Rewriting Fizzarolli and Striker

Yeah I'm putting these two together because if I were to just do one it would be to short I feel

Fizzarolli

Fizz is a fucking menace. He causes chaos wherever he goes with no regard for others. He's a selfish jokester and an asshole and legit loves to bully people and make others feel smaller than he feels

I hate how the show ruined his character and just made him uwu sub boy who has to be protected by his big dom daddy. Make him be an asshole. You guys had it in the first half

Sure, he was a jerk before working under Mammon. But after? He can read you like a book. He knows immediately what your biggest insecurity and will bully you mercilessly about it

We don't meet Striker until the halfway point of season 1, but his character is foreshadowed a lot in the first couple episodes. Wanted posters, offhanded comments, ect. but the thing is... nobody knows it's Striker. When assassinating people, he keeps his identity hidden behind different pieces of clothing. But one thing that points to his identity is that one golden fang. A passerby claims that the assassin's mask slipped off for a split second, revealing a golden tooth. A couple other people has claimed to also see the golden fang. And until his identity is confirmed, they call the assassin Golden Fang. Too bad so many imps do, in fact, have a golden tooth

The only reason the higher ups care about this is because he's killing royals, and that's unacceptable

Striker is a cunning, manipulative, and charming imp. Like I said, we meet him at the Harvest Moon Festival, and it's revealed that he's actually a family friend of Millie and her family. Moxxie immediately doesn't like him and Striker is oblivious

Oh yeah I should probably go over the reason why he hates rich people. When Striker was only five, his family got killed by the Goetias. His family were trained fighters so they tried to fend off the Goetias. Striker, being smaller than them, and also a baby, just had to hide and hope for the best. He hid under his bed for five hours, hoping his ma or pa would come to retrieve him and tell him everything would be alright. But that never came

I first liked joe because he seemed normal, like genuinely average (which is not a bad thing) I think It was nice to see someone like him in the entertainment industry, not your typical pretty Hollywood boy and it was working no one can deny that, that’s what was appealing about him and I know many people found comfort on that and I don’t blame them.

The whole situation with DC did disappoint me but I wasn’t surprised, he’s a man after all and as I said before I took him out of the pedestal a long time ago.

But what it genuinely bothered me so much was the behaviour of the fandom, many people felt disappointed on him and expressed their opinions just to be harassed by others in the fandom, just because they want to defend a MAN.

Poc and black fans expressed their opinions,their concern and at least to me they expressed how they often feel left out of the conversation and what was the response…telling them that they’re making a big deal, you bullied a girl to deactivate and called her the N-word just because she was calling Joe out (and also DC). You called fans who question joe behaviour crazy and that have a parasocial relationship but it’s you who treat him like the f messiah, a 30 year old man that can do no wrong, he’s just uwu chocolate button eyes and everyone is mean to him, Joe CHOOSE to be with DC, real or pr, he wanted to be with her, it’s clear he wants the fame, the money I literally saw that when he choose to work with marvel so stop acting like he’s an innocent lamb.

With that being said, he can do whatever he wants that’s on him, I don’t pray on his downfall and I never will after all I had a great time while it lasted, I cracked some jokes, I had fun…but I’m not gonna be defending him he is responsible for his own actions and if he ruins his image, his career it’s on him.

To anyone who felt deeply affected by this whole situation, poc/black fans, victims of abuse, people who find comfort in being a fan, I just want to tell you that your feelings are valid and if you want to talk you’re very much welcome here. shit let me try to go as in depth as I can

nat: nat would keep his hair long and it would be a mullet, but the ends would be died black or brown. he’s got a small mustache growing on his lips and he’s got a big happy trail :3 nat’s got a very typical transmasc style (yknow the one with the big cargo shorts and the oversized band tee or a black tee) he dresses pretty grunge and if he’s wearing pants, he’ll add a keychain or carabiner to it. he likes wearing a lot of black and olive green and brown with his outfits.

taissa: most of taissa’s body hair is on his legs. he’d cut his hair short and would often wear ‘jock’ sorts of outfits like varsity/letterman jackets. tai keeps his style simple but very sporty and clean. taissa likes a lot of blue and red with her looks with an occasional brown.

misty: misty would cut his curly hair short too (it’d look something like the pic I’ll paste below) misty would have a very ‘soft boi uwu’ transmasc Steven universe sort of style😭😭😭lots of pastels, sweaters with button up shirts underneath, cuffed jeans, flowery patterns. he’d also wear a lot of accessories like colorful bracelets on his wrist or a geeky necklace. misty would very tumblr-esque if that makes any sense, very picrew avatar vibes. misty would also have the least body hair out of all of them.

van: Van’s style is basically Adam Sandler. anything that looks reminiscent to an Adam Sandler fit is what Van’s ass fucks around with. van leaves his hair long and keeps it down. he’s got some hair near his chin and he’s got sideburns growing in as well.

