my interpretation of sigyn family tree
Tumblr media
now why didn’t I give her and Idunn a mother? Bc I didn’t wanna make her, they do have a mother but let’s just say she just disappeared I guess, and for frigg being the mother of Sjöfn and Lofn? That is because since I didn’t wanna make freyja their mother so I went for the next best thing😂
Edit : this family tree is sorta fucked up now that I think about it

Be A Good Girl For Daddy
Summary: When Loki’s son breaks up with you, his father has a tempting plan for revenge.
Pairing: Dilf Loki x F. Reader
Warnings: Toxic relationship. Mentions of you getting cheated on. Daddy Kink. Smut. 18+ Only. Minors DNI.
W/C: 1.4k
See my Masterlist Here
Your relationship with Narfi had been rocky from the start. He was mercurial. You had to walk on eggshells just to keep him happy. Every time there was an argument, he mentioned how there was no shortage of women waiting to be with him. You were replaceable. He never let you forget it. Despite everything, you loved him.
On his best days, he was sweet, loving, Prince Charming come to life. You loved everything about him, including his family. His brother, Vali was the exact opposite. He was the perfect partner to his wife, Olivia. You couldn’t help your jealousy. He never fought with her or raised his voice, especially not in public. You weren’t sure he was even capable of losing his temper.
But where Narfi lacked manners, his father, Loki made up for it. He would always open doors for you, pull your chair out, refill your drinks, get you flowers on special occasions. He was always scolding Narfi for his treatment of you.
One night after a particularly heated argument, Loki told you that you deserved better than his son. Still you stayed in a relationship, you should have left years ago.
Tonight was the end of that, though. You had caught Narfi texting with another girl and from the conversation, you could tell he had been sleeping with her. When you confronted him, he broke up with you. He said that you were insecure and he he didn’t know why he kept you around so long. You had wore your sexiest dress for him tonight, and you still weren’t enough.
To make a bad situation worse, he did it in front of his family. Vali and Olivia tried to comfort you, but you were too shocked, too hurt. You couldn’t move. You just sat on the steps, your face in your hands, sobbing. They finally gave up and left for their apartment.
Loki let you cry in peace, busying himself by cleaning his house. You weren’t sure how long you’d been there, but you knew it was too long when Narfi came in with the woman he was cheating with. They both stared at you for a moment before walking passed you.
“You’re still here? She’s so pathetic.” He says making the girl laugh as they walk by. You rolled your eyes at the irony. He was calling you pathetic when he was so terrible with money that he couldn’t keep a steady job. He couldn’t afford rent or pay his bills so he had to live with his father.
Loki saw the whole interaction and came to check on you. He reaches his hand out to you. You take it, letting him lead you to the kitchen. “Dry your tears, sweet girl. I’ve told you, you deserve better.” You sniff wiping the tears from your eyes. “I know, I should have listened to you. Then I wouldn’t be in this mess.”
Your gaze lingers on Loki’s handsome features. You thought it was crazy that he had been single for so long. Part of Narfi’s appeal had been that he was almost as gorgeous as his father. You had hoped he would age like him too.
Dwelling in your heartbreak gave you time to think. You wished you had met Loki first. You’d be lying if you said you hadn’t made yourself come to the thought of him more than once. His bedroom was beside Narfi’s. After having less than satisfying sex with Narfi, you would touch yourself thinking of him.
Narfi would take a shower right after, leaving you to take care of yourself. It wouldn’t take long for you to get yourself off when you thought of Loki next door. You always tried to be silent just in case he could hear you, but a few months ago his name slipped passed your lips. If he heard you, he hasn’t said anything or acted differently around you.
“You were too good for him. I raised him to be a gentleman, but obviously I failed there.” Loki’s voice clears your thoughts. You take his hand in yours to comfort him. “It’s not your fault he’s such an asshole. It’s silly, but I always wished he was more like you.”
Loki’s eyebrow quirks at your words. He cups your face, placing his thumb on your bottom lip. “I know the perfect way to get back at him.” Your eyes light up. You would love to get revenge for everything he had put you through. You knew Loki to be quite the trickster, so this should be good.
