How do you price your Ko-Fi request? I can't find it and I'm new to using the site.
ill try to say this all as clearly as possible but if you need further clarification, you can just ask! i generally do these by the amount time they take me for the money im given.
the price of a kofi is set to £4, which is the price for a standard request (a clean sketch, minimal coloring, preferably no more than two characters), if you tip one ko-fi at £4 and the request idea, thats what ill do.
if you tip me more ko-fis than that, i usually do a small comic around the idea. i try to add a panel per kofi, so if you sent me two kofis, totalling £8, id do you a two panels comic. if you give 4 kofis, id try to do a 4 panel comic.
occasionally i cant actually think of a comic for a request (i do try, but sometimes i can spend hours trying to come up with something and theres just no ideas there). if i cant think of anything, ill do the request as a more detailed, probably colored single illustration, which will take me around the same amount of time as a much less detailed comic would.
if you only wanted to send the one tip of £4, thats perfectly fine, and i wont do a comic for that, just the one picture.
im pretty open about this though so if you wanted to send a couple of kofis and the req and ask that it be a single illustration, id do that. most people send me an idea/prompt style request, examples of ones ive done before being 'macaque and wukong raiding the fridge at 2am' 'mei biting someone, you can choose the context',
but if you have something slightly more specific that that, thats okay too! ive also done some oc illustrations, and am open to doing specific designs for characters as well.
sorry thats kinda long but i hope that makes sense for you, if you have more questions you can ask :]
ko-fi link if u need it
#ask#reqs#shark talks#the reason i do reqs rather than commissions is to give myself a bit of leeway. comic commissions are very difficult because unless someone#you have to come up with the actual situation#comedy beats#style of drawing#dialogue#and punchline yourself. i wouldnt want to do that and have someone unsatisfied#so i give myself that bit of creative freedom by making them requests rather than commissions so i can make something that fits my style#(since comms usually require more input from the person giving u the money.#its generally much easier for me if someone just gives me their prompt and leaves me to create what i want from it#and i find it usually produces better results)#usually time is the main factor i price things by#i know with a fair amount of accuracy how long stuff will take me so a single detailed illustration and a less detalied short comic will#take about the same amount of time

How to actually support small businesses on Etsy
With Christmas approaching and people starting to look for gifts, I thought it might be useful to let people know how to best support Etsy sellers, since we get a lot of sales this time of year! Etsy has a lot of policies that affect sellers which they don't really disclose to customers, and often there's a communication gap that can be damaging to sellers without customers intending them to. Hopefully this post helps more people avoid this kind of thing.
A while ago Etsy implemented the Star Seller program. When you go to an Etsy store, you can see badges at the top of the page, denoting if the seller has done well in three main categories:
Speedy replies
On time dispatch with tracking
Good reviews
If you clear the bar for all three as a seller, you're a Star Seller. This is an important badge for sellers, which I'll get to in a bit. Etsy evaluates your stats monthly, and bases them on three months' worth of data:
Each has specific determining factors, which also advantage large operations like dropshippers over small businesses, but we'll get to that too:
As you can see, the criteria is really demanding. You have to respond to 95% of first messages (ie. the first time someone contacts you) within 24 hours or you lose your Star Seller status. This can be really damaging to a small store.
You also have to dispatch 95% of orders on time, ie. within the set timeline you've chosen for an item listed, and you have to give tracking info. This, by the way, is frustrating and disingenuous; I ship my product in envelopes because they're small and thin, but the mail service in my country doesn't offer tracking for envelopes. I'm not going to spend up to 3x as much on shipping just to have a tracking number (shipping would cost half the price of my product if I did), but if I don't include tracking info I don't get a Star Seller badge even if I ship all my orders on time. I get around this by writing "unavailable" in the field where tracking info goes, but this still poses a transparency issue to customers and rightly so. I end up compensating by issuing a lot of replacements for delayed orders, which I can recoup costs of through my mail service which is a lot of extra work and time.
You also must have an average of 4.8 star reviews or higher. There are no adjustments made for small stores, and this is a big one where dropshippers have an advantage.
As you can see in my stats here, I had 11 reviews in 3 months. That means if just one person gives me a 4 or 3 star review, I lose my Star Seller status for 3 months unless I get a ton more reviews quickly. A dropshipper who makes hundreds of sales a week won't be affected by one middling review. And you'd be surprised how often people who leave 3 or 4 star reviews actually meant to leave better ones but clicked the wrong button without noticing, or just don't understand how the system works.
Because Etsy doesn't explain this to customers. So people will leave a damaging review in perfectly good faith. The number of times I've gotten an "excellent product, would buy again!" review with 3 stars is astounding. I always message customers to ask what I could do better and explain the system, and the response is almost always that there was nothing wrong, they just usually don't give anything higher than 3 out of 5 stars unless the product radically improved their lives or was transformative (and to their credit, most customers change their reviews after this exchange but again, it takes time and effort).
3 stars is average, and what customers rate is their experience receiving and using a product. What Etsy uses these ratings to gauge, however, is whether a customer was satisfied dispatch timelines, craftsmanship, and if a product met the expectations set in the listing.
As an added bonus, Etsy hoses money off sellers by offering to advertise for them. The way this works is that if a seller opts in, Etsy will advertise their store in relevant searches on search engines like Google, and in exchange they take a percentage from any sales made from clicks on these links. And then some. Because if a customer clicked an advertising link once, then Etsy will keep taking that cut from any further purchases from that IP address. So if you click a Google link to an Etsy store and then purchase from that store, and then bookmark that store and go back six months later to get another item, Etsy will keep taking their advertising cut with each purchase you make.
Depending on whether or not you opt in to advertising, Etsy can take up to 30% of your earnings in fees alone. That means if I sell, say, bookmarks for $10, I only get to keep $7. Hopefully that covers my operating costs, but if I charge more for an item that takes me a lot of time and work to make, I have to factor in that Etsy offers free shipping on orders over $35 whether or not sellers agree to give it. So if I sell a product that costs $35, not only do I only get to keep $24.50 of what I was paid after Etsy takes fees, I also have to cover the cost of shipping. And if I'm selling a product for that much, it's likely shipping will cost $5-10, so now my profit is down to $15-20 for an item I sold for $35.
Why is the Star Seller status so important? Because it's the main way the average Etsy store gets onto the algorithm and has visibility, and without visibility you don't have sales. Drop shippers can afford to purchase advertising space, so they'll always show up in searches. They can also afford to have a variety of products, high-end professional photos of their products, and because they have a lot of sales, the occasional bad review or delayed shipment won't cause a blip on their rating system. In comparison, the average Etsy store who makes, let's say, 50 sales a month (and that's a small store that's doing well), is going to feel the impact of a handful of 4 star reviews and one day of delayed orders/message replies due to a family emergency. If you contact Etsy customer service to explain your legitimate reason for having a delay, they're unable to intervene. They can't give you back your Star Seller status, which means you're dropped from the algorithm for the three months it takes for those delays to stop counting towards your averages, and you then have to work your way back up into the algorithm once that time passes, which is even harder to do. (And while you can put up an auto-reply, there's a time limit on how long it'll be up, which is usually 24-48 hours. Which may not work if you have a personal emergency that the average small business would understand and give you time off for in ways Etsy refuses to accommodate.)
