t even bother to try and change
(edit: changed the last part bc I wrote “…if life gets a lot worse for you” cause that does nottt sound right at all and I apologize for writing that)

Not to wade into discourse, but the reason why Taylor’s measured tone on the Republican ticket and instead detailing what issues are important to her and why Harris and Walz have earned her vote and prioritizing voter registration efforts are precisely because she has such a huge, influential platform with an audience from so many different walks of life.
There’s no doubt she hates Trump, and it’s even in the subtext of what she’s said in her post, but coming out guns blazing on Trump in an endorsement for the other candidate not only takes away the power of that candidate’s platform, but can turn off uneducated readers who she, like many campaign efforts, are trying to reach. People don’t want to be told who to vote for, but by Taylor saying what issues what matter to her, she’s signaling to voters what issues the candidate stands for too. People want to feel like they’ve drawn their own conclusion vs. being told what to do.
I’m not naive enough to think Taylor can sway an election at all. (And before anyone says it, I know she’s not an activist and I have never claimed she was.) But she’s kind of taking the “trying to gently make a case at Thanksgiving dinner with your blowhard cousin you see once a year with facts instead of taking the bait with their rants” approach with this. It’s not both-siding the candidates or trying to be apolitical or not ruffle feathers. It’s using facts and policies to make a point instead of only raw emotion or opinion. It’s outreach, in its own kind of way.
There will be plenty of time for her to make her thoughts on the Republican ticket known, if she so chooses. (I hope she does, not because I don’t know she hates those two, but because I know she can eviscerate them so eloquently and cuttingly.) But I don’t think this endorsement, on this day, with this kind of spotlight on it, was going to be the platform for it. Obviously she wants the Democrats to win, but she wants people to learn about the issues themselves so they personally understand why these issues are important and make the choice for themselves instead of because of a celebrity telling them to.