“We could sleep together.” He suggests as serious as a heart attack. “I don’t know. That’s a little inappropriate, isn’t it?” Loki leans against the table. He’s acting if what he’s just said isn’t ridiculous. “Darling, I can fuck you better than he ever could. You think I don’t hear you on the other side of the wall? I know he doesn’t fuck you right. And don’t pretend like you’re not attracted to me. I’ve heard you moaning my name while you touch yourself. What better way to get revenge than to fuck his father?”
He smiles at you in that way that makes him impossible to resist. He makes it very hard to argue with him. You clear your throat. “If I agree, would we tell Narfi?” Loki considers for a moment. “If you want to tell him, we will.” He smirks. “Or it could be our little secret.” You jump on the counter, beckoning him closer with your finger.
Loki takes his place between your legs, his eyes full of lust. “We will just keep it between us. I love that he won’t know. It makes this so much hotter. The knowledge that his dad made me cum, and he never could is the best revenge.”
Loki’s large hand rests on the back of your neck, bringing your face to his. His lips collide with yours. You feel his muscled back through his button up. Your fingers fumble trying to undo each button. You become frustrated, settling for pulling the material between your hands as hard as you can.
A few buttons spring free. Loki chuckles darkly. “Impatient, are we?” He removes his shirt for you. He brings his hands down to your thighs, eventually landing on your stomach. He pushes you gently laying you down on the cool marble of the high top.
“A delicious meal spread out for me on the counter. I have no choice, but to eat.” He lowers his head between your thighs, swift fingers pull your panties down your legs. He wastes no time. His warm tongue rolling in waves against your clit. You clutch his shoulders, moans falling from your lips.
He places his arms underneath you, tilting your hips upward. He sucks and nips at you until you’re an incoherent mess. He seals his mouth to your clit, the pressure causing you to come undone. He unbuttons his pants, his hard cock jutting outward. He lifts you off the high top, pulling your dress up for better access. He lines you up with his throbbing length. Loki sinks into you, backing you up against the stove.
His rough fingers dig into your hips as he lowers you back onto himself. He rocks into you harder now, basically using you as a fuck toy. Your back roughly hits the knobs on the stove. It hurts, but you don’t mind. All you can focus on is this force of a man, slamming into you.
He moves you toward the table, switching positions, so now he’s behind you. He spreads your legs wider, sinking into you from this new angle. His thumb finds your clit, strumming with expertise. You arch your back for him, throwing your ass back to meet every thrust.
He takes your hair in his hands, pulling harder with every lunge. “My precious little slut. Such a good girl for me. Tell me who you belong to.” He commands, circling your clit. The fire in your belly rising, bringing you closer to the edge.
“I’m yours, Daddy.” His movements are rougher now. He grips your hips harder pulling you back against him. His cock plunges deeper, hitting your sweet spot. You cry out. Your knuckles grip the edge of the table.
“That’s it, come for Daddy.” His finger swirls your slick bud with perfection in tandem with his large hand slapping against your ass. You shatter as he continues bringing his hand down against your soft flesh. He talks you through it like you always fantasized he would. “So perfect. You take me so well.”
You feel his thrusts grow sloppy and know he is close too. He stills, spilling inside you. His ragged breath tickling your neck. You lay there for a minute against the table with Loki still buried deep inside you.
You hear footsteps so you glance up. “You fucked my dad?!” Narfi exclaims, looking from you to his father, still buried inside you. “I always knew you were a dirty slut. This just proves it.” Narfi spits the insult at you, usually his words would sting. Now they don’t bother you at all. Loki looks at his son, smirking as he slaps you on the ass in front of him. “She was a good girl for Daddy.”

i could use your help ♥
for those of you that know, i hosted a writing challenge over the summer, called "an offering of frith" (please go there for all the information on the challenge)
if anyone is interested in writing for this challenge, then you're in luck because i've had to give someone's slot away since they never communicated with me. i’m sure they have their reasons, but i'm assuming they won't write anything and that goes against part of the challenge rules.
the info about the god to help you will be under the cut, as well as the moodboard for you to use for inspo and/or the cover image of the fic.
Tumblr media
so, if anyone is interested in writing about javi gutierrez being matched up with the norse god Baldr, then please, send me a dm.
thank you ♥

Baldr
Son of Odin and Frigg and god of light and purity. Very well loved among the gods. Described as being "so beautiful it's as if the sunlight itself is coming off of him".