So what can you do to support Etsy sellers?
- Give good reviews. If you have problems with a product, message the seller and give them the opportunity to fix the problem or send a replacement/refund. Unless you feel the need to leave a scathing 1 star review, don't leave one unless it's a 5 star. Etsy counts anything under 5 stars the same as it does one star. (This goes for Amazon, Uber, Deliveroo, etc. too. Review kindly.)
- Message sellers during the week. It's harder to get to messages during the weekend, and not everyone remembers to put on their auto-reply.
- Don't click advertising links. If someone promos their Etsy store on their own social media account, it's fine. So if you click a link from an instagram profile or a tumblr post, that's fine. But if you see a link on Google or in a dedicated advertising space, even if it's a sponsored spot on Etsy, don't click on it. Instead, search the shop name on Etsy and go to it through that search. This way the seller won't lose more fees to Etsy.

It’s horrible how my design course has killed my enjoyment in creativity because all they want is finished pieces founded in nothing but a spontaneous mark just to hang at some concrete art gallery or to sell to some “join our revolution” comfy business-casual company with a prison cell wellness room. I’m not saying that it’s “not art” —cos that’s a different post altogether— it’s that the ethos behind this particular formula for art education is ruining the way we think about creation.
Design courses (and other art courses I’ve heard?) are no longer teaching artists or designers techniques, drawing skills, art fundamentals and allowing them to find their own voice so much as they are only instructing how to tic boxes alongside pushing corporate and classist motivated style/methodology bias aimed at producing workers, not creatives, not to mention providing Adobe with endless funds for their despicable scam programs. That’s it. My creativity is only a means to money for them, and if they can extract the process of creation from me without the complex creative intimacy involved in it, they know they can churn out products and services faster and it’s concerning some lecturers don’t seem to be aware this is what they’re teaching? Like they’re buying into industry propaganda?
And the whole time it’s sold to you like you can be some trailblazer when the irony is they’re usually either prepping you for cubicle work or for some misguided high horse creative team pumping out design solutions completely divorced from the reality. I’m tired of all the talks about sustainability in a vacuum with no conversation about nuanced designs that factor in broader social and economic perspectives which lack thereof is leading to sustainable products being sold at a price only able to be afforded by wealthier people who are causing said economic and social problems and contributing to the rapid obsoletion of trades and crafts. Lecturers and speakers don’t seem to think that’s any of our concern and should just worry about producing the design for the hypothetical Bluetooth powered organic hairbrush or using the twigs to make the pattern for the £85 fabric square.
Like? Can I please make something that actually resonates with people outside the circle jerk of egotistical creatives and corporations? Something charming and maybe idk something that doesn’t make me want to tear my miserable portfolio in half with my teeth? And they’re like Mm nope sorry it has to be an extreme close up of a mark making abstract leaf you made from a recycled trash bag inspired by a stalled urban space which we will force you to price at £100 during your exhibition 5 people will bother to attend and no you’re not allowed any other style cos this isn’t the Dark Ages :///
I think the worst thing my lecturer ever said was, while looking around the room of our class work reduced down to a series of cubes and splatters and abstract typography, “Wow, I love how you can’t tell what anyone’s [main artist discipline] is!” Like awww conformity at the expense of a person’s individuality to make pieces for airport hallways and rich people’s living rooms wow so cool heehee like girl that’s not good?? Why on Earth are you complimenting us for that? Like I get it, I thought this course would boost skillset as an illustrator (as we were told), turns out the degree is really not for me, fair enough to anyone thinking that, but forcing students to produce modern abstract art because you think it’s the ONLY Logical Pathway for the future of design, judging them intensely for doing a different style, and thinking producing financially inaccessible art + design is the solution to things like climate change and community severance is an objectively bad take.
#needed to get that off my chest it’s been sitting in my drafts and it’s still true#genuinely hate just about everything I’ve produced on this course#like illustration as a course was fine#this one is just depressing#had to almost completely reinvent my art after first year cos this Forced Style threw me off so bad#I am Scared for the future of creativity in academia#wrote a 10000 word essay (for fun) about why the corporate bullshit is contributing to the downfall of art#so needless to say I have my dissertation for my honours already#ok to rb#illustration#design

I’m back from a short trip on a social network with photographs and videos from Gaza, with some brief personal conclusions.
First, it is quite clear that there are those in Gaza who know how to make extensive use of the networks and social media for the purposes of emotional extortion and also false propaganda, exactly like they live-streamed the October 7 massacre and somehow turned it into “justified resistance”, they use quite a few Western buzzwords such as “genocide”, “occupation”, “oppression” and “Zionism”- and this is the simplest way to distinguish between Hamas propaganda posts and authentic people in Gaza, whom I’ve known all my life, who use much simpler words and not this indoctrinated manipulation bullshit.
I was looking for THESE authentic people - the real voices. And I think I found a few.
So first of all, what do I think there is NOT happening in Gaza? There is no genocide and no famine.
Yes, there is quite a lot of suffering, shortages in some places and lack of decent shelter etc. And there’s a lot of cynical exploitation of it for propaganda purposes. I’m saying it because you can see children are getting payed for it, you can see the absolute control of distribution and you can see how basic needs and the way out is blocked with money- Israel is not taking money for any of it, the West is sending free aid, so the money is demanded by those who want to control the suffering and use it.
You should know, that before the war - there was already quite a lot of very poor population in Gaza, but now the economic difficulty has greatly increased for two main reasons: one, the war damaged many sources of livelihood and the second - a major source of livelihood was working in Israel and this option was closed for a long time now, since October 7, and is now much less operational.
So in fact the main source of income is donations and funding from Hamas for control purposes of course.
This is how, among other things, Hamas uses the population to "work for them", and also to smile or cry for the cameras on demand.
Now on the issue of claimed famine- famine is when there’s NO food and water, enough for the population. As I said, my personal conclusion is that there is no shortage of food and water in Gaza at all.
The problem is that the food is not distributed equally, it is controlled by those who are powerful (usually Hamas operatives) and then sold at high costs to the population without them having sources of livelihood.
Food that should be distributed for #free is actually sold at a high price, the shelter tents are also paid for and the exit from Gaza is particularly expensive (5000$ that are paid to the transporters).
