I have finally finished ‘The Sign of the Devil’ book along with the Frey & McGray book series…I have thoroughly enjoyed book series and will recommend it to anyone.
But anyway, I started my visual casting for this series but never finished so here we go (I am aware some of these visuals don’t match the entire book descriptions but I don’t care)…(I am also very aware of the cast crossover being heavy on the good omens cast 😁 I like what I like) …this is who I picture as these characters :
Inspector Ian Percival Frey
Detective Adolphus Nine-Nails McGray
Caroline Ardglass
Amy ‘Pansy’ McGray
Lady Anne Ardglass
Uncle Maurice
Superintendent Trevelyan
Dr Clouston
Fiscal Pratt

DADS DADS DADS DADS. (Read below for a short written scene to add context)
Lucifer purses his lips, echoes of his daughter's words jarring daggers from behind his mind's eye.
“They’re our people too, dad. People with—with hopes and dreams, and—and fears. Like you, and me. I have to do something."
That had been months ago. Same day she left home, along with most things in her room and the knickknacks that had innocently scattered around the house. Once overlooked, now the fractures that chiselled the crack in the wall.
From the corner of his eye, the man’s brow tightens. Lucifer watches shoulders stiffening under a black suit, a red beak pulling into a frown. The imp's eyes remain cemented in the same spot of the table, however, an empty murkiness tredging the edges. Too recognizeable. Too familiar.
Lucifer closes his eyes. Fine. Okay. Okay.
“Uh.” He clears his throat. “Hard day?” Perfect.

do you have any tips for drawing maps?
Breaking down the layout process into smaller, easier tasks rather than tackling scale, perspective and placement all at once

supernatural fic rec
I know I'm about four years late to this, but after much grieving and healing* I fINALLY got around to reading the spn fic The Goldenrod Revisions by @remythologise (previously thylaa)
This rewrite fic is everything I could have wanted and more for these beloved characters final journey. This is the ending they deserved, it is the ending WE deserved!
*so turns out I wasn't healed... and this fic broke me again, but it healed me also
I cannot recommend it enough, especially for anyone who still feels betrayed by a show so close to their heart
@remythologise held the characters so dearly in this rewrite fic, I honestly could see any one of the chapters, if not all, being on our screens. Perhaps they did... somewhere... in an alternate universe... good for them <3

I LOVE UR MURDERBOT ART SM!!!!!! just started reading the series a few days ago and i keep using ur art as reference for visualizing all the action scenes in my head. i wanted to ask if its not too much, who do you use as a face reference for murderbot, if you have any?
THANK U!!!! :DD i don’t have a face ref bc i’m bad at knowing actors models etc to look up in the first place jdkdk…. the way i do the semi realistic style is i find a number of stock photos of ppl with close enough facial features to what im going for, and then tweak them to my mental image while i draw and hope for the best that all my drawings look consistent LMAO

I'm getting art for Abby Commissioned!!
I've commissioned art from @an-overgrown-greenhouse and even before it's finished I've already learned a lot from them about character design.
I had a very solid idea of Abby's style and outfit in my head before commissioning them but when he sent me his own idea for what she could look like I just immediately thought "Wow that is Abby. That is her so much more than what I had down as her."
I was so excited about it. More importantly though, xe talked with me about her design and when xe drew a rough draft of the original idea I had for her outfit I realised even though the outfit made sense and was detailed, it was dark, dull, flat. It didn't suit the bright and loud and loving person that Abby is!
It made her look like she's the kind of person who broods on a regular basis. She looked mean, and that's just not who she is.
Again thank you so much @an-overgrown-greenhouse for taking my commission and seeing the vision with Abby better than I did at first. You have been so amazing so far and I'm so excited to see how it turns out.
The final design will be posted here once I have it, probably after a few hours of being super excited about it since I intend to make a full post talking about her new design. (Though there's every chance that I just go "MY DAUGHTER!!!!!!!!!!!!" and then repost it 7 times because I love her so much.)

it's still so insane to me when i look at my old writing the way i wrote about mental imagery and memories and how i literally just copied other peoples words?? phrasings?! or maybe better: concepts of describing things they experience? and i always thought (and still think) that i draw a lot of the things i write from personal experience and just apply it to different situations by being empathic (rather than just reproducing cliches) but then... evidently so much that i wrote was just "copied" from or at least influenced by other peoples experiences or maybe even a "general experience" humans have... and like i know everything is a remix anyway and that's not a bad thing but it's just so baffling to me and it makes me wonder what else i/we just think we experience because 97% of people say they experience it when actually we do NOT experience it — at least not in the same way the 97% do
