JJK update!

I've just finished season 1 and watched JJK 0 and all I gotta say is I love JJK so much y'all.

As far as JJK 0 goes, I loved the movie. I watched it last night. I would die for Yuta. Zero hesitation. I adore that child. I don't understand Geto tho, I'm sorry. I really wanna know what happened to him because I just know he's been deeply hurt. But the fact that Satoru referred to him as his best friend in the end really hit me in my heart. Idk their history, but clearly they were in school together and were close. But the fact that he still chose to refer to him as that even after everything- WOW.

JJK season 1 was fantastic i love it i love it i love it i love ittttt. I ADORE Yuji and Megumi. I am so freakin proud of Nobara and Maki I love them with my whole heart. I'm so proud of all of them honestly. DOn't even get me started on Gojo. I LOVE THIS MAN! HE'S SO COOL😭 I love him sm y'all. And Nanami???? Y'ALL- I cant. Love that man. He's amazing. I love this show so much and I can't wait to see how season 2 goes!

ok midday UPDATE here are some Good Things:

faculty retreat was fun albeit full of Characters lol. they are such a funny species of human. i was telling macky some of them behave like they are simultaneously the most important people in the world AND the most oppressed... like deposed royalty or something. but i learned a lot about our first-year programming and got to meet some interesting people. plus my table had just finished a summer discussion group exploring the idea of implementing specifications grading in their courses and i was like omg i did specs grading and i loved it!! and then they had lots of questions about how it worked in my classrooms which was fun and made me feel briefly like A Teacher again lol

i don't like it when people act like i'm a total nobody until i say something smart & then it's as if i suddenly materialized in their field of vision and they're like oh wait who are you. i hope i never make people feel that way no matter how Important i think i am!!!! but i have to admit there's something satisfying about the challenge of being like "ohhh got it ok this person is clearly telegraphing that they don't consider me worth paying attention to in the slightest. i bet i can convince them i am and i bet i can do it not by monologuing about myself but by practicing the kind of active listening everyone in this room is starved for & asking really thoughtful questions & making connections to things they'd shared earlier that they thought no one was listening to. i bet i can make them feel Heard." and i did that with two people today lol they barely gave me the time of day for the first hour or so but by the end they were both like let's get coffee and keep talking about this why don't you come to my class this quarter why don't you come to this meeting my group is having. like i get ittttt sometimes you don't want to engage with a rando and it's not personal lol but it is still satisfying to be like ok i won you over and therefore i win. liz says not everything has to be framed as a competition but it does make life into a more interesting game.

i am wearing my new black jeans from everlane and every time i catch my reflection the mirror i'm like DAMN girl you look good. gosh they are just soooo flattering and so much more comfortable than skinny jeans. plus i feel like you can dress black jeans up a bit with a work top so i still feel Professional. also my new slip-on sneakers from old navy arrived today and i feel like they are gonna be the perfect way to wear comfy shoes at work but not look quite as casual as my white sneakers do. tbd but i have high hopes

i cleared a bunch of emails off my to-do list! this was virtuous procrastination as i am avoiding finishing the PPT for thurs lol but i think i can probably get the PPT done tonight in under 15-20 min if i just do a burst of work before bed. so i am freeing myself from having to do it RIGHT NOW at work.

it's beautiful out.... fall is so beautiful here.... gosh it's so nice and i think i am going to go home a bit early & walk the dogs since i worked late last night and will do some more work tonight too

my hypercompetent coworker is probably leaving sigh but my other hypercompetent coworker is staying and today she was like i got asked to serve on this board and i could definitely do it but i think you should do it for XYZ reasons, and that was nice. i mean i know it is added work and i'm sure she's glad to be out of it but i feel like there have been a few times where she's gone out of her way to be like "this opportunity is going to be good exposure for you/a good way to meet people/a good way to show people what you can do" and i really appreciate that. everyone else has been here so long and i am still so new both to the institution and to this level of role! and i can figure some stuff out on my own i know it's a learning curve but i really appreciate it when people are like hey i think doing this thing would be good for your career/work. my [redacted] just cannot provide any useful guidance at all so it can really feel sometimes like i'm on my own. but i'm not!!

I reworked the communications tower/satellites. Originally you would fix the tower and send out transmissions through there, but now after fixing the tower/satellites your sim will be able to use the strangerville radio desk (made basegame compatible) to contact the outside world and send out transmissions for traders & other survivors.

also got a lot further with the repair-able cars than I originally thought I would! They can be purchased through buy mode (or should they be purchasable through trading with caps? let me know) and they will come completely broken and in need of fixing before they can be used. Your sim will need to find, trade for, or study the broken cars to gain a new car mechanic skill before they can get their hands dirty and repair the vehicle though! Once fixed they will look brand new again and can be taken out on scavenging runs and hunts. They need fuel though! Your sims can scavenge and loot fuel. If your sims have the parts needed, they will be able to upgrade their cars! They can; - Cover them in make-shift armor for protection (less chance of getting dangerous scenarios) - Add a satellite to the roof (higher chance of finding other survivors whilst out) - Add a generator so the car consumes less precious fuel - Add extra boxes for larger storage capacity meaning more loot when they return

Your survivors will be able to dry the meat they get from their hunting trips into jerky using my new jerky rack, but they have to build it first! The jerky will last much longer than the fresh meat and will keep your settlement fed.

I also made a much more appropriate laundry basket for those who own Laundry Day. A bucket seemed more survival-esque rather than those pristine laundry baskets lol

There's also a new Nuclear Winter lot trait. You can give your lot the trait 'Nuclear Winter', which will plunge the neighborhood into freezing temperatures and almost constant snow. Sims will get a scared buff when they are outside due to the danger of their surroundings, it will disappear once they return back to the safety of their shelter. Sims born under this lot trait will gain the trait 'Child of the Nuclear Winter'. On a related note, children born under the Survivalist Base lot trait will automatically inherit their parents Survivalist trait. If both lot traits are active, they will gain both.

I also finished up the scavenging loots. Your survivors will bring back a few different items from the wasteland, ranging from food items to upgrade parts, fuel, stuff like that. You will get a notification every time they return with what they brought back.

I also finished the fuel system for the vehicles, they require gas to be taken on hunts or scav runs and will use gas whilst they're gone. You can click on them and hover over the refuel interaction to see how much gas they have left. Sims can trade for gas from traders or find it when out on scav runs. They must have a gas can in their inventory to be able to refuel the vehicle.

Also made a small feature where sims can scavenge shampoo, and if they have it in their inventory they can shower with it! They will get a nice buff from it :)