There are quite a few who refer to Gaza as a "prison" but Gaza is not a prison, Hamas has simply created a situation where it is very expensive to leave it - and thus the poor and the new poor are completely dependent on Hamas and other clans (Hamulas) in everything to do with food, shelter and exit, and they play with them as pawns.
If Gaza is a prison - then it’s because Hamas are imprisoning it.
All the suffering in Gaza started because of #Hamas it continues and increases because of #Hamas, but the main point is that #Hamas is also the one factor that can stop it.
If Hamas surrendered unconditionally and released the Israeli hostages, as done in any war in which you are forced to admit defeat - they would truly liberate Palestine. Remember- this is a war that #Hamas started, a war that on Oct. 7 was celebrated in the streets of Gaza.
But #Hamas prefers to keep the Palestinians captive so that it can showcase suffering (which they create) and use it as a tool for financial donations, manipulation of the West and a messianic jihadist war that will never end for them.
If the West doesn’t wake up to this ongoing manipulation- they will never help the Palestinians in Gaza or in general, and they will bring this jihadist chaos to their doorstep.

hi!!!
sorry if you've already answered this, but i really love your art (i LOVE your art!!!) and i was wondering what digital art tools you use/would recommend for someone relatively new to digital illustration (as far as program and/or tablet).
i've had the opportunity to borrow an ipad and a wacom tablet (one with a screen and one without) a few times, and others have told me the main difference is wacom tablets are sometimes(?) used in more "professional"/"company" artwork but ipads are more convenient to some people bc you don't have to be connected to a computer.
i also know the drawing program you use with the tablet is a factor, if you have any advice on this.
sorry this ask is so long -- i'm torn on the decision and thought i should ask some artists i really admire what they use :) i really appreciate any advice you can give me -- and again, thanks for sharing such beautiful art!
i think i have answered something like that before but i can't find it.
there's no such thing as more professional when it comes to tablets or ipads. i know a lot of professional artists prefer ipads, so it's really about preference.
if you prefer ipads you don't have to limit yourself to apple. i use a tab s6 lite ( i will never shut up about it), it's way cheaper in general and support most art apps except for procreate bc they're ios exclusive (which sucks fuck procreate). xp-pen have something similar to an ipad too, it's the magic drawing pad (stupid name) and it's closer in price to samsung (i never used this one so idk if it's better than samsung).
as for tablets they're usually immensely cheaper and xp-pen even have one you can connect to your phone so you don't even need a computer or laptop anymore. so if you're a beginner and don't wanna invest too much money and just test the waters i highly recommend a tablet, xp-pen tablet deco mini 7 is like 30usd i'm not joking. their display tablets are also cheaper than most companies (maybe not huion but idk), i use the xp-pen artist 12 pro on my laptop
as for apps and softwares... you don't have to pay for shit. there's a lot of free options (i use sketchbook pro on my tab s6), and you can also find pirated versions of photoshop and paint tool sai (which is what i use on my xppen). krita is free too.
TLDR: samsung tab s6 or xp-pen tablet deco mini 7. krita, sketchbook pro and pirated paint tool sai
also thank you for the compliments hjawbsgilhk <3

hi can u tell ur average prices for a full body colored piece? with no/plain color background
There are many factors that can affect the price, and the main one is what exactly needs to be painted and how long it will take. Some character may have a plain coat or dress, another may be in full knightly armor decorated with gold. I can spend hours or days on some small details, some pictures formally from the same "full height" category can be drawn in one or two days. In some cases a clean polished render is required, in some it is not necessary. Therefore, the price may vary from $120 to 250 depending how detailed and how polished it must be. For example, here the cards took a few hours of extra time to make them look natural
There may also be factors that affect the price one way or another, so the best thing to do is tell me what you need and I'll tell you exactly what I can do. Usually even for 120 I can do something interesting
And if you need me to draw several pictures at once, or the art will be used in a project that is particularly interesting for me, this can also affect the price

good day/evening OP! got a question if you don’t mind! how long have you been drawing art? and what keeps you motivated to draw? do you also do commissions? and do you ever feel tired or exhausted staying in one fandom?
thanks for answering! take your time and you don’t have to answer these if you’re not comfortable ☺️
((btw anon here is in early 20’s just to be clear ^^))
Good evening/day, Anon! And thanks for clarifying your age, as it really does mean a lot 🙏💖
No problem at all to answer these! For drawing, traditionally, it’s ever since I got my hands on my first set of crayons as a babby.
1) If it’s digitally, I started doing more of that when I bought my first surface pro tablet with the remaining art scholarship money at 18-19 years old back in 2015, I believe! Medibang was a game changer because I felt it was a good starter drawing software when I couldn’t afford Paint Tool Sai at the time (I eventually bought a license for Clip Studio instead because of a friend’s recommendation lol).
2) What motivates me to draw? I have many reasons. First one to spite a kindergarten classmate who said my drawing of a Pokémon wasn’t good xD (don’t remember which). Second, to tell stories because I couldn’t write a cohesive plotline. Third, it’s the cheapest entertainment I got lol.
I remember I tried to adapt excepts from the novels I read into comic form and they were pretty fun. Especially when I was inspired by the 39 Clues fanart in the wiki page at the time.
I think if people online made them look fun, it makes me wanna join in too, and that makes me forget that my skills suck~ Which is very important in having the motivation to draw. When focusing on quality, or perfectionism , I tend to be very harsh towards myself, which what leads to my occasional art blocks.
3) Ay I do commissions, but currently closed atm! I still have two more to go and thus, I promise myself not to reopen until I get them done!
You can find the list in my Ko-Fi: https://ko-fi.com/rttnpnkpmpkn/commissions
I may have to increase the prices a bit to account for inflation, which is disappointing but every penny counts in this trying times sorry! qwq
4) It depends! While I can enjoy a content for as long as I can before I move on to the next, the main deciding factor is whether to be involved in a community.
Every fandom I came across as a lurker always seem to follow a pattern, so I’m very reserved in joining new communities socially.
I came for the experience, so I gotta make the most out of it before I do leave to find my next hyper fixation. I’m drawing until I can find my “finale” if that makes sense ^^;
Peeps can come and go in a fandom, but inspo strikes when no one asks!
For the particular fandom I’m in, It’s definitely a mixed bag, but I’ll focus on the positives!
I have many things to be grateful for as they’re the ones who got me out of an art rut for the past year and so. I learn so many new skills and life lessons from them, where I couldn’t imagine it being any different if I didn’t meet them otherwise. I met the nicest peeps who made me forget I’m not too fond of group chats, and were very nice and supportive in their own way!
