the thing about avatar Zuko is that he still does actually remember all those years of court training, it's just that for the most part, he chooses to ignore him. monk gyatso never cared to stand on ceremony, and the swampbenders? do you even have to ask? the sandbenders also did not have much place for formalities in their society.
which means every time that Zuko does draw on his training as a prince, it always catches people wildly off guard. he arrives at the North Pole and gives Chief Arnook and Princess Yue a court perfect bow. his manners are impeccable when they sneak into the party at the Earth King's palace. he gives Chief Hakoda the respect he deserves from a man in his position.
it's just like oh yeah. he is a fire nation prince.

Hi!! I love your writing!! Especially on SDV and Emily!! If you are open to requests, cloud you do one were the reader divorced Haley bc she realized she ended up in love and connection more with Emily? How would she react? Happy ending pliz 🫰🏻
nature abhors a vacuum
Tumblr media
pairing: sdv emily x reader (sdv haley & reader)
synopsis: after a failed marriage, you realise your heart always belonged to emily ♡ i did change the req ever-so-slightly but i hope you still enjoy this drabble, anon !!
warnings: slight angst, mention of divorce / heartbreak. happy ending !!
word count: 0.7k
Tumblr media
“I’ll be fine on my own,” Haley’s voice is honeyed and sombre, yet still wrapped in the effervescent charm of her Valley girl accent, “Thanks for the memories, just go… live your own life.”
Her smile is bittersweet as she tucks a strand of displaced golden hair behind her ear; quietly, she leaves.
Time always seems to stand still during moments like this, during endings; during heartbreak. The rain that pours from the dark clouds above seems pathetically appropriate. It feels as though barbed wire is tugging at your throat as you push the tears back— it was silly really, this was a mutual divorce.
For weeks now, you and Haley had been at odds: at first, silly arguments about movies and music. Then, inevitably, disagreements about taste became fights about chores; fights became nights alone on the living room sofa. Turns out there is a difference between loving someone and liking them; living with you, being by your side 24/7, made Haley realise that— although she cares about you immensely— she doesn’t particularly like you.
But then there was Emily.
Vibrant, passionate, she breaths life into the shadows of your existence. With Emily, conversations are more than just words; they're connections. Her laughter is a melody that fills the air with warmth. Her presence lifts the weight of the world, replacing it with a sense of peace you haven't known in years.
You didn’t realise how much you needed somebody like that until you met her. The dejected look she would wear when watching you flirt with her sister was lost on you completely; the gifts Emily painstakingly made for you were received platonically.
You pick up one of Emily’s handmade gifts that lay neglected on your sofa: a cardigan knitted from the softest wool, dyed in your favourite colour. Running your fingers over the soft fabric, you discovered a small detail: a custom label on the hem of the cardigan, embroidered with a heart.
A blush warms your cheeks before the realization hits.
You’re in love with Emily.
Slipping into the cardigan, you sprint out of your farmhouse. You feel the unrelenting rain soak your skin as your dog barks out in the distance; your boots splash in the puddles along the dirt path to town.
As you enter the town square, you see Emily rush towards the Stardrop Saloon with her coat pulled over her head, protecting herself from the rain you’re soaking in.
“Em’! There’s something I need to tell you,” you shout, voice barely louder than the rain as you approach the saloon, “Something I should have told you a long time ago.”
Emily’s eyes widen as she looks towards you, “Oh Yoba, you’re soaked! W-What is it?”
“I… I love you, Emily. I think I’ve loved you for a very long time, but I was too scared to admit it. You’re the most amazing person I’ve ever met, and I just… I can’t imagine my life without you.” You exhale softly as you tuck a strand of azure hair behind her ear, “Everything you used to tell me about soulmates and fate… I just wanted to tell you that whatever happens now, my soul belongs to you. It always has.”
Emily’s breath caught in her throat, her cheeks flushed with surprise and disbelief. “You… you love me?”
With a surge of emotion, you closed the distance— your soft lips meeting hers in a passionate kiss that spoke volumes more than your words ever could. Your hand nestles in her soft hair, and you feel her pull you closer with a tug of your cardigan.
As you finally pull away, breathless and dizzy, Emily looks up at you with a beaming smile, “I love you too, of course... Cute cardigan by the way.”

