listened to most of The Art of War while hanging clothes at my job earlier and I'm going to just distill down the real advice for y'all without the twenty thousand similes and metaphors and such

#okay it was relevant i promise#basically okay the question was about to what extent is it vital for media products to identify and address a target audience to be#successful and we study 2 radio products#one is newsbeat which is by the bbc it's like a news radio show that's meant to target age 15-29#but the average listener is 30#so . it is Not effectively targeting its audience#it gives . how do you do fellow kids#like it tries really really hard to appeal to young adults/teenagers but it's . painful to listen to sometimes#the bbc have been trying to target this age bracket coz it's the one they don't have a secure audience in#I SAID that they used to have a slightly bigger younger audience in the early 2010s#bcos they had the dan and phil show on radio 1 which was very popular and attracted their mainly teenage/young adult presold audience#they used the popularity of the internet to their advantage by having dnp run a show#but now they've lost a lot of their younger audience To social media platforms#as now what are called digital natives in media (people who have grown up with the internet/don't really remember a time before it)#for the most part prefer to get their news off social media rather than radio#a lot of this is general i know not Every young person Hates radio#but in general it's losing popularity esp amongst younger target audiences#media 🔥🔥🔥🔥#that was only like . a mention in one paragraph tho#coz unfortunately we don't study dnps radio show we study Newsbeat 😔#anyway the exam was overall good for the most part#yay :3#joeyposting

More random head children musings (aside from the really sad one because that deserves better than a throwaway post):
Honestly I think it’s very fortunate that Dism’s team isn’t *entirely* comprised of lucid dreamers.
#just pav things#they’re teenagers that haven’t lived with using their powers their whole lives. they have no innate control over it#They’re FAR more likely to push themselves psychologically because of their emotional issues#And they don’t know when too far is. So they face their punishments for overtaxing themselves as a result ✨#And like. Dism wants to play hero and be the MOST useful so he overcompensates and takes on too much#Doesn’t delegate tasks/responsibility in battle to anyone else at all#And because he’s wielding that persona Inigo also overcompensates because he doesn’t want Dism to get injured#something something lingering thoughts of Archie y’know ✨#And the poor coordination that Dism and Inigo both have in Arcs 1-3.5 means Idyllia#who secretly feels she’s done a terrible job of protecting the people she cares about her whole life#then uses her healing powers to an unnecessarily high degree#because there is one borderline-suicidal not-even-dodge-tanking-as-supposed-to idiot and#trying-to-fulfill-a-misguided-social-agenda idiot 🌈#What are the ultimate results of this?#Well you have ~75% of the party who are barely holding onto this plane of existence#Dism who can barely walk or speak because he can’t *time* any movements of his body correctly#Idyllia who’s left generally shaky weak and extremely fatigued— her life and vitality disappearing into vapid traces#And Inigo who loses his senses and any bearing on reality at all. Even the most basic tasks unintuitive to him#The chances of a TPKO would be absolutely certain if not for Cynthia being able to nurse and protect them while they’re recovering 😭❤️#Honestly they are coasting by on a LOT of luck and it shows#If the end of Arc 2 was any indication…..#They do get better though <3#And that’s how they manage to pull off the successful rescue operations for Idyllia and Archie later :D We love some good teamwork :)#Now you may be thinking— how does this same concept pertain to Archie’s kids?#Theon exhibits the same symptoms as Inigo… or that’s what I would say#He’s so scared of repeating history’s mistakes that he only uses his intuition for guiding his aim and not anything like#scanning for weaknesses or seeing the future. ESPECIALLY THE LATTER#So Theon actually doesn’t tax himself much at all#Consequences for Ewan include a sheer rejection of rationality and logic and positivity#Too much light is blinding! jfc i am so tired of always having to assume that there's an undisclosed, required app involved whenever i buy something these days
#my partner sent me a link to a watch he wants for his birthday that collects data about heartrate and sleep patterns and stuff#when he sent me this link he had already done the heavy lifting of even *finding* a watch that *works* in that way without being online#but i do not trust *any company* when it comes to personal data so i felt the need to additionally check if there was an app#there was no mention of an app in the product description on the link my partner sent me#but wouldn't you know it. after googling for a bit i found that there was an app.#read the info and privacy policy for the app and concluded that they ask for a lot of permissions and use a lot of data#including health data ofc#BUT the good thing was that the app isn't VITAL for the use#it just like. provides additional functions. (and uses your data for marketing purposes yay!!)#so i asked my partner whether he'd be ok with using the watch without the additional functions and he said yes#i still don't trust 100 % that there's nothing freaky going on here even without the app#but at least it *seems* like it should work as intended without data sharing to the supplier or a third party#success i guess#only took me half an hour or so of research#and that's as a privacy expert 🫠#i hate this world man#(the downside of living w/ a privacy professional is i refuse to buy or own things that trigger my 'ick sensor' in regard to personal data)#(the upside of living w/ a privacy professional is you can avoid common privacy traps in your daily life. yaayy)#nagnerd#a nerd nags

the more i hear abt that lilo and stitch movie (against my own will) my ass itches... the social services character is now a woman who isn't a government agent. yea all these casting choices are making it clear the commentary on how native hawaiian families are constantly separated by the US government is NOT going to be in that movie anymore

Been reading some… interesting takes on how people feel about romance in television, and I thought I was going to like this Popsugar article in defense of shipping but then got to this paragraph—
Okay, going one-by-one here, Abbott Elementary, that’s true, I don’t watch Bridgerton but I know it’s romance heavy, Succession is anti-romance? Even though a major plot line in that show had to do with the failing marriage of Tom and Shiv? And they also had a romance plot for Kendall in seasons 2 and 3? And what about Conwilla? Romangerri?
Well. Okay, I guess if you mean the show lacks longterm, sustainable, healthy romance that could be argued, and I could maybe see the anti-romance angle.
Moving on. I don’t watch the Mandalorian. “‘The Last of Us’ is full of deep, non-romantic relationships, but fans will have to wait for season two for Ellie to get a love interest.”
Are the non-romantic relationships in the room right now?
And yeah the focus is on Ellie and Joel’s father-daughter bond, but people usually tend to gloss over these episodes…
Do not even make me laugh about Game of Thrones. The main plot of the show happened because a woman had sex with her brother. The reason that the Red Wedding, that very famous event, even happened was because Robb got married to someone he wasn’t supposed to and it had major consequences on the plot. Sure the show is also about politics and war, but I would argue that romance is still a significant plot thread.

i know it's established ren has a high pain tolerance, but i think the fact he's only displayed a real response to being hurt THREE TIMES during the course of this entire blog really puts it into perspective.

kpop discourse is so funny, watching people fight for their lives to prove their faves are “real” successes as if pop music on the whole (not just kpop but like… most everywhere) isn’t manipulated in some form