I’m returning the favor for the inspo they brought me as it’s the least I can do ^^
Also, I never truly leave a fandom, I just wander around as a lurker until I find a reason to come back again. I don’t really make an account dedicated to a specific fandom, because they don’t usually last long, so I tend to sample from other places to make the candle last longer. It wasn’t obvious mostly because I was more of a lurker then and an OC artist xD
I began drawing lots of fanarts mainly because peeps made drawing pr0n for a stickman fun 🤣
Hope that answers your question, and thank you for your time! 🙇💖

Why Are Some Audio Interfaces So Expensive? Are They Really Worth It?
One of the first pieces of equipment you will probably end up investing in after a microphone is an audio interface, assuming you’re an audiophile just starting out with music production or audio engineering. An audio interface simply put is a device that connects your computer to the outside world, transforms your analog sound sources, such as a microphone or instrument, into digital audio that a computer can process, record, and edit. If you’re recording at high quality, you’re really gonna need this thing, but here’s the thing: audio interfaces are pretty pricey and vary vastly in value, with some downright scary price tags.
1. What Is an Audio Interface?
So let’s take a breath and remember what an audio interface actually does before it gets mixed up with cables, before we dive into the costs.
The audio interface acts as a link between the acoustic world and your computer. Plug a microphone, guitar, or any other instrument into the interface-it turns the sound into a digital signal that is somehow going to happen, and then also does this in reverse: converting the digital audio coming from your computer into an analog signal, which you can perceive through speakers or headphones.
Sounds like a noise translator. Imagine without an audio interface, you would not be able to record or produce quality audio on your computer.
2. Why Are Audio Interfaces So Expensive?
Now, let’s cut to the chase: why on earth are some of these audio interfaces priced so ridiculously high? And don’t even get me started on the wide open range. Sometimes you’ll find an audio interface that is between $50 somewhere up to $2,000 or better. So what’s the dif?
Here are the main factors that contribute to that hefty price tag:
a. Build Quality and Materials
For audio interfaces, cheaper ones are often made from a decent set of materials and components. They would be suitable for simple recordings but not for heavy-duty usage nor for prolonged use or things may fail. The high-end audio interfaces, on the other hand, are made with good-quality components well designed to last longer and withstand tougher uses.
High-end audio interfaces normally have a metallic casing for better protection, heat dissipation, and overall durability. Budget models, on the other hand, are usually made of plastic, which can wear faster.
b. Audio Conversion Quality (AD/DA Converters)
Quality on the AD and DA converters determines a lot in terms of how much your audio interface costs. Converters are what bring your analog sound into digital data and vice versa. In the pricier interfaces, generally speaking, these converters are of higher quality, which means you get better clarity on your sound, far less distortion, and closer in terms of sheer representation of the recorded material.
For example, while a 24-bit/192kHz converter — commonly included on just about every high-end interface made these days — delivers dramatically more detailed audio resolution than the 16-bit/48kHz converters often used on lower-end models, a better AD/DA converter can be an absolute life-saver on intricate recordings or if you’re trying to capture nuance in your sound.
c. Preamps: Clean, Clear Gain
Microphone preamps amplify the signal of your microphone or instrument before a conversion to digital data. The quality of the preamp determines how clean and clear the sound will be. Reasonable interfaces might have noisy or colored preamps, which in extreme cases could cause distortion or introduce unwanted artifacts in the sound.
On higher-end interfaces, these preamps have been designed to be as transparent as possible, giving you clean, accurate signals. Some high-end interfaces also now come with onboard digital signal processing, which includes real-time EQ and compression along with other effects without taxing your computer’s CPU
d. Input/Output (I/O) Options
The number and type of I/O options on an interface can also have a big effect on the price. A basic interface might have only a couple of inputs for recording, whereas a more expensive interface might contain multiple inputs for recording microphones, instruments, and line-level devices, plus digital inputs and outputs for hooking up to additional gear, like external preamps or speakers.
Some of the top-of-the-line versions may also include additional functions, such as MIDI I/O, Word Clock for daisy-chaining several devices together, or even some onboard audio routing capabilities. You probably won’t need all that when you are just getting started, but they are requirements of complex setups and professional-grade work.
e. Latency and Speed
Latency refers to the time between when a sound has been created and when it’s heard or even recorded. Therefore, high-end audio interfaces would be less about latency — rather, they’d process your sound quicker and with more definition. That is definitely important in live performance and also when recording a couple of instruments simultaneously.
Reasonable interfaces may be a little late in its response, which may be frustrating at times, especially when working with multiple tracks. This will give you timing issues, delays, and frustrations that make it hard to get what you want in terms of performance.
f. Software Bundles
The high-end audio interfaces come with professional-level software comprising DAWs, plugins, and/or virtual instruments. That certainly puts up a huge value on your purchases, especially when you are only new to this line of work and do not know anything about all the equipment required in recording and editing.
Some interfaces bundle in basic or trial versions of software, but you will very rarely find the quality and features that a high-end bundle has. If you are serious about making music production a large part of your life, then it may make sense to spend the extra money on an interface that also has a more robust software bundle since it might ultimately save you time and money.
3. Are Expensive Audio Interfaces Really Worth It?
With the information we have learned as to why some audio interfaces are indeed so pricey, the next question would be: Is it worth it?
The answer depends on so many factors: what you’re using it for, your experience level, and general production goals.
a. For Beginners: What Do You Really Need?
Thus, if you’re just starting and you don’t have a big budget, you definitely do not need a top-end audio interface. Even the entry-level audio interfaces will be enough to record at home with high-quality sound. Within the price range at the bottom of this line, interfaces will bring you decent sound quality, very low latency, and maybe a few inputs for recording vocals or recording an instrument. That’s absolutely fine for hobbyists, podcasters, or solo musicians working on different individual projects.
As a beginner, you are likely fine sticking to interfaces that provide:
Two inputs (fine for one or two microphones or instruments)
Solid preamps (clean gain for your mics)
Basic software bundle to get started
Most producers who are new will find the $100-$200 price-point of a good audio interface more than sufficient to get going without going in the hole.
b. For Intermediate or Professional Producers: When Does It Make Sense to Upgrade?
As experience grows and more complicated setups are required (e.g., multi-mic, multi-instrument, or live recording of bands), the very entry-level interface might start to reach its limits. It is then worthwhile to spend a little more on an affordable model.
For example, if you record in a professional studio, or want to have a really high-quality recording for film, gaming or high-end production music, that extra money spent on an expensive interface is what gives you that professional sound.
4. How to Choose the Right Audio Interface for You
Probably one of the most important considerations is to match your needs with the features of an audio interface. Here are a few general guidelines:
Start with your needs: If you are recording just a solo instrument or vocals, a simple interface with 1 or 2 inputs will probably be all that you’ll need.
Consider your future needs: If you foresee growing your setup, you should think in terms of having multiple inputs and outputs.
Don’t overspend: You don’t need a costly interface if you are not going to make the advanced features out of it. Stick to what you need and can afford.
