what you need

a messy notebook (I like the Leuchturm bullet ones)

a pen

a beverage for emotional support (or several <3)

how to get started

grab your notebook, and sit down in a quiet moment with enough time so you won't stress even more. The point of a brain dump is to unload all your thoughts, everything that is stressing you is put to paper. not aesthetically, no cutesy Pinterest vibes; we need it plain, unromanticised, and personal.

some prompts to get you going

do I have any deadlines coming up?

have I been making time for myself and my hobbies?

what projects, tasks, appointments, and/ or plans are currently stressing me out?

am I procrastinating anything?

am I properly looking after myself? (mental/physical health, skincare, hobbies, school/work, etc etc)

am I currently working through any challenges, and if yes how is that going so far?

how are my friends/relationships doing?

is there an area in my life that I should prioritise right now?

do I feel confident and comfortable at the moment?

Review and reflect

take some time and go over your writing; you can underline or highlight the points that you find most important. make this whole "brain dump" thing a routine; sometimes it takes a bit of writing until you actually get comfortable with putting your emotions onto paper (it sounds easier than it is..), but the more often you do this, the more comfortable you will get!! <3

Mushroom Oasis March (Day 7 : Sleeping)

Ever since I played mushroom oasis, I've been coming back to the meadow scene for comfort again and again, and this event gave me the motivation to finally make an ambience/ sleeping aid!

Younger me was somehow able to churn out a million words of writing about their ocs between the years 2009 and 2019 and then i started from scratch with (essentially) new ocs and plot, and I have only been able to write like 5000 words total in the last five years. I wonder if this is just a part of getting more exhausted by adult responsibilities or if I have lost the knack for writing. Did this happen to anyone else ?

What if?:

What if we didn’t care about people’s perception of us?. We put so much effort into ourselves just for other people’s approval and positive affirmations.

We pre plan the conversations we will have with others in hope we come off as smart, confident, likeable or funny. We put effort into our appearances and follow the current trend cycle, even if we have to completely change ourselves until we look utterly unrecognisable. We try to mould ourselves to other’s expectations and standards as if we are clay.

If somebody doesn’t like us, we automatically have the mindset of ‘I need to fix me, I am the problem’. In reality, we don’t realise the only person we are harming is ourselves.

Here’s a simple remedy; Do what feels right to you.

You shouldn’t have to beg people to like you. If you’re a good person, you will attract friends that will accept you for who you really are.

You shouldn’t have to change your physical appearance just to be seen as ‘perfect’ or ‘beautiful’. Simply follow the style YOU like and what suits your unique features (i firmly believe that everyone possesses their own individual beauty). Do what feels most natural to you.

Rather than focusing on how to achieve society’s approval, focus on seeking your own approval. Society will ALWAYS find things to critique you on. You can never win with some people, but you can choose yourself, I hope you choose yourself this time. 🍓
