Hey, for my American followers, I am sure you are all aware that the Day of Unpleasant Interactions With Members of Your Extended Family That Recently Voted To Actively Harm You While You All Eat a Large Dead Bird is rapidly approaching.
While I actively encourage all of you to hit da bricks and ignore the “but fAaAaMiLy” guilt trip if you know you’ll be surrounded by hostility, I also recognize that it’s not always a possibility depending on your situation/age/degree of financial independence etc.
Accordingly, if you know you’re in for a certified Bad Time and you want some ammunition to make your it’s-about-the-economy-Drunkle Kevin/i-do-my-own-research-Aunt Karen really fuckin’ reeeeeach for justifications, I think one of the absolute best uses of your day today would be to listen to the four part Behind the Bastards on President Elect Donald J. Trump’s pick to lead Health and Human Services: RFK Jr.
I know, you’ve heard about the brain worm, you know about the Central Park bear cub incident, you probably have heard about his anti-vax stuff, but like… holy goddamn shit, that is just scratching the surface.
Like, wait until you get to the daily acid trips at the decaying livestock carcass pit.
The expedition down the river where he stole all the morphine.
The omnipresent hawk named Morgan Le Fay literally shitting all over everything and everyone he gets near.
The sexual assaults.
The pathological roadkill collection and storage in other people’s fridges.
The direct consequences of his anti-vax shit leading to the death of like 44 people in American Samoa.
Fuck I know I mentioned this before and obviously the preventable deaths and sexual assaults are way worse but HOW HE HUNG OUT AT A PIT OF DECAYING SHEEP AND COW CARCASSES TRIPPING BALLS AND SENDING HIS HAWK TO EAT RATS INSTEAD OF GOING TO SCHOOL.

kos at Daily Kos:
Conservatives' big bet on Robert F. Kennedy Jr. continues to backfire on them.
Last year, Steven Bannon, a former adviser to Donald Trump, encouraged Kennedy to challenge President Joe Biden in the Democratic primary, according to CBS News’ Robert Costa. Bannon reportedly thought Kennedy would create chaos and stoke anti-vaccine sentiment. After his Democratic bid fizzled, Kennedy kicked off an independent run. And the whole time, he was bankrolled by conservative millionaires, who no doubt hoped Kennedy’s family name would cost Biden enough votes in battleground states to hand the 2024 election to Trump. Democratic voters mostly didn’t fall for it, though. Even worse, Kennedy’s QAnon-adjacent conspiracy-theorizing began attracting support on the right, imperiling Trump’s electoral chances. So Trump got Kennedy to drop out and endorse him in late August, promising Kennedy who-knows-what.  But now a slew of womanizing revelations are swirling around Kennedy, causing chaos for Trump. And it’s freakin’ hilarious.
On Wednesday, Mediaite reported that three women claim to have had romantic relationships with Kennedy within the past year. Those three women do not include New York magazine journalist Olivia Nuzzi, whose own alleged affair with the brain-worm-afflicted conspiracist seemingly destroyed her impending marriage and career. Kennedy, it should be said, is himself married to “Curb Your Enthusiasm” actress Cheryl Hines.
RFK Jr. and Donald Trump do have one thing in common: womanizing.