Look for reliability: Although you might choose a budget version, it must come from a well-known reputable manufacturer, especially one that will offer good customer service and co-operative support for drivers.
5. Conclusion: Is an Expensive Audio Interface Worth It?
At the end of the day, an expensive audio interface will give you better sound quality and build quality has more features. However, most new recording artists will be happy with a lower-end model. If you are starting out, a mid-range interface will probably be exactly what you need. But as you build your experience and expand your production system, you may find a high-end audio interface in your future plans. There are a number of shops like VIP PRO AUDIO that can help you make the right decision.
It’s all really about balance: doing what you need to do within your budget and production goals. The right interface will get you recording with clarity and precision whether it’s demo one or album one.

WHAT idk if this is up to date but i saw comm prices you posted in the summer and are those prices real?? it says a piece like the one in charlie's pinned (b'elanna's three weed smoking girlfriends) would cost 40$?? possibly even australian dollars which would bring it to only 24€????? what!?!?! you are severely underpriced, i would've guesstimated that piece to be like 80€ or 100usd (which i'm aware is more but i usually expect slightly higher rates from usians since they have a higher cost of living esp if they have health problems which so many on tumblr do) and you're telling me it's twenty four euros??? if i were not literally struggling to buy groceries without accruing further debt rn, i would pounce holy shit
so first and foremost, THANK YOU for saying nice things about my work!! i really hope ur financial situation improves soon too, i know how much of a struggle it is
and also... it took me so long to answer bcuz i was overthinking it. as per usual. feel free to skip the below though lol
so i really wish i could say something about how i really considered the Artistic Worth(tm) of my work when pricing it, but, well... my main actual consideration was, how low could I go without making it just a total waste of my time? fact is, the two main factors in pricing for me are:
1- i work full time, so any artistic work cuts into my free time... which i'm kind of reluctant to give up... haha!!
2- we are on tumblr. this is the only website where i really have an audience, and it's the donation post website. (to be clear, no hate to donation posts- emergency comms are just donation posts for people who can't accept money without offering something in return even if they would be better off not doing that).
so factor 1 pulls the price up, because i can't be dragged away from my precious sitting around doing nothing time without a financial incentive, and factor 2 pulls it down, because receiving small amounts of money is still better than receiving no money at all, especially in times of financial distress.
on the subject of financial distress, though, i will admit i'm thinking of opening them again- dental work and car work aren't free SADLY, and there's a lot of that going on in my life right now. the only reason i haven't already is that it hasn't hit the point where i need money that i don't have RIGHT NOW, which was the case the time my old job screwed me right before rent was due and the time i turned out to owe the government taxes. is what it is!
final note- another factor, which is secondary to the other two but still influences my decisions somewhat- i'm fast. this is an adhd cliche, i know, but my 1-4 week turnaround time consists mostly of... trying to get myself to work! since you mentioned charlie's pinned, i might as well be real with you and say that was probably only about 2-3ish hours of actually working. i've streamlined my process down a lot over the years, because if i don't get things finished in one sitting it's very, VERY hard for me to finish them at all... so speed is key. At a rate like that, you're looking at between $13-$20/hr, which is a decent enough tradeoff that i feel it's worth it.
#again i really appreciate the kind words#the arts are criminally undervalued in society at large so its always nice to hear someone appreciate it...!#answer tag

Business Diaries | Week 1
Subjects that tackle business have always been my weakness. Any word or term connected to business, I cannot understand it immediately so I consume more time in understanding those terms. Back in senior high school, our school didn't have an entrepreneurship subject but there's this subject in junior high school that somewhat makes us engaged in learning business. We experienced selling food products, that need a breakdown of expenses and also an output of business proposals. Overall, it was a great experience.
For this subject I found it challenging in some aspects. Once again, back in high school the level of teaching is not enough to understand this subject. The main point back then is to learn how to communicate with customers and know their emotions. Basically how to handle them. But for this subject it's not only the customers that need to understand it's much more deeper than that. Also I'm not good at communicating with other people which is a need to create a great team and great business. That's why I didn't expect to have a good relationship with my groupmates. We immediately clicked and stormed out our ideas. And since I have a habit of seeing what's wrong in a situation and saying no, it's actually a big help in making decisions. I keep telling my opinions whether there is a problem that needs to be addressed so that we can immediately find ways to make a solution or drop the idea. It's not actually that hard because I have great company to help me and lean on when making decisions.
In order to better understand what people are looking for in terms of change and the challenges they face on a daily basis when trying to come up with an idea for what to launch, our group, which consists of eight people, has been given the assignment for each of us to interview eight different people. In total, we were able to communicate with 64 different individuals. The best communication tool I used that is convenient to me and my interviewee is the application messenger. The eight interviewees are from different fields to come up with a better result and to have a large range of opinions. Since the group again has no clue what business or product to start we come up with questions to ask during the interview. The following are the questions we asked:
What problems do you encounter in your daily work?
As a consumer, what is the current demand for products in the marketplace?
What factors are most important to you when deciding to purchase from a new business?
What current problems exist in the field of agriculture, medicine, and education that need to be solved?
Upon evaluating the problems encountered in the fields, do you have any product suggestions that can be launched in the marketplace?
We reasoned that because they are customers, people choose things based on the particular difficulties they face. We also questioned them about the difficulties they observed in the fields of agriculture, education, and medical, as well as whether or not they had any recommendations for how to resolve these problems. This is because we are particularly interested in focusing on these sectors.
Usually they mention a problem that only the government can address. Nevertheless most of them mention a problem about the rising price of rice, which is their main concern, is caused by the rising cost of crop production and the price of fertilizer. They frequently suggest that we use high-efficiency organic fertilizers to increase crop output in a way that is less harmful to the environment in order to solve this issue.
The significant majority of respondents concurred that the agriculture industry is where the majority of problems may be located once we finished our interviews and tallied the data. They think that the problem that results in the rising price of rice, which is their main concern, is caused by the rising cost of crop production and the price of fertilizer. They frequently suggest that we use high-efficiency organic fertilizers to increase crop output in a way that is less harmful to the environment in order to solve this issue.
Our group makes decisions not to pursue agricultural related business for a reason that we don't have an idea on how to develop products or fertilizers that solves a problem related to agriculture, specifically the rice being pricey and other crop related problems. The group then makes a decision to our final star-up that we want to launch. We have noticed that there are a lot of reports, messages shared on GC, and Facebook posts that alert people to theft, sexual harassment, and holdups that occur on campus and in the neighborhoods around it. We want to resolve this issue so that the pupils can feel comfortable and secure in light of these factors.
We introduce a device called MusuanPin or the MP. A tracking device that is attachable in an ID laces, shirt or anywhere as long as it attaches and as long as you can click it immediately. It can be turned on if you suspect that your safety is in danger or whenever you find yourself in need of assistance, and it will quickly notify the school's security about wherever you are.