There are two versions of one of the major sagas including Baldr’s death. The first tells of Baldr being stabbed in single combat by his brother. Baldr is then avenged by Vali by killing Hodr. The other tale is Baldr being killed by Hodr, his blind brother, provoked by Loki, throwing sharpened mistletoe at him.
It's said his wife, Nanna, actually dies of grief when he passes. This shows how devoted they were to one another.
Perceived as being invulnerable (except for mistletoe). Could be related or similar to Achilles, strong and undefeated except for the one small weakness. Read the Hel and Loki summaries for more information.
Could also represent death and rebirth. Ultimately we don’t really know all that much despite his importance and the amount of love he was given in life.
Along with being a god of light, he’s also seen as the god of lamentations, who aids in grief and would almost be a companion to Hel as someone who would welcome those arriving in Helheim. You could almost see him as that guiding light into the afterlife.

𝐒𝐈𝐆𝐘𝐍 𝐌𝐎𝐎𝐃𝐁𝐎𝐀𝐑𝐃: Norse Mythology
In Norse mythology, Sigyn is an ásynja goddess, her parents are unknown, but it is generally believed that her ancestry is the Aesir. She is the goddess of Loyalty, Faithfulness & Compassion. Due to the fragmentary nature of the primary sources for Norse mythology, only one scrap of lore regarding Sigyn survives that gives any indication of her personality and mythological roles, the tale of Loki’s punishment for killing Baldr. In that tale, when the Gods captured Loki, they turned one of his sons, Vali, into a wolf. The wolf then ripped apart his brother Narfi. The boy’s entrails hardened into an iron chain, and the Gods used this grotesque fetter to bind Loki in a cave deep beneath the earth. The Gods also placed a snake above Loki that would drip venom onto his head. Like a model of a traditional and dutiful wife, Sigyn sat by Loki’s side with a bowl to catch the drops of snake venom so that they wouldn’t touch her husband’s head. Every so often, however, she would have to leave the cave to pour out the bowl. In her absence, a few drops of poisonous venom would fall onto Loki’s forehead. This caused him to writhe in agony, which in turn caused earthquakes on the surface of Midgard, the world of humans. Sigyn’s story is also one of victory; victory over wrenching circumstances, pain, loss, despair, and anguish. She chooses to endure, and by doing so, she triumphs. As Fuensanta Arismendi, an ardent Sigyn’s woman once said, “Sigyn’s strength is in her heart. Her heart is invincible.”

Would love to hear five fun facts about an AU where one of the other Two Rivers boys is the Dragon Reborn - Mat or Perrin, the choice is yours.
[Send me a potential AU and I'll answer with five things from that story!]
Going with Mat here-
Since I have such a hard time separating the idea of Rand from the idea of the Dragon, as both mythological figure and for LTT reasons, I'd probably approach this from the angle that Mat is the 'champion of the light' in this specific turning, i.e still the Gambler/Son of Battles archetype, but whose past life resulted in the Breaking of the World, and who must now redeem himself through defeating the Dark One in the present era, and re-sealing the Bore. I would keep the trickster fox symbolism, but mix in heavy elements of Loki (in particular the bits surrounding the death of Balder, and the murder of his sons Nari and Vali as punishment/use to bind him). I would also replaced Callandor (which is an OG exaclibur refrence) with Lævateinn, one of Loki's mythological weapons, an draw heavy parallels with both Gungir and the arrow crafted to slay Balder of mistletoe.
Mat struggles a lot more then Rand with certain aspects of being the savior, less so with others. He's far, far more resistant to accepting his fate especially in the begging, and the story would need to force him into a position where he had the illusion of choice. Rand could be compelled by duty and compassion to accept he is The Dragon- Mat would defiantly refuse just to spite fate.
I would keep the idea that Mat was born outside the Two Rivers, but not make him Aiel born. Instead I'd probably make him Seanchan born- instead of the Aiel War twenty years ago, it was the First Seanchan invasion, with them being beaten back at the Bloodsnows instead, in a decisive (but costly) Westlands victory. Instead of Maiden of the Spear, Mat's biological mother would have been a Deathwatch Guard, likely someone also originally from the Westlands, with a parallel story to Shaiel'sl. His father would have been an Imperial Prince (an adoptive brother of Radhanan's/potential threat to her power) placed in charge of the invasion as a suicide mission/punishment for disgrace.