shauna: Shauna’s got the most body hair out of the group and he wears that shit proudly. (she has the most on her armpits) Shauna’s obsessed with flannel and button ups but also really likes to throw on a wife beater with some worn out jeans. he’s a fan of the cargo shorts too when it gets hot out and she also likes to keep a little necklace around her neck. shauna doesn’t cut his hair, but often ties it back in a ponytail and doesn’t like to keep it down.

jackie: Jackie’s style is often very preppy, fucks heavily with the collared shirts and the sweater vests. he dresses like a rich kid attending a private school and even tho he’s got more body hair than misty, he doesn’t have quite as much as the rest of the gang. jackie also really likes polo shirts or a pair of khakis.

and lastly LOTTIEEEE (lottie and taissa were the hardest since they are pretty fem overall cause even jackie has her masc moments):

Lottie’s also got a mustache growing on her upper lip (he can match with nat) and his style is very similar to Jackie’s. lottie also goes for a preppy look and enjoys sweaters (especially ones with buttons) (tho not the vest part). lottie’s hair is styled as a wolfcut. he’s also very much the type to tie his sweater around his back as an outfit.

I don’t know if you were ever involved in teen wolf fandom. But Stiles had a very similar fanbase like Buck. The difference is Buck has one ship with a fanbase sending out death threats and behaving terribly but Stiles has two ship - Sterek and Stydia. Both ship had batshit crazy fans. But most people with common sense knew Sterek was never happening cause Stiles was a teen and Derek was was an adult but Stydia like B*ddie always had a chance.

Very similar to Bucktommy there was a releation for a couple of seasons between Stiles and Malia that got the same treatment from both Sterek and Stydia like Buck and Tommy got from B*ddiesStiles and Malia also break up pretty abruptly.

For the final season Stiles and Lydia become a couple but the whole season was horrible. You can’t have a show with a couple and not have conflict. The whole fandom started nitpicking everything Lydia did because Stiles was their uwu baby boy. And the whole fandom was left so disappointed. They tried to satisfy them with the movie but the actor for stiles refused to be a part of it.

I can see something similar happening with B*ddie. They will happen in the final season but the moment there is a conflict people are going to turn against one of the characters. And in the end everyone is going to be left dissatisfied

while i don’t think a show that is afraid to utter the word bisexual after a season and a half of one of their main being an openly bi man would go as far as making another one of their main queer the chances aren’t 0.

AshenViper || Trust/Realization

It was too late when Azul realized how frail his own voice sounded…how vulnerable his blue eyes had been…how exposed his soul was to Jamil in that moment.  What a fool…what an utter fool Azul had been.

So I write a lot for funsies and TWST AUs with @eeveelution4567 that never see the light of day because we just focus on the drama between characters more than lore lol. For day one of AshenViper week I decided to share a bit of what I wrote for an Infection AU we had. It correlates with the prompt of the day! I REALLY like what I wrote so here's some of it. It's literally as any Infection AU would work, with the school being on lockdown and the infection turning peeps into crazy goobers yatta yatta. There is more i'm willing to share for maybe the Angst day that follows after this uwu. For now ENJOY THE OCTOPUS AND SNAKE BOYS.

Azul and Jamil were already tired when they made it safely to the alchemy lab. They made sure to hold themselves up there as securely as possible, rearranging furniture and making sure if anything got in that it wouldn't take them by surprise.

The plan currently was to wait about two days before going out and trying to scavenge what they could and hopefully figure out what exactly was happening. They had also planned to hopefully run into Vil and Crewel at some point. Those two WERE the queens of potion making afterall...as much as Azul really wanted to be the forefront of manufacturing a cure.

Azul had never seen Jamil so talkative and playful before. Jamil’s usual brand of ‘play’ was belittling him and taking jabs at every weakness he slipped up while Azul quickly tried to keep face. Most of the time, as they worked through possible potions and readings, they had talked about how the two of them were going to get so much praise and credit for figuring this out when everyone was too stupid and useless to.

Everyone would see the boundless intelligence of Jamil Viper and the endless resources of Azul Ashengrotto at full power. 

The world would quiver at their feet for eradicating a disease so quickly with such little resources while being still mages in school. It was fun. Imagining such a high honorable success. A success that would be too big for the Viper family to remain servants to the Al-Asims…a success that would put Ashengrotto on the radar of the most wealthy.

Their power would never be put into question again. They could be free….and happy…and bask in the fruits of their labors while sitting unbothered on top of the world.

On top of the world where no one could ever hurt them again. 

“Together?” Azul asked as looked into Jamil’s charcoal eyes with hope. They were worn and tired from the lack of sleep…and still he looked as beautiful and otherworldly as ever.