The product still needs further research regarding its features, cost, design and other important parts. But the group is determined to make an effort in order to satisfy and ensure the safety of our products. As I expected the experiment was overwhelming. Every detail should be analyzed. The way of planning, patience and expectations are difficult to handle as well.

2023 Yen Investment Strategy - Understand the Past And Present of the Japanese Currency Exchange Rate
Japan has always been the preferred country for Taiwanese people to travel, and Taiwanese people should not be unfamiliar with exchanging Japanese currency!
From the perspective of the global financial community, the Japanese dollar has always been a safe haven currency for global investors, and short selling for Japanese yen and long borrowing for Japanese yen can be said to be commonly used tactics by investment seniors.
But these situations have undergone significant changes since former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe launched the three arrows.
Within 10 years, the exchange rate will depreciate from 75 yen to 115 yen to exchange for one dollar!
In 2022, it will directly depreciate to 150 yen within one year to exchange for the US dollar.
What are the main factors that affect the yen exchange rate and how to invest in the yen to bring maximum returns? It is something that everyone wants to know whether the sharp drop in the yen can be bought or sold at a stop loss!
This article will explain the past and present of the Japanese yen to everyone, and predict and analyze its future trend. The dry goods are full, and I hope everyone must see the end!
History of Japan’s Exchange Rate Development (1985 2011): The Last Carnival and Endless Depression
To talk about the history of exchange rates, it is necessary to understand the political relations of various countries. Only by understanding this can we understand that there may be an invisible hand behind the central bank to manipulate the direction of many things.
Although Japan’s rapid rise after World War II is believed to be supported by the United States, an important driving force is actually Japan’s aristocratic system, which has lasted for thousands of years.
This system not only gave birth to many financial groups in Japan, but also allowed them to control Japan’s parliament. This is also why Japan’s economy is different from other Asian countries.
Everyone knows that the cause of Japan’s financial foam was the Plaza Accord in 1985.
Due to the severe domestic economic recession caused by the oil crisis in the United States, the then President of the United States joined forces with several other leaders to force Japan to sign the Plaza Accord and sell the US dollar in the international market.
The relatively expensive yen has deprived Japan of its price advantage in exporting goods, and the country has started to lower interest rates to avoid layoffs for businesses. In addition, due to the fact that Japan’s politics and commerce are mostly controlled by several major financial conglomerates, in order to make the people dependent on the enterprise and loyal, Japan hardly layoffs.
Therefore, the enterprise lending after the interest rate reduction is almost a bad way of “saving the poor without saving the emergency”. At this time, Japan’s domestic finance also fell into an unprecedented foam due to excessive lending.
Usually, in order to avoid such high inflation, the government should raise interest rates to curb inflation.
But at this moment, the newly recovered United States did not allow interest rate hikes, and for this reason, the Louvre Agreement was also issued. In addition, domestic financial groups also believed that raising interest rates would directly kill struggling enterprises, causing a large number of unemployment and shaking the foundation of the country.
After that, even these Japanese enterprises were unable to sustain themselves under low interest loans, and the problem completely exploded. Unemployment rates rose, housing prices plummeted, and inflation problems were directly deflated before they were solved.
For this reason, Japan had to continue to lower interest rates and print a large amount of money.
But the Japanese people have accumulated deep resentment towards the collusion of government consortia and the situation of being sold out by the United States to the outside world, so they began to put it on display, and after that, it will be a lost 30 years.
The yen exchange rate is completely not controlled by the Bank of Japan, but has become a foreign withdrawal machine.
Anyway, Japan’s interest rate policy has been lowered and cannot be lowered. The exchange rate mainly comes from the inflow and outflow of international funds. When the global economy is poor, people will switch to yen as a safe haven, and the yen exchange rate will rise.
When the global economy is in good shape, people will go to Japan to borrow money and exchange it for foreign exchange investment, which also causes Japan’s exchange rate to show a different trend from other global economies.
History of Japan’s Exchange Rate Development (2011–2021): Abe’s Three Arrows
In order to improve Japan’s weak and sluggish situation, then Prime Minister Abe launched three arrows. Since interest rates are not very flexible, it is necessary to increase QE interest rates.
By trying to gradually weaken the Japanese currency and increase its competitiveness in export earnings, this approach has also led to a depreciation of the Japanese yen from 75 to around 110 within 10 years. The main reason for the slow decline in the later period is that the global market has also begun to experience QE.
But a stable exchange rate also allows speculators to see opportunities for ‘arbitrage’. After all, the Japanese yen has a low interest rate, and there is no exchange risk of borrowing to invest in US dollars to earn a spread.
History of Japan’s Exchange Rate Development (2022–2023/7): Black Swan’s Frequent 2022
Due to the outbreak of the Ukraine Russia War in 2022, which accelerated inflation, the United States adopted aggressive interest rate hikes and collected funds through QT, prompting many investors to take advantage of the opportunity to arbitrage.
In this way, the funds borrowed from Japanese yen suddenly flooded into a massive amount, directly causing the exchange rate to crash from 115 to 150 in just one year.
Although depreciation is what the Japanese government wants to see, the rapid depreciation has caused a complete loss of international funds.
Although the decline began to slow down after the peak of inflation in the United States and slowly began to rebound, many countries also believe that the value of the yen is no longer maintained due to this situation.
Analysis of the Future Trend of Japan’s Exchange Rate
As mentioned earlier about the history of the Japanese yen exchange rate, we can see that the three main factors that affect Japan’s exchange rate are:
Bank of Japan attitude
International arbitrage funds
Central bank reserves of various countries
Due to the large amount of QE in recent years, the Bank of Japan has reached a point where bond interest rates account for a large amount of tax revenue, making it difficult to raise interest rates. Therefore, overall, it will continue to be loose.
As international arbitrage funds move towards the end with the US interest rate hike, the spread gradually narrows. However, the recent downgrade of the US has caused some volatility in US bonds, which may attract short-term speculative buyers.
However, in the long run, Powell predicts that interest rate cuts will begin next year, and the spread will narrow early. This portion of arbitrage funds is likely to take the opportunity to sell and repay money early.
Although central banks around the world have reduced the foreign exchange reserves of the Japanese yen, this adjustment is currently nearing its end.
In addition, Japan’s stock market has reached a new high this year, and the overall domestic economy has also won a wave of people after the epidemic, showing a trend of improvement. Therefore, I believe that long-term buying points for Japanese yen investment have emerged.
Japanese yen investment advice
At present, the domestic bearish situation of the Japanese yen no longer exists, after all, there is no way to lower interest rates at present, and it is unlikely that the United States will continue to raise interest rates significantly.