Conversely it is the Seanchan that Mat has to bind to aid him rather then the Aiel- something he struggles with a lot more then Rand did with the Aiel, though he also feels a lot less guilty about upending their culture and social order then Rand did. This also means he spends TSR/TFOH journeying to, then having to directly confront the Court of the Nine Moons et all, where has to reveal the secret lies of which the Empire predicates it's strength. This leaves Tuon in Couladin's approximate role: the rallying point of Imperial opposition, attempting to pry loose Mat's grip on power.
Because I am, in my heart of hearts a filthy Cauthor shipper- I would have Rand remain at Mat's side as confidant and guardian through to the bitter end. In my head he ends up taking up the dagger in order to protect Mat from Mordeth, and almost consumed by it in a similar way before breaking free/being healed. Though I wouldn't have him Aiel born, I probably would give him an parallel Aiel Training Arc to both help get over Dagger Withdrawal Syndrome and find his niche (assuming he can't channel in this turning).

our primeval chaos this round,
GINNUNGAP: an area of abyss in between Niflheim (ice) and Muspelheim (fire). when these two regions grew in power and clashed, water was created
for once we only have one creation myth,
YMIR/AURGELMIR/BRIMIR/BLAINN: ancestor of the jotnar, he was born from venom that dripped from the rivers in Ginnungagap. fed on the milk of Auðumbla, Ymir bore a male and female out of his armpits and a six-headed being from between his legs. Odin, Vili, and Ve created earth from his flesh, oceans/rivers/lakes from his blood, mountains from his bones and teeth, trees from his hair, clouds from his brain, heavens from his skull, and Midgard from his eyebrow

Odin crowned himself king of the gods as he was the first one to decide to kill Ymir. he allowed himself to be hung from Yggdrasil for nine days and nine nights in order to understand the secrets of the runes and sacrificed one of his eyes in order to see the cosmos more clearly. some stories claim he could shape and understand Wyrd and Orlog. he had wolves named Gerki and Freki, ravens named Huminn and Muninn, and an eight legged horse named Sleipnir
FRIGG: once may have been the same goddess as Freyja, she is queen of the Aesir and goddess of beauty, love, and fertility, she was gifted with the power of foresight
BALDUR: son of Odin and Frigg, he was the pinnacle of beauty and likeability. his only weakness was mistletoe
HODR: son of Odin and Frigg, the blind god, he is tricked by Loki into shooting a mistletoe arrow, which kills Baldur
VALI: in some stories he's the son of Odin and the jotun Rindr, in others he's the son of Loki, but it makes more sense for him to be a son of Loki so let's just go with this. conceived to avenge his brother Baldur, which he did by killing Hodr and binding Loki with the entrails of Narfi
VIDAR: son of Odin and the jotun Gríðr, he is the god of vengeance, and is fortold to avenge his father by killing the wolf Fenrir at Ragnarok

LOKI: god of mischief, wealth, and chaos. his children often caused trouble for other gods, Fenrir being the great wolf of Ragnarok, Jormungandr being the arch enemy of Thor, and Hel, who ruled Helheim
HEL: daughter of Loki and the jotun Angrboda, goddess of the underworld, she was tasked with taking care of the souls that ended up in her realm (since some ended up in Odin's Valhalla and some ended up in Freyja's Folkvangr)
NARFI: son of Loki and the goddess Sigyn, killed by Vali
clan Vanir
NJORD: patriarch of clan Vanir, god of wind, water, and fortune, he was the patron of fishermen and sailors

mobius is odin variant. if not why his younger son burns things down and is miscellaneous and chaotic like loki and has a green bicycle while the older kid has a red bicycle and is responsible one who gets to take care of the younger one and bonus point - the older kid likes SNAKES! sounds familiar? "He knew I loved snakes so he transformed himself into a snake......"