It was too late when Azul realized how frail his own voice sounded…how vulnerable his blue eyes had been…how exposed his soul was to Jamil in that moment. 

What a fool…what an utter fool Azul had been.

The mer flinched when he felt slender fingers intertwine with his own. Looking back at him were softened charcoal eyes…a genuine smile that sent a warmth into his soul. Jamil’s fingers tightened into Azul’s…expressing the same vulnerability Azul had shown.

Azul could see him. He could see through Jamil and right into his very heart and soul. The mutual desire to be with him.  Azul tightened his fingers with Jamil’s as he gave the other a sweet smile. 

“Together.” Jamil’s voice sang sweetly, confirming his want to be with Azul.

Azul couldn’t stop himself from leaning forward and taking Jamil’s lips into his own. A tender but passionate kiss. Jamil kisses back as well, allowing himself to fall into Azul and be swept into the sea witch’s embrace.

All it took for them to shut up and kiss already was the literal end of the world.

i find it honestly kind of insane how misunderstood komaeda is online like maybe its because i did his ftes on my own playtrough but just from playing dr2 once to me he never felt like a "uwu hope boy" or a "hope obsessed male junko", he just felt like his own guy with his own reasons that have nuance and arent bound to black and white good or bad mentalities, and because i got all of that from 1 playtrough i honestly thought nagito was not that hard to understand and now i see people boxing him on one or the other and i just sit there like did we play the same game ???????

im also someone that overthinks a lot and wants my interpretations of characters to line up with canon as much as i can and i dont dare to talk on the internet about characters i dont fully grasp so its bonkers to me how many people are so openly completely missing the entire point of nagitos character........

It really is annoying how some people completely miss his character or think he has to be stuffed in specific categories, part of what makes his character so great is that he cares so much and is so sweet but is morally gray when it comes to his absolute beliefs/obsessive coping mechanism but even in the end his moral grayness doesn't have ill intentions. He's messed up by the circumstances of his life and the diagnosis also impacts things, he's still a really sweet boy who cares a lot and all of that is a MIX. Nagito is basically the moral grayness added to Danganronpa 2 that makes its messages more impactful and interesting. Nagito is practically a parallel to both Makoto and Hajime, and with his own sweetness and personality, problematic coping mechanisms from circumstances/luck cycle, and appearance it creates somebody completely new and wonderful. Somebody who's Super LOVABLE!!! In fact Nagito is so easy to misinterpret that the Wiki actually says "He's revealed to be a psychopath," which kind of undermines everything about him as well as isn't actually correct to the definition of a psychopath >:(

also the male Junko thing is inherently wrong because his mindset is completely different and Junko is also well written in her own way, the crazy eyes make people think of it or make jokes about it but it's just completely wrong Lol. Nagito loves Hope and believes despair is absolutely NECESSARY for Hope. Again, more of a parallel to Makoto, Not Junko. And then for the whole "uwu" boy it's like, c'mon dude. I know you didn't say these and are indeed agreeing with annoyance with these statements but I get annoyed too so I wanted to add a mini ramble about it too HAHA!

Anyways, I guess overall I just wish people could enjoy him with completely understanding him more, It feels really good for me at least. Probably because he's the biggest special interest i've ever had in my life and mere mentioning him gives me happiness, but I digress I think he doesn't have to be put into specific boxes. Good people can do bad things, he's a complex character with a lot of depth. In a weird way his character is definitely over the top fantasy from the franchise being that way, but what Danganronpa does is make that feel real. In that aspect Nagito feels realistic with how he isn't just black or white.

General Kiyotaka Ishimaru Headcanons

Now THIS is my favorite character

This bad boy can fit so many headcanons it's crazy

Once he joined Hope's Peak, he got friends and learned to loosen up a bit, get some new hobbies and actually have fun.

So first off, he's not some "uwu soft boy" let's get that out of the way.

So mans athletic as fuck - probably joined a shit ton of sports as he grew up - all whilst balancing his grades ofc, you can't participate if you don't have good grades. Once he joined Hopes Peak he kept working out on his own time.

He participated in these sports specifically: soccer, swim, boxing, track and field, and kendo (his favorite is kendo)

He unintentionally got ripped due to all of it and it stuns his father to this day.

Like man drop your workout routine and meal preps that body of your is absurd.

Religiously takes cold showers. It scares everyone. He prefers it over warm showers. Even in winter.

Not as unpopular as many think. He's not a "cool kid™", but lots of people see him as a nice kid. No one really has an issue with him - unless they're a trouble maker, and if so, they despise the moral compass.

Otherwise, he's described as a nice dude, albeit loud and obnoxious at times.

Can't pick up on social cues for the life of him. Feels awful about it afterwards.

