Kind of a sedate spooky reading, but still real good. I suppose if there's a horror here it's those skewed heteronormative expectations around a) women must marry when they're young and attractive and b) men don't need to commit and can afford to be aloof assholes. But the way Jackson writes this, it still has an eerie vibe about what exactly is going on.

The sedate horror continues with this weird, meandering tale about what I can only guess are some rich yuppies traveling about the countryside without a care as those around them suffer. Since it's Gorey, there's a general unsettling look in the illustrations, and the ending does nothing to assuage that feeling.

I didn't expect we'd lose Bellara. We chatted once. Her thoughts spilled out of her in swirls and eddies. She was delightful. And brilliant. I... I'm... sorry. Making a friend is hard, and losing one, so much worse. (romance) Everyone could tell you were together. That upward tilt of her chin, staring at you. She was fascinated. Losing someone so special... I'm sorry.

Davrin (romance)

No non-romance version because it didn't trigger in my game at all, so I couldn't verify the lines against the script.

I didn't expect we'd lose Davrin. I caught sight of his smile, looking at you, once. The absolute contentment...

Emmrich

I didn't expect we'd lose Emmrich. He was warm. You wouldn't expect a death mage to be so… wonderfully warm. He could throw you in a stone box and talk at you about etherics, and it would feel like being wrapped in a blanket. (romance) I saw you together once. The way his brow softened when he looked at you.

Harding

I didn't expect we'd lose Harding. I once saw her talk six soldiers down from a fight. With just a smile, and a hand on her hip. I said to myself, that one's made of steel. Or... stone, I... suppose... (romance) I noticed her shoulders loosened around you. Her eyes no longer scanned for danger.

Lucanis

I didn't expect we'd lose Lucanis. I saw him on the beach once. Smiling. Basking in the warmth of the sun on his face. It must have felt like a gift, after all that time in a Venatori cage. (romance) I caught sight of the fleeting touches between you. Almost like he wanted to be sure you weren't some fever dream.

Neve

I didn't expect we'd lose Neve. She was so poised. Took everything in with a single glance. Tell you what you had for breakfast yesterday, and where. And she'd be right. (romance) I saw the small, knowing smile when she looked at you. Like there was a secret only the two of you shared.

Taash (friendship)

Isabela: Taash is gone. They're just gone. I can't even remember the last thing they said to me. Isabela: I didn't get to say goodbye... Rook: I'm sorry, too.

Taash (romance)

Isabela: You made Taash so happy, Rook. They could be themselves with you. And I could just... feel it. Isabela: I'm so sorry. Rook: I am, too.

Okay but does Peri KNOW that Dev has a robotic leg when he shows up? Something about the fact that Peri's wand is a cane and the fact that Dev could have kept his leg and just had a cane for the rest of his life instead tickles my brain.

I mean he doesn't know immediately, he wasn't like briefed or anything, but he basically lives in Dev's house so he definitely finds out. Peri doesn't comment on or react to it all though really, there's no reason for him to think anything of it, plenty of people have missing limbs, a lot of people are born without them, it doesn't necessarily mean anything sinister happened. He had no reason to pry or ask and I think Peri's lack of reaction to it helped Dev feel a bit more comfortable in his skin. (Not by much but.. a little bit.)

hey i dont go here but jayce's speech about viktor in s2e9 isn't him saying 'u should never have tried to heal yourself, you were perfect the way u were x3' it was him saying that viktor's physical health never made him any less beautiful, never made him any less important, never made him any LESS, period. he wasn't saying viktor didn't need to pursue a cure for his ills like come on his motivation to invent hextech was to help people. to cure disease. viktor's first and foremost among them.

he said what he said because it was the thing viktor craved to hear most in his life, and that is why those were the words that punched through his defences even as the machine herald: jayce loved him wholly and unconditionally, healthy or ill, good or bad, human or inhuman. he would always be loved just the same.

☆ What is tumblr secret santa? - basically, I, (santa) will give everyone who wants to join the url of someone else who wants to! On the 12 days leading up to christmas, every day, you send an anon ask to the person youve been given... Youll be their secret santa!! On the 25th of DECEMBER, everyone goes off anon and gives the person they've been sending asks to a gift! This can be art, a fanfic, a picture or song they might like... it can be anything!

☆ whats the point? - the point is to hopefully make some new friends, and spread positivity, community and platonic love during the christmas season! I'll try to match everyone with someone they dont know well or interact with, who matches their interests, and their age range! (Minors with minors, adults with adults)!

☆ What are the rules? - Not many rules, I'd just say no nsfw or hateful messages on anon (especially if youve been assigned a minor! If you start sending nsfw to minors you WILL be reported!!!)
