Writing, especially good writing, is like tearing your own messy heart out and allowing it to stain the page. You can feel your clumsy fingers as they reach between your ribs, poking and prodding with the sharp end of a pencil. There's nowhere to hide, not anymore. It's horrifyingly vulnerable to have such personal thoughts made public, victim and traitor at once. Yet it is freeing. There are no interruptions, nothing to cut you short or cause interruptions. You have a rare chance to decide what to say and reveal every word, editing out all the unsightly pauses and meaningless noise before placing your heart in the hands of strangers. . . . There are moments in my day when the violent motion of my mind finally leaves me.  I find myself held, like an open room after voices have ceased to sing, and I am for the first time that day, still.  Listening.  Nothing around me has changed, and yet, reflected in the new still waters beneath my chest, everything looks quite different.  It is usually about now that I begin to think of you. It is usually about now that I long for a vessel, for some slender craft I could row toward the bank of the lake inside my chest and find you on the shore.  I hold out my hand and you step gingerly into the wooden bottom of the boat, no words passing between us.  Pushing off the bank, we float into the center of the lake and join with the still picture of the night.  The boat will turn almost imperceptibly, a slow circle around an axis dependent on the weight of our bodies being there.  We will rest together, our hands draped over the edge of the boat, the tips of our fingers dipped just below the surface.  Above, stars hold bright vigil.  Breathless and without expectation, like priests.

Varinha e ferro sobre caixa da electricidade.

Qualquer dia, Carla, estragas o ferro. O ferro não leva dessa água. Há uma água própria, não é da torneira, é soro ou qualquer coisa assim. Isso é um ferro bom, é alemão, não é Philips, mas é bom.

Dona Dulce, minha senhora, soro dá-se aos doentes, não é aos ferros. Água é água, não há cá água de engomar.

Assim, Carla, a varinha não dura. Desliga a panela, espera um pedacinho e depois é que passas a sopa, não é com ela ainda ao lume. É tudo sem jeito, é tudo um trouxe-mouxe, tudo a correr, sem mimo, nem brio.

Passou a sopa, passou a roupa e Dulce foi-se esquecendo e passou os últimos dias passadinha. No fim não durou mais do que três dias a soro. Passou a varinha todas as suas sopas e o ferro aguentou-se sem esfriar até à última saia que foi a cremar com ela muito esticadinha. A Dulce e à sua longa vida, sobreviveram-lhe os seus descendentes e os seus electrodomésticos, ferro e varinha, que agora ficam aqui em cima da caixa da electricidade. Ainda aproveitam a alguém, vais ver.

Twitteratura (ang. Twitterature, połączenie twitter oraz literature) – krótkie utwory publikowane na portalu społecznościowym Twitter, obejmujące wszelakie gatunki (najczęściej reprezentujące poezję, powieści, opowiadania, aforyzmy), zazwyczaj ograniczone do 140 bądź 280 słów, tj. jednego tweeta, mogą być wieloczęściowe (rozłożone na wiele tweetów), możliwy jest udział paru autorów oraz interaktywna  relacja z odbiorcami.

Pojawiają się także dodatkowe, uzupełniające pojęcia takie jak: twovel, twiction, tweet fic, twiller, phweeting.