i am going to outlive him. do you understand that? i will outlive this wannabe dictator with soup for brains by so many decades and i will outlive a significant percentage of his supporters too. i will survive his second presidency. however many people he kills, i probably won’t be one of them. however much he destroys american democracy, i’ll be there on the other side far longer than that decrepit, grave-dancing miserable orange flesh bag of a human being. to all the people out there saying “please live” that was never in question. that is a threat and a promise and a realization said with slowly-dawning horror.
i do not believe there exists a Heaven or Hell. i believe that when you die, that is the end, and all the consequences we can experience for how we lived our lives must be carried out right here on Earth. yet i will be the one suffering the fallout of his actions while he will leave it all behind within the decade. a supreme court in an ultra conservative chokehold that has already overturned roe v wade and will come for obergefell v hodges next. the brain worm guy in charge of public health. people who despise education in charge of keeping us ignorant. an infatuation with authoritarianism that’ll turn us against all our real allies and gaza into a smoking crater. total immunity for the guy who wants revenge on half the country. and AMERICA VOTED FOR IT.
if anything i’ve been radicalized further left precisely because i know i will still be here for decades, maybe even a century to come. i will have to deal with all the damage they have wrought on my future. i will have to deal with them as fellow citizens. but i already know that i will not, in all my life, forgive the americans who voted for him in 2024. that is tens of millions of americans, over half the country. that was their choice and yet i am led to believe that they must all be either evil, stupid or crazy. one of those three things must be true for them to have voted the way they did. misinformation? please. we’re all dealing with misinfo and have been for years. am i supposed to treat you like a victim because when it really mattered you couldn’t figure it out? no. i will not forgive, i will not forget. i don’t want to hear any more “i voted for him but then i saw the light.” how can you even look me in the eye when you voted for the guy who wants me and my friends dead? i think america is sick at heart. that is my radical takeaway. there is something truly broken about this country if he only wins the popular vote after everything that has happened since 2015.
like i said. i do not believe in an afterlife. but i hope for their sakes that his God is real. may their God forgive them before sending them to Hell because I never will.

I'm personally very excited that, if the votes stack up right, this Presidential election could be a landmark in U.S. history. Can you imagine? Not only the first successful third-party presidential campaign but also the first agender president! I mean sure, their host is a man, but let's not symbiote shame here. You are valid regardless of whatever gender was assigned to your chosen host. I feel like this will bring such a fresh perspective. And the candidate has a lot of experience with executive leadership. What is a country, if not many parts working together in one body? What is the oval office, if not the brain of this body? I'm casting my vote for President Brain Worm, 2024!

New York Post: "Putting RFK Jr. in charge of health breaks the first rule of medicine. We fear the worm that he claims ate some of his brain some years ago is contagious and there’s been an outbreak at Mar-a-Lago."
By Post Editorial Board Nov. 14, 2024
The overriding rule of medicine is: First, do no harm. We’re certain installing Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to head Health and Human Services breaks this rule.
Maybe he’s sworn to focus narrowly on areas where he clearly can help — inspiring Americans to embrace healthier diets and more exercise, etc.
But . . .
We sat down with RFK Jr. back in May 2023, when he was still challenging President Biden for the Democratic nomination.
As we noted then, he’s an independent thinker who sees through a lot of bull, an incisive critic of some of Biden’s worst policies, who saw that “the Democratic Party lost its way most acutely in reaction to” Donald Trump’s first election.
Autism is soaring due to the 'medicalization of misbehavior'
Trump plans to bring back what Dems lied and called 'Muslim ban' — it's about terrorism
But the insights we were impressed with had nothing to do with health.
When it came to that topic his views were a head-scratching spaghetti of what we can only call warped conspiracy theories, and not just on vaccines.
“Neocons” are responsible for America’s policy ills. “Pesticides, cellphones, ultrasound” could be driving an upswing in Tourette syndrome and peanut allergies.
A radical, prolonged and confused transition ordered by a guy like RFK Jr., who will use his high office to spout his controversial beliefs, leaves a lot of room for things to go wrong, writes The Post Editorial Board.
He told us with full conviction that all America’s chronic health problems began in one year in the 1980s when a dozen bad things happened.
Convincing to the gullible conspiracy-hungry crowd on Twitter, but not to the rest of us.
In fact, we came out thinking he’s nuts on a lot of fronts.
And even where he makes fair points as a critic, it’s hard to see how he’s the guy to lead HHS and its staff of 83,000 to practical solutions.
The relationship between Big Pharma and the feds is deeply dysfunctional, for example — but drug companies do a lot of good, and employ a lot of people.
Sending the industry — or even just its stocks — into a tailspin would be a disaster in its own right.
His views also put him at odds with Trump’s aim of supporting energy and farmers, as RFK Jr. wants to ban fracking and many pesticides and fertilizers.
Look: The HHS chief oversees over 100 programs across 11 operating divisions; keeping the trains running is a major job in its own right.
A radical, prolonged & confused transition ordered by a guy like RFK Jr., who will use his high office to spout his controversial beliefs, leaves a lot of room for things to go wrong — and for people to wind up harmed or even dead.
All that, of course, if the Senate actually confirms RFK Jr., which will be a challenge in its own right: Republicans only have three votes to spare.
Donald Trump won on promises to fix the economy, the border and soaring global disorder; his team needs to focus on delivering change on those fronts — not spend energy either having to defend crackpot theories or trying to control RFK Jr.’s mouth.
We fear the worm that he claims ate some of his brain some years ago is contagious and there’s been an outbreak at Mar-a-Lago.

