 A hundred people came to the Criminal Courts Building in lower Manhattan Oct. 21 to demand justice for Jordan Neely. The 30-year-old Black man was strangled to death by the white vigilante Daniel Penny on May 1, 2023, inside a subway car.

The December 12th Movement called the protest, which began as a news conference and continued as a militant picket line. D12 chairman Omowale Clay and International Secretariat member Roger Wareham were among the speakers. Demonstrators chanted, “Never forget, never give up!'”

◌ I theorize that if we had the fictionalized versions of heroes and powers in this world that, like everything else, we would only see the black and white. When there are heroes, there are synonymous villains and vice versa, but what about heroes that do "bad" and villains that do "good"? What about vigilantes that do not officially side with the law but aren’t doing anything heroes wouldn’t? It poses the bigger question of are things all good and all bad? The simple answer is obviously no, but as someone with autism and a minority in multiple other ways that leads me to seeing the cryptic grays of the world from an early age, I wish it was black and white. It would make reading others easier and the idea of morals would not feel like swallowing sharp, crystallized rocks.

◌ For a long time, I have held the opinion that people society considers to be heroes are actually some of the worst oppressors. This refers to the white man’s unrelenting power, of course, but other subcategories of authority unrelated to identity. For example, parents and teachers are people we're taught to respect at all times despite the multitude of them that have abused their power. However, this is another one of those gray areas that we cannot see. I, for one, harbor a lot of guilt with my feelings surrounding my parents because they have undoubtedly wronged me in ways that will forever impact me, but they have also made me happy and I have memories, if not a lot, of them being genuinely good people, people that I looked up to at one point. That does not discard the fact they’ve hurt me though and them hurting me doesn’t discard any good they have contributed to my life either.

◌ This only scratches the surface of a way bigger issue, but I think the message still stands; there’s very little black and white in this world, just an abundance of gray.

In regards to the 'How the Fenton parents take Phantom' id imagine when Phantom was announced to be joining the JL they were paranoid , but had to admit that if hes seemingly vetted by:

and Wonder Woman who literally has a Lasso of Truth....

Between overall public perception since Phantom isnt just in Amity , the GIW either being disbanded or having to go even more into hiding / cut ties with Fentons due to all eyes on Phantom so they cant really control the narrative , and just so many stories from all kinds of people and demographics (instead of 'pretty much the teenage student body of Casper High + plus some notable adults' , others being mostly indifferent instead of hateful) around the world

I'm thinking of a small AU for this but I always thought what could happened if Reader was an Isekai or regressed in a Neglected batfam fic?

Reader knowing what happens to the story or her future life with these people and they just straight up planned something to stay far away from the family without causing them to become yandere or obsessed with them.

If reader think it through and most possible solution is to stay at the mansion and be discreet as possible.

And the most I could think of is just get adopted by Alfred instead, bcs why not? You get to stay at the mansion, you won't have the Wayne name on you for reasons that maybe you resent the thought of being called a Wayne.

And even if for a short while you can feel like you belong, not as a child of a rich asshole who becomes a vigilante that runs around 'his' city to do his nightly fight with criminals that just keep multiplying because god only knows he has more patience and time for them that his neglected child who rots in an old house that makes the child feel it's their own Arkham Asylum.

Not to be related to a bunch of bitchy brothers and sisters who thinks they're far more important or involved in the family and never thought that just because they 'died' multiple times your trauma weights lesser than them, just because yours is far more tame doesn't mean you don't get to deserve a little love too.

(This is just me putting myself in the reader's shoes because that's really what I do to most of the x reader fics I make)