also lads sorry I've been kinda dead.. ik it ain't wednesday but here's some WIPS I've got / been working on!!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
1st one is the ref for a new dnd character of mine :] funniest part w/ how much getting her fur pattern down has been a struggle for me [as u can see w/ all the mini tests.. I'm trying to do basically the same thing w/ all of them hdfjgk] is that literally no one else is going to see it besides like, the DM maybe. like she's disguised and will be introduced as disguised to the rest of party, they will NOT be seeing this ref.
2nd one is one I've posted b4, but she's a lil further along now- lighting is the main point of this piece and by fuck is it screwing w/ me lol. also I'm just.. not good/practiced w/ environments & objects so yknow.
3rd one i'm not sure I'll ever finish? it'd Ophelia as, well... Ophelia from that one painting lol.
but yea :] I also have other pieces I plan on doing that don't have sketches even yet... [Magical girl au fanart, OTH doodles... meet the artist.. tomie x batb au.. etc jhdkgd]
so yeah!

Devastated to discover that my father is a natural vlogger. If he were born two generations later, he'd be doing absolute numbers on YouTube.

Does anyone else find it a bit uncanny when supposed creatures of light don't charge you? Like the nightbirds in Prairie Peaks or the manatees thingies from Days of Nature(the ones in Prairie Peaks charge you, I checked) or the baby jellyfish from this year's Days of Colour(they don't even get startled when you walk into them like all the others in the game..). It uncannies my valley.

[Image ID: A very confused, and slightly horrified looking Danny Phantom holds the Little Baby Man version of himself that is hugging his hand and purring. /. End ID]
So here's a fun thought: Consider a situation in which LBM is NOT, in fact, a tiny Danny, but a mimic blob ghost that has adopted his image as a form of Batesian self defense. Then imagine Danny's reaction to seeing some fucked up little uncanny valley cat version of himself with zero warning or context.
Per Wikipedia: "Batesian mimicry is a form of mimicry where a harmless species has evolved to imitate the warning signals of a harmful species directed at a predator of them both."

webfishing is such a breath of fresh air honestly. i feel like every vaguely "cozy" title wants to be minecraft or animal crossing or stardew valley, but the bloat of all the obligatory timesink systems has been smothering the joy of the low-stakes open-ended lollygagging. i can never just hang out in games like that, because everything is locked behind so many layers of heirloom mechanics included purely for trendiness (via blind imitation of the big name games) and not because they actually improve the gamefeel or streamline the gameplay loop. i can't just play ten minutes of a game like that because those ten minutes are gonna damage my tools/armor or run down a timer or use up a crafting resource or some other chain reaction of unfun grinding garbage.
meanwhile, webfishing has no crafting, no survival, no item breakage, no stamina meter, no food meter, no jumpscares... the physics-defying out-of-bounds void area doesn't beat you over the head with the creepypasta shlock and mostly just exists as a fun convenient hangout spot to catch basically every fish in... and best of all there's insane griefing potential (meowing/barking, punching people into the water to drown them, playing guitar badly, drawing stupid shit all over the ground at spawn) yet zero consequences for actually getting griefed. if someone drowns you it literally does not affect you for longer than like five seconds.
also you can buy scratch offs and get drunk. i really appreciate that. i dislike the way a lot of cozy games seem to be stuck in a kid friendly tone owing to their origins in E and E10+ games/websites, only ever vaguely referring to adult topics, even while being marketed heavily towards nostalgic adults who grew up on the original ds or played a lot of neopets. just because i want a simple gameplay style doesn't mean i want to be babied; i want the simplicity because i'm an adult with realass adult responsibilities and don't have time/energy to grind, not because i'm still mentally ten years old and blanche at mature topics. and so i really appreciate the way webfishing will scratch that itch for "wild world if it was just fishing and able sisters" while also letting you have bloodshot eyes, wear a hat that says "i love peeing", and then blow all your money on beer and scratch offs. like honestly truly who else is doing it like webfishing
