I have a folder in my computer called "just in case" where i have important documents saved, like the constitution (since trump REMOVED IT from whitehouse.gov) and books that might get banned

im obviously going to add more, if anyone has any reccomendations please let me know. just wanted to share because i think its a good idea going into these next 4+ years.

EDIT i've also added a clip of elon doing the nazi salute because its taken down a lot of places and likely will be removed everywhere. as well as screenshots of what happened when you searched "presidents in order" (it did not show biden) and "president from 2020-2024" (it showed trump) but have since been fixed

I got discouraged when I'd been working for my company for a year and still didn't feel settled and was still intimidated by senior members of staff but then I started feeling more comfortable with everything around the 15th month because apparently time is a construct and looping around the sun once didn't magically make me feel more confident.

one thing i like about the new job is that public service really drives home how diverse and interesting any random sample of people actually is. you kind of can't keep thinking that there's one single way in which ordinary life typically goes when you're dropped into the middle of other people's lives on a daily basis. like within two weeks at a public service job in the most boring town imaginable someone will come in and be like hi i'm blind, can i have some adjustments for my advanced degree. hi my grandmother died, can i have an extension. hi i moved here from taiwan literally two months ago and misunderstood some instructions, can i repeat this process. hi i'm competing at the olympics, can i put my studies on hold.

there's just this certain kind of rhetoric that wants to make you belive that A Normal Person is this or that and their life goes this or that way, when really there's no limit to the chaos of human experience or to the endlessly new-shuffled variations of Circumstances and i'd defy anyone who believes otherwise to keep believing it after one day in public service

ehhh,, well unfortunately i didn’t have the best experience with the herding instructor. unfortunately she’s one of the only instructors in my area (i’m on a waitlist for the other one) but i don’t think i’ll be going back to her. she was really negative, seemed impatient (Lichen is 8 months old, any good trainer should be patient with puppies/teenagers especially).. and also seemed to dislike mudis which is lame. sad but it’s ok, we have plenty to work on in this season before shows kick up again in the summer

i have a day pack that is showing signs of Age. the elastic in the bottle pockets is shit and can't reliably hold water bottles up anymore. one side of the handle broke off.

i just did some personal archivery and sussed out that i've had this backpack since at least 2008, maybe a year or two older, which means this backpack is perhaps old enough to drive.

i also washed it for the First Time In Its Life because uhhhh it needed it, and i am happy to report that it no longer looks like i decapitated someone and carried their bloody head around in it