Fucking LOVES graphic novels and comics. Typically ones with an action hero or a fantasy setting. He's a dork. He usually hides it out of embarrassment, shame, or even guilt. At one point, Chihiro found one of his comics, prompting him to almost have a heart attack on the spot.

The same goes with anime. He rarely binges shows, but he'll put on some action or fantasy anime in the background while doing something else. Same thing with the comics, but less prone to have a heart attack.

Likes to spend his free time either hanging out with friends, studying, or look at pieces of art from other students. He's a big fan of Yonaga's work and often finds himself sitting in the art department to watch her work.

Big 'ol Art Historian btw. Big fan of the Romantic and Rococo Period.

He was once dragged into a gaming session with Chihiro and Mondo to play Mortal Kombat 9. Quickly chose a main and mastered it, always beating their asses whenever they play. (He's a Kenshi main)

Give him a topic and he will discuss it until you tell him to stop. Literally anything interests him - he's open for any discussion or debate.

Due to his friendship with Mondo, he unintentionally enlisted a gang of bodyguards that have his back 24/7. Even though he can defend himself just fine.

He likes dogs and cats well enough, but isn't exactly the best with animals, as he can't sit still long enough to let one get used to him. He strives to earn animals affection one day.

Also loves to play cards or other tabletop games - Celestia is often his opponent in that regard, indulging in his interest whilst teaching him tricks and techniques so she could have a formidable opponent.

And lastly, his sleep schedule is so fucked up.

Yasuhiro, Mondo, or his father have to drag him away from his work to make him go to sleep. If they don't catch him in time he will overwork himself before his body just forces itself to shut down.

On the bright side, it's given them some funny and ridiculous sights to walk in on.

Rooster hastily made his way to the bathroom, breathing maybe heavier than he ever planned to, his heart still heavy. He closed the door behind him and leaned against it, taking a deep breath as he tried to process everything.

The bathroom offered a moment of solitude,quietness and Rooster appreciated the chance to collect his thoughts. He sighs, rubbing his face with both hands, then leaning against the sink to splash some cold water on his face, hoping it would help clear his mind.

He holds himself on the cold porcelain, letting the chilled surface give him a bit of a temperature shock, dropping his head in front of the mirror. 

Okay, yeah, he was surprised. But he had seen his dad back at their wedding, he did…why was he freaking out anyway then?

He found himself reflecting on the memories of his father. Trying to remember the best he could, it wasn’t a lot. Flashes mainly, pictures never finished of memories he couldn’t recall correctly anymore. 

As he looked at his reflection in the bathroom mirror, Rooster couldn't help but wonder if the figure he had glimpsed in the nursery was indeed his father. It seemed like an improbable idea, yet Martha's words had struck a chord with him.

Besides, would it be so crazy?

Rooster sighed, feeling a mixture of emotions. He missed his father deeply and would give anything for a chance to see him again, even if only in a fleeting moment. And if that was it…he’d take it.

After a few moments,  he heard her soft footsteps and Nicole’s gentle babbling approaching the door, and what followed were her knocking and her voice asking him if he was okay, “You don’t have to come out if you don’t want to.” she reassures him immediately “Zia Martha said you can stay there as long as you need.”

He chuckles softly, dropping his head to follow the designs on the marbled surface, chewing the inside of his cheek before replying, “I’m okay gorgeous.”

“You sure?”

He lifts his head to look once more at his reflection and huffs through his nose, “Surprisingly, yes.”

“...Can I come in,Roos?”

Rooster took a moment to compose himself, his thoughts gradually settling as he looked at his reflection in the bathroom mirror. He couldn't deny the emotional impact of what he had experienced earlier, the sudden glimpse of a figure in the nursery, and the possibility that it might have been his father.

With a sigh, Rooster pushed himself away from the sink and turned the doorknob, opening the bathroom door to find Beatrice standing there, her expression filled with concern and care. She held Nicole in her arms, the baby looking up at her father with curious eyes and that few toothed grin he adored so much.

Rooster managed a small smile as he stepped out of the bathroom, reaching out to gently touch Nicole's tiny hand. "Hey there, little birdie," he cooed, his voice soft and warm. "You keeping an eye on me?"

Beatrice offered him a tender smile, her love for both Rooster and Nicole evident in her eyes. "We were just worried about you, Roos," she admitted, her fingers brushing a strand of hair away from his forehead. "You sure you are okay?"

Rooster leaned down to press a gentle kiss on Nicole's forehead before looking back at Beatrice. H"I'm alright,gorgeous," he assured her with a soft smile. "I just needed a moment to clear my head. But I'm back now."

Beatrice nodded, adjusting her hold on Nicole as she closes the bathroom door "I'm glad you're feeling better," she said, her voice gentle. "You know you can always talk to me, right? About anything."

