Damn Orym really out here making a plan to put down Imogen if necessary after saying he's proud of her. Totally get it though considering she's been slightly dancing round the edge of agreeing with the whole destroy the gods thing and is having conflicted feelings regarding her Mum. And Orym has one purpose at the minute, take down the guys who killed his family and stop the apocalypse. And if Imogen did switch sides, he knows his duty is to the mission even if it will tear him apart to do so.

In the first chapter of Tough, Tried, and True Blue, Remy dreams of finding a cure for her lycanthropy at Hogwarts. This made sense to me as something that my young werewolf protagonist would want, however I knew from the beginning that this was not going to be a story about miracle cures. Instead, I found lycanthropy to be a compelling allegory for disability/chronic illness, and wanted to explore the evolution from believing survival depends on assimilation to recognizing that survival depends on advocating for accommodations. This meant that at some point the shoe had to drop for Remy and her dreams of a cure- and that’s what this chapter is about. It features my favorite OC that I’ve written for this fic (tied with Scrum the owl, of course), as well as a mysterious inscription in a hundred year old diary, a pensive, and a love story.
Chapter 17: The Diary, Part 2: Emma and the Wolf
In the hospital wing, there were two occupied beds. On one lay a boy, asleep, with dark hair and long limbs, his face and body marked by a silvery web of scars. On the other bed was a girl, awake, with short curly blonde hair and wide green eyes. She was slight, and her skin was so pale she seemed nearly translucent in the dim morning light. She sat upright, watching the sleeping boy with fixed curiosity.
George and Emma, Remy thought, though she didn’t know if the thought was entirely her own, or some knowledge bestowed by the memory she walked within.
What was strange was how little was different. It was a hundred years in the past, and yet the hospital wing looked nearly identical to the room Remy had recovered in a few days prior. The starchy white sheets, the pale blue curtains, the diamond patches of light shining through the grated window frames- they were as familiar to Remy as her own bedroom.
Sirius was beside her, looking wide-eyed around the room, and Remy wondered if she too was realizing the peculiar magic of a place like Hogwarts. A place that was removed from time, from modernity- crystalline and ever nostalgic. It was like childhood, in that way.
The boy woke up. He blinked into the light, wiped the sleep from his eyes, and groaned when he tried to pull himself upright. When he noticed the girl watching him, he froze.
“What happened to you?” The girl asked.
