THIS is how ushijima looks yall (guy in the picture is darlan souza btw). this type of build. i really love the hq fandom but sometimes the non-volleyball players bother me a bit because WHAT DO YOU MEAN THAT MAN IS SHAPED LIKE A LITERAL STICK. EVEN MIDDLE BLOCKERS HAVE MUSCLE. SETTERS TOO like just because they're tall doesn't mean they have 0 fat percentage and 0 muscle??? PLEASSEE IT DOESNT MAKE ANY SENSE!!!!

Oooh I am so tired of the twinkification of haikyuu characterssss Istg if I see one more fanart of Ushijima where he looks like the love interest of a shoujou anime, and is lean/skinny I'm gonna actually scream wth guys he's beefy he's MUSCULAR he is a professional athlete and is like 6"4 I keep seeing fanarts where he has more of Tendou's physique and it bothers me sm like I always see fanart of him and I don't recognize its him cause he's so skinny and I'm like "Who is that? He's wearing the Shiratori- Oh my God, that's not Ushijima, is it????" And then I check the tags, and it is, and I'm like ???? Like, I'm all for drawing characters according to your headcanons, but Ushijima??? Lean??? And I'll go on Pinterest to get ship stuff bc it's less organized and lowkey easier to find stuff since it's just pictures, yk? But I'll look at it, and it's all that weird ass 2000s-2010s artstyle. Take Tsukihina, for example, and Hinata looks like a child. Like Tsukishima is HUGE, and Hinata is TINY!! Their height difference is not that big. And I feel like a lot of it is from comics or doujinshi, and the style just looks like it's from something R rated ykwim???? Like all of it is just helpless baby Hinata 🥺🥺 and his huge tall 'alpha' bf Tsukishima who hates everybody but him. Like they just take random characters and twinkify them; they make them overtly feminine for no reason and it makes me sooo madddd I am sick of fuckin Thumbelina Hinata and Levi Ackerman Ushijima make it stop!!!! Headcanon:

Clover is generally rather athletic and good at sports but balls are just attracted to them for some reason which leads to them being hit every single time they're around one. They don't even have to be playing to be hit, the balls defy gravity looney-toons style to hit them.

Clover can't avoid it no matter how hard they try. That being said, their biggest cause of death no matter the route are the bowling balls attack by Martlet.

some thoughts about f1 volleyball au

setter lando being constantly underestimated because he comes across as unserious, until the moment the whistle blows and he slips into this state of intense concentration… always able to read people whether it’s the other team or his own… making friends with everyone because he’s so good at being what they need (it’s his strength and his weakness)

libero oscar being the steady stable presence to keep the team on track, unflappable and collected and just always always always digging the ball… driving opposing teams insane because they just cannot get the ball to hit the floor… the stability lando needs to try ridiculous sets and plays

oscar being the constant that lando needs to finally just be himself… oscar always having landos back… lando showing off with setters dumps just to make oscar roll his eyes fondly…

The reason I got dragged back into Haikyuu were these bits hitting me back to back in the Dumpster Battle movie. They reminded me of exactly what I loved about this, and added on new reasons to love it now that I’m even just a bit older, maybe even a bit wiser.

A personal note, when I first watched Haikyuu, I really related to Kenma. More than just “smart introvert gamer”, his overall apathetic nature and lack of understanding for passion, though he was fascinated by it and was drawn to those that illuminate like the sun. Watching the movie where he finally got to feel as intensely as his teammates took me back to when I felt that too. I had to tenderly nurture the feeling to make sure it wasn’t squashed, but that club isn’t in college. Then I rediscovered art and how fun it can be. I hope Kenma gets that too
