I find it both interesting and confusing that so many people are interpreting this moment as deadnaming. We were given the context for Louis's use of Armand's given name in episode four. Within their Dom/sub dynamic it is literally Armand's trigger word.

For those who aren't familiar, those words are sometimes agreed upon or sometimes discovered by partners as they get to know one another and they indicate that certain commands cannot be defied (excepting the use of a safe word). In this scene Louis is not giving Armand a choice. He's using the trigger word, Arun, as confirmation that he is immovable in this decision. I'm not going to go so far as to assume their relationship is healthy and they have a safe word, but in the real world that would be in place along with a trigger word.

i definitely make jokes about daniel being a “cokewhore” on occasion but i feel like some of y’all didn’t grok that he was actually for real real prostituting himself for drugs and it’s kind of an import detail about his character that’s been alluded to throughout the show.

idk i’ve just been seeing a lot of posts about daniel’s sexuality lately and like. in addition to Older Queer Male Repression Classic Flavor, it kinda thunks your thinker that the time when Daniel was most sexually involved with men he was also in a really terrible place mentally and physically, and that sexuality was intrinsically related to his drug use and poverty, and now he does not openly acknowledge his obvious hOmOpHiLe status huh?

No but these two scenes make absolutely no sense if nothing else happened? Armand's words and adoring look, are not used to gain anything for him or even for Louis, really. Louis messing with Daniel's memories could have been what Armand suggested, to bring him back to "what happened next". But his interference with that, looking actually sad at Daniel, saying what Alice was thinking and instead of being cruel and telling him that Alice isn't thinking of him, he put an end to it. And of course what was the point of the first flashbacks (even though they were from SF) when they were talking about Alice?

And then the next day, we have the apology on Louis' behalf and this heart eyes look.

It's certainly something beyond attraction, we have seen Armand grinning and being cocky about his sexual and hunting endeavours, we have even seen him actually being attracted to Daniel.

But these two scenes really don't make any sense unless something else happened. And of course the scene that Louis tells him he could turn him now...