Too many coincidences to ignore+ Don and Odin have 3 common alphabets
mobius is Loki's husband variant. if not why does he have two sons from him (Narfi and Vali), and who want a puppy Fenrir and a snake Jormungand to appear in their family?
and do you often preen up to talk to a variant of your father? because it seems a little strange to me.
anyway, Loki and Odin? I haven't shipped that yet. sounds like a challenge. I love challenges

"Smite!Sigyn relationship chart"
I can't stop myself from these charts and my variants! Base made by @atreyushortcake💚
Tumblr media
Relationship info ⬇️
Loki:
Before the traumatic events Loki was a playful, loving and passionate lover that tried his best to be a father despite the issues he constantly found himself in. He really appreciates Sigyn for always being there to support him, even after he was the final blow to their family that already suffered so many looses. He feels like he did one thing right and that was choosing Sigyn as his second wife, secretly admiring her ability to go through so much and still be standing up straight. He would know that first hand.
These days, he is aware of how he has changed to be a little unhinged and that he can be a bit rough in nature. Sigyn even though she deeply misses the man Loki once was, could never stop loving him even when he turned out the way he did. She understands Loki better than anyone because she saw how he changed, she saw how cruelty made a monster out of him. But when he gets out of line she isn't afraid to voice her opinion either, even if it gets to the point of physically having to stop him in doing something stupid.
Hel:
Sigyn's relationship with Hel has always been very good from the start, since Hel desperately needed a parent to support her during those early years. Which Loki sadly wasn't able to do at the time, being a single parent with three kids, grieving over his previous wife. Sigyn was always there to teach, comfort and play with Hel whenever she needed it, causing the young girl to see her as a role model to the point she dyed her hair blonde when she got older to look like Sigyn's biological daughter.
After Hel was cast down to Helheim and forced to rule as it's queen, she remembered Sigyn's ways and used them with the same compassion and love to her people. Sigyn is also the reason why Hel enjoys baking cookies so much! Sigyn always saw Hel as her own daughter and is constantly proud of her, unlike Loki when she uses her abilities for good. Even though they both have soft spots for each other Sigyn is not afraid to deal with Hel's more darker side when necessary.
Fenrir:
Fenrir doesn't like to admit that he has feelings for anyone, but secretly that's not true. He was always distant and trying to act tough even as a pup. Despite this Fenrir is very protective of his step-mother and even the younger siblings she gave him. After all she was there for him and his siblings, always able to feed him and cuddle when he needed it. Which ironically is what fenrir prioritizes more than anything, eating like a king. Sigyn admittedly, while she finds Fenrir adorable even as an adult has to scold him a lot when he acts out (its not like everyone does that) but does tend to spoil him with his favorite dishes.
Jormi:
While Sigyn didn't get to know Jormungandr that well compared to his other siblings after he was cast away by Odin as a little baby into midgard. She still loves the big guy unconditionally and remembers him fondly as her son. Jormungandr in return does the same, recalling what little memories he has of their time spent together. He also recognizes Sigyn as family, despite his negative feelings towards the rest of his family (aka Loki.) While the giant snake often finds himself a bit jealous or upset that he never got to experience growing up with a mother like her, Sigyn tries to make up for it with the best of her abilities today.
Narfi and Vali:
Obviously Sigyn would be close with her two youngest sons, Narfi and Vali. They were her little miracles from the moment they arrived into the world. She spent a lot of their childhood caring for them and the boys really saw how much she tried, especially when they struggled. They appreciated their mothers efforts in making life easier and better for them. Even more so after their shared traumatic experience in..the cave. When Hel reunited Sigyn with Narfi she got very attached to her ghostly son and kept Vali around despite him being stuck in wolf form. The children feel the same way, not able to leave their mother's side and barely trusting anyone but her, they're very protective of each other.
The Morrigan:
Sigyn doesn't know The Morrigan on the same level as Hel does but sees her as a very good allay to keep around, especially during battle. After all she is a goddess of war! Sigyn is also admittedly quite charmed by the phantom queen. As weird as it may sound, she is able to see a lot of similarities between her and Loki, such as their ability to shapeshift, trick people and be charismatic little things. She and Hel must have a type!
Chang e:
It might be a bit strange for someone like Sigyn to befriend Chang e out of all the goddesses there are out there. But they're almost exactly the same in personality, if we look away from Sigyn's unhinged side. They're both lonely women, isolated from everyone and just want their husbands back into their lives. Specifically before things went eouth and changed. They find comfort in each others company and often see each other just to gossip and in general talk. Also Jade is a great therapy pet, even though Sigyn can barely feel her hands she loves petting him!
