Sans-centric UTMV stuff like Underverse is so funny to me cuz like. Imagine you’ve been exposed to the wonders of the multiverse, only to find out nearly every being of multiversal importance is a variant of the same guy. And it’s just some random dude. Like obviously sans has a lot more going on than he lets on but that’s the persona he presents to most people. So if you were from a normal timeline you’d most likely know sans as just “the guy who hangs around grillby’s” or “the guy who works the hot dog stand” or something along those lines. And then you see 2 copies of hot dog guy duking it out for the fate of reality. Could you imagine.

Though it is true that like most of the boss monsters we face papyrus also doesnt want to fight us, there is also a little but an impactful difference papyrus's fight has compared to other boss monsters.

In the murder route, regardless of what you do papyrus wont fight nor kill you under any circumstances.

While i do agree with him not differing when it comes to morality and kindness compared to most of the boss monsters it is also important that despite all the boss monsters who has fought you who ,for example, Toriel has gone against her morals, to keep you safe, papyrus never fights you. It is the only time it ever happens in the game, it is different, and i think that is the reason why most people sees him as kinder compared to most.

I dont think it is wrong to assume that no? It is a really players perspective of seeing of things. Killing toriel is sad yes but if we dont she wont get out of the way, but with papyrus. There is NOTHING and you feel worse and worse since there isnt even an excuse to kill him.

also, as a side thing, reading into papyrus's genocide boss fight dialouge is extremly hard since there are multiple ways to intrepert this scene imo. Maybe it is because he sticks to his morals to the point of death or it is because he wasnt expecting frisks attack in the first place (P.S. in his dialouge "i wasnt expecting that..." He keeps it vague for some reason. Was he not expecting our attack to kill him this instant [since he did lower his defense a lot] and underestimated us or was he not expecting us to attack him to begin with? Personally, i think he was expecting to an extent due to his later dialouge mentioning he was a little scared.) so like. Thats a wholeee can of worms. I dont think it is safe to assume it so outrightly.

Anyway, love how the previous anon talks about his snarky and sarcastic quality. That guy fucking knows what he is doing. God i love his phone calls the immedient tone shift when undyne likes something and he dont is soo obvious and funny.

Honestly noticing him being aware yet saying stuff like "how could you berate yourself like that?" Makes it x2 funnier. He is like a walking clown in a way! very aware of his role and commiting to the bit. Makes you wonder how deep that goes. What is wrong with him. Really. No really what the fuck is up with that guy.

Random headcanon: the reason that Peach and Bowser don’t seem to get a lot of respect in some Super Mario games is because the Mushroom Kingdom is kind of a rural backwater and isn’t terribly important or influential politically, so people tend to regard Bowser as a C-list villain for being so hung up on such an insignificant conquest. Nobody really expects Bowser to be a serious threat – that would be like expecting a guy whose main claim to fame is repeatedly failing to conquer Wyoming to be a serious threat – so they get taken by surprise every single time.

The regular Sans if Aftertale I think. Not totally sure what the anon is talking about, since he *is* supposed to be Classic Sans, even if he is drawn a little different than his canon version, but I'm pretty sure that's who they're talking about.

Transcript: Aftertale thing but, Sans 2.0 as I call him doesn't get enough attention or credit from fans, he's usually just drawn 1 to 1 with canon Sans when he has that cute thick turtleneck and fluffy hood.

I think more people should start recognising and drawing him, he's his own character from Undertale Sans in the same way Geno is, and I think it's too bad that he usually gets over looked!!

Like I said before, I genuinely believe that he really is a very kind and sweet person, his geno route interactions and his conversations with Undyne among other things seem like very solid proof of this to me (And so I still hold the Handplates version near and dear to my heart, even if that could be considered misinterpretation. He was just a kid, trying to make the most out of the situation, MY SON), so I think feeling like him wanting to be the best is a little less than how he cares about people is absolutely valid

I don't care that he can't kill you, his entire thing is that he's trying to capture you so obviously he's not gonna kill you, he doesn't even want to fight you in the first place. NO ONE BESIDES UNDYNE MUFFET AND METTATON WANT TO KILL YOU. The capture thing is both an out not to kill you and to show the control he has over his magic. It means nothing. Toriel also chooses not to kill you.

Very true! Papyrus has his flaws! Now, while I'm still very onboard with Papyrus being a genuinely very kind and nice person, he clearly can and does make mistakes, and act far from perfect. Hell, as pointed out here, he can even be mean and manipulative sometimes (Although tbf, the only time he did manipulate Undyne was so that you would be friends, so chaotic good)