a political post: despite the hysteria of the last few days and also the last several years, there is no benefit to voting for anyone other than the democratic party. i hate to tell you this. voting democratic down the ballot is our shot for mitigating fascist bullshit.
your fave third party candidate will not win. yes, it's your choice to vote for who you want. but whether you vote green, libertarian, socialist, or independent, that party does not have a shot in hell of winning the election. they have no representation in congress, no marketing, no nothing. the only person running indie in 2024 is robert f. kennedy, and he's as bad as trump.
speaking of trump: if you're still voting for the guy i don't know what to tell you man. you've been eating the brain worms by the spoonful. yes, he got shot. yes, political violence is bad. yes, i know there's a lot to unpack regarding the previous sentence. whatever. trump winning the election - even if democrats take the house and the senate - gives republican think thanks like the heritage foundation the a-ok to carry out their dark work such as project 2025. it allows trump to fill whatever supreme court seats open up (most likely thomas's and breyer's) with conservative-leaning justices, as well as possibly expand the courts to add even more. all of this means the right-wing advocates can once again threaten the rights of all folks who don't fall into their blueprint of the "ideal american": white, middle-class or higher, heterosexual and cisgender, two kids, two gas-guzzling cars, and one job which dad works because mom's taking care of the home.
ok will maybe that's going a little far. lol. lmao even. did you hear harrison butker's commencement speech?
look things haven't been super under biden and the man is making ronald reagan look like a spring chicken, but if you think things are going to get better if trump gets back in the white house you are sorely mistaken. any quarter we give to the republican party at this point threatens millions and millions of americans. it threatens the country's infrastructure. it threatens our financial and mental health. voting for republicans or any other candidate takes a vote away from the party which might get good things done, or at least not tank our entire country due to greed/cruelty/lack of experience.
and yes i know what you're going to say. the democratic party is not supportive of palestine. they support israel and they will let bibi run tanks over gaza and the west bank and put up condos for israeli and american settlers. friend, i want a free palestine as much as you do. the democratic party has people who want this as well. if the democratic party wins the election, there is at least a shred of hope for it. if the republicans win, there is none.
even if biden crosses the rainbow bridge - whether it's before the democratic convention or after election day - harris will take over and it'll be like a 1:1 swap politically. this is a reminder, by the way, that we could have had nikki haley and kamala harris duking it out instead of the same two octogenarians from last time. this could have been an interesting and historic race and instead we're worrying about a) will the current president or the former one or both die of old age, and b) will the republican candidate win and tank our country even harder than he did last time?
voting democratic down ballot is the only way for us and potentially the world to not get royally screwed over the next four to at least forty years. i mean, a lot of other things will also try to screw us no matter what, but we can try to stop those things as well. we can multitask.
by the way this post was not sponsored by the democratic party. this post was sponsored by the willfrominternet.tumblr.com foundation for some god damn air conditioning.
EDIT: i forgot to address people who straight up won't vote in this election. trust me: you're not making the protest point you think you're making, and your apathetic ass will regret it later even if your candidate wins. also a million demons and dukes of hell will haunt you every night
