Damn Orym really out here making a plan to put down Imogen if necessary after saying he's proud of her. Totally get it though considering she's been slightly dancing round the edge of agreeing with the whole destroy the gods thing and is having conflicted feelings regarding her Mum. And Orym has one purpose at the minute, take down the guys who killed his family and stop the apocalypse. And if Imogen did switch sides, he knows his duty is to the mission even if it will tear him apart to do so.

that's been known to happen.
Sometimes, it's easy to forget that Fearne is fey. They've been traveling together for so long now that all of her quirks and idiosyncrasies seem normal—not that Fearne isn't normal. Well, okay, she's not, but that's what Orym loves about her.
But Fearne's home being the Feywild means that things that seem extraordinary to Orym are commonplace, even boring to her. Like today, when they're flying hundreds of feet above Marquet on a floating ship, and Orym feels bigger and smaller than he ever has in his life.
"Can you believe it, Fearnie?" he says, peering over the edge. The continent below is hazy, like a painting that's been smudged. "We're actually flying."
Little Mister scurries along the edge of the ship, shrieking and chattering, as Fearne comes to look over Orym's shoulder. "Wow. We're pretty high up, aren't we?"
"Yeah." Once, when Orym was young, the Tempest took a bunch of kids on flights all around the Summit Peaks during a festival, but even that couldn't compare to this. "You ever been this high before?"
Fearne hums contemplatively. "I don't think so. Well, I mean, there was that one time Grandma Morri dropped me down into a canyon that we couldn't see the bottom of, but I don't think it was as deep as this, no."
Orym blinks, then slowly turns his head to stare at Fearne. She looks back at him, confused. "What?"
"She dropped you into a canyon?"
Fearne shrugs. "Yeah. It was fun! It was the first time I learned how to do my shapeshifting thing. There was river at the bottom and I just turned into a fish." She frowns at the shock on Orym's face. "Why are you looking at me like that?"
Where Orym is from, dropping a child into a canyon would be an unspeakable act of cruelty, but then, Fearne is fey, isn't she? Orym tries to school his face into something less horrified. "I guess...if you're okay..."
"Why wouldn't I be okay?" Fearne's shoulders sink in a bit. "Did I say another weird Feywild thing again?"
And now Orym feels like a jerk. He hops up onto the railing next to Mister and pats Fearne's face. "That's been known to happen. But I never want to stop hearing Feywild stories, Fearne. I love learning about how you grew up."
Her eyes brighten. "Maybe if we ever get to visit Grandma Morri, she can drop you down the canyon! You're really good at landing on your feet!"
"Well, we'll fall off that bridge when we come to it." Orym bends his knees and bounces up to sit on Fearne's shoulders, holding onto her curling horns for balance. He rests his chin on her head. "You know, I do hope we get to go visit your home someday. I bet it's beautiful."
Fearne sighs. "It is. I do miss it sometimes." She reaches up to hold onto his legs. "But I'm glad I'm here with you."
"I'm glad you're here, too, Fearnie." He rests his chin on her head. "Hey, you know, Chet's taking a nap right now. Wanna go convince him the ship is sinking?"
Fearne doesn't even answer, just leaps in the direction of the hold, and Orym holds on to her horns with a laugh that disappears into the clouds.