Rooster's smile widened, touched by Beatrice's words. "I know,gorgeous," he replied, his voice sincere. "And I appreciate it. “

“Also…I…” she rubs her neck, “Um…I know this whole thing with…spirits is kinda weird but–”

“I married you.” he smiles, “All of you, including whatever Sicilian magic is within and around you,gorgeous. Don’t apologize,I know you want to. Besides, when you told me about Nicole I didn’t freak out that much did I?” and he leans his lower back against the bathroom counter, “Even if she wasn’t born yet she was there.”

Beatrice's eyes softened with affection as she looked at Rooster, then walked to stand close to him, her back doing the same as his "You're amazing, Roos," she said, her voice filled with love. “I just wanted to make sure, is all.”

“Yeah,I know.” he whispers, inhaling quietly, “...it could also just be in my head. Maybe I should tell my therapist that whenever I’m able to.”

Beatrice nodded in understanding, her fingers gently lacing with Rooster's. "Telling your therapist about it is a good idea," she agreed. "Hopefully Dr.Paulson can figure out something else too."

Rooster smiled, "Thank you,gorgeous," he said softly. "You always know how to make me feel better."

Beatrice returned his smile and leaned in to place a sweet kiss on his lips. "That's what I'm here for," she replied with a playful wink. "To make everything better."

Rooster chuckled, kissing the top of her head "Well, you do a damn good job of it," he said, his voice filled with affection. “...do you really think it’s my dad,though?”

“Hm?”

“That I saw.”

Bea opens her mouth, then closes, adjusts Nicole to her opposite side and finally answers it, ‘Yes.” she says, without missing a beat, “...I…we…my family has seen a lot of wild things,Roos. So…I wouldn’t put it past that. I mean I saw my nonna at our wedding…”

“I saw my dad there too.” he answers and he frowns, because he hasn’t told her about it he doesn’t think. “...I…I think I forgot to tell you? It was when I was toasting with the guys, he just,” and he moves his hand in the air, “Showed up.”

Beatrice's eyes widened in surprise "You... you saw your dad at our wedding?" she asked, her voice quiet with amazement.

Rooster nodded, his expression thoughtful as he recalled the memory. "Yeah" 

Beatrice couldn't contain her curiosity. "What did he look like?" she inquired, leaning closer to him.

Rooster paused, as if trying to find the right words to describe the vision of his father. "He looked... like himself," he began slowly. "Just like I remembered him. He was wearing the suit he wore for his and mom’s wedding I think.”

She listened intently, her heart touched by the description, trying her best to contain the tears. "That sounds incredible," she murmured, her fingers tracing comforting circles on Rooster's hand. "Did…did he do anything?"

Rooster's lips curled into a fond smile as he recounted the moment, eyes stinging just a bit. "He raised his glass, just like the rest of us," he said. " I couldn't believe my eyes."

Beatrice couldn't help but smile in response.Wiping her eyes quickly before he could notice her tears - which he had already obvlousy "Roos…”

Rooster nodded, his gaze distant as he revisited the memory. "I know. I don’t know why I didn’t tell you.” he shrugs, exhaling through his nose, “I guess…I kinda wanted to keep that in. Hell didn’t tell anyone.”

She looks down at Nicole, then up at him "I'm glad you shared it with me now, if it makes you feel any better." she said softly, her voice filled with tenderness. "It's…really amazing."

Rooster's gaze met hers, and he smiled affectionately at his wife. "Yeah," he agreed, his voice warm. "I think so too. It's like...sometimes, the people we love find a way to be with us during the most important moments." he chuckles, “You think…he wants to tell me something?”

“Maybe?” she shrugs gently, “Hard to say…would you like him to?”

Rooster considered Beatrice's question for a moment, his thoughts drifting to the possibility of his father wanting to communicate with him. It was a notion that both intrigued and unnerved him. After all, he had lost his father at a young age and had always carried a sense of longing to reconnect with him.

He turned his gaze toward the window, where the evening sky was beginning to darken, and the first stars appeared. "I've always wished I could talk to him again," he admitted, his voice soft. "To hear his advice, to share my life with him, and to let him know how much he meant to me."

Beatrice reached out to gently cup Rooster's cheek, her touch tender "I think," she began, her voice equally gentle, "if your dad is trying to reach out to you, it's because he loves you and wants to guide you through life's challenges. Maybe he sees how much you've grown and how much you've accomplished."

Rooster couldn't help but smile at Beatrice's words, feeling a warmth spread through his chest. "You always know the right thing to say,gorgeous," he said, leaning into her touch.

She chuckled softly, her eyes filled with affection. "I just speak from the heart," she replied, her thumb caressing his cheek. "And I truly believe that your dad would be incredibly proud of you."

Rooster's smile widened, but his eyes clenched in pain as he heard those words.He leaned in to press a loving kiss on Beatrice's palm. "Thank you," he murmured against her mouth. "I’d go insane without you.”

