Viktor and Yuuri ended practice early, walking into the school seriously and still in skating gear on Yuuri's end, his skates and bag over his shoulder "who attacked our son?" Yuuri seethed, the Omega scanning the area to spot their seven year old sitting with a bruised cheek and muddied uniform, across was a young alpha boy of the same age who looked worse for wear, uniform messy and muddied and a grimase on his face.

Viktor watched Yuuri go mama bear while he went to check on their pup, the young Omega upset as his papa checked him over "you're little hellion attacked my son!" The Alpha boys sire screamed angrily and Yuuri turned his attention to the other, an alpha woman and beta husband "I want to see the camera footage" Yuuri snapped before the Alpha could scream any further.

"N-now..." The principal tried to calm the Omega "no no, my son doesn't just hit other kids, he knows better now show me the footage" Yuuri snapped and Viktor lifted his tiny pup into his arms, the boy silent as he clung to him.

The parents watched the footage intently, little (name) was minding his business with a few of his friends, the boy and the others were really interested in pokemon cards these days as Viktor always got him a few packets when shopping.

Then came a group of boys, the ringleader being the little alpha, (name) seemed confused as the Alpha boy tried to rip off his collar only for (name) to push him back to keep him at a distance, the Alpha boy growing angry and punching him while screaming something the parents weren't privy to as there was no audio.

"We will be pressing charges" Viktor spoke up, staring at the principal and parents seriously who looked horrified "unless your son formally apologizes, you all get therapy and there will be class transfers on your son's end" Viktor was a reasonable man, the others nodding aggressively with panic as there wasn't a family in the area who didn't know about the skating couple.

(Name) Was quiet on the drive home, Yuuri worried as be held Viktors hand and the two glanced at each other.

"Sweety, do you want to talk about it" Yuuri asked as he sat with his pup, the boy fidgeting and refusing to make eye contact "he said... That I'm just a worthless Omega... That papa only married you because omegas were stupid..." Yuuri remembered seeing the rest of the video as Viktor threatened the parents, (name) lunged at the boy.

"You know that's not true, right?" Yuuri whispered softly and Viktor came in with some hot coco, marshmallows and all for the boy "I know... I was just mad"

"Well we aren't happy that it got violent but I'm glad you stuck up for yourself, my smart wonderful little omega" Viktor kissed the boys forehead and (name) huffed "whatever..."

"You're sounding like your uncle now!" Viktor teased as the family turned on a movie, Yuuri going to get the boy some ice from his swollen cheek, just wanting to care for their pup.

my “brand” is what i like to call “bedtime stories” podfic. due to some circumstances beyond the scope of this post, my podfics are recorded on my secondhand e-reader in a very basic app. i usually read curled up in bed or in my favorite chair. i like to imagine my close fandom friends as the intended recipient to give it a cozy hangout charm. so the concept goes like this: “bedtime stories is a very chill, completely unedited, live-read style podfic. the vibe is like i'm the grandpa from the movie the princess bride and you need a distraction bc maybe you're not feeling too great today. so you get comfy and i'm gonna read you a story.”

one of the reasons i started making podfics is bc i am post-T-puberty genderqueer transmasc and learning to lean into and love my new voice. i am experimenting with and learning how to do consistent character voices, but it is not a strength of mine at this time. and, again, my ability to do that will depend on my familiarity with the characters and the source media. i also sometimes play songs in the background to help me focus (autism & adhd here), especially for longer projects (but i’ve figured out how to play the music directly in my headphones while still recording, if you don’t want to have what i am listening to also recorded while i am reading)

i like to pair music videos/fanvids/gifs with my podfics in the ao3 post to make it a fun multimedia experience (and like a game for me!) even with my nonexistent editing and post-production style. i welcome the bidder to share their “fandom propaganda”--i want to know why you love the fic(s) and why you chose it to be podficced! and maybe i'll feature a fanvid you shared with me in the ao3 post!

so. if what you want for your podfic are lots of post-production editing with added sound effects & soundscaping/music effects, with a “perfect” read and no environmental noise or outside interruptions: i am not the person to make that project for you. if you don’t mind/actively enjoy a "friendly hangout & fandom chatty" sort of cold-read & zero-editing style, then bid on me!

