So more on UNEND episode 12. First, cannot understate the visual horror of discovering a mass of human bodies down there in the deep fold. Like a bog from the beginning of time, catching everything that falls down there and preserving it, including, it seems - any person who has ever been unlucky enough to fall and not hit anything on the way down. The fact that gravity still exists between the islets is a fun quirk (it's not like outer space!) but also all the more terrifying. You could fall from the Un, apparently starve to death on the way down (per Ep 11) - and hold on a second there because tbh that has interesting implications to me about the actual distances in Midst. Pedantically I would suggest you'd die of thirst first, but still. Let's say for thirst, which is 3 days without water. At terminal velocity that's falling for 8,836 miles. For comparison, Earth is 7,926 miles tall from pole to pole. If somehow the humidity of the fold can sustain you and you do have to die of hunger instead as the text suggests, with the rule of thumb of 3 weeks that means you'd be falling for 61,854 miles. And that's "long before" you would have reached this bog point in the deep fold which has collected the detritus of the cosmos. For further comparison the deepest accessible point on Earth's surface (Mariana trench) is only 7 miles deep, while the Moon is 238,900 miles away - the Midst cosmos sense of scale is somewhere in the middle to the tune of local space travel.

new funky dream last night

main character was a ghost who fought in WWI. didn't die in it though - lived and ended up writing a book about the war that was lauded as groundbreaking and intense and somehow achingly sweet (i think he wrote it to immortalize someone he loved who did not make it through). when he was alive everybody hounded him for a sequel or for him to write more books and he just... never did. he wrote the one book he needed to.

his ghost looked pretty young, but he died older than he looked

and he found himself at this apartment complex where he was told to find this girl and have tea with her, and she could help him rest

and here's the thing. she was a perfectly normal looking girl. you had tea with her and she quizzed you up and down your family tree to find someone who was still alive and then she would have tea with that person as well, and somehow that would make you move on

(our main character didn't have any living relatives that he knew of)

but even though she looked normal, it didn't feel normal

I just remember her looking and it didn't feel like it was something human looking at me. it felt like there were suddenly a million eyes on me. that something massive and terrifying and beyond my comprehension was just out of sight behind me, with hungry eyes. the whole goosebumps on your arms and a shiver down your spine experience.

i just remember having tea with her and thinking the whole time that this whole tea thing was 'the gentle way'. and i didn't want to find out what the ungentle way was.

This is definitely not a wip for something… 🙃

But actually lol, I forgot this month was spooky month and I was going to take a small break from everything to make this in like a week, but there’s absolutely NO WAY I can finish this before the end of this month lol. It’s alright tho, I’ll come back to this once I have the time :)

But like- this is something I’ve never done, and I’m really excited about it. I’ve already storyboarded the entire animation and it ended up being 5:30 mins long.

This is an original thing, like I’m not animating this to an audio I find online. I’m making it 😏 It’ll be mainly silent. It’s mostly ambience and very minimal sound effects that is just more ambience. Oh yeah, and it’s scripted.

Story-wise, won’t be revealing it yet. All I can say, it’s about Jonathan.

This ended up being a bigger project than I’d imagine, and just something I’ve always wanted to do. In the near future, or far 🥲, I’ll work on it and show wips of this, when the time comes (I’m so sorry for constantly saying this lmaoo. I have a list of stuff I need to make and I’m just slowly checking off each thing. I’m saving some time for this, need a lot)

Anyways, I already made something for spooky month dw. Spooky and horror is literally my cup of tea I cannot miss out. I chug it every day, and every day I want to draw Saul being tormented by his demons, or his mind.