Beatrice’s face reddened but she kept rubbing his face, “...You don’t have to thank me,Roos. Really…if it helps you,I’ll do my best.”

Rooster nodded, his heart filled with gratitude and love for the amazing woman in his life. "Yeah," he agreed, "Always,

Unfortunately they had to go home after a while and deal with them before anything else. Hell they didn’t even park at their house first, they stopped at the Haltons. Beatrice was holding Nicole close to her chest, looking back at Rooster only to do a double take towards his face, “Baby.”

“What?’

“Rooster you look–” she approaches him, gently smoothing his brows, “You look ready to murder someone. We just want the information about the dinner, that’s all. And-and we’ll only meet them on friday, so…”

Rooster took a deep breath as Beatrice touched his face, her concern evident in her gentle touch and worried expression. He hadn't realized how tense he had become until she pointed it out. It was as if a switch had been flipped, and the prospect of meeting the Haltons had brought a surge of anxiety and anger to the surface.

He tried to offer Beatrice a reassuring smile, though he knew it didn't quite reach his eyes. "I know,gorgeous," he replied, his voice a bit strained. "I just...I can't help but feel protective, especially after everything that's been happening. But you're right. We're just gathering information today." his jaw moves and she knows his anger hasn’t dissipated, “I’ll behave.”

Beatrice nodded in understanding, her fingers still lingering on his face for a moment longer. She could sense Rooster's emotions running high, and she knew that he was doing his best to rein them in. "We'll take it one step at a time," she said softly. "No need to jump to conclusions."

Rooster appreciated Beatrice's words of wisdom. He knew she was right, and he needed to keep his emotions in check, especially when dealing with the Haltons. Nicole babbled happily at him and he immediately kissed her head while keeping his hand on Beatrice’s lower back.

Rooster took a moment to compose himself, taking another deep breath and letting it out slowly. He glanced at Beatrice, his expression softening. "Thanks for keeping me grounded,gorgeous," he said sincerely. "Let's go.Get this shit over with."

Beatrice gave him an encouraging smile, leaning up to kiss his chin then Nicole’s cheek. "It’ll be alright" she replied, her voice quiet, “You’ll see.”

“Hm.” he makes sure that he’s mainly in front of Beatrice and he’s aware that he’s now a huge shield in front of his wife and daughter. Honestly, he feels better that way, “I’ll ring the door bell.”

“Roos..”

“I’ll do it.” he pulls them closer to him, “I’ll be quick and–” his eyebrow twitches when he sees the curtains moving, someone was already looking at them, “Fuck,Bea,I really hate this.” he mutters through gritted teeth.

Rooster's anxiety grew as he approached the front door of the Halton residence, his protective instincts kicking into high gear. He rang the doorbell, and the chime echoed through the quiet neighborhood. 

Beatrice squeezed Rooster's hand as they waited for someone to answer the door. Her heart raced in anticipation, and she couldn't help but agree with her husband’s words.

The curtains twitched again, and Rooster's jaw clenched in frustration. It was clear that someone was watching them, which only heightened his unease. He couldn't shake the feeling that they were walking into a trap.

Oh he hates this.

After a few moments, the front door swung open, revealing Miranda. She looked like she was the one peeking through the curtains anyway.

"Ah, my my my," Miranda said with a polite smile, “What a lovely surprise from you three. Want to come in?”

“Ah, no, we can’t.” Rooster replies with his voice firm, “We just wanted to know about…the dinner, where will it be exactly and what…should we expect-I mean, what should we wear.” he was almost bolting out of there with Bea and Nikki, “Where is this…new place you guys wanna go?”

“Oh! This Japanese place called Oda.” now that made the two blink in surprise, ‘Oh it seems so lovely.”

It was lovely, Bea and Rooster have been there before. But of course the Haltons didn’t know that.

"Oda, huh?" Rooster repeated, keeping his tone neutral. Do we need to make reservations or anything?"

Miranda's smile remained polite, but there was an underlying condescension in her tone. "Oh, darling, reservations are a must, and of course it’s already dealt with" she replied with a dismissive wave of her hand. "It's a rather exclusive place, and they don't often accommodate walk-ins. But I'm sure you'll figure it out."

Rooster exchanged a quick glance with Beatrice, both of them picking up on Miranda's less-than-friendly tone. They were well aware that Miranda and Mark were using this dinner as a way to assert some sort of dominance, and it irked Rooster.

"Thanks for letting us know," Rooster said, his tone polite but firm. "Is there anything else we should be aware of for Friday?"

Miranda considered the question for a moment, her gaze wandering over Rooster and Beatrice as if assessing them. "Just be on time, darling," she replied, her smile widening. "You wouldn't want to keep us waiting, after all. And do dress appropriately. Oda has a certain dress code."

