You got me absolutely right in that case, there IS a secret selfcest version of that post I didn't include because of woke (well, actually because I want people to focus on the theory lol and weird selfcest shipping distracts from that).

The thing orv does with the alt universe selves that is sooo interesting to me is all of them, and I do mean all, have these twisted and complicated feeling about their other selves. And that's all canon, all I do is tint those feelings in a slightly more romantic direction. for fun. (despite all appearances I'm secretly a canon purist. no, not really. but imagine if I was)

So, what is Han Sooyoung's whole deal?

From what we see in orv, their whole dynamic is basically.... 1863 is cool smart badass powerful protagonist-like and 3rd is the 'rip-off' constantly trying to catch up to her awesomeness / keep up / 'plagirizing' her. This happens a lot, starting from when Han Sooyoung is 13 years old and accidentally plagirises herself for the 1st time.

1863 writes Ways of Survival? 3rd gets vague dream-memories and writes SSSSS grade infinite regressor.

1863 becomes a constellation named Architect of the False Last Act? guess what 3rd does.

See how the narration always mentions 'btw 1863 did this first' - I'm not making this up. 3rd even plagiarizes 1863's lost memories into existence again !!

So if there is one 'true' Han Sooyoung...it is pretty clear who that would be. But crucially, 1863 does not mind at all being ripped off and isn't bitter about it. (unlike sp, who is very bitter at first.)

When Kim Dokja comes to her like 'someone plagiarized your novel!!1!!1!' han sooyoung says lol idc because she knows its just 'daytime ego'/3rd.

Even during the scenarios, 1863 is constantly helping her out because she sees 3rd as a bit of an idiot who does not know anything (very sp style) so OBVIOUSLY she needs to come along and save her while pretending its a huge hassle and she totally doesn't want to. Anyway here's why Kim Dokja can cook, for real this time

There are three times he has made food in the novel that I can remember: the meat of the dungeon rats, the meat of the plant thing and The Dumplings.

The first two times you can assume that he read how to make it in twsa... And that the recipe was 20 pages long...

The third time 999 is giving him detailed instructions.

DETAILED INSTUCTIONS.

He can cook but only with detailed instructions!! If the recipe says "cook" he needs to know just how high the flame is and exactly how long to cook it for. If it says "add salt" he needs to know how much salt.

(recipes are super vague... also i may just be projecting my neurodivergence...)

Its kinda funny to think about hsy writing the detailed instructions to kinda highlight yjh's meticulousness but unknowingly giving kdj exactly what he needs to survive... Food. (Don't think about how it may have been deliberate if you don't want to be sad)

In conclusion, may I suggest yjh teaching kdj to cook instead? It would work. Hsy is more likely to burn the house down (intentionally) anyway.

the matter of loving kim dokja is a simple one.

back then, her bio was so cringe she had, when revisiting that page again since her first time creating it, revised it to reflect just two words.

what else was she? being a 'reader' at least, wasn't enough. too many people who thought they could write spew incessantly meaningless sentences they call a story without paying mind to the intricacy of it. anyone can write, sure, but can just anyone tell a story?

that's what she believed in.

the next few of her works wasn't as big of a bust as the first one. han sooyoung knew she was a good writer, and an even better storyteller. she didn't earn her degree for nothing. her popularity grew and grew, until SSSSS-grade infinite regressor hit the top of the webnovel charts, and she was racking up thousands of views within the hour of a new upload.

the matter of kim dokja was strange. reader kim had left such nonsense about plagiarism in her comment sections, and got bombed-near immediately.

when she did take a look at this ways of survival, she was appalled. it was horrible, full of cliches it couldn't even utilize properly, of tropes that felt too stiff and played straight. and here was its reader, at chapter 854, still commenting, still reading. same ever "author-nim, yoo joonghyuk will be alright, right?"

how do you explain this feeling of envy? she can point out a few users that had been consistent in her notifications, sending love for the novel, telling her how much they enjoyed it, that they were looking forward to the next update. attention got her to monetization, and people still loved her work, and she survived.

she remembers this one time, when she went on a forum for webnovel writers. there was a post from a chinese webnovel author asking advice about fans who act like haters in the comments. apparently, there was this one guy who, without fail, commented on his work, criticizing his excessive use of tropes, how his worldbuilding didn't make sense or something. however, same commenter would cite really specific chapters and moments, would dish out backhanded compliments and suggestions for plot progression, and subtly fawn over how much he loved the MC, if not for the fact that said author wasn't doing him justice.

han sooyoung could relate. she scrolled through the comments. nanago wasn't particularly helpful with slang, but from what she could gather, this airplane person was pretty notorious for his atrocious writing. some comment or other was about his novel was just as bad as it sounded, even if it was immensely popular. it sounded like his commenter had some points to make.

she left a comment, something along the lines of "just sounds like you gotta work on ur writing anyway." the rest of the comments, a mix of languages, said more or less the same. she promptly forgot about it, only to find a reply a week later.

she’s goofy silly cute… him? i mean it’s the only time we’ve seen a different gendered reader to character deadass did they run out of incarnation bodies for transmigration?

but anyway, i think it’s fun that she just stans heewon so hard she worked out n then is like bros with hyunsung. 41!YJH legitimately values her and the rest of the companions in combat. this round is so interesting bc like there’s the usual incarnations + the readers who got crazy good powerful so the balance is wrecked

honestly she and Lee Dansu were like, the first companions so there’s a sense of fondness that just comes from knowing them for so long

7: Ji Enyu

victim of less screen time bc she’s being badass on her own, seriously. initially she’s all like “haha what if we get put in the orv world there’s no way I’d survive” n she’s surviving the hardest, the balls on this woman. i think my jaw drops everytime she appears bc she’s got new awesome abilities n powers n connections. don’t even need that YJH carry

+ Yoo Sangah constellation, + LHH’s equivalent of Yoo Sangah, + the editor of ORV (its editor…. 🥹)

she and LHH literally got that best friend feel on, just looking at each other n understanding each other

also possessing King of Beauty is unironically crazy, but so so funny. someone who found her own way but still remains a reliable ally all the way through

Like sometimes if i have enough hope in the concept or i want to see the rest of the plot i'll scroll past it (like it comes on chapter 6 and i'll skip past cause i'm too invested in the story) but usually if it appears i'll click out (sometimes i'll click on a fic knowing it has smut and kinda hoping it'll be skippable and then it either is and i skip it or it's definitely not and i just click out of it so i consciously know it's not a deal breaker but it's something that usually makes me click out TT)

(you are not a regressor because you regress...) - jang hayoung (write on that damn wall. she has every right to more of an existential crisis than yjh but remains so strong and determined) - yatora yaguchi (blue period) (he's my son. my child. literally never gives up on art. he decided it was his life's love and he dove headfirst into it...)

8. 3 tv shows that you never get bored of oh god... - the looney tunes show (2011) (i love this reboot and the adult humor and insanity. and it makes GREAT mindless watching when ur having a breakdown btw) - uramichi onii-san (he just like me fr...) - i truly have not watched tv in ages. ouran maybe? easy on the heart to rewatch

11. 3 books that you would recommend everyone to read :) - Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint - 전지적 독자 시점 - Jeon-ji-jeok Dokja Si-jeom a more serious list: - ORV. sorry. - The Tale of the Dueling Neurosurgeons (v easy read and fun intro to some discoveries in neuroscience!) - The Emperor of all Maladies (not at all an easy read! a detailed historical account of humanity's battle against cancer and the successes and failures along the way. there WILL be sections where you get so mad at the doctors you have to put the book down :) )