Ymir:
It's truly not everyday you see half of your families first ancestor now is it? She hasn't spoken to Ymir too much because of his lacking vocabulary. But that doesn't stop her from finding his innocent and naive personality hilarious, she laughs and finds it very enjoyable in the highest respect! Ymir isn't really offended by it, neither does he really understand it or who she is to him. So often you'll hear him refer to her as "bowl woman"
"Bowl woman put food in bowl?"
"No Ymir, it's to throw poison at you-"
Ratatoskr:
Ratatoskr and Sigyn love gossip and when she isn't on the battlefield, instead wondering what's going on in the world.. Ratatoskr will happily be at her service and report back if she has something scandalous about the norse gods. Obviously being the wife of the trickster god, Sigyn would know a few good tales that would surely embarrasse the whole all of Valhalla. There isn't really anything more to their dynamic other than Sigyn teasing Ratatoskr, treating him as her little messenger boy. In return he leaves making a fuss, finding Loki to report back on everything she told him just to spite her. Why wouldn't the most mischievous squirrel in all the nine realms be friends with the mischief maker and his wife?
Nike:
Sigyn and Nike are both victory goddesses and while Sigyn is the more introverted type between the two. Nike is very respectful and understanding towards what the poor woman and what she went through, when she heard what had happened. When they first met it was out on the battlefield and Sigyn was the first to start mocking her, it being very tense since they we're hunting each other down. Eventually it turned into playful banter and when they met a few times, they both love making it into a competition to settle who is the better victory bringer.
Heimdallr:
They know each other and unlike Loki, Sigyn isn't Heimdallr's enemy. No matter how many times her husband complains about him, to convince Sigyn to hate him as much as he does. Sigyn at least tries to stay out of their bickering for her own sanity and often makes fun of them for it. Loki doesn't take this as humorous as Heimdall does if he is there to hear it. All in all Sigyn and Heimdall respect each other, to the point where Heimdall sometimes finds himself hesitant to attack Sigyn on the battlefield.
Freyja:
Sigyn's relationship with Freyja is complicated, not because she is her mother and sometimes a daughter can fall out of touch. It's the fact Sigyn is married to Loki, someone the goddess is famously known to despise for his antics. Even worse, Freyja isn't happy with what her daughter went through but then again didn't actively try to stop it from happening or offer her support. Though she might've had her reasons not to interfere when things went down. This in return has made Sigyn feel like she can't trust the woman she calls mother and is very distant. You can imagine how awkward things are during family gatherings..
Skadi:
Initially, Sigyn didn't hold any resentment towards Skadi for marrying into her family through her grandfather, Njord. Sigyn could not fault Skadi for seeking vengeance and eventually finding a place among them. However, everything changed when Skadi, in an act of unforgivable betrayal, hung that cursed snake above Loki during his punishment. The same one Sigyn has now turned into her weapon. The goddess had hoped that Skadi saw them as family and Loki as a friend for making her laugh so many years ago.
To her, the respect she once held for Skadi evaporated instantly. The cut so deep, turning any lingering feeling into a burning desire for blood. If Sigyn were to encounter Skadi on the battlefield, there would be no hesitation in hunting her down. On the other hand, Skadi views Sigyn's loyalty to Loki to be foolish. She cannot fathom why Sigyn would choose to remain by Loki's side, enduring torment and suffering for a being she considers irredeemable. In Skadi's eyes, Sigyn's hatred is misplaced, her judgment clouded by a misguided sense of loyalty. They're far from fond of each other!
Odin:
Sigyn harbors deep hatred for Odin, not just because of his past wrong doings against her family with Loki, but because of the ultimate betrayal he inflicted by taking away their remaining children, the ones Odin considered "normal" enough for them to keep til the very bitter end. Odin's actions led to the death of one son and the disappearance of another, leaving their blood on his hands. While Odin might feel some remorse because they were innocent young children, he remains set that he made the right decision. In his mind, punishing Loki for Baldr's death was worth any price, even if it meant shattering Loki's sanity and destroying what little family Sigyn had left. He doesn't feel bad for the couple, blaming them for the way they turned out in the end.