Rooster had to bite back a retort at Miranda's not-so-subtle implication that they might not be up to her standards, the subtle grunt in his throat was loud enough to leave Beatrice worried and make Nicole laugh. He nodded in acknowledgment. "Of course," he said evenly. "We'll make sure to follow the dress code and be punctual."

Beatrice chimed in, her voice polite but with a hint of steel. "Thank you for the information, Miranda. We appreciate it."

Miranda's smile didn't waver, but there was a glint in her eyes that suggested she was enjoying their discomfort. "You're welcome, darling," she replied sweetly. "We look forward to seeing you on Friday. Until then, take care."

With that, she closed the door, leaving Rooster and Beatrice standing on the doorstep. Rooster let out a frustrated sigh, running a hand through his hair. They turned around as quickly as they could and the pilot was tense "That woman," he muttered under his breath. "She's trying to get under our skin, Bea."

Beatrice nodded in agreement, giving a look back at the house. "I know, Roos," she said. "But we won't let her. We’ve been to Oda before.”

“Yep.”

“And well,we know the owner.”

“We…” he clenches his teeth, “Do–did you see how smug she looked?” he asks as soon as they enter the car and set Nicole on her seat, “ ‘It's a rather exclusive place, and they don't often accommodate walk-ins. But I'm sure you'll figure it out.’- Arrghh!” he clenches the steering wheel, murder in his gaze, “I swear,I swear they better not pull any shit, gorgeous.”

Beatrice could feel Rooster's frustration radiating from him as they sat in the car, hell she could see it. She reached over to place a hand on his shoulder, giving it a reassuring squeeze. "I know, Roos," she said softly. "Hopefully they won’t.”

Rooster took a deep breath, his grip on the steering wheel slowly relaxing. He rolls his neck, then turns the car back on. "Yeah," he admitted, his voice calmer now. "We have two more days,right?”

“Yep.”

“...right.” his eyes narrow, “Fuckin’ A.”

What’s your most unpopular DN opinion? (It can be about canon, fanon the fandom)

This is a hard to answer question for me because I don't know that I have many unpopular opinions, or any at all?! So I'm just going to ramble a little bit at you. I hope this is the quality content you were looking for.

I am FAR from confident that my own characterization of Light and L is right, but I sometimes feel like my view of them is an unpopular one because I see different sides of fandom taking certain traits and pulling in totally different directions - Light is either dramatic with a hair-trigger temperament and ready for Violence OR he is very soft and fluffy. (Or, he is either constantly openly and shamelessly putting women down or actually a #feminist.) Same thing with L. L is very soft and gentle and full of angsty feelings, or (and I think the following is a view that some people have adopted as a rejection to the Uwu L ™ characterization that was king in the early days of the fandom, sjsksjd) he is a confident asshole with almost no consideration towards other people beyond what is useful to him to be able to solve a case.

But then of course I know this is a bit like saying nothing because all fandoms will do this to their blorbos, and all characters are more complex than you'd think from a cursory search through their Tumblr tag. I was discussing this with a beloved friend and she illuminated me by mentioning that fandom... just loves Drama and Heightened Feelings... People consume the source material and want more Feels out of it (especially media like Death Note, I'd imagine, which really doesn't spend more time than necessary dwelling on anyone's feelings) and so they take... Light having a yelling fit and make it a very prominent trait of his personality. Or L having a soft moment and fill him with soft feelings that are coming out all the time. Which is a reasonable instinct to have! even though I think the interesting part of those moments in canon is precisely the fact that they are extraordinary in some way.

So I AM saying nothing and this does happen in every fandom, and contrary to what that cursory search through any fandom tag would tell you, a lot of people certainly treat the characters with subtlety and pay careful attention to all of their dimensions. I mean, evidently, most people do it much better than I could ever hope to do!! (In my defense I have to say that if I stress myself out with writing Light and L properly in-character I will drive myself insane, so not doing it is Self Care for me). But, ah! hopefully this is still some sort of answer, anon!

The L thing bothers me more, because he is my beloved boy and because I think people insist a bit too much on the view of him as confident asshole who doesn't give a fuck. Cleverer people than me have discussed this, particularly in the Lawlight server in which I am, but L does in fact Give Some Fucks. I'm noticing it more now that I'm rereading the manga! A lot of soft little L moments are making me sort of understand why people back in the early fandom days really ran with that Soft Uwu L interpretation haha. It's not remotely accurate to reduce him to those traits! but it's not accurate either to reduce him to the opposite ones?

And I feel like the same phenomenon happens with Lawlight, My Beloved Ship. Sometimes it feels like, if people don't portray them as a very soft and fluffy couple, they can portray them as a couple that would be so toxic and unhealthy that they couldn't have a normal, loving relationship without mind games and manipulation always running through the undercurrent of it. Idk we all know these boys are crazy insane but I don't think they'd be quite THAT toxic!!

