With that said, it's interesting to think how this changes.

The show never gave this any focus, it's something that happens slowly and in the background and people will miss if they're not paying attention on these two characters specifically. But in later seasons, Lance himself goes to Pidge with science-related questions, and Pidge is able to answer him in a way he could better understand.

That, I think, is what makes Lance comfortable enough to ask her questions in the first place, and also what makes him try to understand a scientific therm or another she still uses, meeting her half-way.

What I’ve always found so compelling about Plance is they have a kind of language barrier. At the Garrison they weren’t on the same wavelength, but even on the Castle the big communication issue was their vastly different vocabularies.

In The Ark of Taujeer when Keith and Allura ran off to test their theory, the following exchange happened:

P: “They’re isolating the variable! Or, isolating two variables.”

L: “In English?”

P: “When testing a hypothesis -“

L: “I said English!”

P: “UGH never mind!”

This tells me so much. Pidge isn’t elitist - she was more than willing to explain what she’d said to Lance. But she did it in the jargon of a trained scientist and Lance felt insecure and annoyed that he didn’t understand and lashed out at her. Pidge came from a family of scientists and engineers - she wasn’t used to speaking in laymen’s terms. They were unable to communicate in this scene and it frustrated them both.

I think one of my favorite moments in "The Feud!" is when the other paladins get so angry at Lance they just straight up tell him to kill himself

do you guys ever think about how lance died and it was never addressed? that could’ve been such an interesting plot point with lance feeling different afterwards.

teen wolf had their protagonists die and come back and on the show they described having a darkness around their hearts, like a scar.

imagine that with lance, how not only does no one care he died but now he has this black hole in his chest and head that swallows him from the inside and the team has to acknowledge his sacrifice in order to help him get better.

would’ve been such a heartfelt plot point, if only they didn’t hate lance.

I was thinking about voltron so much today that during class I took more notes about voltron than actual notes </3

Watching season 7 of Voltron and I forgot how much I liked it.

I decided to rewatch the parts of the last two seasons since those are the only ones without DVDs, and I forgot how much I enjoy the latter half of season 7.

The battle scenes are so cool. And the MFE crew are fun. Especially the blonde autistic girl she is a delight. I love the details of the crowd shots. And we get to see how much the paladins have bonded with the lions. The episode where they are stuck drifting in space is good too. Seeing Shiro leading the Atlas really gives the character some purpose that’s been wobbly for a while now. Plus he’s so cute.

There’s also some fun character interactions and animations/poses that are so fun/cute to see.

I’m probably a little biased cuz I’m watching this fearing that it will all be lost tomorrow, but there are some real strengths to this season. I remember there was some talk about people wishing s7, as is, was the finale cuz of the good fights and satisfying finish, and hopeful note for the future.

Obligatory note: General Sanda still sucks. I wouldn’t mind if there was a fix-it fic where she had a heart attack as soon as Sam Holt landed and most of humanity was saved cuz she wasn’t there. Like her existence isn’t necessarily bad writing but the fact they tried to redeem her in the end gave attention to her in the funeral is where I draw the line.

Summary of story:

Shiro notices Keith's been acting a bit odd since recovering from his injuries (post season 7), and Keith tells him: he’s been receiving death threats.