Note
Norse mythology has two Valis!! One is Odin's son, one is Loki's. Vali is Odin's and Rindr's child I believe,,,, which resulted from a very,,, disturbing way 🥲 I heard a few things that Vali (Odin's son) isn't even an actual figure besides from that myth but idk anything much about him personally because I choose to live in blissful ignorance and pretend the tale as a whole does not exist!!!
Tumblr media
Huh…yeah I found it now…For anyone curious and unaware like I was, TW for SA
So I saw something where he possibly had another name and there are other ways that Odin went about trying to get that avenger as soon as possible. So slot this story into the “Eh, idk maybe this happened” spot of Norse mythology

Ballad of Sigyn ( a norse Myth poem )
People told of the tale of the Old Gods of the North
Thor with his hammer
Sif with her grain
My husband Loki with his tricks
And I was most known for me standing by my husband in the Twilight of the Gods
But what if I told you my story
As I treated ye listeners to honeydew tea and raspberry cake in Valhalla
My story is not of common nature, nor of the faint hearted
I've seen just as much moons as much as any other gods
Some have called me ' soft '
How mistaken they are
Once I was a member of the Seidr order of Asgard,
Taught in the ways of pagan priesthood
Whisper in the ears of royals, handling library paperwork, call upon the spirits of nature
That was amongst my duties
My guardians would like to marry any of Odin's sons
Yet Thor, Baldr and Bragi are already Wed
So that leaves Tyr, Hodr and Hermodr ( I can't count how many children Odin had )
Yet I was not interested in any of those bachelor brothers
For a volva is selective with her mate
Then came Loki, a jotunn from another world, so tall, so handsome
His stride stood out from his other Aesir counterparts,
His smile charming and alluring
And when he first kissed my hand after our first dance,
I fell, and I fell hard
We began courting,
Rendezvous in the Palace gardens,
Him and I showing each other magical tricks
How wonderful it is to find someone
Who feels a similar sense of ' otherness ' in Asgard as me
He made me feel more confident of my Elven ears
I made him feel more at home in Asgard, even as a Jotunn
After much negotiation, he and I are wed by Frigg,
And I became a new Princess of Asgard
Years went by,
My sons came, and got along with Loki's other children from his 1st wife
I understood his past with Angrboda
And focused on mainly be a good wife to him
We understand each others' storms in ways several others can't
He would often go to battle with the sons of Odin,
And I would often stay behind, handling diplomatic and sorcery duties
And when he returns, he would rush to me and our children
Embracing us all and showing the world how much he loves us
And I would tend to his wounds as we tell more stories of each other
Our magic is unlike that in Asgard,
And I suppose that what's makes us frightening to some over there
Then, tragedy struck
Baldr was slain,
And my husband is to blame
Yet my husband was influenced by the Norns,
It was not like him to recklessly kill one of Odin's sons,
And I knew it
Yet nobody else seem to listen
And I watched as my husband was banished before me,
My sons killed before my eyes
And I raged, I raged, I raged
All the Nine Realms are cursed with wars against each other
My step daughter Hel, all grown up to be a fine young woman,
Now leading Loki's army against Odin,
After my banishment, I steadfastedly stood beside him,
And helped shield the poison with my bowl
While I cursed all those who killed my sons,
And entrusting Hel to have the final stroke of justice against my sons' deaths
Because hell hath no Fury a volva enraged
And some have to learn the hard way
Fenrir later swallowed Odin whole,
Vidar has slain Fenrir
And I gifted Hel Loki's magical archery set
As Hel delivered a final below at Vidar
And my soul feels at peace, at finally, my sons' murderers are slain
But what of the survivors? How Will they recover?
Only time will tell
At my husband's death, he smiled up at me with his devilishly handsome smile,
And said, ' Love, you've done enough. I will see you in Valhalla.....and hopefully, in another life. '
He smiled a satisfied smile and closed his eyes
Ans for once I could not scream, or say a word
I could only weep
Exhaustion crept through my body,
And days later, my eyes closed
I opened my eyes, and here I was in Valhalla.
The murders of my sons are not there
In first came my sons, who embraced me
And I embraced them in turn
And Vali and Narvi led me to their father
And there he sat, with mead in his hand, and Fenrir and Jormungandr with him. ( Hel took over rulership of Nornheim after Ragnarok )
And beamed at me in welcoming, my Prince of Mischief