Rereading the manga has made me have the realization once again that (I think) L and Light honestly just fit together very well, and don't hate each other with nearly as much venom and intensity as one might think, and there's a lot of common interests and genuine mutual appreciation and fun in their relationship. Particularly in a no notebook AU where there'd be no need for 70% of their mind games of course lol, but it's also there just, like, canonically.

NOW THIS IS WHERE I’M SCRATCHING MY DAMN HEAD. i mean what can be said about callum crown. dude fucking IS the narrative of dialtown. he’s baked into every part and for good reason!!!!!! the first time i watched the turnip lore i was like. genuinely flabbergasted because DAMN…REALLY? 2023 was even wilder for me than it was for Cheese lmfao.

I finally got into DMC this year, after being drawn in by Gura and the OST in summer of ‘21. On a family vacation, at that! Finally played 5, beat it, beat it again as Vergil. Played 3, beat it with some help from my partner. Started a Vergil run of 3, and started 1, never finished either, because life kinda got crazy Started playing C.O.D??? Somehow?? Never thought I’d play a C.O.D. game but here I am and I like the campaign for the MW2 remake, I suck ass at it but that’s a me problem lmao Got into therapy, finally, actually working on my problems now and really happy about it Went through several Vtuber avatar designs, finally settled on one I like and I’m almost done with it!!! Just gotta struggle through the hair, hand toggles, and the face! Wow!! Went through endless self-discovery, thought I might be trans(I am in fact not trans, I am Fluid! As far as I know. Still working on that. And other things, but one step at a time!! FINALLY reunited with my two best friends. In person. In another state. One of em, I've known since we were 11 and they moved away when we were 13. I had never hung out with them outside of school, and they introduced me to my other best friend, who came up to my state to meet me in late spring of ‘21, hadn’t seen them since. That friend actually paid for the trip themself, because I went through a god-awful breakdown for a solid 2 weeks and tried to. Isolate myself from everyone I love. But thankfully they talked me out of it and got me back into the group, got me going again when I was at probably my second lowest point since I was a preteen. Got oddly close with another friend while I was there, met the majority of my friend group, and now that friend I got close with is EASILY my third best friend! Not third-best, they are also a best friend and I love them so much?? We hyperfixate on like, all the same things. Dragged them into loving Ghost(band) and they’re dragging me into Scott Pilgrim! Woohoo, here we go! Left my friend group like a month ago because one of them is uh. Not. the best? But only sometimes. They don’t have bad intentions and they’re not outright toxic I don’t think, but I uh. Got kinda sick of their sense of humor. Not always funny, kinda mean to a certain other member. Not always though. But like we can work on it when I go back its fiiiiiiine! Learned communication to a degree, holy shit I hate talking about my problems, oh my god please I don’t need help I’m just a burden anyway(I’m working on it, don’t come at me with support I’ll get there with my family and friends eventually. Woo! 1 - water heater leak 2 - gas leak 3 - roof leak again(we had a roof leak in ‘22) 4 - house flood 2 electric boogaloo(house flooded like a week after my partner moved in, in ‘22, before I arrived) 5 - flood 3 6 - roof leak 3 7 - roof leak 4 8 - heater died 9 - bathroom door handle fell off the door for literally no reason 10 - house flood 4 11 - roof leak 5 12 - house flood 5 House Flood 5 caused us to get renovations in the organized housing, and after that, they just straight up moved us to a new house. We had 8 fffffffucking days to get the hell out of our house and into the new one. Like, they actually put the time constraint on us. So funny of them! AND THEN THE NEW ONE DIDN’T HAVE SHUT-OFF VALVES FOR EITHER OF THE HOSE SPIGOTS AND WE HAD TO GET THAT HANDLED BUT THEY DIDN’T HANDLE IT. HELP. BROTHER WE ARE TRYING TO FOLLOW THE RULES. WHY ARE YOU FORBIDDING US. so. 13 - no shut off-valves(technically an ‘emergency’ bc the pipes could freeze and then burst) Got summoned for Jury Duty in my parents’ state! IN THE TIME WHERE WE WEREN’T CERTAIN WHEN THE CONTRACTORS WERE COMING. OR IF WE WOULD BE IN THE SAME HOUSE NEXT WEEK. JESUS CHRIST. But, did also get to go on another family vacation. We got to watch the Perseids! I saw a possum there. Literally loved that so much.

Also got SUUUUPER into Ghost(band) in the last like 3 weeks and I'm head over heels for 99% of their songs that I've listened to?? Hell yeah.

It’s been an intense year of ups and downs, but I’m really determined to turn my life around for the better, now. I’m gonna put my all into actually improving my health, both physical and mental/emotional. I didn’t want that to be like, a new year resolution, it just kinda lined up with the new year.