In the future, whether Japan cannot resist raising interest rates due to high domestic inflation or the United States cutting interest rates, it represents a narrowing of interest rate spreads, with a bullish yen rising, and overseas factors also selling out all the profits. Therefore, it is recommended to buy long.
However, in the short term, it is still affected by the 8/1 credit rating company FITCH’s lowering of the credit rating of US treasury bond bonds (AAA → AA+). Therefore, it is recommended to observe whether it falls below 145. If it is held, you can directly go long. If not, you can wait until it bounces below 140 before entering the market.
I think if the United States starts to cut interest rates, the yen is likely to return to around 120, but 110 or even lower is the result of the US also lowering interest rates to 0% and crazy QE, which is not very foreseeable.
Introduction to Japanese yen investment tools
Taiwanese people generally have the following methods for investing in Japanese yen.
Go directly to the bank to exchange cash.
This method is more suitable for people who really want to travel to Japan for physical consumption. Due to the difference in exchange rate between buying and selling cash in banks compared to online banking, and some may also charge handling fees, this method is not suitable for those who want to earn exchange rate differences.
Online exchange
It can be exchanged through online banking, free of handling fees, with a small difference in buying and selling exchange rates and no time limit. It can be processed 24 hours a day.
This operation method is very safe and suitable for conservative investors or investors with large funds.
Foreign exchange margin trading
Due to the relatively low volatility of exchange rates compared to stock prices or cryptocurrencies themselves, some trading platforms also offer foreign exchange margin trading systems to allow investors to leverage and amplify returns.
Many foreign exchange traders even amplify exchange rate fluctuations by 50 to 100 times, allowing them to earn huge profits through small funds, but the risk also increases accordingly, Moreover, leverage has borrowing costs and is not suitable for long-term holding and short-term operation, making it more suitable for experienced investors to use.
The advantages of trading USD and JPY on the TOP1 Markets foreign exchange contract for differences platform:
Trading 24 hours a day, allowing you to trade US dollars and Japanese currency anytime, anywhere
The minimum tradable amount is 0.1 hands, and the margin is only $20

Conclusion
Under the stimulation of sustained low interest rates and QE, Japan has experienced a long period of inflation domestically, and many negative factors from overseas have also been exhausted.
Data source: TradingEconomics
At present, investing in Japanese yen has a greater return than risk in the long run. Therefore, it is recommended that everyone can put Japanese yen into their own asset allocation. After all, even if the investment does not make a profit, traveling abroad to buy something to reward themselves is still very worthwhile. After all, all investments are aimed at enabling us to live a better life!

How Much for Boat Insurance? | Insurance Professionals of Arizona
A common question for boating insurance is how much for boat insurance? This is a great question and just one of many questions that potential boating insurance buyers will have. You may be thinking why do I even need boating insurance? That is another great question.
Boats are not covered under regular insurance options such as car insurance or auto insurance. If you have home insurance and have a small boat, it might be covered under your policy. When your policy does not cover your vehicle, you will need boat insurance.
There are also a lot of specifications and factors that go into how much your insurance is going to cost. Depending on your insurance package, you should be able to get the coverage you need for your situation.
Below are five things you should know about boating insurance before buying it:
What Kind of Vehicle
Yes, depending on what kind of water vehicle you have, there are going to be different insurance options and packages. As mentioned above, your boat might be covered if you are a homeowner. If you are not a homeowner and have a boat, you will definitely need boat insurance.
There is a main issue to consider before you decide what insurance package you want. That factor is whether you have a boat or a yacht. A boat is anything that is 26 feet or under. A yacht is anything that is 27 feet and over. If your boat is a smaller boat, your cost is going to be less compared to a yacht.
Different Factors
There are a lot of different factors that go into boat insurance. These factors vary and are a headache to try and memorize. Basically, all of the specifications of your vehicle are going to go into your insurance to determine coverage and price. The year and make of your boat are going to be important. How fast your boat can go and even where your vehicle will be used to determine the coverage of your insurance package.
You may be able to save some money if you are not using your boat during the winter or colder months. Time of year is another factor that goes into determining how much your boat insurance will be. Talk with whoever is in charge of your insurance and see what is possible. If you are able to save money that way, you will not be so worried about other factors with your boat.
How Much For Boat Insurance
It is time to answer the main question everyone wants to know about, how much for boat insurance? On average, it will cost you anywhere from 250 to 500 dollars a year for boat insurance. If you have a yacht, anything that is over 27 feet long, it is going to be more expensive for insurance.
After all of the different factors are settled, your insurance broker can get down to business. That’s when you can discuss the dollar amount and everything else that will determine what you will pay. Paying for boat insurance is usually paid once a year and not month by month. You will have to factor that in when budgeting or doing finances. You do not want to be short on money because of boat insurance.
What Are My Options
If you have a boat, you are going to have two main options when it comes to different policies. The first policy is going to be based on the value of the boat when it was purchased. Your coverage will go off of the cost of the boat at the time when the policy is written. This is generally the option that most boat owners go with. Your boat will be covered without depreciating. This gives you peace of mind that your boat is covered for years to come.
The next option is a cash value policy. This means that your policy will base coverage on how much your boat is worth at the time of the claim. A cash value policy is a good option if you have a brand new boat. It is important to remember that boats depreciate with time. If a cash value policy is a better option up-front, you can switch over to the other policy when the time is right.
Shopping for Boating Insurance
You have done the research and are ready to start shopping for boating insurance. So how is it done? The best thing to do is to first find a place that offers boat insurance. The next best thing is to find an insurance broker that can compare boat insurance packages for you. If you are not sold on the insurance broker option, let us do some explaining.
A broker will compare different boat insurance options and share them with you. From there, you can ask any questions that you might have. If you have a good boat insurance broker, they will answer all of your questions thoroughly. They can also give you their preference or opinion if you want to know what they think.
If you have no idea where to start, look at Insurance Professionals of Arizona (IPA). We can give you a good idea of who to call. You can even set up an appointment with one of our professionals to discuss boating insurance.
There are a lot of things that go into this kind of coverage. If you are still curious about how much it is for boat insurance, give us at IPA a call. We would love to show you the different options available and how much they would cost you.

Comparing Sound Quality: In-ear TWS vs. Wired Earbuds
The sound quality of earbuds is a crucial factor in the listening experience. With the rise of in-ear True Wireless Stereo (TWS) earbuds, the most common question is in-ear TWS and wired earbuds which are better in comparison to sound quality. In-ear TWS earbuds offer a wider soundstage and a more detailed treble response, while wired earbuds provide a more balanced bass response. However, in-ear TWS earbuds can sometimes overpower the other frequencies with their extra bass, and wired earbuds have a narrower soundstage and less detailed treble response due to the lack of noise isolation. Ultimately, the choice between the two will depend on personal preference and other factors such as battery life, price, and design. In this article, I'll be comparing the sound quality of in-ear TWS and wired earbuds and determining which one offers better sound quality.
