Can wa talk about how young Nightmare was during the bullying ?

Like we all know he ate the apples when he was six, but the bullying happened BEFORE that, and sure the villagers didn't arrive right away, but that still means they began to bully him when he was, like, four maybe ? He was FOUR and being bullied by people AT LEAST twice his age at that time, maybe even teenagers and some crappy adults.

And you know what kids do at that age ? They look up to grown ups, because grown ups are so big, they know things, they do everything for a reason and they must always be right, because they are grown ups ! Grown ups know ! They can do so much things because they know so much things ! So when the grown ups say that he is a demon that will bring them only misery and pain, they must be right, because they are grown ups who know things that he doesn't.

And turns out ? He did bring them misery and pain. He killed them. He destroyed their AU, his own house, his own mother. Grown ups were right, they were right about him and yet he still doubted them sometimes. And he feels like shit because everything was true. He is a demon.

And then it's his turn to be a grown up and to be around other grown ups, and he realizes... grown ups don't know things. They don't know everything, they are like everyone else, they figure things out, make assumptions, are wrong, make mistakes, ... and when he realizes that he also realizes that back in Dreamtale, the grown ups didn't, in fact, had any reason to bully him, they did it because they wanted to, not because they knew something, but because they felt like it. And he doesn't know what hurts the most between thinking that his bullies were right and that he deserved everything they did and now knowing that they did that just because they found it untertaining and that he really didn't deserve it but that it was too late anyway.

He really hates grown ups.

“I looked into Maximoff. Her files from HYDRA, or what’s available,” he finally starts.

“What were you looking for?”

“Anything—everything. I don’t know.”

She waits patiently, not pushing him one way or the other as Bucky gathers his thoughts. 

“There wasn’t much there. Not enough to tell for certain.”

“Tell what?”

“If I ever met her, before. During my-” he cuts off, swallowing. He’s had words for this before, but sometimes they just won’t come.

“During your captivity?” Janice asks, an air of stillness to the room that hadn’t been there a moment ago.  “Do you think that’s a possibility?” 

Bucky takes in the tightness at the corner of her eyes and wonders if his slide back into non-verbosity is what’s upsetting her, or if it’s concern over his doing such a deep dive into a former teammate. He shrugs. 

“Inconclusive.”

In 2011, I received my offer letter at a job that I was temping at when my boss told me to go home.  On the way the door, I collapsed......  I remember waking up and driving to an urgent care center.  Once in the room, they told me to leave and head straight to an ER.....  I began to panic......  The only thing that they did was take my temp and it was approaching 105 degrees.  I called my sister that works at a hospital and God Love her, she picked me up and as delirium was setting in, I was taken to the hospital.

After what seems days in the ER, the doctors wanted to send me home, but my family was not having any of that. I was admitted and one brilliant doctor (Dr. A) comes in my room with his team, flips me over and starts the bone tap...... I was so scared and in pain.  Hours later, the truth was know, I was diagnosed with stage 4 Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma.  This means  the cancer has spread to one or more tissues or organs outside the lymph system (e.g., liver, lungs, bones) and may be in lymph nodes near or far away from those organs.

The next nine months were the scariest for myself and my family up to then.  Due to the research that LLS ( Leukemia & Lymphoma Society lls.org) funds, I can say that after Chemo and I am now 6 years cancer free.

I want everyone to know that it is this miracle that I am asking you to help.  Only that way can we can truly find an end to cancer.

Team Bamberger will be walking on 10/22/17 in downtown Toledo, Ohio to light our lanterns and shine through the darkness that cancer can bring.  I encourage everyone to come join in what can only be a celebration of love and life.  Where our community can come together and remember those that have lost the battle against cancer and brings hope and encouragement to those that in the fight on today.