Hold Me Close Excerpt (Viktuuri Omegaverse)

I was going to take a longer break, but I started working on this last week, so here’s a snippet of the first draft :)

Yuuri swallowed, and kept his face carefully blank as Viktor stepped out of the vehicle, circled it, and opened Yuuri's door for him, his smile never dimming as he did so. He appeared far above just happy, but jovial, like he thought very highly of himself. Yuuri didn't know how he felt about that.

“Come on,” Viktor said, once more wrapping his arm around Yuuri's shoulders as he led him towards the house, “I'll show you around.”

Yuuri felt painfully awkward as Viktor led him up the stairs amidst a chorus of loud, excited barks. No one had ever touched him like this before, and beyond just making him feel uncomfortable, Yuuri didn't know if it was wise to tell him to stop. He'd heard of alphas punishing their omegas for even the smallest of slights, and he had no tools yet to gauge whether Viktor was this way or not.

I hope this will work out... Yuuri thought nervously as he glanced at Viktor from the corner of his eye, still chattering away happily, as though blissfully unaware of Yuuri's unease. He seems nice, but...oddly scary at the same time, but I can't put my finger on why.

Viktor led Yuuri up the steps and into the house, where Yuuri was confronted with a larger version of his old dog Vicchan—back before his father had sold him off.

Yuuri shook his head; not the time to be thinking about that.

The dog—Makkachin, Yuuri remembered—let out a loud, excited bark, and ran immediately for Yuuri, his tail a blur as he leapt up and knocked him down, making him yelp as his glasses flew up to perch on the top of his head as he hit the ground, and he grimaced a little as Makkachin licked his face happily.

“Ohh, Makkachin, get off your new best friend!” Viktor cried as he tugged the dog off and pulled Yuuri to his feet, and proceeded to brush him off and adjust his glasses, smiling warmly as he did so, but unnervingly, Yuuri noted that not once did Viktor actually ask if Yuuri was okay.

“Come on,” Viktor said as he looped an arm around Yuuri. “I'll show you around, and then we'll have some dinner.”

Yuuri stayed quiet, uncertain what to say as they wove through the house. On the outside it had looked moderately sized, but inside was enormous, with more rooms than his family's inn. The rooms themselves were all huge and lavish, and some of the furniture seemed more expensive than Yuuri's whole house.

“I paid more for this sofa than for you!” Viktor had said with a teasing note to his voice, when they stepped into the living room, but Yuuri couldn't find it in himself to laugh.

The rest of the tour was the same, ending on the bedroom—their bedroom Viktor had pointedly called it, reminding Yuuri what he was here for—before Viktor took him down to the dining room, where a servant was laying out a simple spread of some sort of fancy beef stew.

“My chef is French,” Viktor said conversationally as he pulled out Yuuri's chair before sitting down himself. “My parents aren't too happy about it—they think I should have hired someone Russian, but the last time I did that it was nothing but borscht and spicy salami sandwiches constantly—it was a nightmare. Besides, French food is generally good and rich, which I think is what you need for when your heat comes. When is your next one due? I can't recall what the paperwork said.”

“Um...a week or two,” Yuuri replied meekly without looking up. “Sometimes mine are...erratic, so I can't be sure.”

“Well, not to worry, we'll get you into bed soon,” Viktor said with a roguish wink that he seemed to think was charming, but instead Yuuri felt distinctly sick.

After dessert, which were bowls of dark chocolate-raspberry mousse too bitter for Yuuri's tastes, Viktor made the announcement that he had been dreading.

“Well, Yuuri, I'd like to...you know.” He smiled, and Yuuri swallowed thickly. “Would you like to wash first, or something, or would you rather just go and do it? I'd like to do it before we get too settled into bed, I don't want to be so drowsy that I accidentally hurt you.”

“Um...I think a bath s-sounds good,” Yuuri said without looking at him. He could feel the tears beginning to film over his eyes, and he was certain that allowing Viktor to see how scared he was would only make things worse.

“Wonderful!” Viktor chirped, and clapped his hands together once. “I think I have some pyjamas that should fit you, until we can go shopping tomorrow for you, or do you prefer to sleep naked...?”

“No, pyjamas are fine,” Yuuri said quickly. And Viktor smiled warmly at him, while he reached forward to cover one of Yuuri's hands with his own, causing the omega to tense.

“Just relax, Yuuri, I'll take good care of you. Just you wait and see.”
