IM GONNA BE THAT GUY and point out that that is government, not culture. After getting more exposure to other cultures one thing that sticks out to me so bad now is wearing shoes in the house. My dad will wear his shoes indoors all day. No reason. I try not to but even I mess up and keep doing it. Shoes that have been in the streets of KNOXVILLE, TENNESSEE are also routinely on my fucking carpet. Makes me sick

Nazi Germany lasted for ~10 years. the US' genocide of indigenous people inspired the Nazis, and we've been at it for ~500 years. 55 MILLION indigenous turtle Islanders were killed by American colonialists. Tell me again why we're arguing over whether or not these bourgeois politicians are 99% Hitler? This country is far worse than the Nazis were even remotely capable of. There are nearly 1.8 MILLION people in Slavery in the United States right now. This country is cartoon levels of evil, and beyond that! it's beyond parody! it's worse than you can possibly imagine. and that's just two examples over the 500 years they've been at this, and they only domestically! Do you have any idea what the ruling class has done in other countries? the war and famine they've intentionally induced from profits? The millions they've bombed? The only country to ever use nuclear bombs! and it was on civilians!
So yes, of course we cry out death to [US]America. Do you seriously not understand how deeply deeply evil this country is? Again:
Death to the USA

AMERICAN OF THE DAY [APRIL 25TH 2023] : YEONMI PARK
Tumblr media
Yeonmi Park (Korean: 박연미; born 4 October 1993) is a North Korean defector and activist whose family fled from North Korea to China in 2007 and settled in South Korea in 2009, before moving to the United States in 2014. Her family turned to black-market trading during the North Korean famine in the 1990s.[2] Her father was sent to a labor camp for smuggling.[3] They fled to China, where Park and her mother fell into the hands of human traffickers and she was sold into slavery before escaping to Mongolia.[4] She is now an advocate for victims of human trafficking in China and works to promote human rights in North Korea and around the globe.
Park is also a naturalized U.S. citizen.

My reason is because it is a massive privilege to be American. I have met many Americans who are immigrants and many more who aren’t Americans yet who worked hard to get here and it made me feel proud to be in a place full of hard working people (not just immigrants). And reminded me how I am here now because of my immigrant ancestors traveling hundreds of hours across the ocean for a better life and created the life I so thankfully live today. My family has lived in the same exact area I am now since before the US was officially founded, everything around me was built by them and others and I really never want to leave. I love Americans I love American culture(s) I love the good parts of our history and I love what America represents. Even native citizens are allowed to trash talk America all they want, burn the flag, do anything and are not persecuted. I disagree with them but we are so free as a nation that they can do that with no repercussion. It is all of our rights to make our future and change our towns for the better. Things are rough at the moment but things will get even better. I have faced discrimination both legally and not and I will still confidently say I love America and plan to stay here until I god forbid Cant anymore because this is my home and I want to be here to support it, especially those people around me and our nature. There is much to be improved but what place is perfect? And I am confident the issues we face will be fixed. I just can’t completely shit on the land and people that has provided me everything and has been an example that others follow.
FREEDOM RAHGGHH !!!! 🇺🇸🦅
I keep seeing nothing but America hate posting around this time of year and while yes, EXTREMELY warranted right now, what are some genuine reasons in your opinion to celebrate it?
If I grill in a sour mood the food will taste bad :(