Understanding In-ear TWS and Wired Earbuds
As a person who likes music, I'm always looking for the best way to hear my favourite songs. I've been learning about earbuds lately, and there are two main kinds: in-ear TWS and wired. In-ear TWS In-ear TWS earbuds fit snugly into my ear canal and are wireless. They come with a case that charges them and use Bluetooth to connect to the device. One of the best things about in-ear TWS earbuds is that they are easy to carry around and use. They are small and light, so I can put them in my pocket or purse and take them with me. They are also great for working out or doing other things where wires can get in the way. Wired Earbuds On the other hand, wired earbuds connected to my device with a wire. They don't need to be charged, and as long as I have something to plug them into, I can use them for as long as I want. One of the best things about wired earbuds is that they sound good. They sound more balanced and are usually easier to wear for longer periods of time. Both in-ear TWS and wired earbuds have their pros and cons, and which one to choose depends on your needs and preferences. I like in-ear TWS earbuds because they are easy to use and portable, but I also like the sound quality of wired earbuds, which make listening more immersive.
Advantages of in-ear TWS
Sound Quality I have been using In-ear TWs for a long time now. In-ear TWS earbuds offer several advantages over wired earbuds, such as noise isolation, wireless connectivity, and portability. But how do they fare in terms of sound quality? Let's find out. Soundstage Soundstage refers to the perceived spatial distribution of sound in a recording. In-ear TWS earbuds tend to have a wider soundstage compared to wired earbuds, thanks to their noise isolation capabilities. Noise isolation helps to reduce external sounds, allowing you to hear details that you might miss with wired earbuds. This wider soundstage enhances the listening experience, making music sound more immersive and engaging. Bass Response Bass response refers to the low-frequency sounds in music, such as the thump of a bass guitar or the beat of a drum. In-ear TWS earbuds tend to have more bass compared to wired earbuds. This is partly due to the design of in-ear TWS earbuds, which creates a tighter seal in ear canal, enhancing the bass response. However, this extra bass can sometimes overpower the other frequencies, making the music sound unbalanced. Treble Response Treble response refers to the high-frequency sounds in music, such as the sound of a cymbal or a high-pitched vocal. In-ear TWS earbuds tend to have a more detailed treble response compared to wired earbuds, thanks to their ability to isolate external sounds. This allows you to hear the finer details of a recording, making the music sound more lifelike and nuanced.
Sound Quality of Wired Earbuds
Wired earbuds have been around for a long time, and they remain a popular choice for many music lovers. They offer some advantages over in-ear TWS earbuds, such as consistent connectivity and uncompromised sound quality. Soundstage Wired earbuds tend to have a narrower soundstage compared to in-ear TWS earbuds, due to their lack of noise isolation. This can make the music sound less immersive and engaging, as you might miss some of the finer details in the recording. Bass Response Wired earbuds tend to have a more balanced bass response compared to in-ear TWS earbuds. While they might not have as much bass as in-ear TWS earbuds, they offer a more natural-sounding bass that doesn't overpower the other frequencies in the music. Treble Response Wired earbuds tend to have a less detailed treble response compared to in-ear TWS earbuds. This is partly due to the lack of noise isolation, which can make it difficult to hear the finer details in a recording. However, some wired earbuds are designed with high-quality drivers that can produce a more detailed treble response.
In-ear TWS Earbuds vs. Wired Earbuds: Sound Quality Comparison
After using both in-ear TWS and wired earbuds I can compare their sound quality. Let's first look at the sound quality of in-ear TWS and wired earbuds individually before comparing them. In-ear TWS Earbuds In-ear TWS earbuds have become increasingly popular in recent years due to their convenience and portability. They have a small form factor and no wires, making them easy to carry around and use. But how do they fare in terms of sound quality? Soundstage One thing I've noticed about in-ear TWS earbuds is their ability to create a wider soundstage compared to wired earbuds. This is partly due to their noise isolation capabilities, which block out external sounds and allow for a more immersive listening experience. I've found this to be particularly noticeable when listening to live recordings, where the soundstage can make the music sound more lifelike and engaging. Bass Response In-ear TWS earbuds also excel in the bass response department, thanks to their design. They fit snugly in your ear canal, creating a tight seal that enhances the bass response. This can be a double-edged sword, though, as the extra bass can sometimes overpower the other frequencies in the music, making it sound unbalanced. That said, I've found that this issue can be mitigated by adjusting the EQ settings on my music player. Treble Response In terms of treble response, in-ear TWS earbuds offer a more detailed and nuanced sound compared to wired earbuds. The noise isolation capabilities allow you to hear the finer details in a recording, such as the subtle cymbal hits and vocal harmonies. This has made me appreciate certain songs and albums even more, as I can hear parts of the music that I may have missed with other earbuds. Wired Earbuds Wired earbuds may not have the same level of convenience as in-ear TWS earbuds, but they still have their merits. They are generally more affordable and offer a reliable and consistent listening experience. But how do they compare to in-ear TWS earbuds in terms of sound quality? Soundstage One noticeable difference between wired earbuds and in-ear TWS earbuds is the soundstage. Wired earbuds have a narrower soundstage due to their lack of noise isolation. This can make the music sound less immersive and engaging compared to in-ear TWS earbuds. Bass Response Wired earbuds generally offer a more balanced bass response compared to in-ear TWS earbuds. The lack of noise isolation means that the bass response is not as enhanced, but it also means that the bass doesn't overpower the other frequencies in the music. I've found that this makes wired earbuds a good choice for genres like jazz and classical music, where a balanced sound is important. Treble Response In terms of treble response, wired earbuds tend to have a less detailed and nuanced sound compared to in-ear TWS earbuds. This is partly due to the lack of noise isolation, which makes it harder to hear the finer details in a recording. However, some wired earbuds are designed with high-quality drivers that can produce a more detailed treble response
Other Factors to Consider
When choosing between in-ear TWS and wired earbuds, there are other factors to consider besides sound quality. Here are some of them: Battery Life and Charging Time In-ear TWS earbuds have a limited battery life, usually ranging from 3 to 6 hours per charge. However, their charging case can recharge the earbuds several times, extending their battery life. Wired earbuds don't have a battery and can be used for as long as your device has power. Price In-ear TWS earbuds tend to be more expensive compared to wired earbuds. However, there are some affordable options available that offer decent sound quality. Wired earbuds are generally more affordable, but their sound quality can vary depending on the brand and model. Design and Comfort In-ear TWS earbuds come in a variety of designs, from discreet and minimalistic to bold and attention-grabbing. They also offer a comfortable fit, thanks to their soft ear tips that conform to your ear canal. Wired earbuds also come in a variety of designs, but they can sometimes be less comfortable, especially if the ear tips are too large or too small.
